I do not own the Percy Jackson series or Kane Chronicles series.
Chapter 19:
Annabeth's POV:
It's been an hour since we took off, and everything was going fine. There was only half a dozen or so attacks so far. No big deal. I was sitting in my room with the rest of my siblings, who were doing what we usually do. Either reading, making a battle plan, or sharpening our weapons.
But I did none of those. I just sat on my bed staring into space. I was interrupted by Malcom- my half brother and second-in-command to the Athena cabin-who plopped down next to me.
"What's up?" he said.
"Just thinking" I muttered back.
"About?" he asked.
"Stuff" I answered.
"Yeah I think about that all the time. I love me some stuff."
I snorted and turned to him. "Is there a reason you're wrinkling my beautifully made bed?" I demanded.
"First of all, you already ruined it, and second of all, I came to check out why my little sister looks so worried."
"First of all" I said, mocking his tone, "You're barely older than me, and second of all, I'm fine."
"Mhmmmmm. Is it boy trouble? Did you and Percy get into a fight?" he said, rubbing his chin with his thumb and index finger, making him look slightly creepy.
"Oh my gods, Malcom. No. Just no. I'm fine alright? Now get out of my space. Shoo"
He chuckled and got up. "Fine. I'm just making sure, 'cause you'll be representing Camp Half-blood, and we don't need you daydreaming about how good Percy looks shirtless."
I chucked my pillow at him and he ducked out of the way, laughing.
What he said was true though. Not the daydreaming about Percy shirtless part. That I'll be representing Camp Half-blood. Chiron and I will be doing it together. I wasn't completely thrilled about it, but I felt responsible for the camp. I have been there longer than anybody else, and I was usually the one to call the shots if Chiron wasn't there.
So I was pretty nervous about that, and anything else that might possibly go wrong. Hopefully, nothing will, but guessing my luck, something will go wrong in aboutttt 15 seconds.
Sadie's POV:
Carter and I landed in a heap on the cold floor of the first nome. Some of the magicians hissed, some smiled and some just rolled their eyes. We ascended from the floor and gave our most dignified you-don't-bother-me-I'm-about-to-save-the-world look.
Right then Jaz and Julian tumbled through the portal, sending me and Carter to the floor again. So much for our dignity. The magicians smirked. We all got back to our feet and moved away from the portal.
The rest of the initiates piled through, with Amos at the rear.
As soon as Amos came through, the magicians at the first nome stopped whispering and laughing. As much as they hated us, Amos was still the Chief Lector and they had to respect him whether they liked it or not.
We were the first to arrive. "The rest of the nomes should be heading in soon" Amos murmured. He went off to do some last minute organizing, or whatever the Chief Lector does. Felix started summoning penguins, Shelby started playing patty cake by herself and the guys started flirting with the girls from the mob of magicians just coming in from portals.
After about half an hour, everybody had arrived and we were preparing to meet our new frienemies. [Okay that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Don't ever say that again Sadie.] [Oh shut up Carter.]
Amos then started an awfully boring speech. When he had finished, the nomes had been departing in order, from the first nome, to the three hundred and sixtieth (you know, minus the ones we accidently destroyed.)
Since we were in the twenty-first nome, we still had a while before it was our turn. What upset me wasn't that we had to wait though, what upset me was that since Walt was technically a god, and Carter was the Pharaoh, they had to go with Amos along with the rest of the first nome.
So I was left to guide the twenty-first nome by myself. Great. Sure, it'll only be for a little while, and its not like I'm leading them into battle, but id still feel a lot better if someone was with me.
I watched as Carter and Walt disappeared through the portal, along with Amos.
Do you guys think I should add in a Roman POV?
I've been debating that for a while.
Anyway, sorry for the wait. I've just been busy, but I'll try my best to update more often with longer chapters. :D
Thanks for reading! Please review!
