Operation Sucker Punch – Round 2

Holding out for a hero – Bonnie Tyler

The crowd settled down once more as Mari, Shayera, Dinah, Helena, Beatriz and Zee walk out in a line all wearing the same styled dress which was an ankle length long sleeved button down dress with their hero logo imprinted on their chest and in a colour that identified the Justice Leaguer. They all turned to the crowd looking solemn. The music begins and they sing in unison.

Doo doo doo doooo 3x Aaahhh aaahhh They raise their arms towards the ceiling with eyes following this movement.

Diana drops down in front of the audience from above landing centre stage in the same styled dress with her logo and colours billowing out around her slightly to settle around her ankles, Clark stands mesmerised with the crowd. She begins to sing, looking around searchingly.

Where have all the good men gone and where are all the gods? Walks over to the crowd spreading her arms wide then putting her right hand above her eyes and peering out over them
Where's the street wise Hercules (Diana rolls her eyes as everyone laughs) to fight the rising odds?

Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed? She walks over and touches Shining Knights face then returns to centre stage. Shining Knight puts his hand to his cheek and sighs dreamily, the crowd erupts with laughter.

Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need She puts her hands to her head shaking from left to right in frustration. She backflips to the ladies and they begin to sing and dance together.

I need a hero The ladies stand in a line and strike a bicep curl with their left arm as a hologram appears behind them of all the male Justice League members. The crowd stares in awe.

I'm holding out for a hero till the end of the night The ladies clasp their hands in front of them in a hopeful manner as a picture of Batman appears.
He's gotta be strong and he's gotta be fast The hologram changes to Superman and then Flash as the ladies turn to point at them in turn.
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight The ladies turn to face the crowd standing in a boxer like pose. As the hologram changes to Greg on his bike with guns drawn. The crowd cheers.
I need a hero The hologram returns to all the male Justice League members as the ladies turn to the right as one and body roll in unison as the crowd cheers them on.
I'm holding out for a hero till the morning light The hologram changes to John and Hal flying together with their rings lit up as the ladies point to them.
He's gotta be sure and he's gotta be soon The hologram changes to Ollie about to let one of his arrows fly and then to Vic running whilst looking at his wristwatch. The ladies cross their arms in front of their chest and nod to the crowd and then step apart to stand straight and use their arms to move like hands on a clock face.
And he's gotta be larger than life The hologram changes to J'onn standing tall with arms crossed with all the male League members around and behind him. J'onn smiles widely at the tribute. The ladies stand with both arms raised above their heads together with fingers spread wide then they separate them in a wide circle down to their sides
Larger than life Diana steps towards the crowd and pointing at Clark singing. Clark's eyes glow red in response as Diana steps back into line with the ladies as they sway from side to side.

Zee steps out of the line and starts to sing. Bruce rubs his chin and stares enigmatically at her.
Somewhere after midnight Zee looks up to the skyline as it darkens and a full moon appears.
In my wildest fantasies She looks at the crowd and smiles saucily as she wiggles her eyebrows. The crowd laughs at her implication.
Somewhere just beyond my reach She reaches out with both arms straining towards the crowd.
There's someone reaching back for me She withdrew her arms into a questioning pose.
Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat The other ladies step up to join her singing and they raise their arms in front of them towards the ceiling.
It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet Diana runs towards Clark jumping into his arms as he eagerly catches her. She wraps one arm around his neck and adopts a swooning pose as the crowd cheers and loud wolf whistles and catcalls are heard. Before Clark can hold her close she kisses him quickly on the cheek winks at him and jumps out of his arms to float back to centre stage. Bruce smirks at Clark as Wally elbows him and John and Hal slap him on the back good naturedly.

The ladies all sing as they repeat the chorus again.
I need a hero All ladies face the crowd and bring their arms together to the centre of their chest with hands in fists and pull them apart in the classic Superman pulling his shirt apart pose.
I'm holding out for a hero till the end of the night The ladies clasp their hands in front of them in a hopeful manner as a picture of Batman appears.

I'm holding out for a hero till the end of the nightEach woman cross their arms in front of their chest and raise their eyebrow at their respective men. The crowd cheers in appreciation at the subtle message.

Shayera steps out and begins to sing as John's eyes glow bright green.
Up where the mountains meet the heavens above The ladies stand and form a tent above their heads with their arms like a mountain then open their hands to reach for the sky

Out where the lightning splits the sea A hologram shows Billy shooting lightning at the ocean, as the ladies point at him.
I can swear that there's someone somewhere watching me Shay looks around searchingly then wraps her arms around herself.
Through the wind and the chill and the rain The ladies pose as if they are being blown away by a strong wind, and then wrap their arms around themselves as if freezing, then raise their hands as if it was going to rain. The crowd laughs and claps enthusiastically.
And the storm and the floodThe hologram changes to show an incoming storm and a rising flood. The ladies point to the pictures.
I can feel his approach like a fire in my blood Shay walks slowly toward John whilst running her hands from her belly towards her face. John gulps and his eyes seem to glow even brighter. When she reaches him she reaches a hand out to stroke his cheek as John closes his eyes. The crowd watch in fascination. She drops her hand and steps back to the crowd.

