Cody: Well, not a lot to say this chapter. Haven't really had many ideas to use on this one, but still got it done. It's not the best, but alright in our books. We've been spending a good bit of time helping a good friend through a rather bad breakup, too...
Lilly: Yeah, it was rather shocking to hear about actually! His fiancee left him for another guy the other day...Pretty sad, actually...
Cody: But, he's a good guy and he's strong, so he'll be okay when it's all over with. Just a heads up; The next chapter will skip ahead again a couple weeks. We're trying to focus more on the burning topic of the story right now...Lilly's pregnancy. A few of you guys have PM'ed me with what you think will happen and you're pretty much all spot on! We won't share the details, but it'll be interesting, we can promise that! So, without any further delay and rambling, here chapter 31!
Early the next morning, Lilly stirred awake much earlier than usual. Before the sun had started to come up, even….She cringed a little from a bit of pain in her stomach, followed by it growling. She opened her eyes to see it was still mostly dark in the bedroom and the clock beside the bed showed it was only 4:41AM. She lifted her head and yawned a little, gently nudging Cody awake under her. He eventually started to wake up as well and saw she was already, smiling and sleepily said "Hey….What're you doing awake so early?" She giggled a little bit and said "Sorry to wake you….But, we're really hungry!"
"We?" He asked, looking around the room and making her giggle more. "Yeah, we as in the pups and I…." She giggled, licking his cheek. He chuckled a bit and said "Ah, okay….Anything in particular that sounds good?" She shook her head and said "Not right now. Anything sounds great!" He nodded and said "Well, if you'll let me up, I'll go make….something." She giggled again and moved off of him, laying down on the bed and he sat up. "You just relax….I'll be back in a few minutes." He said, putting a pair of pajama pants on. She nodded and he got up, going out to the kitchen and opening the fridge.
"Hmm….What might work…." He said to himself as he looked through it, trying to find something to make her. After a few minutes of looking around, he heard Lilly ask "Babe, are you done?" He chuckled to himself and said "Just a couple more minutes. I'll be right back." He took a container of beef fried rice out of the fridge and looked at it, saying "Yeah, that should do nicely. Tends to be rather filling…." He emptied the container into a small bowl before putting it in the microwave to heat it up. He looked up at the clock on it wall and it was nearly 5AM now, making him chuckle to himself again and say "No sense going back to sleep now…."
Down in the bedroom, Lilly was anxiously waiting on the bed, her stomach growling more and more. "Oh my god, I'm hungry….More than I can ever remember!" She quietly said to herself, hearing Cody shuffling about out in the kitchen. "Just calm down in a bit in there, little ones….Daddy's gonna be back soon with some breakfast." She said, rubbing her large belly. After a couple more minutes, she heard the microwave beep a few times, making her smile a little as she knew that meant whatever was in it was done cooking. She then started to hear his footsteps coming down toward the bedroom and she looked down at her stomach, saying "See, what'd I tell you?"
Cody walked in a few moments later with a bowl in his hands, saying "Well, I hope they enjoy this. Leftovers from the other night….Be careful, it's rather hot." She nodded and he set it down on the bed, the amazing smell invading her nose. "Mmm….That smells so good…." She said, taking a small bite. Cody chuckled to himself and sat down at the desk, turning his laptop on as Lilly ate. "Thank you, Cody. We were starving!" Lilly said before taking another bite. "Oh, don't worry about it, sweetheart….Just doing whatever I can." He chuckled, making her giggle a little. He turned to his computer and brought up house listings again, Lilly immediately noticing.
"Looking at houses again?" She asked before taking another bite. He nodded and said "There's some new ones already now. Rather nice one not very far from here….Hmm, price isn't that nice…." She giggled a bit as he kept looking, clicking and scrolling through multiple ads as she kept eating. After a few minutes more, she finally finished her breakfast and said "Well, that was definitely filling! Seems they've calmed down in there, too."
