Cody: Holy crap, we're just BURNING through chapters now! This one'll be a good one, we can promise that! Got a few things going on that made it good.
Lilly: *giggling* I especially love our part!
Dakota: Yeah, but ours near the end is gonna cause some concern! Nobody likes peachy endings, right!?

One Week Later
It's been just about a week now since everything happened. With the help of Thomas, Cody got a great deal on a 1993 Jeep Cherokee with a blown engine that was nearly identical to the one he had before. The transmission was recently replaced, as well as upgraded to a newer one that would actually work with the diesel engine Thomas brought him. After checking it out and making sure the frame, body and all the other vitals were in good condition, he paid the asking price of only $450, loaded it onto Thomas' trailer and towed it over to Cody's parents' house. After explaining what the plan was and figuring out all the details with them, they agreed to let him use the garage to park and work on it.
They offloaded it and returned later in the day with the engine to start measuring and figuring out what needs to be done in order to fit it. Right off the bat, they knew it would need a decent size lift kit, and Cody already knew exactly what to get. After a few hours of throwing ideas back and forth, making sketches, measuring parts and clearances, and spending a little time cleaning it just for the heck of it, they finished for the day. He gave the paperwork to his parents for safe keeping so it wouldn't get lost before they headed back to the apartment.
For Alexis and Chase, their week since that night between them was rather uneventful. She didn't get pregnant from it, which didn't really surprise any of them after Crystal said before she might've been too close to the end of her heat cycle for that to happen. It did upset them both a little, but also relieved them since they had no idea if they were really ready to become parents yet. After having a little family talk about it, they decided on possibly trying in her next cycle in about four or five months. And of course, that same night since their parents were out, they had some fun again, enjoying it and each other much more!
It was a little after sunrise now on Monday morning, the sunlight shining through the window in the bedroom and onto the young couple. Alexis' eyes fluttered open from the warm feeling it brought, a smile creeping onto her face when she saw Chase already awake and smiling at her as well. "Good morning, Chase…." She sleepily giggled, receiving a kiss on the nose as he said "Good morning, my angel….How'd you sleep?"
She stretched out a little before cuddling against his chest and saying "I slept amazingly good! I didn't think I could ever be that tired!" He chuckled a little and said "How do you think I felt? I was exhausted…." She giggled again and kissed him, saying "It was more than worth it, though….Do you regret any of it at all?" He shook his head and put his forelegs around her as he said "Not in the least….Do you?" She smiled and cuddled down into his fur, saying "Not a bit…."
"Good….Anything you wanna do today?" He asked, slowly stroking her back. She let out a soft and quiet moan as she said "We should probably go to the park and wash up. We sorta smell…." He smiled and nodded, saying "Yeah, we do, don't we? Sounds good to me!" She giggled again and closed her eyes, letting out a happy sigh as she said "Chase, I really do love you….More than a sister should love her brother, I know, but I also know I don't want this any other way."
He pulled back a little and she opened her eyes, staring into his as he said "You know I feel the exact same way to you….I love you too, Alexis…." She smiled and locked her lips onto his, engaging in a deep, passionate kiss that made her heart flutter. She closed her eyes again to enjoy it more, letting a slightly louder moan escape her. "Hey, you two…." They suddenly heard their mother say, instantly getting their attention. They broke apart and looked over at her smiling at them and she said "Just what exactly is going on over there?"
Alexis smiled back and said "It's okay, Mom, we're just kissing….We did enough of the other thing last night to fulfill us for a little while…." Crystal giggled while Chase blushed under his fur, making Alexis giggle too as their mother said "Oh, I know what happened, don't worry. The scent of mating is not hard to miss, no matter how long it'd been since it happened." Alexis nodded and said "We know, but we didn't think about it….Sorry, Mom…."
Crystal smiled again and said "It's fine, honey. It's not like it was overpowering or anything….Although, you both might want to go to the park and clean up today." They both nodded and Chase said "We already planned to do that later. How was Grandma doing last night, do you know?" Crystal nodded and said "She was feeling a lot better than earlier in the day, that's for sure. She said when your Grandpa has to go to work, she'll go as usual and ask Donna is she could check her out. You know, just to make sure nothing's wrong."
Down in the other bedroom, Cody's alarm on his phone started going off, waking both him and Lilly from their slumber. He reached over and turned it off, letting out a yawn as he pushed the blanket off. Lilly yawned as well and stretched out, groaning a little as she felt her back pop a few times. He smiled and kissed her cheek, saying "Morning, love…." She opened her eyes and smiled back, sleepily saying "Morning, babe…." She shifted onto her stomach and stretched again as he asked "How're you feeling this morning?"
