Chapter 9
In the "Dark Lord's" hideout(alias former building of the republic city council):
"Master I have followed the kids as you wished it turned out that you were right about them. They are the kids of the prophecy." said a figure clothed all in black. In the dark his master smirked: "Perfect. " then he turned to a third figure that stood hidden in the shadows: "So your vision has become true just perfect." "But sir they are planning to take you out. What are we supposed to do?" asked the dark figure. "Then let them Kaito just let them. When they come we have a big surprise for them in store." replied his master. Then he laughed evily: "Gentlemen we've got work to do. When the Avatar comes to conquer us we will do what so many people tried but failed at doing. Wewill destroy the Avatar cycle, once and for all!"
A week later at the underground fighting base:
Afetr a week of training the six kids became really good at their weapons. Hadoka could use her whip and waterbending in perfect combination, holding enemies down with her whip while trapping them in water. Karana could hit with her arrows nearly everey target and could hunt perfectly with them. Also, thanks to Kai and Mai she became quit good at airbending. Mai proved to be not so good with knives so she used her flying staff to fight. Ming was advanced at using his boomerrang although he sometimes hit his teammates with it. Chang learned to use his staff very well and he could really create small fire storms with it. Liang learned how to bend metall in four days and how to bend his daggers with this power in six days.
Right now all of them were standing on a roof together with Kai and two younger kids from the underground bunker. "Okay. Karana and Mai you two come with me. We patrol through the air. Chang, Ming and Hiro you three take the west and south of the city to Hadoka, Liang and Sakura you three patrol north and east. We got reports from all over the town about muuggers and robberies. Look if you can discover any leads if it were the rebels or the henchmen of the "Dark Lord".
The kids departed in said groups and began looking for susspicious things. Hadoka, Liang and Sakura began searching in the north first. It wasn't long until all three kids were talking to each other like non-stop, about how awsome it was to train and how excited they were to conquer the "Dark Lord".
Because of their talking, they didn't notice the three man that were following them, until it was to late. The three of them accidently turned into an ally, which was a death end. When they turned around, they saw the three man standing there and blocking the of them, the leader, spoke up: " Well, well, well look who it is three helpless little kids. Guess you don't know that you are deep in our teretory." "Who are you?" asked Hadoka while shifting into an bending stance along with Liang and Hadoka. The man to the right side of the leader spoke up now: "You don't know who we are? Let me introduce us to you. We belong to the triple threats triad. If you haven't heard it, we are the most dangerous gang here in Republic City." Then the three man began attacking the kids with fire, water and earth.
Of course the three kids could dogde two of the elements easily, but they were struggling with the Sakura and Liang raised an earth ball around them that could shield them from the harsh attacks." Guys, we need a plan, any suggestions?" asked Hadoka. Both, Sakura and Liang shook their heads. "Okay. I have an idea. You two dig a hole into the ground and we flee through it." suggested Hadoka.
They were close to make their plan real when suddenly Sakura and Liang couldn't hold the shield upright anymore. "And what are we doing now?" asked Sakura with a panicked voice. "Running for our lifes maybe?" replied Liang back in the same fearfull way as the little girl.
They fought bravily. Hadoka blocked every water attack and even managed to knock the waterbender out with a big peace of , in the meantime Sakura and Liang raised earth wall after earth wall to protect them and attacked with boulder after boulder.
Finally only the firebender of the three attackers was standing. The three kids thought they could handle him with ease, but they were wrong. After a few minutes, all three of them were on the floor panting and breathing for air. Just as the evil firebender was about to end their lives a dark figure jumped down from the roof and deflected the deadly blow. The two fighfed for a few minutes then the dark figure knocked the firebender out with a large gust of air.
Slowly the dark figure turned around. The three children wanted to thank him but just as they were about to open their mouths they were knocked out from behind. The last thing each of them saw, were two evil smirking man that grabbed them and dragged them in a black Sato mobile truck.
After hours of patrolling in the different parts of the city, Karana, Mai, Kai, Ming, Liang and Hiro met up again on a rooftop near their hideout. They were waiting for the rest of them to return for nearly thirty minutes. "Man. How long do they need to patrol their parts of the city? Why can't they finally show up." mouned Ming. "Maybe they just got lost. You kids know what. I'm gonna bring Hiro back to the hideout, you wait here for the others. Okay?" said remaining children nodded.
