Bellwood…

"Hello, Gwen and Kevin, I have some unfortunate news for you…"

"Professor, you look different, Gwen stated astonished."

Instead of being clad in his usual lab coat attire, the professor was dressed in a weird white navy captain outfit bordered in yellow with his lab goggles around his neck and his right hand looking like it belonged to a robot.

"What has happened now, Eon causing trouble again? Nice outfit by the way captain, oops I mean Professor", Kevin deadpanned with a lazy smirk.

"Kevin", Gwen said sternly, her once carefree expression replaced with a resigned determined look as she dug into her pants pocket for her cell phone.

The teen couple had dressed casually for their date; Gwen's attire a long red sleeved shirt with a black vest fitting comfortably over grey pants. Kevin decided to dress in his usual; a black t-shirt over a long gray sleeved shirt with blue jeans.

"Just let me call Ben, he can meet us here", she said fishing out her phone.

"That's the unfortunate news, it appears that Tennyson has been accidently thrown out of our universe.

"… What?"

Paradox used their collective shock wisely; telling about the time war, the problems occurring because of it, and how poor Ben had fallen into a time rift.

"Can't you just go back in the past and stop Ben from falling in the rift", Kevin questioned.

"With the time-space continuum stretched so thinly right now, going to the past would be extremely dangerous and could result in even worse rifts. I have my hands full with this war; therefore, I have asked someone else for help.

"I guess that my cue", a nice looking elder woman appears at Paradox's side.

"Grandmother", Gwen cried out in surprise.

Far away in another universe …

For Ben Tennyson and Lucrecia, the past couple of days had been a little hectic; they traveled quickly, the scientist on her golden feathered chocobo while Jet Ray soared overhead. He offered to carry her, but she preferred to be on the ground.

To Jet Ray's surprise, the chocobo was very fast and could run for hours; its massive stamina stretched out with careful pacing, brown stocky legs bounding over the rocky terrain with ease. It was definitely not as fast as him, but it would do.

They traveled at night by moonlight, Jet Ray flying carefully overhead, his keen eyes alert for random monsters that apparently (according to Lucrecia) roamed the countryside.

They arrived in Costa del Sol at dawn; Jet Ray transforming back into Ben as they reached the outskirts of town.

"I thought monsters roam the countryside more at night, I didn't see a single one", Ben mused.

"Monsters rarely attack me for some reason, but I like to remain cautious", Lucrecia replied taking off her lab coat, folding it, and then placing it in her pack tied to the chocobo.

"Why are we stopping here", Tennyson questioned.

"Midgar security operates with various id checkpoints; I know that you can probably bypass those areas, but I would like to stay on the safe side and in Costa del Sol, money can buy you anything", she stated matter of factly.

Curious, the teen looked around; Costa del Sol looked like the typical costal town fueled by tourism, not as modern as he was used to (with its cobblestone buildings), but familiar nevertheless.

They walked into town quietly, the streets slowly beginning to fill with people as eager sightseeing tourists and town people got up for an early start of the day.

"Ben, hide your omnitrix; it makes you stand out more than you already do", Lucrecia whispered quietly.

As they passed several people, Tennyson could only ruefully agree; the clothing style of the people they passed varied, some ranging from dress that could have come from the 18th century to more modern looking clothes closer to the fashion Ben was use to.

He pulled down the sleeve of his jacket; the outer edge of omnitrix covered barely by the green fabric.

Grumble…

The teen rubs his stomach with a sheepish smile, dispelling the grave atmosphere that had grown as they traveled closer to Midgar.

The former Shinra scientist gave a small smile, "Breakfast, my treat, I'm sure that you're hungry after refusing to eat most of my rations"

"Nah, I couldn't eat all of your food; besides, I can go without a couple of meals. I doubt that my money would be worth anything here anyway."

"I just hope they have chili fries", Lucrecia wisely decided not to comment.

They checked in at the inn and decided to share a two bedroom room in order to save gill (much to the embarrassment of Ben; the front desk clerk had raised an eyebrow at him and grinned impiously).

After eating breakfast (unfortunately not chili fries) served at the inn, Lucrecia went over to the Bar by herself to 'meet a friend'.

Being cautious and keeping in mind everything that he had been told about Shinra, Ben leaned by the inn side post; casually eyeing the bar across the road and taking in the Costa del Sol scenery as much as he could.

People bustled to and fro down the street barely paying attention to the green clad teen, his weird clothes standing out like a sore thumb.

The strangeness only warranted a single sidelong glance; after all, the boy was just another weird tourist in town, a place that called strange people to it like water to a sponge.

Only one person paid attention to the boy's crazy sense of fashion; although he couldn't point fingers…

The man in question wore his orange hair short, his face framed with dark sunglasses and his body dressed in a formal black suit; only the his white undershirt and white shoes was a different color.

It seemed that this man is very popular in town, in each arm walked a giggling lovely young lady; people stopped to wave as he walked down the street.

Several admiring females (and perhaps a few males) shot heated lingering glances at him as he walked.

Ben could only stare in envious disbelief as more females flocked to this guy's side to say hello even as the two clutching his arms kissed his cheeks and adorably rubbed his muscles.

The disbelief continued to grow as the orange haired guy literally had to peel the girls off of him so that he could actually walk properly.

The Casanova changed course as he headed straight for the gawking hero.

Pulling out a cigar, the man lights it up and begins to smoke, "Hey, young boy, I hear that you just got in town"

To be continued…
