It was a partly cloudy Monday morning in the Mshroom Kingdom. School was starting a brand new week. While some kids are delighted to start another exciting week of learning, others, well, had the classic case of Monday syndrome, which meant the dreading of Monday.

In Biology lab, room 206 in the upper levels of MKHS, the Biology teacher was giving his students a lecture upon viruses.

"Today, class, we will be discussing about viruses," the teacher announced, much to the students' dismay and boredom. "The virus is made up of five parts and is in the size range of 10 to 300 nm in diameter. The first is the coat made up of protein that protects the virus to a point. Next, is the head that contains the genetic material forthe virus. The genetic material for a virus is DNA. The two other parts are the tail sheath and the tail fibers that are used for odd jobs. I believe that a virus is not considered to be a living creature, due to the fact it is a parasitic reproducer. To me, it is just like ripping up a piece of paper because it is still the same thing and it isn't carrying out any other function besides reproduction. Since the virus cannot continue to do its functions without taking from a host and being a parasite, it is considered an obligated parasite."

As the teacher rambled on and on about the boring topic, Cassidy Mario, who was just as bored as the other students, was writing down what she thought she would need to know later on in her decorative notebook with a pink mechanical pencil.

"Also, I would like to introduce a new student to the class and to this school," the teacher noted. "Please welcome Prince Brandon Arcemount from the Ice Kingdom. He was homeschooled, so let's be considerate to him. He may be royal, but here he will be treated equally."

Cassidy looked up from her desk, only to fix her eyes on... the new kid.

He was 5'7 tall, he had platinum blonde hair in the style that resembled Justin Bieber's hair, icy-blue eyes, flawless, beautiful pale skin, and he wore a royal blue coat, black dress shirt, white pants, black boots, and a bronze-colored crown that stood atop of his head.

"Thank you, sir," Prince Brandon commented bowing respectively. "Where shall I sit?"

"Take the seat right next to Cassidy over there," the Biology teacher replied.

Cassidy's heart jumped upon hearing this as she watched Brandon walk up to the empty desk and took his seat.

"Now, let's discuss about tonight's homework. You all will need to have pages 200-204 of your workbooks finished and turned into me tomorrow," the teacher announced.

The bell rang, signalling the students to go to lunch.

As Cassidy sat at a small, circular high table in a recently-built hallway, eating a fruit salad, green apple slices with caramel packets, and flavored water, she noticed Brandon was coming towards her.

"Hello there," Brandon greeted to Cassidy.

Cassidy nearly choked on an apple slice as she saw the prince standing in front of her. Talking to her.

"Hello," Cassidy greeted back. "Aren't you from my Biology class?"

"Yes. May I sit with you?" Brandon asked politely.

"Yeah, sure."

Brandon pulled another chair from under the same table that Cassidy was sitting in. He climbed on the chair and took a seat and smiled at Cassidy, making her smile back.

"I've heard a lot about you, by the way," Brandon commented, his blue eyes looking at Cassidy. "You are Mario's sister, Cassidy, right?"

"I am," Cassidy replied, nodding lightly.

"I am honored to meet your aquaintance, Cassidy Mario," Brandon smiled politely.

And at this moment, Brandon then asked her, "Would you like to join me in a picnic after school?"

Cassidy's eyes widened as she coughed several times before regaining her composure, replying, "Yeah, sure."

Cassidy was now sitting in her bedroom, finishing the remaining homework she had to complete and trying to find the right outfit for the picnic she was having with Brandon. She, at last, found the perfect outfit!

It was a dress infused with colors of hot pink, teal, and purple, a dark denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, and size 10 Converses with the same design as the dress.

She quickly changed into the outfit, but she also had black short leggings that were about an inch above her knees, and she left her cap on.

"Perfect!" Cassidy commented as she looked at herself in her full-body mirror and smiled at her reflection.

She headed out of her bedroom and went to her brothers, who were sitting on the living room sofa and watching their favorite comedy sitcom, "George Lopez".

"Hey, guys, I gotta get to an important picnic. I'll see you later-"

"Wait a minute!" Luigi stopped her and examined her outfit. "You're going to this picnic with a guy, are you?"