They waited for hours and finally they began to get really worried. "They should have returned hours ago! What if something happened to them!" said Chang while pacing nervously. "Relax. Maybe they just got lost. Republic City is very big." said Mai altgough anybody could hear her worry for her friends in her voice.
"Maybe you're right. Let's go back to hideout. Maybe they have forgotten to meet us here and went straight to the they are waiting there for us." said Karana. So the four kids all headed back to the hideout.
When they came there they asked Kai: "Have the others arrived here? We thought mayne they have gone directly back to the hideout after patrol." Kai thought carefully: " That was a good idea, but no they havn't arrived here. I worry that something..." Just then he was interupted by a man who came running towards them." Avatar Karana. Finally I have found you. There's a man on the caller who wants to speak to you." he said panting in exhaustion.
The four friends looked at each other in confusion. Who would that be? Only a few people knew that Karana was the Avatar. Slowly and with a bad feeling they walked towards the room where the so called callers, some sort of new communication object, stood.
The man who brought them the message of the call pointed to one of the callers. "He said it's very important." then he dissapeared trough a door, which he closed behund himself.
"Who do you think is that?" asked Mai. "Don't know. And I don't have any idea of who ot might be either. The only way to find out is taking the call." replied Karana." Wait what if it is somebody dangerous?" asked Ming. "Well he can't hurt me when he talks to me on the caller." said Karana. "Yeah. But I heard that there are people who are able to track down the signal of the caller and find out the adress of the place where it stands. Maybe our unknown caller wants excactly that as a result." tought Chang aloud. "But guys. We have to take the call. The guy from before said it's important. Maybe the one who is calling us has important information for us." said Karana as she walked over to the caller and took it in her hands. "Hello?" she asked shyly.
"Hello Avatar. It's nice to hear your voice again, although it sounds different from your last one." said the voice on the other side of the line. Karana froze up in shock 'Wait I knew this voice.' she thought. "What do you want Rohan ?" she spat. 'Strange why do I know his name ? Was he a friend of Korra ?' "So I see you still remember my name by my voice from your last life. Well, well, well Avatar, let's get to the point of what I want from you. You see I and a friend of me picked up three of your friends. I'm sure you miss them already." smirked Rohan evilly. Karana's eyes widened in fear and realization then she spat angrily: " What have you done to them?!" " Oh nothing dear Avatar but if you don't hand yourself over I certainly will." In the background there were muffled voices to be heard, voices that belonged to their friends. " Karana don' t do it! We can handle it!" " Quiete you three ! Now Avatar let's get back to business in three days you will come to the spirit Portale, unterstood ? There you will hand yourself over to us and in each exchange we will gave you your friends back. Sounds like a fair deal, huh ? " said Rohan still evilly grinning. "What do you want with me ?I'm not a full Avatar yet, I'm useless to you." replied Karana. " Belive me I have my reasons. Don't forget Avatar, three days, or I can't garanty that your friends will be save. " this was the last thing he said, then the line went dead.
For a long time the kids just starred, to shock es to say anything. When Kai finally came in to ask them how it went and who the mystirious caller was, Karana slowly turned around and said Barry audiable: " The rebels got Hadoka, Liang and Sakura."
At the Fire Ferret training Academy:
"We have searching for one week now were are the kids ?" said master Eska, pacing nervously in the big meeting hall of the six masters. " Relax maybe they are just lost..." "Or were attacked by our enemies." interupted Mako, what Opal was about to say. " I think you're right. That's why I thought that we should sent down a search party for them, in the town." replied Asami. "And who would leader that search party? " asked Eska. "Well I thought about Mako, Bolin and me. We three know Republic City better than any of you." and were Asami the question. After thinking about it for a while Eska said that they could go. In that night Mako, Bolin and Asami were getting ready to leave, packed only with bag pack with some clothes. " Strange, isn't it ? After all these years we are finally returning to Republic City, our birth place. " began Asami dreamingly. " I know, isn't it awsome ? Republic City here we come again " croud Bolin cheerfully out. Mako chuckled at this after all this years his younger brother hasn't lost one bit of his humor and enthusiasm. 'I just hope we can fin those kids. Republic City is a huge town.' he thought as he and his friends took some hidden path which leader right to the city.