"A lot better, but still not that hot…." She said, yawning again. He nodded and looked down at her stomach, running his hand over her side as he said "Getting bigger by the day…." Her stomach was getting pretty wide on either side now, but still not that big vertically like when she was pregnant with Dakota and Lupa. Hell, it wasn't as big as it is now until her sixth or seventh week then, either! She smiled and nodded, saying "We must be having quite a few pups this time….I think at LEAST four!"
"I'm thinking five! In fact, if you want to, we can probably have an ultrasound done today. Just judging by this…." He said as he stroked her side again, making her giggle and he said "….It seems like it would be a good idea." She quickly nodded and said "I'd really like to do that, actually! At least then we might get an actual number of pups." He nodded as well and deeply kissed her, making her purr and he said "Time to start getting ready to go. Care for a nice bath?" She smiled and said "I'd love that!" They got up and she carefully hopped down off the bed, going into the bathroom with him and he started the water.
After a couple minutes, he finally said "Alright, water's warm! Wanna do it at the same time?" She giggled and nodded, saying "Just like I always do…." He chuckled and quickly undressed before they got in, letting the water spray down onto her. She smiled and closed her eyes, letting out a happy sigh and saying "Boy, that feels good….So relaxing…." He put some soap on her back and started massaging it in, making her purr a little as he did. "Mmm….That feels so good…." She purred, making him smile.
He soon finished and sprayed the soap out of her fur, saying "Well, that side's done….Want me to do your belly and chest?" She nodded and said "You do what you need to first and do me last." He nodded and began washing himself while she enjoyed the warm water spray, letting it fall all over her. She was smiling to herself when she started to feel her stomach twisting, instantly realizing she was about to throw up. "Oh, crap…." She quietly said to herself, quickly scrambling out of the bathtub and throwing up in the toilet. She coughed a couple times and he asked "Are you okay, Lilly?" She nodded and said "Morning sickness….Don't worry…."
He weakly smiled and she threw up a couple more times before flushing the toilet and getting back in the shower with him. "Man, I really hate that part…." She half giggled, opening her mouth to clean it out with the water. He chuckled a bit and said "Yeah, I know it sucks….Sure you're alright, though?" She nodded and swished the water in her mouth a little before spitting it out and saying "I'm sure, don't worry too much. I knew it would happen again, so it's okay." He nodded as well and after a few more minutes, finished himself and her other side.
He turned the water off and they got out, her shaking the water off while he grabbed a towel and dried off. When he was done, he got the excess water off her fur she couldn't shake off before they went back into the bedroom. He got his clothes out of the closet and put them on, going out to the living room only a minute or so later. Dakota and Crystal were laying on the couch together and saw them come out, Dakota asked "Hey, how're you feeling, Mom? I think we heard you throwing up?"
She nodded and said "Yep, I did, but it was just the morning sickness. I feel a lot better today, but still not quite perfect." They both nodded and Crystal said "Well, at least you're feeling better, that's all that actually matters. Can't help but notice your tummy's still getting bigger, too…." Lilly giggled and said "We're gonna ask Donna if she'd mind doing one of those ultrasounds today so we know just how many pups we can plan for." Crystal giggled too and said "That's a great idea! Judging by how long it's been for us, we're positive I'm not pregnant, but we'll try again soon enough."
Lilly smiled and said "That's great, Crystal! You're both ready to have pups again, I take it?" They both nodded and Dakota said "We are, especially now that Alexis and Chase are together. We kinda held back from trying for pups while Alexis was trying to find a mate, but now….We don't need to worry about that." Cody chuckled and said "Well, we're happy for you both, that's for sure! And since we all know what's probably gonna be going on later, good luck!" Crystal giggled and blushed a bit, saying "Thanks, Cody! I take it you two are about to go now?"
He nodded and said "Unless you guys are hungry…." Dakota smiled and said "No, we're good for now. Alexis and Chase said they are, too." Cody smiled too and said "Alright, then we'll be heading out now! See you two this evening!" They waved goodbye as he and Lilly walked out, closing the door behind them and going down to the car. Cody opened the door for her and she climbed in, saying "Thank you, babe!" He kissed her cheek and closed the door before going to the other side, getting in and starting the car. They pulled out of the parking lot a couple minutes later and drove the fifteen minutes to the vet, soon parking in a spot.
He shut it off and they got out, going inside to see Donna sweeping the waiting room floor. She smiled at them and said "Morning, you two!" Lilly smiled too and said "Morning, Donna! How's it been this morning?" She set the broom against the wall and said "Pretty quiet so far. You two are here kinda early, though….And just look at you, honey!" Lilly giggled and said "I know, getting pretty big! Morning sickness started earlier, too."
