The Next Morning – Lilly's POV
We finally fell asleep around 2AM, so exhausted I basically passed out. I don't remember falling asleep, but I know I did because of my dream. We didn't live in the apartment, but in a real house again, much larger than Cody's parents' house. It was SO much nicer than the apartment, but then again, this IS our home. Nothing is better than our home….
My eyes slowly fluttered open to see it was just barely light outside, so I knew it was still really early. I let out a small yawn and stretched a bit, feeling Cody's arm tighten around me. I smiled to myself cuddled back against him, still feeling worn out and tired. I was starting to doze off again when I heard a yawn come from the other bedroom that sounded like Dakota.
I didn't think much of it until I heard claws clicking on the wood floor and a light scratch on our bedroom door followed by him quietly saying "Mom, Dad, are you awake?" I opened my eyes and lifted my head, saying "I am, honey. Come on in." The handle clicked down as the door opened a little bit and he looked in.
I smiled again and quietly said "Morning, honey!" He smiled too and said "Morning, Mom. Dad's still asleep?" I nodded and asked "I take it you guys are getting hungry?" He chuckled a bit and said "Yeah, I'm kinda hungry….I can wait, though."
"Okay. Probably won't be very much longer…." I said, smiling at him. He nodded as I stretched a little again, but I could see on his face he was either thinking or worried about something. "Honey, you alright?" I asked, breaking his trance he seemed to be in.
"Oh, y-yeah, I'm alright…..Just….thinking." He said as he turned around and walked out back toward their room. I heard him sigh as he walked away, which got me a little worried, so I got up and gently moved off the bed so I didn't wake Cody. I went out to see him walking into their room, his tail dragging across the floor and I knew he was upset about something.
I walked down to their room and stuck my head in as he laid down, saying "Dakota, what's bothering you?" He looked up at me and said "I think I'm….Not feeling well…." I could tell he was lying, so I went in and put my paw under his jaw, lifting his head up and saying "I know when you're lying to me, honey….What's got you upset?"
He sighed again and pushed my paw away, saying "I don't know….Really, I don't. I've just been feeling depressed." I laid down in front of him and asked "Why would you be depressed?" He shrugged and said "I have no idea." I nuzzled him as I said "Well, it's gotta be something….Do you regret having kids?"
His eyes went wide and he said "What, no!? Of course I don't! They're the greatest thing to ever happen in my life! Why would you say that!?" I gently smiled at him and said "I was only asking, honey….No need to get upset."
He sighed again and said "Sorry, Mom….Didn't mean to get mad…." I giggled a bit and said "It's okay….So, what else might it be? Pent up from not having sex?" He blushed cherry red and looked away, quietly saying "No, it's definitely not that…."
I smiled and said "Just ruling things out. Only other thing I can think of is you have something you need or want to do, but can't." He looked back at me and said "But, there's not. At least, not that I can think of….Well, I do feel kinda pent up from not really doing anything really active recently."
I smiled more and said "I think that might be it! Why don't you go out for a little and see how you feel? Maybe just go for a run…." He smiled too and said "Okay, I think I will! I HAVE noticed I've gained a bit of weight the last couple months..."
"Well, that makes sense. You and Crystal are always together, even if it's laying around all day. Remember you used to go for a run every morning?" I asked, giggling. He chuckled and said "Yeah, kinda. So, you think I just need to get out and be active more again?"
I nodded and said "I think so. Maybe ask Crystal if she'd like to join you." He smiled again and said "Okay. Thanks, Mom!" I hugged him and said "Just what I'm here for, honey….I'm gonna go back to bed now. Still kinda sleepy…."
He smiled slyly and said "I'll bet….Pretty obvious you two had a long night." I blushed a little, but smiled and said "Yeah, really long night! I'll see you later, honey!" He nodded as I got up and went out, going back and into Cody and I's bedroom to see him awake now and messing with his phone.
He saw me come in and smiled, saying "Morning, beautiful!" I giggled and jumped back up on the bed next to him, receiving a kiss as I said "Morning, babe! How long have you been up?" I laid down on his chest as he said "Just a few minutes. Where'd you go?"
I smiled and said "Had a little talk with Dakota. He's been feeling kinda depressed lately and we figured it's because he hasn't really been active like he used to be." He nodded and said "He really hasn't, huh? I take it he's gonna get back into it now?"
"Yep, he said he'll go out for a little bit later for a run. See if it helps." I said, licking his cheek. He chuckled and said "Well, that's good! And just what're you doing now?" I giggled again and said "Just saying I had a good time last night…." He kissed my forehead and lightly stroked my back, making me softly purr.