Cody moved the bowl over onto the dresser as he said "That's good, maybe they'll let you get some more sleep then." She giggled and said "Maybe, but I think I'll stay up now that I'm awake. Are you going back to sleep?" He shook his head and said "Nah, it's only about an hour until I need to be up anyway. Not really any point…." She nodded and stretched out a little before laying her head down on her paws, saying "Well, I'm still feeling sorta worn out myself…."
He chuckled and said "Yeah, me too…You do that to me…." She giggled and said "Oh, I do that to you? What about how tired you make me!? I don't remember the last time I felt so worn out after we finished…." He smiled and said "Probably the last time you were pregnant….Can't be easy making love while carrying pups…." She giggled more and said "Yeah, not a bit….But, it's not "tired" worn out, just...Drained." He nodded and said "I know what you mean, don't worry. How're you feeling this morning?"
She shrugged and said "Pretty good, I guess. Not feeling sick or anything, if that's what you're asking." He nodded and said "It was. Just making sure." She smiled and rolled her eyes, saying "Yeah, yeah….Do you think we should have Dakota come with us today? You know, just to make sure he's alright?" Cody shrugged and said "It might be a good idea, we'll see how he's feeling later. If he's feeling odd or anything, then he'll come along." She nodded and said "Okay, sounds good to me. I'm just worried he might have another seizure for no reason."
An Hour Later
Down in the bedroom, Dakota and Crystal began to stir awake at the same time from the sun creeping in through the window. He stretched out in the bed and yawned before opening his eyes to see her doing the same. He smiled and kissed her cheek as he said "Morning, love…." She opened her eyes too and smiled at him, sleepily saying "Morning, babe…." He chuckled and asking "And did we sleep well?" She giggled and nodded, saying "I slept really good! Did you?" He nodded as well and said "I slept great!"
"Good! Feel weird or anything today?" She asked, looking him over, but he shook his head and said "No, I feel perfectly fine. I'm not dizzy, nothing feels cramped or anything…." She nodded and said "Even better! Still might wanna have your Dad make sure you seem alright…." He nodded and said "Alright, only so you don't worry…." She giggled and nuzzled him, making him chuckle and right about then, they heard Alexis and Chase waking up.
Crystal looked over at them and said "Good morning, you two!" Alexis smiled and sleepily said as she yawned "Hi, guys! Dad, are you feeling better from yesterday?" He smiled at her and said "I'm feeling fine, honest. No need to worry about me." She nodded and then Chase said "Mom, did you guys ever find out if you're pregnant yet?" Crystal smiled at him and said "I'm not from last week….Not sure yet about yesterday, though…."
Alexis blushed and said "Mom! Did you really need to tell us you two mated!?" Crystal and Dakota both laughed a little before she said "Now, honey, remember what we talked about before? You two taking care of needs together meant you couldn't be upset with us about that, either." Alexis blushed more, but nodded and said "Yeah, I know….Sorry…." Dakota chuckled a little and said "It's okay, Alexis. I know hearing your parents talk about sex with each other isn't the most desirable thing to hear….Believe me, I know!" Alexis giggled a bit and said "Yeah, no kidding….It's just….odd."
Crystal giggled a bit again as she said "As if knowing you two mate is any better? I'm only kidding, you both know we're happy for you…." Alexis and Chase smiled a little and he said "We know, Mom, you've said that a few times now." Dakota chuckled again and said "Good, your memory is still fine then. What've you two go planned for the day? Anything?" They looked at each other and Alexis shook her head, saying "No, nothing in mind right now." Crystal nodded and said "Well, depending on what your Grandpa says, we might be going with them today when he goes to work."
"Oh, okay. How come?" Chase asked, his head tilted a little. Dakota smiled and said "If he says so, just to make sure I'm alright. I feel fine, but rather safe than sorry, you know." Alexis nodded and said "Yeah, good point. Think Grandpa Garth might be there today? It'd be nice to see him again." Crystal shrugged and said "He might be. I'd like to spend a little time with him, too." Dakota chuckled and said "Well, only one way to find out….Have to wait and see."
