Cody: Okay, just letting you all know that this'll be a shorter chapter than normal. I had to rewrite it after my power suddenly went out last night and I lost everything I'd already done. I was nearly done and it was saved, but the file got corrupted...I couldn't remember exactly how it was done, but it was good! I don't feel this will compare to it, but I'll keep trying everything I can to recover that file. I apologize in advance to "BoltandMaybelle4ever", aka Thomas, for not really doing a lot thus far with him like we'd planned.
Lilly: Yeah, we really had a lot more planned and already done, but crap happens...We just hope you guys enjoy this chapter at least a little! It's only about half as long as normal, so we already know it probably won't be that great. We're not sure if the next chapter or the one after that will skip ahead a little while, but one of them will. We got a good plan to work off for that part, mainly involving our coming baby! *giggling* It'll put a good twist in the story, that's for sure!
Cody: *chuckling* Yep, she's right on that! So for now, we just hope you guys enjoy! See you soon on the next chapter!
A couple hours' drive outside Kalispell up in the foothills, there was a bonfire roaring into the night, a group of friends gathered around it on the nice night and sharing laughs and stories. Cody and Lilly had stopped at the store on the way up and he got a twelve pack of beer, he and Thomas splitting them. They were sitting in a couple folding camp chairs, talking and laughing at the fire while Lilly and Bella were laying in the back of Thomas' truck, the thick bedding keeping them both warm.
They'd all spent the last couple hours just enjoying the night, but not really doing anything until Lilly said "Hey, babe? I think I have an idea of what we could do…." He smiled at her and said "What might that be, love?" She smiled too and said "See that full moon?" They looked up in the sky and they all nodded, Bella asking "Uh huh….What're you thinking?" Lilly giggled a bit and said "Let's have a nice howl tonight….Just to ourselves."
"Wait, you two howl together?" Bella asked, a smile on her face. Lilly and Cody nodded and he said "On occasion, but not very often. It'd be nice to be able to more, but with the kids and everything, it's a little hard to get much time." She nodded and asked "Is it fun?" Lilly quickly nodded and said "More fun than anything!...Well, okay, maybe there IS one thing that it can't beat, but still!" Bella giggled and said "Well, I guess we need to give a try tonight, huh, babe?" Thomas chuckled and said "Sounds good to me! Any particular time that's best to do it?"
"No, not really. Anytime after it gets dark and the moon is out is good." Lilly said, hopping down out of the truck and walking over to Cody, who smiled and kissed her nose. She giggled and sat down next to him while Bella came over to Thomas, saying "Well, then I'd say now is good! Gotta admit, we've never really done anything like this, so….I'm kinda nervous." Lilly smiled and said "It's not that hard, really. Just listen to what's in your heart and the rest will come to you." She nodded and then Cody said "Care to start then, love?" Lilly smiled again and nodded, saying "I'd love to! That is, as long as you'll join me…." Cody nodded and kissed her cheek, making her purr a little before she lifted her muzzle to the sky, letting out a long, soft howl that he quickly followed, soon creating a flowing harmony with her.
Bella let out a quiet gasp and whispered "Wow, that's beautiful!" He nodded and put his arms around her, kissing her cheek as he did. She smiled to herself and closed her eyes, enjoying every bit of their passionate howl. They kept it going for a little over ten minutes, slowly getting quieter until they stopped. When they did, they immediately engaged in a deep, passionate kiss, making Thomas and Bella smile and quietly laugh to themselves. They finally broke apart a few minutes later, panting and trying to catch their breath.
"Okay, that was really good, you two!" Bella giggled, getting their attention. Lilly smiled and sat up, saying "Well, thank you! Not the best we've ever done, but still." Thomas nodded and said "Still, it was really good!" Cody chuckled and said "Glad you both enjoyed it! Gonna give it a try, too?" Bella looked up at Thomas and he said "Maybe in a few minutes. I'm not entirely sure I've got it in me…." Bella giggled again and said "Oh, I'm sure you do. What does a howl represent the most to a wolf?"
"Love." Was all Lilly said, smiling as she did. Bella nodded and said "Well, that makes sense. Judging by how nice it was, I'd say it's a pretty strong live." Cody smiled and said "Sure is….I'll never give it up for anything…." He gave Lilly a kiss on the cheek, making her purr a little and she said "Me either….I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting really tired." Cody pulled his phone out his pocket and looked at the time, saying "Well, it's nearly 3AM, so I'm not that surprised….I am too, actually."