"I'm glad you did, and so did I. How're you feeling this morning?" He asked, smiling at me. "Pretty good! Still kinda tired, but I'm not surprised….You wore me out good." I said, giggling as I kissed him. He chuckled again as he said "Well, you did the same to me, you know…."
"Yeah, but I'm a girl, so I'm more tired…." I said, laying my head down on his shoulder. He put his arms around me and gently pulled me up more, saying "Okay, I'll let you get away with that…." I smiled again and slowly closed my eyes, starting to doze off again when I felt him gently move me off him and onto my side on the bed.
I opened my eyes to see him laying on his side as well, putting his hand on my stomach and asking "And how's our newest bundle of joy doing?" I smiled as I said "Seems to be doing just fine….Feel that bump yet?" He moved his hand around a little until he said "Oh, yep, right there!" I giggled a bit and closed my eyes again, getting more comfortable against him.
Dakota's POV
Mom went back down to their room after we talked a little while. Figured out I probably need to get more active again, so I was waiting for Crystal to wake up to ask if she'd like to come with me. I didn't have to wait very long until I felt her stir, waking up with a long, girly yawn that made me smile. I kissed her forehead as I said "Good morning, Crystal…."
She opened her eyes and smiled at me, sleepily saying "Morning, babe….What time is it?" I shrugged and said "Probably around nine or ten. Sleep good?" She nodded as she stretched a little, saying "Yeah, really good….How long have you been up?"
"Only about ten minutes or so. Mom and I had a bit a talk…." I said, weakly smiling. She lifted her head and asked "Oh? What was it about?" I didn't wanna tell her I was depressed from not getting out more, which now that I think about, just sounds dumb. Then again, I refuse to lie to her about anything….
I let out a sigh as I said "Well, I haven't been feeling all that happy recently….More along the lines of a bit of depression." She looked at me funny and asked "How come? You haven't seemed like it to me…." I smiled a bit and said "We think it's because I haven't been as active as I used to be. You know, exercise wise….I probably just need to get out more often."
She slowly nodded and said "Well, that makes sense….Be good for you, too. Not quite as fit as you once were…." I chuckled a little as she poked my stomach and giggled and I said "Yeah, yeah, I know….So, if I'm gonna be doing stuff more during the day, would you wanna join me?" She smiled and said "Of course I will! It'd be fun for us both to just get out and run for a while."
"Great! We can go later if you want to." I said, smiling at her. She nodded and said "Sounds good to me! Only question is where…." I kissed her nose as I said "Doesn't matter where we go….Just as long as we do." She softly purred a little and said "Yeah, you're right….Mind if I ask you something?"
"You can ask me anything you want to and you know it…." I said, chuckling. She giggled a bit and said "Well, you know how your Dad has his job working at the vet?" I nodded and she said "I was wondering if there's something we could do there as well….Or anywhere for that matter. Just being at home all day gets too boring…."
"Yeah, I know what you mean. We can ask him later when they're up." I said, now wondering what we COULD do. She smiled and cuddled against me, saying "Good….I love you, Dakota…." I smiled too and passionately kissed her, making her softly moan as I said "I love you too, Crystal…." She closed her eyes and laid her head against my neck, letting out a happy sigh as she did.
I smiled to myself and closed my eyes as I put my paw on her stomach, slowly rubbing her. She let out a soft, quiet moan and said "That feels really good…." I chuckled a little and kept going, making her purr more as I did. It wasn't long until I realized she was getting turned on as well when I could smell her heavenly scent in the air.
"Enjoying this, aren't you?" I asked and she knew exactly what I meant. She giggled and said "Quite a bit, yes! Feels amazing…." I kissed her forehead and said "I can tell….Your smell is intoxicating…." She giggled a little again and said "And I know you love it. In fact, it seems you REALLY love it…." I opened my eyes to see her looking down at me and noticed what she meant.
I couldn't help but blush as I said "I know….Can't help it…." She nuzzled me and quietly said "No need to worry, babe….Might wanna try and control it a bit since everyone's gonna be up soon." I was about to say something when we heard Alexis say "Actually, we're already awake."
Our heads shot up, nearly hitting each other and we saw them smiling at us. We both blushed a little and Crystal asked "How long have you two been up?" Alexis giggled a bit and said "Long enough….Need some alone time?" I weakly smiled and said "No, we don't….You know you shouldn't listen in on other people's conversations, right?"
"Well, it's kinda hard not to when you're both right there….Didn't seem to be trying to be quiet, either…." Chase said, chuckling a little. Crystal rolled her eyes and said "Okay, fair enough….Just wait, someday soon we'll hear you both talking about it with your own mates." Alexis shrugged and said "Wouldn't be the end of the world…."