Down in the other bedroom, Cody was getting dressed for work after he took a quick shower. Lilly got a little more sleep while he got ready, but was already awake by the time he was done. She watched him finish dressing, her tail flipping around a little on the bed as she asked "So, are we leaving soon?" He smiled and said "Yeah, pretty soon. What's your hurry?" She giggled and said "There isn't one, I'm just bored laying here!" He chuckled and rolled his eyes, saying "Uh huh….Alright, let's go then before you pee yourself…."
"Oh, shut up! Dumbass…." She said, hopping down off the bed while he chuckled to himself more. They went out and down to the other bedroom and Cody knocked on the door, saying "Everyone decent?" They heard Alexis and Crystal giggle and her say "Yeah, we're all fine. Come on in." He smiled a bit and opened the door, seeing them all laying in their beds and seemingly talking before they came in. "Just came down to see how your feeling today, Dakota." Cody said, smiling at him.
Dakota nodded and said "I feel great today! Almost like yesterday never even happened…." Lilly giggled a little and said "Well, good! We'd still be more comfortable if you'd come with us today….Just so we can be right there if anything happens again." He nodded again and said "Yeah, we had a feeling you guys might say that. It's cool, I don't mind. Think we could all come incase Garth's there today?" Lilly nodded and said "Yeah, that's a good idea! We're just about to go now, actually, so might wanna hurry it up a bit." They all nodded and Crystal said "We'll be out in just a minute."
Cody and Lilly walked out to the living room and he got his keys off the counter, saying "He looks completely fine today…." Lilly smiled a little and said "Yeah, but still….I don't want them coming in again today for the same problem….Who knows if it'd be any worse or anything if it happens again…." Cody smiled too and nodded, saying "I know, don't worry. I'm sure he'll be fine, though." She nodded and about then, they all came out of the bedroom, yawning and stretching as they did. "Anyone hungry before we go?" Cody asked, smiling still.
"I'm a little hungry, but I'll be fine for a while." Alexis said, smiling too. Nobody else said they were, so Cody said "Well, alright, let's get going then!" Lilly giggled a bit as they all walked out and Cody closed and locked the door behind them before they went down to the car. They all piled into the car and he started it, saying "I just got a text from David on our way down. He said Garth'll be there around noon." Crystal smiled and said "Oh, that's great! Be nice to spend a little time with him today." Alexis nodded in agreement and Cody chuckled as they pulled out of the parking lot, driving off to the vet.
They got there about fifteen minutes later and he parked the car and everybody got out, going inside to see a young lady and her large Husky in the waiting room. Donna was sitting at the desk and looked up to see them coming in and said "Oh, you're here! Cody, this is Melissa, my niece. Melissa, this is Cody, our resident canine caregiver." He smiled at her and said "Nice to meet you!" She smiled too and shook his hand, saying "You too! Donna's told me a lot about you all." Lilly giggled and asked "Even about us being mates?" She nodded and said "Like I said, she's told me a lot. I understand you two are having pups of your very own?"
Cody and Lilly nodded and he said "Believe me, nobody knows how it happened….So glad it did, though!" Lilly giggled again and said "Damn right! Although, there's something strange about it, as if being pregnant from a human isn't enough….We did an ultrasound yesterday and despite how large my tummy is, there was only one heartbeat." Melissa had a funny look on her face and asked "Only one? How's that possible?"
Cody shrugged and said "It might've just been too early yet for that, who knows. We'll do it again next week and see if anything changes." She nodded and said "Yeah, you're right. Well, even though it was nice to meet you all, I'm not exactly here on a social visit….My boy Dom here's been having some issues recently…." Cody nodded and said "It's alright, we'll figure out what's going on soon enough. Mind coming with me to an exam room?" She nodded and then Donna said "Don't worry, I already clocked you in, Cody."