About then, Bella let out a yawn as she said "So am I….Think we oughta head to bed yet?" Thomas smiled and said "Yeah, that's a good idea. It's really late…." Lilly smiled too and said "Well, we're gonna go to bed now, too. See you two in the morning!" They both nodded and got up, walking over to the truck and laid down in the back. Cody and Lilly got up and he dumped a bucket of water on the fire to put it out before they headed over to his car, climbing into the back and closing it. There was an air mattress already in there so it would be comfortable for them. As soon as they laid down, Lilly cuddled against him, saying "This was a really good idea tonight."
He smiled and said "It was, wasn't it? Nice to be able to do this." She giggled and laid her head against his chest, letting out a quiet yawn as she said "That howl was amazing, too…." He chuckled and kissed her forehead, making her purr a little as he said "It really was….One of the best we've ever done!" She nodded and closed her eyes, saying "Goodnight, babe….I love you…." He smiled again and pulled the blanket up over themselves, saying "I love you too, Lilly….Night…"
Back at home, Dakota, Crystal and Chase were asleep, but Alexis was stirring awake from feeling something move against her. She opened her eyes a little to see it was mostly dark in the room and she looked around, not really seeing anything that would've woken her. She looked over at her parents and they were still asleep, as was Chase against her. She smiled to herself a little and gently moved toward him a little, making sure not to wake him as she carefully cuddled down for extra warmth. She let out a content sigh and closed her eyes, drifting back off to sleep when she felt something move again, more firmly this time.
She opened her eyes and glanced down, seeing Chases' wolfhood erect and rubbing against her upper stomach a little. She blushed cherry red and realized it was him rubbing against her that woke her up. "Must be having a special dream…." She thought to herself, thinking she should move away a little, but didn't want to. What they did only hours ago was still fresh in her mind, along with the possible consequences of it. She let out a quiet sigh and thought "We really should've been more careful….Oh well, nothing can be changed now. Whatever happens, happens….I suppose being pregnant wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to happen." She began to drift back off to sleep after a few minutes of thinking, eventually falling asleep all together.
Early Morning
Alexis began to stir awake again in the morning, sleepily opening her eyes to see she was alone in the bedroom now. She lifted her head and yawned, stretching out a bit as she looked around, the sunrise shining bright through the window. She stood up and stretched some more, feeling her back pop a few times before she headed out to the living room to see Crystal and Dakota laying on the couch. They saw her coming out and Crystal smiled, saying "Morning, sleepyhead!" Alexis smiled and sleepily said "Morning, guys….Where's Chase?"
"He's outside using the bathroom. Sleep good, honey?" Dakota asked, smiling as well. She nodded and said "Yeah, really good, actually! Woke up for a few minutes sometime earlier, but fell back asleep." Crystal nodded and asked "How're you feeling?" Alexis shrugged and said "Not bad. Actually, really good, to be honest! I feel like I could run a marathon!" Crystal giggled and said "Well, considering what happened last night, I'm not all that surprised…."
Alexis blushed a little and asked "Mom, could I actually talk to you a little about that? I need a couple questions answered…." Crystal smiled and nodded, saying "Of course, honey. Come on, let's go down to the bedroom." Alexis nodded and they went back down to the room, going in and closing the door down behind them. "So, what do you wanna ask?" Crystal asked as she laid down on the floor, followed by Alexis in front of her. "First off, how come you and Dad changed from angry to compassionate so quickly last night?" Alexis asked, a bit of a smile on her face.
"Well, it's kinda complicated….And slightly embarrassing. I'd rather not tell you, though….It's really personal." Crystal said, looking down at her paws. Alexis nodded and said "I understand, you don't need to. Can you tell me why you two weren't mad all the sudden anymore, though?" Crystal looked back up at her and smiled, saying "That I can….It was because I personally see nothing bad that could come from what you two did. Yes, sex between siblings is technically wrong, but that's not what matters….Love is the only thing that decides. And on that note, after we all talked last night, your father and I thought of something we didn't while we were talking."
"What is it?" Alexis asked, a curious look on her face. Crystal smiled more and put her paws on Alexis', saying "You and Chase took part in one of the most important things it means to be mates…." Alexis' eyes went wide and she said "W-Wait, you mean….We have to be mates!?" Crystal shook her head and said "No, I didn't say that, just that you did something along those lines. You two can choose to be mates or not….Either way, your father and I will stand by you both. I just want you to know that."
Alexis nodded and said "Okay, Mom….My other question was about that, actually….I think….I think I do want to be his mate…." She blushed a little and looked away, making Crystal giggle a bit and say "I take it you feel more than just family love with him?" Alexis nodded and said "I've hidden it for a long time….I've always felt something about him that I couldn't explain. It was definitely love, but more….intense, I guess you could say. I never wanted to believe it was true, but now….I honestly believe it is! I just don't know if he'd feel the same, or how I could even tell him…."