"Still won't like it when it happens….Why don't you guys head out to the living room? Breakfast should be ready soon." I said, shifting around a little to hide my full erection. Alexis nodded and nudged Chase, saying "Come on, let's go eat. I'm hungry." He nodded and they got up, walking past us on their way out. We both saw Alexis glance down between us, most likely not by her own will.
Crystal sighed and laid her head back against my chest, asking "So, what now? It's still a bit too early to go out…." I shrugged and said "I'm good just laying here with you….Pretty comfortable…." She smiled and said "Yeah, I'm sure it is….Can't you make your boner go away?" I couldn't help but laugh as I said "I would if I could…."
She giggled and said "Well, I guess we should do something to make it go away before breakfast. What do you think?" I smiled and said "That sounds pretty fun! Anything in mind?" She nodded and cuddled against me, pinning my wolfhood between our stomachs before slowly grinding herself against me. I let out a pleasured sigh and said "Oh, Crystal….That feels amazing…."
Cody's POV
"Hmm, I don't know….Think he'd like it?" I asked Lilly as we looked at a few pages on the internet about local farmers needing herding dogs. "He might. I mean, it sounds like a really active and intense job to do. I know he likes a good challenge." She said as we read one of the pages. She told me about him being upset about not getting out as much as he used to, so we thought of something that he might enjoy doing.
"Well, you're right there. I guess we can ask him in a little bit while I'm cooking. I think he might, too." I said, smiling at her. She smiled too and said "Good! Now come on, I'm starving!" I chuckled and got up with her, going out to the living room to see Alexis and Chase already out there and laying on the couch. "Well, you two are up early!" Lilly said, smiling at them.
Alexis giggled and said "Morning, guys! Mom and Dad are gettin' busy…." I let out an amused sigh while Lilly giggled and I said "On an unrelated topic, are you two hungry?" They both quickly nodded and I said "Alright, I'll get breakfast ready. Anyone feel brave enough to let them know it'll be ready soon?" Lilly giggled again and said "I will…."
She walked down the hall and we heard her say "Hey, lovebirds! Breakfast'll be ready in just a little bit!" After a moment we then heard Dakota say "Okay, thanks, Mom!" I chuckled to myself and got some eggs and sausage out of the fridge, setting them on the counter to get a frying pan. Lilly came back out as I started cooking, saying "Can't wait for that to be done. I'm starving!"
"Well, it'll be done in about ten minutes. Any idea what we should do today?" I asked as I cooked. Lilly shrugged and Alexis and Chase didn't say anything, so I said "We'll figure something out, I'm sure. Anything beats sitting around all day…." Lilly giggled and said "Yeah, you're right there. Maybe we could go over to the park and just relax for a while."
"Yeah, that sounds good! It'd be nice to go for a swim, too!" Alexis said, her tail wagging. Chase smiled and said "I'm gonna ask Mom and Dad if I could just walk around today. Kinda feel like just exploring a little." I nodded and said "That'd be good to do. Just make sure you don't get too far from home or get lost."
He nodded as well and said "I know, Grandpa. I mean, I've got a good idea of the area….Maybe there'll be something new today." Lilly smiled and said "Never know until you go. Think you might find a cute girl while you're out?" He visibly blushed a little, but simply shrugged and said "I don't know, possibly. What should I do if there is?"
"Whatever feels right to you, buddy." We heard Dakota say out of nowhere. We looked over to see he and Crystal coming down the hall, smiles on their faces. Chase smiled too and said "Okay, I'll keep that in mind." Dakota nodded and about then, Alexis said "Mom, mind if I talk to you for a moment?"
"Of course, honey. Come on, let's go outside. I've gotta pee…." Crystal said, giggling as they walked over to the front door and out, closing it behind them. I looked at Dakota and asked "Any idea what they might be talking about?"
He shrugged and said "No idea, must be a girl thing….I wanna ask you something too, Dad." I smiled and said "Sure, what's up? Your mother told me about you two's little talk earlier." He weakly smiled and said "Yeah, that's what it's about….I wanna do something. I don't know what, but SOMETHING…."
"Like what kinda something?" I asked, leaning against the counter. He shrugged and said "I don't know, that's the problem….I'd like to do something fun, I guess." I chuckled and said "Well, to be honest, we were talking about it before we came out here. I think we might've found something you'd like…." His ears perked up and he asked "What is it?"
"Herding." I simply said, turning the eggs and sausage over. He looked confused and said "Like….injured hurting?" I chuckled and said "No, not exactly….Cattle herding. There's dogs specially trained for it, but since you want to be doing something active and, like you said fun, this might be that." He slowly nodded and said "Sounds….alright. What is it exactly?"