The hologram changes to all members of the Justice League as the music fades away and the ladies turn around and walk slowly away

Once the music stops the crowd goes wild with applause, screaming their appreciation, the wolf whistles deafening in their appreciation as the ladies once again step forward to bow gratefully to their colleagues. The women turn to walk away except Zee and Helena who stand patiently waiting for the crowd to quieten. Bruce and Vic wait with bated breath as they stare at their women. Clark uses his super speed to zoom over to Diana and whispers in her ear, "Di, we need to talk later", Diana turns to him and nods in ascent.

Once they do Zee waves her hand over Helena's hands a violin and bow appears. Helena places the violin under her chin and makes herself comfortable and raising the bow waits. The strains of a song beginning can be heard as Helena starts to play.

Zee remembers back to when they were so happy before everything went to so wrong. Looking at Bruce she can see he is also stepping back in time as he looks at her with understanding in his eyes. He smiles at her which gives her heart hope. After all that Bruce had been through in his life she knew it was going to be hard to win his heart. But she had been through a hell of her own and survived so she knew they could have a future together if he would only give them a chance.

She continues to sing. Meanwhile Vic stares lovingly at Helena who has her eyes closed lost in her playing. The crowd is enraptured by both women, surprised by Helena's prowess with the violin and Zee's sweet voice singing.

She looks at Bruce again and glares knowing the words and her implication would be clear. Bruce smiles nervously and tugs at his collar knowing she is meaning Selena. What Zee doesn't know is that Bruce had ended it once and for all with Selena about three months ago knowing that he did not want to play their game any longer. Saying Selena was upset was an understatement she did not take it well and let him know in a very vocal and colourful way. His ears were ringing and left cheek was burning long after she had left the rooftop they had been on. He blinks to find Zee is glaring at him again as she continues to sing. He gulps knowing that she had misunderstood why he was reminiscing.

Zee walks slowly towards Bruce as the crowd waits in anticipation. With her heart in her eyes she sings with all the love for him she has. Bruce smiles at her slowly with an answer in his eyes. Zee's eyes widen in surprise and blinking back tears she nods at him and slowly backs away towards Helena again as she sings.

And some way all the love that we had can be saved
Whatever it takes we'll find a way

Zee poured everything into the words as she now knows that Bruce is willing to give them a chance. Her happiness is there for all to see and they look at Bruce Wayne to see him smiling with love in his eyes at her. Operation Sucker Punch had finally given Zee what she had been fighting for all this time, a chance at a future with Bruce. She couldn't believe it, she looked at Diana who had her hands covering her mouth in shock with tears of her own. Zee nodded to her with gratitude in her eyes and mouthed "thank you". Diana shook her head mouthing back "all you" and pointing at her. Zee grinned and continued to sing.

Zee finishes singing as Helena wraps the song up with the final excited strains of her violin playing and as she ends the final note the crowd erupts. Cheers of "Bravo" and "Beautiful" are heard above the enthusiastic applause as the ladies look to see Bruce and Vic wolf whistling at them loudly. They grin at both men. Vic runs to Helena picking her up in a bodily hug and swinging her round and round as Helena laughs with joy. She then slaps him on the shoulder to stop as she was getting dizzy. The crowd laugh then clap as Vic brings her back to the ground and begins to kiss her. Helena happily obliges.

Bruce walks towards Zee smiling, Zee remembers it was a smile from when they were a couple. Zee waits with anticipation and bated breath. The crowd also quietens watching this tender moment. Once Bruce reaches Zee he reaches out and strokes her cheek lovingly.

"Zee you are so beautiful and I don't deserve you after all I have put you through-"

"Bruce, you don't-", she stops midsentence due to Bruce placing a finger gently on her lips to quieten her.

"Yes..I..do, you know me, you know my life and yet you still want to be with me"

She nods vigorously and Bruce laughs.

"Ok Zee you win let's give it a shot"

"Oh Bruce", she thumps him playfully on the shoulder, "you idiot, we both win"

"You're right", he says as he grabs her and pulls her close, "but I am the ultimate winner because now I have you"

Zee wraps her arms around his neck saying, "Always Bruce, alw-", Bruce kissed her into silence as the crowd erupts once again with deafening cheers, wolf whistles and appreciative applause.