Crystal smiled and said "Well, knowingly or not, you just did…." Alexis' eyes shot open and she turned to see Chase standing next to the door, a shocked look on his face. "Chase! What're you doing in here!?" Alexis nearly screamed, blushing cherry red from knowing he'd heard everything she said. "S-Sorry, I just….heard my name and wanted to know what was going on….I didn't mean to spy…." He quickly turned around and walked out to the living room, making Crystal feel a little bad.
"How long was he standing there!?" Alexis asked her mother, who smiled a little and said "Just a few seconds when you said all that…." Alexis sighed and put her paws over her head, saying "I can't believe he heard me say that….He probably hates me now!" Crystal moved her paws off her head and said "Honey, look at me….Come on…." Alexis looked up at her with tears in her eyes and Crystal said "He's your brother, he'd never hate you….He was probably just a little shocked hearing everything. Why don't you talk to him now?"
Alexis shook her head and said "I can't even look at him right now…." Crystal giggled a bit and said "Oh, you can, too….Chase, Dakota!? Can you boys come in here?" Alexis quickly looked up at Crystal again, asking "What're you doing!?" Crystal smiled again and said "Helping you….Just trust me, you'll feel a lot better after this…." Alexis sighed and a few moments later, the door opened and Dakota and Chase walked in, Dakota asking "You called, babe?"
"Yep! Why don't you two lay down with us?" Crystal said, shifting around a bit. Alexis looked up at Chase and immediately blushed, seeing he did as well. "What's going on?" Dakota asked as they laid down. "Well, remember what we said last night about them doing one thing that mates do?" Crystal asked. Dakota nodded and Crystal said "Well, Chase overhead Alexis a minute ago….You can tell them what you said, honey. Nobody's judging you, so it's okay."
Alexis took a breath and looked up at Chase, saying "I wasn't joking or anything….I've always felt more than just family love to you. After what we did, I honestly believe that we really could….be mates." He looked stunned to say the least and took a few moments before saying "Is it what you really want?" Alexis nodded and said "I really believe so. It's not just up to me, you know….You'd need to say yes, too." He smiled a bit and asked "What would you do if I do say yes?" She smiled too and said "Probably kiss you…." He smiled more and said "Then prove it. I say yes…." She giggled and practically leapt onto him, locking her lips onto his.
Dakota and Crystal looked at each other and smiled, her quietly asking "Think it could work out?" He smiled too and nodded, saying "Most likely. Just gotta convince everyone else it could, too…." Crystal giggled a bit and nodded as well, looking back at Alexis and Chase break their kiss. She let out a long sigh and said "I've dreamed of doing that…." He smiled and said "Truthfully, so have I….A lot." She giggled a little and moved from over him, laying down next to him and resting her head against his shoulder.
"Are you two done for a little while?" Dakota asked, chuckling a little. "For a bit….How're we going to tell everyone else about this, though? I know Grandma and Grandpa are going to find out later….But what about everyone up in Glacier?" Chase asked, his tail swishing around with Alexis'. Crystal smiled again and said "We will eventually, don't worry. It might not be the best news they've ever gotten, but I can promise they'll be happy for you both. I know your father and I are." Dakota nodded in agreement and Alexis let out a small giggle, saying "Well, thanks, guys….Mom, when am I doing to know if I'm pregnant or not?"
"It could happen anytime in the next few days. A sudden urge to throw up out of nowhere….But remember, you were really close to the end of your heat when you two mated, so it might not happen." Crystal said. Alexis nodded and said "I'll keep that in mind. To be honest, I really hope it does, though…." She smiled at Chase, who smiled back and nuzzled her a little, making her purr a bit. Dakota smiled and said "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm going out for a walk. Anyone care to join me?" Crystal nodded and said "I'll go along. If Grandma and Grandpa get home before we do, don't mention anything to them about this, okay?"
Alexis and Chase nodded and he said "We won't, don't worry." Crystal nodded and got up with Dakota, kissing their cheeks as she said "We'll be back after while then. We love you both!" Alexis smiled at them as they walked out to the living room together, pulling the door closed a little behind them. Crystal let out a sigh and said "This has been a rather strange couple days….I'm not complaining, though." Dakota chuckled and said "Yeah, I agree….I know it's not unheard of for siblings to fall in love, but I never thought it'd happen with our kids." Crystal nodded and said "You and me both."
