A/N: Well folks so very sorry for late update. Busy busy busy...I hope I done this one justice. I now know why I just couldn't picture Ollie with Dinah (no offence to their shippers!). Because in my eyes he belongs with Felicity. Thank you Arrow...love love the tv series...fans will know the references to the show...now an Olicity shipper...putting together my first fanfic of them soon...Anyways I do not own DC comics or the Arrow series or any character here. John and Shayera were oblivious to their surroundings, so wrapped up in each other. After a few minutes, Kal gave a discreet cough to catch their attention.
Nope
The crowd were standing there awkwardly not knowing whether to sit back down or make their way to the buffet and bar for refreshment.
"Ok guys we are all very happy for you both and we get the picture but can we move things along now?" Wally shouted.
Nope
Wally sped over to Diana and tapped her on the shoulder. She stepped away from Clark's embrace and listened to what he had to say. After a few moments she nodded and patting his cheek smiled gratefully. Wally then sped over to the still kissing couple and rolling his eyes, gently took the microphone from Shayera's dangling hand. He leaned over and yelled in their ears "Get a room!", to which the crowd burst out in laughter and wolf whistles.
THIS caused John and Shayera to jump apart and look around the room startled that everyone was staring amusedly at them. Shayera blushed the same colour as her hair and John's cheeks were slightly ruddy as they bowed awkwardly at the crowd who burst into applause again. They turned to each other and grinned then offering his arm which Shayera gratefully grabbed, they made their way to the bar.
"Sheesh, it's definitely getting hot in here and we know whose getting lucky tonight eh?" Wally grinned nodding his head in their direction, to the accompaniment of louder wolf whistles and catcalls.
Shayera's head spun around as she glared at Wally whose smile disappeared instantly as he lifted a hand pleadingly. The crowd burst into more uproarious laughter, suddenly Shayera turned to glare at them all. They stopped instantly and took a step back. Patrick in the middle of the crowd, was still cheering not seeing Shayera's reaction, he raised his hand and was fist pumping the air while yelling, "Whoop, whoop, whoop….let's get it on!"
Victor who was standing next to him elbowed him hard.
"Hey Vic what's with trying to break my ribs man!"
"That's not all that will be broken, if you don't shut up you idiot!" Vic said whilst nodding his head in Shayera and John's direction.
Patrick turned to see Shayera giving him a death stare and John using his ring to make a replica of Shayera's mace. Patrick's eyes widened like saucers in his head and he promptly melted into a puddle.
The crowd slowly turned to Shayera who turned to John. They promptly burst into uproarious laughter, the crowd turned to one another shrugged their shoulders and joined in with their laughter.
Wally spoke into the microphone, "Well folks someone up there is smiling down on us tonight as nothing major has come up. So Operation Sucker Punch will be taking a short break so we can all mingle and the Justice League Divas and I can grab a quick drink and snack before we power on to our finale!"
The crowd cheered loudly, stomping their feet and clapping whilst chanting, "Operation Sucker Punch rocks"
"We know and thank you all for enjoying, but I would really enjoy a round of as many cocktails as I can get in before the break is over!"
"Wally!" he turned to see Bea, Diana, Mari, Zee, Shayera, Dinah and Helena glaring at him.
"Sheesh, I was just joking!" rolling his eyes "it's like having 7 mothers…." he paused when he saw the glares become death stares, "Um, did I say mothers….I meant sisters…7 gorgeous wonderful sisters!"
The crowd guffawed and snickered as Bea, Diana, Mari, Zee, Shayera, Dinah and Helena rolled their eyes and shook their heads at him as he sped over to the bar.
The crowd dispersed to make their way towards the bar and buffet and some stood around in animated conversation about Operation Sucker Punch.
J'onn, Ollie and Wally were at the bar with their signature drinks in their hands talking.
Dinah, Bea, Hal and other leaguers were helping themselves to the wonderful food on display. Dinah and Bea high fived each other as they passed by and grinning like Cheshire cats. Wally sped over to them both.
"What about me ladies? Where's my high five?"
Dinah and Bea turned to one another and then with a twinkle in their eyes leaned over and kissed Wally on both cheeks.
"Thank you Wally"
"Gracias Wallace"
Wally stood there gaping like a fish for about five seconds then grabbing both cheeks and with a big grin on his face, fell backwards in a dead faint.
Dinah, Bea, Hal and a few other leaguers nearby all rushed to his side to aid him.
John and Shayera were in a corner continuing their make out session oblivious to what was happening around them.
Mari, Greg, Justin, Vic and Patrick were in the middle of the room talking avidly about going out after the party to continue celebrating, and debating about the best nightclub to hit. Greg had his arm wrapped around Mari who was leaning on him with her hand resting on his chest in contentment. Tugging on his shirt, Mari pulled Greg down to whisper in his ear.
"I finally lassoed my Cowboy, eh?"
"Yaw certainly did little lady", he whispered back.
"Want me to lasso you later for real?"
Greg's eyes bugged out of his head as a slow grin appeared on his face and he leaned down to whisper in her ear.