"Yes," Cassidy replied skeptically, wary of her brother's teasing tone. "There's a new kid at school, Prince Brandon of the Ice Kingdom, and he offered to have a picnic with me. So what?"

"So what? You like him," Mario teased, folding his arms.

"I do not!" Cassidy retorted, slightly blushing as she played with her hair. "I just think he's... nice and polite... and... kinda cute."

"So you admit that you like him!" Mario replied teasingly.

"Shut up!" Cassidy shouted, pouting slightly. "Anyways, I'll be home in an hour or so. Don't worry. I'll be okay."

"As long as you're sure," Luigi replied.

"Okay, see you later, bros.!"

With that, Cassidy ran out of the house happily to the location of the said picnic.

Brandon was sitting on a royal blue picnic blanket on a grassy hill where he could see the sun and the clouds in the beautiful blue sky with a brown basket of food next to him.

A tap on his shoulder snapped him out of his thoughts, and he looked over his shoulder to see a well-dressed Cassidy looking down at him.

"You're here!" Brandon chirped as he gazed at Cassidy. "Please, have a seat."

He patted on a space on the blanket next to him, silently telling her to sit with him.

"Of course I am," Cassidy replied, sitting down.

"Yes," Brandon chuckled. "Would you like a sandwich?"

Cassidy nodded as Brandon reached into the basket and pulled out a triangular cucumber sandwich for her and another one for him.

"This tastes good," Cassidy commented as she bit into her sandwich. "So, uh, why don't you tell me about yourself?"

"Well, I am the prince of the Ice Kingdom, if you never caught that before. I was also home-schooled untill I have been transfered to MKHS."

"But why would you just go to public school rather than being home-schooled?" Cassidy asked, out of curiousity.

"Because I was tired of staying inside the castle all the time," Brandon explained. "You may think being royal has it's perks, but it's just a pain in the neck. Also, I wanted to be in a public school because there are so many options. From classes to activities. I am planning on taking choir, by the way."

"Really? I'm taking choir! I love to sing!"

"So do I!"

"Yeah," Cassidy agreed.

"Anyway, I wanted to get to know you, which was pretty much the reason why I planned this picnic," Brandon pressed on. "You know, who is Cassidy Mario?"

"Okay," Cassidy began to think deeply of who she is. "So, I'm in alot of clubs and sports, math is my favorite subject, I have the element of ice, and-"

"Pardon?" Brandon stopped her after hearing the word, 'ice'. "Forgive me, but if I heard correctly, you said you hold the element of ice?"

"Yeah, it's sort of a superhuman thing I have, like my brothers do. Watch this!"

With that, Cassidy stood up and cupped her hands together. She began to form icy mist through her palms and concentrate on it. Then, she raised her hands in the air and released the icy mist, making snowflakes fall for a few seconds.

"Bravo!" Brandon cheered as he applauded. "That is so amazing!"

"Thanks," Cassidy smiled.

"Oh, no trouble at aaAAALL!" Brandon yelped as he was suddenly grabbed and pulled into Bowser's clown copter.

"BOWSER!?" Cassidy shouted in surprise.

"Surprised to see me?" Bowser asked menicingly as he tied Brandon in ropes. "Since you had your dragon friend fry me, I thought I'd take ot upon myself and capture your prince! GWAHAHAHA! Ironic twist, ain't it?"

"Let him go!" Cassidy shouted, annoyed that Bowser crashed their picnic.

"If you want him, you'll have to get him back!" Bowser sneered as he took off with an annoyed Cassidy left behind. "SEE YA, PLUMB SCUM! GWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"Well, this sucks!" Cassidy groaned as she ran to a nearby item block, bashed it, and tapped a Tanooki Leaf, sprouting oit raccoon ears and a tail. "Just because I have Hooktail burn him, he crashes my picnic!"

She then jumped high into the air and flew after him in annoyance and fustration.

Cassidy entered Bowser's castle and landed feet-first on the bridge that led to the front door. She walked up to the door and it opened, prompting her to run inside and save the prince.

Once she entered, Bowser landed in front of her, as much to the teen's shock.

"Get outta my way, lardo!" Cassidy demanded, glaring at her enemy.

