Garry's Alive: Part 2

Ib awoke in the aparment she and Garry had shared for the last month since his return. She could barely believe it still...Garry had found her even after all the time that had passed between when they met and Garry's sort-of death. He looked the same as then, although he was much thinner at first, but now that he had been eating regularly he looked much healthier. And hadn't stopped smiling since they had been reunited. Ib sat up and looked around the bedroom, Garry had already left to get his new work from his office. It was nice that he picked up his work orders and then did them at home. Ib liked it alot, she could spend more time with him then and she didn't have to worry if he'd get back alright like late night jobs. she decided to get up and start on some food since Garry would be back soon to eat with her.
After dressing she noticed Garry had left in such a hurry that his jacket was still laying on the back the couch where he had put it last night after their walk through the park. Ib picked up the jacket, feeling the soft and worn material between her fingers with a small smile. She brought it close, hugging the material, thinking with a smile,' It smells like him...God I missed this smell. But now he's back...and he's not leaving anytime soon.'
Ib looked up hearing the door unlock as Garry entered the room, a box of doughnuts in one hand and his work in the other, "Hey...you're up earlier then expected. I brought home doughnuts for breakfast."
Ib smiled, she really loved how sweet her boyfriend could be. She walked over and hugged him from behind as he set down the box and his work. He smiled, turning to her, "Yes my dear? Is something on your mind?"
Ib shook her head smiling, "Just happy that you're home Garry."
Garry chuckled lightly, the same soft laugh he aways had. "Still scared I'm going to dissapear? Ib I'm not going anywhere you know that."
Ib smiled snuggling into her boyfriend's side, "I know but I still missed you silly. So what's new for your job? What is it you do again?"
"I edit for a writer. It's easy work and it pays well enough. So how are you this morning dear?" Garry smiled down at Ib, who lovingly pecked him on the cheek with a kiss. Just as she was about to tell a short version of events the phone rang and Ib quickly picked it up.
"Hello? Oh hi mom. Yeah things are fine. Yes he's here...wait what are you talking about? No I haven't heard anything from anyone. Why do you ask?"

Garry looked down at Ib concerned when he noticed a look of confusion and a bit of worry cross her face but. He didn't know how to ask if she was ok.

"What? She's coming here? To see me...and meet my boyfriend. No that's fine...I'm sure he'll be good. Mom are you sure she's not gonna hurt him? Yeah but you know how she gets...okay. Yeah see you soon. Love you, bye mom." Ib hung up with a small sigh and set the phone back on it's wall holder.
"Something wrong Ib? You look pretty stressed out." Garry looked down at Ib curious to what she had just heard from her mother. "Whats wrong? Is there anyway I can help?"
Ib shook her head and smiled a bit looking up into garry's blue eyes, "My sister's coming to visit."
Garry smiled, " Oh! Is that all? That doesn't sound too bad! You really had me worried. who's your sister?"
Ib sighed smiling sadly, " You've met her once before Garry...he name is Mary."
That one word turned Garry's smile into a look of worry and fear all over again, he knew Mary alright, after all she was the reason he'd been trapped in that godforesaken world for all those years. Now she was coming to meet him...how surprized she would be.

Ib busied herself around the house while Garry set to cooking dinner. It had been quite some time since he and Mary had spoken, hell she had attepmted to kill him and trap him and Ib in that damn demonic toy box. He was still waking up at night with nightmares of being trapped, Ib always looked at him with worry the next morning.
"Ib are you sure you don't want me to help you clean?" Garry turned from the stove watching as his lovely girlfriend sat a bit tired out and nervous.
" No Garry it's fine I'm just super nervous to have you and Mary in the same room. She did try to kill you before." Ib's brown eyes shone with worry as she looked up to her loving boyfriend.
"I'm not going to let anything happen tonight. She needs to know about us and it'll be a great time to start over don't you think?" Garry's gentle smile melted all Ib's fears.
"Okay you win but your meal's gonna burn if you're not careful Garry." That got him moving. Garry scrambled with the meal and there was a knock at the door.