"Ah, okay….Boy, you two must be a having a good size litter this time!" Donna giggled, sitting down in a chair next to Lilly. Cody smiled and said "That's actually why we're here already….We wanted to ask if you could do an ultrasound." Donna looked up at him and smiled, saying "I'd be honored! I'm really curious myself!" Lilly giggled again and said "So am I! When can we do it?" Donna got up and headed to the back, saying "Right now, if you'll come with me." They nodded and followed her to the back area to a different type of room, much different than the exam rooms. It was actually a recovery room, but it was where the ultrasound equipment was.
"Cody, do you mind setting her up here on the bed?" Donna asked, going over to the machine and turning it on. He nodded and carefully lifted her up onto the bed, making sure not to lift her by her stomach. "Okay, Lilly. Go ahead and lay on your back." Donna said, putting on a pair of gloves and getting the bottle of ultrasound gel from a drawer. Lilly nodded and laid back on the bed, getting comfortable before Donna came over to her side.
"Alright, just relax, it won't hurt any. Might feel a little bit strange, though…." Donna said, making Lilly giggle and nod. She put some of the gel on her hand and gently rubbed it around on Lilly's stomach, making sure to get everywhere she'd put the sensor. After a minute or so, she took off her glove and threw it away, saying "Okay, now let's see what's going on inside there…." Lilly smiled as Donna pulled the machine cart closer to the bed, getting the sensor and cable off it and putting it on Lilly's stomach right above her womb. She moved it around a little as they watched the monitor screen, looking for anything that looked like the pups. There were big bumps here and there, but nothing that definitively looked like pups.
"Huh….I'm not really seeing anything…." She said, a confused look on her face as she kept moving it around. Lilly got nervous and said "What about those bumps and stuff that we saw?" Donna looked at her and said "Those might've just been voids in the sensor. I'll keep looking, don't worry." Lilly nodded a little and went back to watching the monitor along with Donna, still seeing the black bumps or voids every little bit that seemed to be surrounding something towards the middle of her stomach.
After a couple more minutes, Donna moved the sensor off her stomach and said "I'm sorry, Lilly, but I didn't see anything….It might've just been too early to try this, so don't lose hope, okay?" Lilly nodded and said "It's okay, I was a bit nervous it was too early as well. What about my sides here? Can you look at them?" Donna smiled and said "Sure, I can do that for you." Lilly smiled a little as Donna started rubbing some of the gel over her widened sides, getting almost all over her side. She put the sensor back on her and started moving it around again, this time something different entirely showing up on the screen.
"What is that?" Lilly asked, pointing at the lighter colored blob in the middle of the screen. Donna looked closer at it and said "I'm not sure exactly…." Cody leaned over to see it closer as well as Donna kept moving it around more. She moved to her other side as well and they could still see it, making them all wonder. "I've never seen anything like that before on one of these….It's possibly it's something with the sensor, but I'm not sure. It might need to be servi-" She was cut off by them all hearing a "thump" sound come from the monitor, immediately getting all their attention.
"Wait, what was that?" Cody asked, listening for it again. Donna moved the sensor around where it was when they heard it and sure enough, a few moments later they all clearly heard "thump, thump….thump, thump…." Donna's eyes went wide and she said "That's a heartbeat….Just one, though…." Lilly nodded and said "That's what it sounded like to me, too! Is it mine?" Donna put her hand against Lilly's chest, feeling her heart was beating much faster than the one on the monitor. "No, it can't be yours, it's not the right speed. I think that's the heartbeat of your pup….Or pups." Donna said, smiling now.
"It only sounds like one to me. I think it'd be impossible for multiple hearts to be beating at the exact same time like that." Cody said, rubbing Lilly's head a little. Donna nodded and said "Very unlikely. It's beyond a sliver of doubt now that you're definitely pregnant!" Lilly giggled and said "That's good! If that's really just one pup….That's a big pup!" They all laughed a little and Donna said "Really big! Tell you what, I'll do this again next week and see if anything different. It's possible you're carrying more than one, just the others hearts haven't developed quite enough yet for the machine to pick up."
"That's be great, thank you!" Lilly said, her tail wagging like crazy. Cody chuckled and kissed her forehead, making her purr a little as Donna said "Don't mention it, sweetheart….This is something I really wanna see more of! I've been a veterinarian for fifteen years, but I've never seen this before…." Lilly giggled as Donna turned the machine off and moved it back to the corner of the room before getting a damp towel, wiping the gel off of Lilly.