"Oh, thanks! If you'll just follow me…." He said, leading them to one of the exam rooms with Lilly right behind them. He closed the door and asked "Okay, so what seems to be the problem?" He lifted Dom up onto the table as Melissa said "Well, I think he may have a hernia….I'm not sure, though. Whenever he gets an erection, he constantly whines in pain…." Cody nodded and asked "How often does it happen?" She blushed quite a bit as she said "Um….rather frequently…." Lilly giggled a bit and asked "Are you two….intimate?"
Melissa shyly nodded and said "Yeah….It's been going on for almost a year now. Donna knows, but she's the only one in my family that does…." Cody chuckled a little and said "Hey, nothing to be embarrassed about. We aren't." Lilly nodded in agreement and Melissa smiled, saying "Well, thanks….Back to Dom, though…." Cody nodded and said "Right. Can you….replicate it?" She nodded and said "Sure, I knew you'd ask that." He chuckled again and she started rubbing Dom's back and head while also rubbing his….lower parts. Within just a minute or so, he was panting a little and in full view of everyone. Lilly's eyes went wide when Melissa stepped to the side and she saw him, causing her to blush profusely and she said under her breath "Oh my…."
Cody happened to look down at her to see the look on her face, making him smile a little as he said "Alright, well….I'm not seeing anything that looks like a hernia….Oh, wait! I think I do see something…." He opened a drawer next to him and pulled out a magnifying glass and tweezers, carefully grabbing a splinter sticking out the side of Dom's junk and plucking it out. He whined in pain a little, but then his tail started wagging like crazy! Cody held it up and said "I think that might've been the problem….Wood splinter."
"Really!? That's it!?" Melissa giggled, rubbing his back and neck. Cody chuckled and said "Yep, I believe so….He doesn't seem to be hurting anymore now." Melissa nodded and about then, they all started to smell an odd musk in the room and Cody quickly realized what it was. He looked back down at Lilly and she was panting a little, her tail curled between her legs and her eyes fixed on Dom. Cody chuckled and went over to her, waving his hand in her face and saying "Hey, wake up, love…." She quickly blinked a couple times and said "Wh-what? Huh?"
Cody smiled and said "You just zoned out, I think….Melissa, you can go ahead and go now. I won't charge you for that." She smiled too and said "Well, thank you! I really appreciate it!" He nodded and she went out with Dom, leaving Cody and Lilly in the room together. He closed the door and knelt down next to her, asking "You okay, Lilly?" She was blushing and nodded, saying "Yeah, I'm okay…." He smiled again and said "You sure? You seem to've gotten rather excited there…."
She blushed even more and said "I know, I'm sorry….It's just….seeing him like that just set something off inside me." He nodded and kissed her forehead, making her purr a little as he said "It's okay, I understand. Need a little time to sort yourself out?" She giggled a little and said "No, I'm okay. I'm just gonna lay down for a bit now." He nodded again and opened the door, walking out with her to the desk. She laid down in the bed while he sat at the computer, doing what he needed to while Donna and Melissa talked.
"Thanks again for helping him, even if it was something pretty dumb…." Melissa giggled, making Cody chuckle a little. "Nah, don't mention it. Just what I'm here for." He chuckled and she nodded, going back to Donna while he filled out some paperwork. Dakota, Crystal, Alexis and Chase were laying on the couches in the waiting room, talking and laughing amongst each other. Lilly looked up at Cody and said "Hey, babe?" He looked down at her and she weakly smiled, saying "Thanks for not getting mad at me there….I though you would've been upset…." He chuckled and leaned down to her, kissing her nose as he said "I could never be mad at you….Unless you were drooling over him, that is."
She giggled and shook her head, saying "Not a chance….I only drool over you…." He chuckled more and kissed her again, making her purr and he said "Why don't you just relax for a little while? It'll be time for lunch before you know it." She giggled again and nodded, saying "Okay, I think I might try and get a bit more sleep. I'm still sorta tired…." He nodded and she curled up in the bed while he went back to what he was doing, looking up at the others to see Alexis curled up as well, making him smile to himself and let out an amused sigh. The rest of the day would be rather uneventful, but not the next couple weeks, that's for sure!
