Draco's POV
As Draco arrived at the orphanage, he noticed light on and hushed voices in the sitting room. Deciding to check on whoever was in there, if it were Astoria then that was fine, but she was usually in bed by now, 'setting a good example' for the younger kids, though he wouldn't mind chatting with her about his little problem. Entering the sitting room he found Astoria and Pavarti Patil having a hushed conversation over tea and biscuits. The two women looked comfortable and happy, who was he to intrude in their talk, yet he was going to do it anyway. Draco strode into the room and watched as Pavarti's face whitened.
"Evening ladies, how have you been?" he asked politely. He had never been a fan of the ex-gryffindor and was especially not now that she worked a column at Witch Weekly. Somehow she managed to get quite a few stories on him and wasn't always nice or honest in what she wrote, not when it was about him anyway.
"Good thankyou Draco, how was your get together with Blaise and Theo?" Astoria asked.
"Funny you should ask actually." He said taking a seat on the couch next to Astoria. "Guess who turned out to be having a date at the same place. Was quite interesting to watch the fall out." Turning to Pavarti who looked noticeably interested, Draco addressed her.
"You will not print anything I am about to say because I'm sure one of the people would quite happily ruin your life afterwards. Understand?" with a dissatisfied and disgruntled look she nodded. Astoria looked at him questioningly.
"Granger and Weasel. After the scene at the War Ball, she told him that unless he cleaned up his act within the week, she wanted a divorce. So instead of leaving the instant I saw them, I stayed and watched. Anyone with ears and money knows that Weasel has a 'usual' table at The Three Broomsticks. Well Rosie accidently slipped and Granger found out. Quite pissed from what it looked like and ended up leaving him before they even ate." Draco sat back at the end of his tale and the two women wore similar scheming expressions. Pavarti's he understood, this could be a major story for her. "Golden Couple To Split" or "Romione, Is This The End?" or some other nonsense headline that she could think of. But he didn't understand the scheming look on 'Stori's face, and the way she looked at him calculatingly made him hesitate before saying the last part.
"After she left, another woman went up to the weasel and they started macking on. So I left because no one wants to see him eat someone's face off." At this Pavarti's eyes lit up.
"Off the record of course for now, but what did that woman look like?" Draco thought back,
"Blonde, curly hair, dumpy, a bit taller than Granger." As he listed off the words, Parvati whitened and stood up.
"I've got to go. I need to check something. I'm sorry Astoria; can we finish out night another night?" Astoria nodded, still lost in her own schemes.
"It was nice to see the children and you again. Bye!" As the door closed behind Pavarti, Astoria looked at Draco.
"I wonder what that was about."
Pavarti's POV
Her head was troubled. Surely Lavender wouldn't be so cruel. She said that after sixth year she wanted nothing more to do with Ron. And yet she was hinting at lunch just four days ago that she was with someone that Pavarti wouldn't approve of straight away. Someone that was telling her that they would leave the person they were with for her and Lavender sucked it right up.
"He's going to leave her for me. I know it Pav. I've only felt like this once before."
"Damn it Lavender! If your secret man is Ron Weasley I'm going to kill you!" she muttered to herself. Deciding to put her skills as a journalist to use, she apparated to Lavender's place. Finding the lights off and nobody home, she let out a sigh of relief only to stop short as a thought came to her. What if because of their fight, Hermione didn't go back to the condo? What if she went somewhere else? Harry's perhaps? Would Ron be so stupid as to take this mystery female back to the condo? Technically it was his and Hermione's, but from what she knew he never stayed there, preferring to be up at Hogwarts. I should check just in case. At least if I do get a scoop on any of this she wouldn't be out to get Hermione, just Ron for being a pig.
"Here goes." Once more she apparated, this time to Better books and walked around the back to check out the condo. As she got closer she noticed that there were indeed lights on in the place and she swore she could hear voices. Just as she was about to knock on the door to be super safe and just apologise if it was Ron and Hermione, she heard a name screamed. And it was definitely not Hermione's.
"OH LAV, FUCK. OH THAT FEELS SO GOOD!"
Turning away and practically running away from Hermione's home, Pavarti knew she had to do something. Hermione deserved to know. She might have only just heard from Malfoy of all people, about this one week business but she knew that being with someone else was not part of cleaning up ones act. Where would Hermione go? Probably Harry's, she decided that she would try there first.
Harry's POV
"You know you wanna, kiss the girl" the soft crooning of Sebastian's voice lulled Hermione into a peaceful state. As Harry had suggested movies, Hermione had had the urge to watch The Little Mermaid to remind herself of her childhood. An easier time to remember and focus on. So Harry had grinned and put it on for her. After all what were best friends slash adopted brothers for?
"You know, Ginny reminds me of Ariel, all that red hair and a rocking bod." Harry said casually. Hermione glanced sideways at him.
"Do you still have feelings for her?" she asked hesitantly. Harry snorted.
"God no, only as a friend. She and I could never work. We were in love and then we just fell out of it. Mutual decision of course. I do think that her and Blaise are a good match though don't you agree? Seems like Gin may be onto something with those former snakes though, you and Draco seemed ok together at the ball." He said with a wink. Hermione blushed.
"He was a good dancer."
"And?"
"And nothing Harry."
"Come on Mione. I know you better than that. Besides Gin already told me you got him smashed at Blaise's."