After getting it all off, she got another one and dried her off, saying "Alright, all clean! Now that it's official you're pregnant, congratulations to you both!" They both smiled and Lilly sat up, hugging her as she said "Thank you, Donna! Can't wait to tell the kids about this…." Cody chuckled and said "Well, that already knew you were….Won't be a big surprise to them." Donna giggled and said "He's got a good point. If you'll both excuse me, I need to clean the ultrasound sensor." They nodded and Cody gently lifted Lilly off the bed and set her on the floor before they walked out and back to the front of the office.
She laid down in the bed there and looked up at Cody, asking "Do you really think we're having more than one?" He smiled and said "It doesn't look like it, but it's still possible. We'll know for sure next week, I promise." She smiled and nodded, saying "I can't wait…."
About a half hour away at the park, Alexis and Chase were laying in the shade after taking a bath to clean up. It was going to be a rather warm day judging by how nice the morning was and the water felt really nice! They'd been there for about ten minutes or so now, discussing the topic of pups the entire time. Alexis was excited to quite possibly being a mother soon enough, but Chase had his reservations about it, mostly because of the fact incest normally causes defects in the offspring.
"It's not that I don't want to have pups, Alexis, because I really do! It's just….I don't want anything to be wrong with them….I don't want any children of ours to be considered freaks…." He said, looking down at the ground. She completely understood where he was coming from since she had the same worries in the back of her mind. She nosed his cheek and said "Chase, look at me…." He looked up a little and she smiled, saying "I know that could very well happen and it scares you, because it scares me, too. It's not the point though….The point is that they'd be OUR pups….Someone to love, to nurture….To watch them grow up….Normal or not, I would still love them equally, and I know you would, too."
He smiled a little too and said "I know I would….Another thing that worries me is later on in time, what if they ask if we're really their parents? What would we tell them?" Alexis smiled more and said "We tell them the truth, simple as that. Sure, they'll probably be freaked out and all, but it'd be better than lying about it." Chase nodded and said "Yeah, good point. If you're sure of it, then I have to say we should do it!"
She leaned forward and deeply kissed him, saying "I am very sure of it….I love you, Chase…." He smiled again and kissed her back, saying "I love you too, Alexis….So much…." She let out a soft purr and he put his forelegs around her, gently pulling her closer and kissing her more. She moved around a little to his side and cuddled against him, purring more. They broke apart a few moments later and she tucked her head under his chin, letting out a soft sigh as she said "I'm so glad I've got such a loving brother…." He chuckled a little and said "I could say the same about you…." She giggled a little and closed her eyes, laying her head down under his and closing her eyes.
"Are you getting tired?" He asked, rubbing his chin on the top of her nose. She nodded and said "A little bit. I feel like taking a little bit of a nap…." He smiled and said "Well, you do that then. I'll wake you up after while, okay?" She nodded again and cuddled more against him, saying "Okay….See you in a little bit…." He kissed her forehead and said "See you soon, my little dove…." She let out a slightly louder purr and slowly drifted off to sleep against him, making him smile more.
"God, I love you….More than you could imagine…." He quietly said to himself, gently laying his head down next to hers. He didn't go to sleep, but instead stayed away and watched the day go on, everything seemingly brighter, happier and overall better now to him! He smiled to himself and closed his eyes, just resting as he thought "Four or five months is a long time to wait for us….Oh well, it'll be well worth it in the end, I know it!"
Back home, Dakota and Crystal were winding down from their intimacy, panting hard and fast with each other. They'd gone at it for nearly an hour, leaving them completely out of breath and her womb full of his seed. They were kissing and nuzzling each other as they came down from their high point, loving each other to no end. They said they would try again soon enough, and they did and then some! "Dakota, you were amazing….I can't remember the last time you felt so….powerful!" She giggled, making him smile.
"You're one to talk! Do you have any idea how amazing your tight little area feels?" He said, making her deeply blush and giggle more. "Oh, stop it….I've got nothing on you. That big ol' thing of yours feels SOOOO good!" She said, squeezing her muscles around him. He groaned in pleasure and said "Yeah, but you make me feel so much better…." She giggled again and locked her lips onto his, closing her eyes and passionately kissing him.
He pulled back after a few moments with a worried look on his face and she asked "What's wrong, babe?" He shook his head and said "I'm not sure….I don't really feel too good all the sudden….I'm kinda light-headed…." She put her paw on the back of his head and pulled him to her chest, saying "It's okay, just take a few deep breaths and relax….You're probably just exhausted…." He suddenly coughed a few times and said "It's not like a tired feeling, more like….something is just wrong…." He lifted his head up a little and she looked into his eyes, watching his pupils quickly narrowing down and feeling his heartrate drastically increase, only worrying her even more.
"Dakota, what's wrong? Are you feeling sick? Talk to me, babe….Hey, Dakota….Come on, talk to me!"
Uh oh, what's going on with Dakota!? He doesn't sound too good right now...Hope he'll be okay!