"You wear that cowgirl outfit from earlier darlin' and you got yerself a deal pardner"
Mari smiled and turned her head slightly to kiss his lips gently.
"Don't forget your handcuffs, baby"
Greg stood up straight and his eyes glazed over. Mari giggled as Justin stood there calling his name and waving his hand in front of Greg's face to no avail.
Zee and Bruce were walking towards the bar, when suddenly Zee stopped turned to Bruce and reached out and pinched his arm hard.
"Owwww, what the hell Zee?"
"Are you really Bruce Wayne?"
"Of course it's me Zee, who the hell else would it be?"
"You're not under any drugs or a spell are you?" she asked looking at him closely.
"Excuse me?"
"I'm just a little worried that I will wake up tomorrow and this will be only a dream….granted best dream ever….but nonetheless a dream"
"Zee it really is me"
"I know that now, but you have been running from me for so long now that you have stopped…..well I am a little bit weary of your feelings"
Bruce reached out and tipped her face up to his.
"Zatanna Zatarra, we have known each other most of our lives. You have always believed in me, even when I didn't believe in myself. So when I tell you I love you…..I really do….believe me"
Tears welled up in her eyes, "I'm doing my best"
"Believe in us….and believe this", he leaned down to gently kiss her on the lips," I love you"
She beamed up at him and grabbing him by his lapels pulled him down to properly kiss him.
Diana was standing looking around the room at all the wonderful people in the room and her friends that had managed to find happiness knowing that Operation Sucker Punch had achieved most of the goals they had set. She felt a hand at her back.
"Hey Di, would you like a drink?"
"Yes please Kal"
"What an awesome night this has been, you ladies and Wally really made it extra special. One we will long remember and a night I will never ever forget"
"We were trying to as the saying goes put the fire under certain butts!"
Clark burst into laughter at her use of phrase, "That you all certainly did"
"Did you get my message, Kal?"
"I most certainly did, boy did I ever", he smiled dreamily.
"Kal, I've waited so long for you and I was not sure we would ever have a chance but-", she looked down at her feet as she spoke, scared of looking him in the eyes.
"Di, I love you"
"-if you don't feel the way I do I understand. Truly I do, you can't force a person to feel-", she continued, nervously picking at her dress.
"Di did you just hear what I said?" Clark asked gently.
"-something they don't. I mean all I have ever wanted for you is happiness and if that is not with-"
"Diana, I love you", he repeated again a little louder.
"-me, then I will understand-"
Clark grabbed her and kissed her into silence. Diana's eyes widened in surprise but then slowly closed as she lost herself in his kiss. The room went quiet as everyone turned to look at them and they all smiled and sighed.
FINALLY
When they parted the room burst into applause and cheers at the new development for their two Original members and the biggest hitters as well as the heroes that most if not all looked up to.
They both turned red and shyly waved in gratitude to the crowd who only clapped and cheered harder for them both. Clark reached for Diana's hand and bringing it up to his lips kissed her knuckles and then wrapped it around his arm then proceeded to guide her towards the bar. The crowd continued to applaud them.
Clark leaned over and whispered in her ear "If you didn't hear me before, I love you Diana Prince, Wonder Woman, Princess of the Amazons and keeper of my heart"
Diana's heart flipped at his words she stopped and turning to face him said, "I love you too Clark Kent, Superman, Kal-el of Krypton, you have always been the one and you have no idea how happy I am you feel the same way as I do"
They grinned at each other.
"But we need to take things slow", they said at the same time.
They burst into laughter.
"Would you go on a date with me Diana?" Clark asked.
"I thought you would never ask"
They hugged, and Diana let out a squeal as Clark suddenly lifted her off her feet and spun her around. They laughed with joy and when Clark set her down on her feet they gently kissed. A kiss of promise and of a new beginning for them both.
All in the room heaved a big sigh of happiness for the power couple.
Oliver broke away from his group and walked up to Vic and Helena giving them both hugs of congratulation, "You two deserve a weekend away to celebrate your engagement tonight"
"We are happy to stay and celebrate at home", Vic said looking at Helena hungrily.
"Yes babe….at home….our home", Helena whispered letting her eyes convey the message she would be moving back in with him.
"Well let me give you both an engagement present", he pulled out from his pocket an envelope and handed it to Helena, "it was meant to be a getaway for Dinah and I, but you both know how that worked out", he finished sadly.
Helena grabbed him in a hug, "I'm sorry it didn't work out with Dinah, Ollie. But your soul mate is still out there…I just know it! Why don't you hold onto that for when you find her?"
"Thanks Hel, but its slim pickings for us Vigilante's. You are just lucky you found yours already. Please accept this and you can both use it when you want I will organise to make it an open ticket until you both decide a date."
"Awww sweetie, thank you. Give it time you will find her….you will find love again"
"Yeah you will buddy, believe you me…I always believed that I was meant to be a loner. Then fate takes over", he smiled dreamily at Helena.