"Basically, there's farmers nearby that need dogs to herd their cattle wherever they need them to go. From what I understand, it's not easy….They can be stubborn sometimes. But, you're not the kind to let that bother you, am I right?" I asked, smiling at him. He smiled too and said "No, not really….So, you think I'd be good for it?"
I nodded and said "I think you would be. Of course, it doesn't matter what we think….It's how well you SHOW you can do it." He quickly nodded and said "Okay, sounds like something I might enjoy! When can I do it?" I chuckled a little and said "Well, first we'll have to find someone who really needs you….Shouldn't be too hard."
Crystal's POV- As They're Leaving The Apartment
"So, what's on your mind, honey?" I asked Alexis as we walked outside the building and over to the big front lawn area. "Well, I was just thinking more about what you and Dad said….You know, having a mate…." She said, seemingly nervous about it. I nodded and said "Just gimme one moment…." She smiled a bit and I walked over onto the grass, squatting down to pee real fast. She looked away while I did, blushing a little.
When I was done, I went back over to her and said "Okay, so what were you thinking?" We laid down next to one of the benches next to the grass and she said "I know you guys wanna help me find a mate, which is great, don't get me wrong! It's just….what if….if…." She looked down at the ground as she trailed off to silence, so I lifted her head back up with my nose, saying "If what, honey? You can tell me."
She took a breath and said "What if….my mate is a human?" I was surprised to say the least to hear her say that! After letting it process for a moment, I said "Is that what you want?" She weakly smiled and said "I don't know….I guess it might be." I smiled too and said "Well, if it is, then it's perfectly okay. Nobody's going to judge you and what you want."
"It's just….It seems so weird to me, though. But at the same time, really nice!" She said, looking down at her paws again. I giggled a bit and said "Oh, honey….Your father and I only want what makes you happy. And if that's a human mate, then we'll both stand by you. You know how happy Grandma Lilly is and she's said multiple times she probably wouldn't be that way if she'd never met your Grandpa."
"I know, Mom. So, if that does happen for me, you and Dad are perfectly fine with it?" She asked. I nodded and nuzzled her, saying "Of course we will be." She smiled and let out a little purr, saying "Thanks, Mom….Can I ask you one more thing?"
I nodded as we broke apart and she blushed profusely, asking "Is Dad mad at me?" I looked at her funny and said "Why would he be mad at you?" She blushed even more and looked down again, saying "I looked at his….um, you know…." Now I slightly blushed and asked "Did you do it on purpose?"
She shook her head and said "No, I honestly didn't…." I smiled again and said "Then no, he's not. Even if you did do it on purpose, we can't blame you since you're still in heat." She nodded and said "Okay….Think we should go back inside now?" I giggled a bit and said "You go ahead, I'm gonna lay out here for a little while."
She nodded and got up, saying "Alright, I'll let them know you're out here." I smiled at her and she turned around to go back inside, leaving me to relax on the warm ground. I happily sighed and laid my head down on my paws, thinking "She's gonna make some guy really happy someday…."
Lilly's POV
We were all eating breakfast now with the exception of Crystal, who Alexis said was still outside to relax a bit. We figured she was just enjoying the morning, so we didn't question it any. The eggs and sausage Cody made were REALLY good, better than usual! "Babe, did you do anything different this time?" I asked after I swallowed a little bit.
He nodded and said "Just a little….I put in a little extra salt and spices." I smiled and said "Well, keep doing that because this is really good!" He chuckled and said "Alright, I will! Nice to know you guys like it." Everyone quickly nodded and Chase said "Like is an understatement!" We all laughed a little bit and then Cody's phone suddenly started beeping.
He got up and answered it, saying "Hello?...Oh, hey, bro!...Nah, not much, just having breakfast….Uh huh….Yeah, of course!...Well, I work days, so anytime in the evening is great…..Cool, can't wait to see ya!...Alright, later!" With that, he hung up and chuckled to himself, making me curious. "Who was that?" I asked, smiling a bit.
"That was Thomas. He's gonna be in the area, so he wanted to know if he could come by." He said, sitting back down. I smiled more and said "Oh, that's great! When's he gonna be here?" He took another bite of his food and said "Tomorrow evening after we get home." I nodded and right then, Chase asked "Who's Thomas?"
"He's a pretty good friend. We met on FanFiction, actually. You know, where we have our little stories." He said, chuckling. Chase nodded and then Alexis asked "Is he nice?" Cody nodded and said "Nicest guy I've ever known! He's bringing his girl with him, but don't be afraid to say hi. Pretty much everyone knows about you guys."
Well, hope you all enjoyed this one! Got a couple plans in store for the next few chapters...Next one should be a good change of pace, but for good or bad? What do you all think it'll be?