"Oh god she's here! You're gonna be nice right?"
Garry gave her a look that said, 'Are you serious right now?' but he quickly nodded telling her to answer the door.
Upon answering the door Ib was quickly tackled in a hug by her sister Mary. "Ib I missed you so much!" The blonde clung to her sister in a happy hug tackle leaving both of them giggling as they fell to the ground.
"Mary! You're gonna scare my boyfriend. " The brunette smiled sitting up and Mary smiled looking at her.
"Well? Where is this 'mister right?' Mom says you don't stop talking about him. And why is it you never told me about him?" Mary helped her sister up and started to peak around in the house. Her blood ran cold seeing the well worn, ragged jacket hung on the couch arm.

No way...He's dead. There's no way he could have gotten out of the toy box. I know there isn't! I destroyed his rose!
Ib laid a hand on her shoulder pulling Mary from her thoughts. "Ready to meet my boyfriend sis? He was really excited to meet you."
"Yeah. So where is he? I'm surprised he hasn't come out yet." Mary was trying to calm her nerves. After all Garry was dead, and she had killed him. Maybe the jacket was Ib's and that was all.
"He's in making dinner. Come into the kitchen. We just got some new roses for the table. A mixed boquet." Ib quietly pulled her sister to the kitchen just as Garry pulled the meal from the oven and turned to them causing Mary to freeze where she was, unsure and unbelieving of the man standing before her.
"Hello again Mary. I see you're looking well." Garry set down the chicken he had been cooking in the oven and walked over gently taking Ib's hand. " You look like you've seen a ghost. Is everything alright?"
Mary just looked at the man holding her sister's hand. This was the man she had killed. He was dead, she knew he was. Yet there he stood, holding HER sister's hand. She wanted to pull Ib away from him. He didn't belong there. She wanted him gone. Ib was her's and he wasn't going to ruin things this time.
"Get away from my sister. You're dead!" Mary's anger came out of nowhere and Ib quickly intervened, putting herself between Her sister and the man she loved.
"Mary stop! I love him. And I just want you both to be around. Why did you abandon Garry in the toy box?" Mary tore her gaze from Garry and looked to her sister seeing the quesion in her eyes. There was also fear in those kind Brown eyes. How could this man have made her sister so happy these few months they were a couple?
"I just wanted out of that hell...I thought we could be friends, family even. You were just so unwilling to leave without him! I didn't want to leave you behind! I just wanted out...I wanted to finally have a family." Mary's confession made Ib a bit sad. Her sister was so willing to kill Garry to keep Ib for herself? Why couldn't she have just left with them both?
"Mary, I know you thought it was best...but you hurt Garry...and he got out of the toy box on his own. Why didn't you just talk to us both back then?" Ib gently took Mary's hand telling her things were okay between them.
"I thought if you knew the truth then you'd leave me behind." Mary just wanted to move away from Garry. She really felt uneasy that he looked the same. Did he not age while in the toy box? He looks the same as the day I trapped him there.
"Listen Mary, I was upset that you tried to kill me, but if you hadn't...I wouldn't have been able to be with Ib at all...Can we start over? As friends?" Garry stepped foreward offering a hand to Mary as she looked at him surprised. "People may not age in the toy box, but I did learn more about myself there."
Mary hesitantly took the hand offered to her. Was he really trying to make amends for all that time in the toy box? Garry smiled pulling her into a hug and then Ib as well.
"We are going to be family after all Mary. I don't plan on letting Ib be the one that got away. Now lets eat ok?" Garry lead the three of them over to the table and as dinner progressed Mary found that maybe, just maybe Garry was right for Ib. Though she'd have to keep a close eye on him.
" Oh and Garry, welcome back home, I'm glad now you came back." Ib smiled at Mary who smiled back at her sister and Garry.
Garry smiled it was good to be home. He had Ib and a family now, and he thought things were looking up. That's when the little blue doll poked it's head out of his pocket before returning to sleep. Neither of them needed to know about his little friend. At least...not yet.

The End.
