Ghirahim stood there in shock unsure what to do. "Pipit, listen to me. I know what happened that day," Ghirahim started. He held his hands up in a nonthreatening manner.

Pipit glared at him, "Why would I listen to you? You're just following Demise." The knight swung his blade in Ghirahim's direction.

Ghirahim shook his head, "No Pipit. Look at me." Ghirahim pointed to his throat where the impression of his collar was. "Demise tortured me. He..He's no friend of mine."

Pipit looked at Ghirahim with sorrow in his brown eyes. "I didn't know, but Ganondorf," Pipit started.

Ghirahim held up his hands, "He was framed. Demise possessed your father and made him attack Ganondorf."

"Is that true?" Pipit asked looking past Ghirahim to ask Ganondorf.

"Of course," the sorcerer answered, "Your father was my best friend. I wouldn't harm him. Pipit looked at the Geurdo at first still unbelieving, but then his eyes softened.

"I believe you," Pipit said, "I don't know why, but I know that you wouldn't harm my father on purpose." The brunette smiled. The calm of the moment was broken when a bokoblin shrieked and attacked Pipit.

The brunette blocked the attack easily. Ghirahim realizing the opportunity he had, looked for Demise. He ran off. Ghirahim could see the tall demon king as he cut down all those who stood in his way. Ghirahim was getting within striking distance when he saw something green in the corner of his vision.

He turned to see Link struggling against a dozen bokoblins. Ghirahim paused for a moment as he looked at Demise's unprotected back and Link's plight. Kill Demise or help choice was easy and Ghirahim ran to aid the blonde Hylian. Ghirahim summoned a trio of throwing knifes which flew into the backs of three bokoblins. Link was able to use this distraction to finish the rest.

Link saw the white-haired teen with his hands bound in front of him. Ghirahim looked terrible. He was so scrawny and covered with healing bruises and burns. "Ghirahim?" Link called out unsure. Ghirahim opened his mouth to speak, but was unable to as Link pulled him into a crushing hug. The blonde Hylian broke contact to look at his friend, "I thought Demise killed you."

"No, I'm still here. A little worse for wear, but still breathing," Ghirahim said giving Link a half-smile. "Now, if you excuse me. I'm going to kill Demise." With that the white-haired teen turned away and started to stalk the demon king.

Link debated whether to follow his friend, but was interrupted by a bokoblin. He blocked the attack and performed a perfect spin attack, slicing the attacking bokoblin and another enemy that tried to sneak up on him.

He was fighting really well when the ground started to shake. Link looked to find the source of the earthquake and found Hylia and Demise staring each other down. Link started to make his way to the pair; it was his duty to protect Hylia and he would not fail. Link cut down a bokoblin and a moblin with a iron shield took its place. Link tried to slice at the heavy moblin, but it would block each attack with its shield. Link looked nervously toward Hylia and Demise and hoped that she would be okay.

Midna used her twilight magic to toss bokoblins around easily. She chuckled to herself as the stupid creatures kept trying to attack her even after seeing their comrades fly off. She teleported behind the enemies and stuck out with her magic sending them to the ground where they laid unmoving. The ground shook violently and Midna turned to where it emanated. Hylia stood ready to attack Demise who clenched and unclenched his fists readily.

The Twili princess started to run that direction when a dozen bokoblins stopped her. She looked up at the pair and prayed to the three goddesses that Hylia would be safe.

Pipit had separated from Ganondorf to return to Hylia's side so he could speak with her. The goddess was easy to find as she seemed to glow with a pure light. The yellow-clad knight fought his way to Hylia just as she impaled a bokoblin.

She turned to him and gave him a smile. "Pipit, I'm glad to see you safe."

"I'm glad you're alright too," Pipit started. "I talked to Ganondorf and I wanted to tell you that he was framed."

Hylia raised her eyebrows and Pipit could swear that a smile tugged at her lips, "Really?"

Pipit nodded his head yes. Hylia laughed lightly before her face turned to one of horror. Pipit gasped as a jagged blade pushed itself out of his chest. He looked as red dripped down his front staining his yellow tunic. His breath came off ragged and he couldn't seem to get enough air. He looked to Hylia who had tears in her blue eyes. Shadows started in the corner of his vision and grew.

Hylia couldn't believe her eyes. Pipit hung on the edge of Demise's blade for a second before Demise flung his body aside. She looked at the bloodstained blade that killed the young knight. Hylia put a hand to her heart; Pipit and his brother were like sons to her. She screamed out in sorrow and the ground beneath her shook. Demise barely moved at this display of power.

He swung his dark sword in her direction and she stopped it with her rapier. The blades locked in a metallic ring. Hylia pushed the demon king back and he stumbled slightly. Hylia held out her hand to form an arrow of light that flew and collided with Demise. He growled angrily and shot his own dark magic her way. Hylia spun quickly as she teleported out of the way of Demise's attack. She was now behind Demise and in the optimal position to finish the demon king. She gathered a large amount of light magic into her hands and prepared to launch it at Demise.

The demon king turned around with a strange object in his hands. It looked like a mask made of stone and it reeked of dark magic. Hylia was reminded of what Midna said. "The Fused Shadows," Hylia breathed out nervously.
