Harry's POV
"Mione, we should go. Come back to Grimmald place and spend the night. Get away from this place for a while." Harry murmured in her ear. The pair still sat on the couch in Hermione's lounge and Hermione looked like she wanted nothing more than to disappear into the faded cushions. Harry sighed as he looked at the mess that was tucked under his arm. He really wanted to give Ron a piece of his mind as he saw the red head leaving, but all he could do without going against Hermione's wishes was look at him with utter loathing. By God he wished he had broken his promise. He would have if he knew what was waiting for him inside. How devastated she was. There was no heart wrenching sobbing, just a never ending stream of icy cold tears. He wanted to go back out and hex the git all the way to France. Shaking his head to clear himself of such thoughts, he focused on getting the brunette witch to her feet and pulled her tight in his arms before apparating to Grimmald place. Setting Hermione gently on her feet, he called out for Kreacher. The little elf arrived before him and Harry quickly asked that the guest bedroom be prepared for Hermione. With a jerky nod he disappeared again to organise the room. Taking Hermione's hand he felt how clammy her skin had become and rubbing soothing circles on the back of her hand, led her up the steps. As they got to the guest bedroom, Kreacher had turned down the bed sheets and Harry sat her down.
"I'm gunna grab you something to wear for now and you're gunna get to sleep ok? Put everything on hold until the morning and we will go from there." He whispered to her. Leaving her sitting on the bed, Harry made his way to his room and grabbed her a pair of sleep shorts and a shirt. Returning to her and putting the clothes in her lap he sat beside her and put an arm around her once more, leaning his head against hers.
"Will you come with me to the ministry tomorrow to get the papers written up?" her question floated through the room.
"Of course Mione. I'll always be there for you, through thick and thin."

By the time ten o'clock rolled around, Harry and Hermione had been to the department of magical marriages, had to divorce papers written up, and were currently having a coffee at a small café a couple of blocks down from the public entrance. The divorce papers were clutched in Hermione's hand, she couldn't seem to put them down.
"Do you want to ambush him at work to get them signed?" Harry asked as he sipped his coffee. "At least then you would know that he cannot cause a ridiculously big fuss as he will be surrounded by people he would rather not know about you asking for a divorce."
Hermione sighed, "Harry that didn't even make sense. It's Ron; he's going to cause a scene no matter what I do or where I do it." Harry snorted delicately.
"Yes well I was trying to make the situation go a little better because yes indeed he will make a fuss no matter what."
"Let's just get this over with. To be completely honest with you, I'd rather do it at the Burrow. Molly is the only one that can still control him with a glare." She commented dully. With a flick of her wand, she sent out two notes. One to Molly asking if she could come around to make the divorce final and the second to Ron asking him to come to the Burrow as soon as possible to discuss their relationship…or lack thereof. As they drank the rest of their drinks she received a missive back from Molly agreeing to her proposal, and the two of them paid for their coffee and headed out to apparate to the Burrow.
Upon arrival at the Weasley home, Hermione was enveloped into a bone crushing hug as Harry and herself came through the door.
"He's here already dear. There's a calming draught in his tea to make sure things don't get too out of hand." Molly whispered into her ear. Hermione squeezed the woman in front of her. She wouldn't know how to deal with Ron if it weren't for this woman.
"Thank you." She whispered before letting go. Molly gave her a small smile and gently pushed her towards the sitting room before pulling Harry out to the kitchen. Taking hesitant steps, Hermione took a deep breath and entered the room to face Ron. As she stepped in, his face snapped to hers and he made to get up off the couch.
"Don't bother getting up Ronald. All I want is for you to sign these and then I don't want to see your face for a long time." She said detachedly. Ron sat back down properly and his freckled face turned puce.
"You can't expect me to just sign you away. Everyone expects us to be together and have kids in the distant future. You'll never get anywhere without me Hermione. No one else would want such a stuck up, boorish, old bookworm." He snarled. Hermione felt tears prick at her eyes and swore to herself that she wouldn't let them fall.
"And who would want you Ron? Your slut, Lavender? Everyone knows that she goes around sleeping with anyone that will have her. And after we divorce people are going to speculate as to why." She shot back. Hermione smiled sadly.
"What happens when you're on your own Ron? Harry isn't in here for a reason. That reason is that he wants to knock your lights out for what you've done. Your mother has enough sense not to let him near you right now."
Ron's anger seemed to abate for mere seconds before it returned in full force.
"You can't get me to sign the papers Hermione. You've got no evidence to force the issue either." He said smirking at her. "You will have to live the rest of your life married to me because there's no evidence to suggest infidelity, which is the only way to get out of a wizards marriage." Hermione shook her head at his foolishness. He really didn't understand.
"Ron, not only was I a witness to your infidelity, but there is also another witness and I'm sure we could call upon Rosemerta. You no longer have a claim to me." With that she placed the divorce papers on the coffee table and left the room for some air.

On the morning she was due to go to lunch at St. Hectors, a large tawny owl flew through the office window with a crumpled letter. Taking it from the owl and giving him a few treats, Hermione opened the letter and found the divorce papers from Ron. Crumpled, torn, ink stained and slightly damp, but signed with Ron's rats scrawl of a signature along the dotted line. A letter with her name on it was also inside the envelope and curiously she opened it.
Hermione
Here's the blasted papers. You can have your god damn condo, as if I would want your filthy bookshop attached to the place I live. Good luck finding someone like me to fill the empty void that has always been your life. You know you'll never get any better. I'm glad you never took my name because now everyone can see what a control freak you have always been. Not to mention no Weasley has ever been as stuck up and zealous as you.

What I want to know is which of the little orphans would you like to see again or more of?
I know, I know! I'm sorry it has taken me so long to update this and I'm leaving it at this particular point. Just don't shoot me ok?
This has been a bit of a filler chapter while I prepare for the lunch at St. Hectors scene.
Please Review! It gives me the hope to keep writing to know that there are readers out there that are willing to give me some kind of feedback!
