The sun's rays shone down on the town of Mushroom Kingdom, signaling the start of another beautiful morning. The smell of gasoline filled the air of the Mario Circuit. Could this mean another Mario Kart tournament?
A click was heard from shutting the hood of a hot pink standard ATV, revealing Cassidy with a bandana to wipe of the sweat from her forehead, signaling that she was finally finished with fixing the bugs in the engine system. She lightly tapped the recently-inflated cyber-slick tires and came to the conclusion that she was ready to race.
"Finally finished," The pink plumber breathed, wiping her forehead and glancing at her brothers with a smirk. "Ready to eat my dust?"
Mario was simply applying a sticker onto the hood of his Mach 8, the logo being a white circle with a red M in the the center.
"Don't count on it," The plumber in red smirked back, leaning on his kart with one bent arm on the top of the seat and standing on one leg.
"Yeah, you won't be so lucky once I win!" Luigi added cooly, polishing the hood of his ppe frame kart.
"Good luck with that, bro," Mario commented, patting Luigi on the shoulder and pushing his kart to the starting line.
Cassidy rolled her eyes as did Luigi, pushing her ATV to the starting line, while the green plumber pushed his kart to the starting line, mumbling what Mario told him.
As the siblings took their places, Mario being in the middle, Luigi in the left, and Cassidy in the right, various cheering and shouting was heard from the bleachers and there held three groups, one for each plumber.
Team Mario: Yoshi, Peach, and Toad.
Team Luigi: Daisy and Daniel
Team Cassidy: Toadette, Hooktail, Birdo, Mona, Derielle, Savannah, Boo, Dry Bones, and Brandon.
"GO, MARIO!" Yoshi cheered with Toad and Peach rooting alongside him.
"KILL 'EM, LUIGI!" Daisy screeched alongside her older brother, Daniel.
"YOU CAN DO IT, CASSIDY!" Toadette hollered, holding two pink pom poms and shaking them wildly.
"YEAH! ROCK IT!" Dry Bones whooped with Boo.
"GO, GIRL, GO!" Mona, Birdo, Hooktail(in Yoshi form), Derielle, Daisy's younger sister, and Savannah.
( A/N: Savannah, Derielle, and Daniel are other OCs that I've been thinking about recently. I'll explain about them in later chapters.)
"You got this, my love!" Brandon yelled, holding a megaphone.
As the crowd continued screaming and cheering, Lakitu hovered in front of the racers, holding a traffic sign on a fishing rod.
"Three, two, one! GO!"
With that said, all three Marios took off in a flash, one trying to get in first place.
As they headed for the first curve, the drifted through, minding the wandering Goombas and going through the rose arch and onto the wooden bridge. Their wheels turned sideways and allowed the plumbers to race on the ground without falling off as they each took an item from the floating item blocks.
Mario had a green shell, Luigi had a banana peel, and Cassidy had a mushroom.
They were no longer on the bridge, but now came a problem: the Piranha Plants. The racers easily drifted away from the man-eating plants and were now headed for a wooden ramp.
Mario decided that now would be a good time to use his shell. With caution, he aimed the shell at Luigi, and had a direct hit on him, making his way to the lead with ease and jumping off the ramp with a cool-looking jump out of his seat and back down.
Cassidy jumped off the ramp and performed a trick involving her to raise her right leg in the air, using her mushroom after the sudden boost she had from the landing.
Luigi set up his banana peel at the ramp after gliding onto it and performing a jump with a trick similar to Mario's.
After the tricks, the racers curved around another turn and avoided the other Piranha Plants. They rode another bridge that allowed them to switch their tires back into their normal positions. They crossed the finish line, starting the second lap.
"Lap two!" Lakitu cried, holding a white sign with 'Round 2' on it.
1st: Mario
2nd: Cassidy
3rd: Luigi
They took a curve at the turn and approached the bridge, clicking the button that turned their wheels into tools that allowed them to race on the upside-down areas of the race track. They grabbed the item boxes and got their new items.
Mario got a triple banana peel, Luigi got a green shell, and Cassidy got a triple green shell.
Mario set up his banana peels in a vertical row, but Cassidy threw one of her shells at one of the banana peels, and she threw another shell at Mario, hitting him successfully and taking the lead. As Mario was just starting to recover, though, Luigi threw his shell at him, earning second place.
As the racers passed through the other obstacles with ease, they crossed the finish line the second time, starting the final lap.
"Final lap!" Lakitu yelled, holding a 'Final Round' sign.
1st: Cassidy
2nd: Luigi
3rd: Mario
This time, the item boxes disappeared.
The racers drifted across the curves, crossed the bridge, and avoided the Goombas and Piranha Plants with the same amount of ease as the other laps.
"Wanna quit now?" Cassidy taunted, smirking all the while.
"No way!" Mario shouted back, gaining on Luigi.
"Victory will be mine!" Luigi yelled, slamming the gas pedal.
The racers drifted across the next curve and away from the Piranha Plants, going over the last bridge and rapidly approaching the finish line. As the cheering and yelling got louder, the siblings were neck-in-neck, slamming their gas pedals.
And the winner is...
"FINISH! CASSIDY WINS!" Lakitu announced with glee as he waved a small checkered flag.
"I WIN!? NO WAY! I WIN!" Cassidy screeched joyfully, stopping her ATV and jumping around while waving her cap in the air.
Toadette, Hooktail, Birdo, Derielle, Savannah, Brandon, Boo, and Dry Bones screamed and hollered as they jumped out of the bleachers and surrounded their winner, jumping around with Cassidy.
"That was great, Mario!" Peach congratulated, kissing her boyfriend's cheek.
"Yeah, you may have lost, but before that, you were doing so good!" Toad added, fist bumping him.
"You were awesome, Luigi!" Daisy chirped, squeezing Luigi in a bone-crushing hug.
"Yeah! Way to go, man!" Daniel commented, slapping Luigi on the back.
"YEAH! YOU DID IT, CASSIDY!" Toadette cheered waving her pom poms wildly, skipping around Cassidy.
"YOU WERE SO TOTALLY AWESOME!" Mona screeched happily.
Mario and Luigi got together and watched their sister being showered in compliments and cheering, looking at each other.
"She did good," Mario commented, folding his arms and nodding.
"Yeah, let's go talk to her," Luigi replied, motioning his brother to follow him.
"I knew you could do it, my love!" Brandon complimented, kissing Cassidy's cheek. "You were so amazing!"
"Well, you did it!" Hooktail remarked, smiling and nodding.
"You were so amazing, dahling!" Derielle applauded. "I could cry!"
"Excuse us!" Mario pressed on as he and Luigi squeezed in and approached their sister. "You were great, sis!"
"Really great!" Luigi added.
"Thanks, bros," Cassidy replied, hugging her brothers. "It's been fun."
"It was fun," Mario smiled, folding his arms.
"Yeah," Cassidy nodded before getting raised up in the air by her team. "WOAH! I gotta go. I'll see you when I get home."
Team Cassidy then carried their captain off, cheering, "RED HOT! OUR GIRL IS HOT! HOT! OUR GIRL IS RED HOT! SHE CAN'T BE STOPPED! STOPPED! OUR GIRL IS R-E-D H-O-T! WATCH HER, WATCH HER, CAN'T BE STOPPED! RED HOT! OUR GIRL IS HOT! HOT! OUR GIRL IS RED HOT! SHE CAN'T BE STOPPED! STOPPED! YEAH!"
As the cheering got softer as the group went off, Mario and Luigi watched them take off, smiling all the while. Bottom line, the siblings had fun with their private race and hoped to have another just as fun as this one.