"Great! Then there's everything you need to know. There is nothing else." She said in a tone that finalised the discussion. Harry rolled his eyes. He knew there was always something else with Mione. And he knew that Ginny was planning something for the curly haired witch next to him. Not that she would say of course, but that was the way that Ginny was. Suddenly there was urgent knocking on his front door. Looking over his shoulder, he saw Kreacher get up to get it. As the knocking got louder, Harry decided to go after him. Whoever was out there seemed pretty eager to see him. As Kreacher opened the door, a tangle of tan legs and arms came crashing through the doorway, as he ran forward to help whoever it was up, Hermione had followed him out to the hallway.
"Pavarti? Is that you?" she asked. The woman in front of him flicked her hair out of her eyes and he saw it was indeed Pavarti.
"Hermione. Oh Circe. I found you. You have to go home."
Hermione's POV
"Home? Why?" she asked. Pavarti looked upset and the mothering nature in her made her step forward and brush past Harry to put her arms around the woman, but Pavarti pushed her off.
"No Hermione, you need to go now. Before he lies to you again."
Hearing those words tumble out of Pavarti's mouth made time stop for Hermione. He wouldn't, would he? She wondered. She looked at the woman in front of her for confirmation. Slowly she watched Pavarti nod sadly. She didn't wait to wonder how Pavarti knew or even why the reporter had come to find her before publishing a horrible article. She just disappeared to her home. As she stood on the driveway, she could see lights on that she had not left on. Before she could take a step, Harry appeared beside her.
"Do you want me to come with you?" he asked quietly. Slowly she shook her head.
"Can you just wait here for me?" she asked just as quietly.
"Sure. Can I speak to him if he passes by when you send him out?" once more she shook her head and she heard Harry sigh.
"Fine, only for you Mione." She left him standing there and walked towards her home. As she approached the door, she could hear animalistic noises and she realised the silent tears had begun travelling down her face. This was it; there would be no more Ron and Hermione Weasley. It would just be Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Singular and she would keep her bookshop no matter what he said. Turning the unlocked door handle, she walked to her bedroom.
"Oh Won-Won! Do that again! Harder oh!" Rage built up inside Hermione hearing those words and with an angry push, she flung the bedroom door open so hard that she was sure there would be a mark in the wall.
"GET OUT OF MY BED YOU PRICK! GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOME!" she screamed with her eyes shut. Tears streamed out from under her lids, but she had no desire to wipe them or open her eyes to what she was sure was her husband screwing none other than Lavender Brown in her bed.
"YOU HAVE 10 SECONDS TO GET THE HELL OUT OF MY ROOM AND GET OUT OF MY LIFE YOU SLUT. AND AS FOR YOU RONALD, I WANT THE DIVORCE FINALISED TOMORROW. YOU COULDN'T EVEN MAKE A WEEK YOU DISGUSTING PIG." Her words tore out of her throat, had and clawing. But this was it. She couldn't do this anymore. No more lying or betrayal from Ron. She left the room and sat on her couch in the lounge. She heard Lavender leave and contemplated throwing the vase next to her at her, but decided against it. The vase was worth more than that trash she thought to herself.
"Hermione, don't do this. I swear it will never happen again. Just don't dump me now, please we can figure this out, get back together." Ron's words washed over her and she saw red as she turned to him.
"We are never, ever getting back together! Now get out!" she screamed at him. He backed away with hands held high. Waving her wand threateningly, she stalked forward, tears streaming down her face.
"You think you could get away with it again? You should have known I'd catch you and that slut sooner rather than later! Only this time her friend told me I should go home. And what do I find? The skank wrapped around you like a flipping disease! How could I have been so stupid to think you would change?" She picked up a vase from the shelf and hurled it at him, flowers and all. He ducked, the vase smashing to pieces as it hit the door where his head had been.
"For Merlin's sake woman, what do you want from me? A man has needs, and you're too busy with your bookshop and him, to even fulfil my needs!" he yelled at her.
"Then go. What's stopping you?" she said deadly quiet. Shaking her head she sat, leaning against the wall of their apartment. With her eyes closed she began counting in her head. By the time she got to 15, the door had slammed and she was alone with her tears.
By the time she got to 30, Harry had sat down next to her and placed an arm around her.
By 40, he was helping her up and putting her on the couch with a blanket around her shoulders.
By 65, Harry had placed a hot chocolate in her hands and was rubbing soothing circles on her back. She was numb. It had happened and it had been awful. She still loved him. But his betrayal was the worst thing Ron could have done to her. She took a sip of her hot chocolate, not really tasting it. The warm liquid warmed her a little, but did nothing to take away the icy burn on her heart.
"Why did he do this Harry?" she croaked. Her throat was choked with tears and scratchy from the yelling. Harry shook his head.
"I don't know Mione, I just don't know."

PLEASE REVIEW!
OH HEY.
Don't kill me, please. You all knew this was coming. Sooner or later, the prologue was coming back out. I'd just like to say that reviews would be very satisfying especially seeing as this is the longest chapter to date.
My inspirations for this chapter were the songs: We are never getting back together –Taylor Swift, Lips are Moving – Meghan Trainor and Dear Future Husband – Meghan Trainor.
I HAVE A QUESTION OR TWO FOR YOU GUYS THOUGH.
WHERE DO YOU GUYS THINK I SHOULD GO FROM HERE?
AND
WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE SOME MORE OF?
Please review or message me on these. I know what I still have to address (Lunch at St Hectors primarily) but I want to know where you guys think I should go from here.
Let me know!