Ollie smiled at the happiness he could see between the couple. He remembers that was how Dinah and he used to be. Taking a deep breath he realised letting her go was the best thing for both of them, but the pain would take time to heal. He thought Dinah was his soul mate but now realises that their moment in time was gone. He just hoped that he would find his soulmate, one day, if he was lucky.
His phone started ringing and he pulled it out grimacing when he saw who was calling him and why.
"Felicity…"
"Well? What did she say? Did you get on your knees and beg like I told you to. I swear Oliver Queen if you ruin this I will make your trust fund disappear again and change your security code for the Foundry, capiche?"
"Felicity…"
"I mean you have one of the most gorgeous women in the world in your life….well you have several gorgeous women in your life. Speaking of which….make sure you take photos of them all I would love to see what gorgeous dresses they are wearing. I bet you Dinah and Diana would be smoking hot….not that the other ladies wouldn't be equally as hot…but you know-"
"Felicity!" Ollie sighed in frustration.
"Oh….right…sorry there I go babbling again….I mean I can't help it….sorry Oliver… it will stop now in 3…2….1"
"Dinah and I are over. Dinah is no longer in love with me. It's what's best for both of us"
Felicity could hear the sadness in his tone.
"I'm so sorry Oliver"
"I don't need your pity-"
"Excuuuuse me?...do you know who I am? When have I ever pitied you? You are a stubborn pigheaded mule who thinks he can take on the world by himself without anyone's help, well good thing Team Arrow couldn't care less and stand by your side when you do need us. You and Dinah were perfect together, and then you let the arrow in your pants take control and now Dinah is gone...Omigod...Oliver I am so sorry...I just overstepped my bounds...I am going to shut up now...oh God I really am sorry...you know how I get when I get riled up..."
"Yes Felicity I do", Ollie sighed deeply "but you are right in some respects. I prefer to work alone to protect those I love my family and my friends. Because my enemies would not hesitate to hurt or kill you all if they knew how deeply I care for you all. As to DInah and I, I royally screwed up on us and I will have to live with that. But that is life and I will learn to accept her choice, though right now I would like to get absolutely plastered to numb the pain"
"Oliver Queen don't you dare! You know what happened last time!"
"But-"
"Noooo! You will drink responsibly and enjoy this night with your Justice League friends, you all deserve it. When you have had enough you will go back home, ALONE! You will text or ring me to say you are home. If you don't so help me God Oliver Queen I will turn all yours cars and motorcycle into blocks of metal"
Ollie burst out laughing at her tirade trying to fathom how she could accomplish such a feat.
"Bitch with Wi-fi-", she said as Ollie grinned with pride "and you are not the only one with Superheros on speed dial"
Ollie's smile disappeared as he tried to figure who she could mean. He knew she was friends with Dinah, Ray and Barry who was Wally's uncle, but he knew none of them could turn his vehicles into scrap metal.
"Say hello to Diana, Clark, Bruce and Victor for me would you Oliver?"
Ollie's jaw dropped. How did she know them? Did she hack and manage to find their secret identities?
Felicity knowing exactly his train of thought said, "I do have scruples thank you very much. They came to me one day to ask for my help in trying to find out about CADMUS and Amanda Waller as Barbara Gordon was out of commission and Lucius Fox had recommended me highly. I have to tell you I nearly fainted when they showed up at my apartment. I mean they looked like normal people, but then when they changed into Superheroes to convince me to help...well that was a dream come true...well not that I dreamt that ever but...sorry got off track again...let's just say they trusted me enough with their secrets because they knew I was keeping yours that I trusted them enough to help them. Besides Bruce owes me one for upgrading his computer systems at Wayne tech to be almost impenetrable. So if I ask him to get Clark to turn all your babies into cubes of metal art, I know it will get done"
"When the hell did this happen and why was I not told?"
"They needed my help Ollie and last time I checked you are not my father or brother for that matter. So who I choose to help is my business not YOURS! Got it?"
"Sorry Felicity, just a little on edge tonight after everything that has happened"
Felicity sighed "I understand Ollie all good. I will let you go now and enjoy yourself. Please remember what I asked you to do. You need time to heal not jump right into something else with God knows who."
"Okay Felicity, can you do me a favour please before you go. The tickets for Dinah and I could you change them to Helena Bertinelli and Vic Sage and make it an open ticket? I promise I will buzz you when I am home"
"You better because I will be up watching movies until you do. You so do NOT want to forget to call me"
Ollie smiled, she was always watching out for all of the Team Arrow members, always waited until they were all safely home before resting herself. The mother hen of the team, not that he would ever tell her that. She would melt down his computer system if he did. His smile turned into a grin, she really cared about everyone. Heart of gold and a ray of light in his world of darkness.
"Will do, boss"
Felicity rolled her eyes.
"By the way Ollie could you let Bruce know that I have an updated Virus protection program that no-one on earth can break through. I already updated our systems. If he wants to pick it up or have me go to the bat cave to set it up just let me know"
"What the hell? You've been to the bat cave?"
Felicity burst into laughter.
