Nizzy on the rampage-
Summary: Izzy and Noah are married and have a four year old girl. Izzy does something stupid such as break into a government facility due to paranoia that they're planning to experiment on her child. This ends her up in an asylum. This also ends Noah up with long hours of unending child care to a child almost a crazy as Izzy. And taking care of one crazy girl was hard enough before all this.
"So, let me get this straight; you lost your job?"
Noah groaned. "Don't say it like that, Izzy. When you say it like that, I sound crazy."
She shrugged finally. "I'm just amazed, really. You're the most level-headed guy I know. I'm just surprised that that guy got a rise out of you. And for beating the crap out of him, I'm so proud of you!"
Noah winced. "You know, Izzy, it's saying things like that that make people think you're crazy."
She laughed and rolled her eyes. "You think I care?! I'm crazy cause I wanna be crazy."
"Speaking of crazy, I let Owen babysit Morgan, just so you're not worried I left her all alone."
Izzy shrugged. "I don't see why you called Owen. When I was her age, my parents left me alone all the time. And I grew up just fine."
Noah wasn't about to argue with the girl on the white-washed side of the glass wall. Instead, he found himself chuckling at her silliness. "Yeah, Iz, I wouldn't love you if you changed a hair on your head."
Izzy frowned. "Then you're not gonna love me for long. By the time they're done with me, you won't even be able to recognize a hair on my head."
Noah sighed, "Izzy, did you take your meds?"
"No, I slipped them into someone else's cup when they weren't looking."
Noah groaned, as he called over a employee to change the cups.
When Noah finally got home, it was around seven o'clock. He went to check on Morgan, and found her fast asleep on the couch. Owen was stroking her hair unconsciously, eying the clock. "How's Izzy!" He asked suddenly.
Noah was almost impressed that he'd detected him. Almost, "She's fine. A little homesick, and she misses Morgan, but other than that, I think she actually likes it there."
He caught the small smile on Owens face. "I'm happy for her. I don't think she could love you or Morgan more."
"She loves you, too, big guy," Noah said, not quite sure what to say.
Owen stood up. "Nah, she loves you more. Besides," he cast a look at the sleeping form of Morgan, "I couldn't love Morgan as much as a father should, if our places were reversed."
Noah watched him leave, then turned his attention back to his child. He scooped her up, carried her up the stairs, into her room. He gently placed her on the bed, kissing her forehead.
He was almost put the door when she called out, "Daddy, where's mama?!"
Noah didn't even flinch. Instead, he calmly walked over to her bed and sat down beside her. "Mommy did something stupid," he turned to explain carefully.
"What'd she do? Did she kill somebody?"
Noah's eyes widened. That was the first thing jumped to?! "She broke into a government facility because... do you know how she gets paranoid sometimes?"
Morgan nodded.
"Well, mama got one of her paranoia episodes, and decided that the government was experimenting on children." Noah made sure not to mention the part whee SHE was the kid the government was "experimenting" on.
"So she's a hero! Mommy's a hero! Did she get all the kids out?!" Noah was starting to regret saying any of this.
"Yeah, Momo, she got them all out."
"So the government's locking her up?!"
Noah mentally shrugged. Well, at least he was lying anymore. "Yep, you got it, kiddo."
"How long does she have to stay?"
This was getting harder than Noah wanted if to be. "Listen to me, Momo, sometimes a hero has to suffer a punishment, whether it's a broke bone or a hurt ego."
"Are they gonan break mama?"
Noah sighed. Man, this was tiresome! "No, Morgan. Mama's just fine."
"So, is that her punishment? Staying with the government?"
"For a while, yes. Now, pay attention." Noah sighed tiredly. "As I was saying, sometimes a hero's got to have a pinishment, and your mama's gonna have to stay with the government for a few weeks. They need to see what she learned."
Noah almost rolled his eyes. Back to the lying!
Morgan was surprisingly perceptive. "Oh, yeah, I get it. I remember mama telling me that her mama spent three years with the government for locking mama in the basement."
Noah winced. Izzy's mother wasnt exactly a hero. And it was true that his mother-in-law wasn't the sanest person in the world, but it didn't sound great coming from his daughter's mouth, especially with that little smile on her face. Izzy's dad wasn't much better either. In fact, he was still in jail.
Noah hugged his child close, and whispered, "Don't worry, she'll be back before you know it."
Morgan noted that he seemed to be saying it to himself as much as he was to her. "So, did she kill anybody?"
Noah was speechless. What was with this child and death?! Murder, no less.
"I knew it!" He heard her whisper triumphantly to herself.
He just rolled his eyes.
A few minutes after Noah left Morgan's room, he went back in.
He found her fast asleep, facing away from him. He felt a small smile creep onto his face.
She looked just like Izzy. No doubt, when she grows up, he'll be beating the boys off with a stick- just like Izzy's dad, when she was sixteen. That was part of the reason he was in jail... his weapon had been a little sharper than a stick. And the only reason why Noah wasn't in a million pieces was because Izzy came and beat the crap out of him before he could take a swing at Noah.
He smiled at the thought. "Who knows," he thought to himself, "I might try the same thing."
He turned and left the room, but not before muttering, "Sleep well, Morgan."