Bowser only grabbed Cassidy and threw her to the wall with a painful smash, ridding of her Tanooki powers.

"NO!" Cassidy shrieked as she realized that her powers were gone.

"Now this'll be a fair fight, now that I made you lose your powers!" Bowser crooned as his nostrils flared and he took a deep breath.

Cassidy quickly got back up and dodged the incoming fireball with a back flip. More fireballs were blown, being dodged by Cassidy's backflips. Cassisy stood behind Bowser and grabbed his tail, startling him. With the strength she gathered, she lifted him off the ground and spun him around several times, throwing him to his throne and smashing it to pieces, as well as the statues that surrounded them.

When Bowser got back up on his feet, his jaw dropped to the floor as he gazed at the broken throne and statues.

"MY THRONE!" He bellowed. "MY THRONE ROOOOM! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS, PLUMBER! GUARDS! AFTER HER!"

With the snap of his fingers, Goombas and Koopas ran in to attack Cassidy.

She, however, had other plans. She stomped on a Goomba, kicked a Koopa out of it's shell, threw the shell at a couple of Goombas and Koopas, grabbed a Gomba and chucked it at the other Goombas, and threw the last Koopa at Bowser's snout.

"OW!" Bowser winced as he held his bruised snout. "I'll be back, and when I am, I'm feeding your precious prince to the Chain Chomps!"

On cue, a warp pipe emerged from the floor and Bowser and his injured guards jumped in.

Cassidy, who's clothes were tattered, dirty, and partially torn, walked towards Brandon, who was tied against a flag pole with rope, and untied him.

"Thank you for saving me," Brandon thanked bowing.

"Yeah, no problem," Cassidy muttered, hanging her head as she headed for the door, with Brandon following.

She stood outside, with the wind flowing through her hair as it was now night time. She felt a light tap on her shoulder and turned to face Brandon.

"Brandon, I'm so sorry that had to happen! Our picnic's ruined because of Bowser crashing it because of me! I feel so guil-"

Cassidy's apoligies were interrupted with Brandon kissing her lips, making her eyes widen and her cheeks blush in a dark shade of red.

"Wh-Why did you-" She babbled, feeling slightly dazed from the sudden kiss.

"Because I-I like you. It doesn't matter that Bowser ruined our picnic, we had fun and you saved me," Brandon explained holding Cassidy's hands in his. "I wanted to go out with you ever since I laid my eyes on you. You are a sweet, tough, beautiful, couragous girl, and I would love to have you as my girlfriend, but if you do not feel the same way, I understand."

"Brandon, that's so thoughful, and, yes, I would love to be your girlfriend," Cassidy replied sweetly, smiling widely.

"Care to let me escort you home?"

Cassidy nodded as she hooked her right arm in his left arm and allowed him to take her back home like the proper gentleman he is.

"Here we are," Cassidy commented as she and Brandon stopped in front of her house.

"That was fun. Perhaps, we should go out next time," Brandon proposed as they made brief eye-contact.

"Yeah, I'd like that."

Cassidy knicked on the front door and knocked it, in return having Mario and Luigi answer it.

"So, you're Prince Brandon?" Mario asked to Brandon.

"Yes, and it is an honor to meet you, Mario and Luigi," Brandon replied bowing. "I should also let you know that your sister, here, has saved me from King Bowser."

"Really?" Luigi asked, glancing at Cassidy.

"Bowser crashed the picnic and he kidnapped him, so I rushed over and saved h him."

"Hm," The brothers replied, nodding.

"Well, I must be on my way. Will I see you in school tomorrow?" Brandon asked to Cassidy.

"You can count on it," Cassidy replied, smiling.

"Until then," Brandon then kissed her cheek, making her blush. "See you tomorrow, my pretty."

With that, Brandon turned around and walked away, leaving Cassidy giggling and babbling.

"Heeheeheeheehee... he called me pretty," She cooed, grinning widely as she closed her eyes and held her hands together, sighing blissfully.

"So, you got a boyfriend now, hm?" Luigi teased.

Cassisy eyes snapped open as she let her hands seperate.

"Oh, shut up!"
