The rest of the day was filled with laughs, long stories by Sofia, and loving glances between Callie and Arizona. As the perfect day was drawing to an end, they decided it was probably best to call it a night. Arizona was the one who picked up the tired little girl and carried her up the stairs, Callie following closely behind. Sofia had been a lot more tired than they all thought because by the time they made it into the child's room, she was fast asleep on Arizona's shoulder.

Callie rolled down the covers and Arizona gently laid their daughter down onto the small bed. The Latina bent down and placed two long kisses on Sofia's forehead and whispered something in her ear. Arizona had watched Callie interact with their daughter all day, but this right here, was her favorite moment. The blonde ran her fingers through fine black hair, then held out her hand for Callie to take. Callie closed the door behind them, and swung their hands back and forth making Arizona giggle.

Once they made it to their room Callie flopped down onto the bed and sighed heavily. Trying to rub the tiredness out of her eyes, she sat up on her elbows and could see the blonde's mind reeling from where she sat. "Arizona?"

Arizona had stopped all movements as soon as they walked through the door, again letting her mind take over. "Today went well, right?" she asked unsure of herself.

Callie was quickly up off the bed and standing right in front of Arizona. Taking a sad face into her hands, "Today was perfect. You did amazing. And… and Sofia? God, it's like nothing happened." She could see the tears beginning to form in blue eyes, so she brought the nervous body into hers and whispered, "We're going to be okay."

Arizona ripped herself from Callie's embrace and took a couple steps back shaking her head. "How do you know that? I mean really? Do you know what I was thinking today? What I was hoping?" Callie cocked her to the side with a quizzical look. "I… I was hoping that Sofia would be my trigger…" Her voice became very small and she couldn't take her eyes off the floor. "But she wasn't Callie. Nothing came back to me…"

Callie was completely torn to shreds seeing how vulnerable her wife had just become. Taking three large steps she wrapped her arms around Arizona again, whether she wanted it or not. After a couple of seconds she stood back and held the blonde at arm's length, "Look at how far you have come since the accident. You woke up thinking you were someone completely different, and then slowly accepted the fact that that's not who you were. You went from hating me to loving me…" She cringed a little at her choice of words, Arizona hadn't really said that she loved Callie just yet. But she knew it was there. "It took you almost a month to remember Sofia, and she's a big part in your life. So everything else is going to take time, you just have to be patient."

Arizona hung her head again and scoffed, "Callie. What if they never come back?"

The Latina took a deep breath and lifted Arizona's chin with her finger. "If they don't come back, then we go on living the way we are now. You make new memories and hold on to the ones you have. You have everyone in your corner Arizona. You have me, Sofia, your friends, your parents, and my dad, everyone at work. You are not alone in this, and you never will be." She choked on her last words, because they were true. She was never going to leave Arizona ever again, even if that meant waiting ten years for the blonde to let her walls back down.

Arizona broke out a small smile, but then it quickly fell. "My parents?"

Callie's eyes went wide, she didn't even realize she brought them up but it was now or never for her to know everything she was missing. "Umm… Arizona maybe you should sit down." She tried to motion her wife onto the bed but was forcefully pushed away.

"Calliope I told you to tell me everything. And you continue to freaking lie to me!" Her voice was straining back tears, but it was still powerful. "You need to tell me everything now! Stop acting like I'm this fragile piece of glass that you're going to break. I can handle it. It may take time for me to wrap my head around it, but jesus Callie. Stop lying to me…" Her heart was literally hurting. Not because of the news, but because she thought she could trust Callie, and now she felt like that was a mistake.

Callie saw the hurt splattered on Arizona's face, and sat down on the bed in defeat. Arizona was right, she was treating her like she was fragile and was keeping things from her wife because of it. Arizona had made her way across the room and stood right in front of Callie, waiting. "Okay…" she took a deep breath and began. "When you woke up from your coma, you told us about the life you had dreamed of. Part of that was you thinking your parents were dead. I didn't know how to handle it, so I didn't tell you that they weren't. You didn't even know who I was, so that kind of news would have destroyed you… I was told if I gave you big pieces of your past I may lose you." Her voice was quiet and when she looked up, Arizona's stare was blank. "I didn't tell you because I was being selfish. Arizona, they were by your side in a matter of hours once they got the call from me. And stayed by your side until you woke up. I told them to leave, just like I did with Sofia because you weren't adjusting to your new life. Not until you came home."

Arizona kept her hold on the Latina, trying to stay tough but it was quickly fading with each word that fell from plump lips. "The moment I started to adjust you should have told me. I trusted you Callie, I begged you to tell me everything that night and you didn't. We could have gotten Sofia back earlier if you wouldn't have waited, and I could be spending time with my parents who I thought was dead!" Arizona couldn't take it anymore, she threw her hands up to her face and began balling. "Telling me… wouldn't have made me leave. But lying to me… making me believe in you… will." And with that she was out the door, and down the hall.

Callie ran after her, rushing down the stairs she could see the front door opening and closing, but was quickly met with strong hands holding her back. Callie tried to fight him, but was losing because of all the emotions that were taking over. Her body fell limp into her father's arms, as they both sank to the floor. Callie could no longer hold back the tears, turning into the man's chest she let it all go and then some. This was the moment she was dreading, Arizona leaving. She knew Arizona would come back for Sofia, but what would happen when they got back home? That thought terrified the Latina.

Callie slightly recovered herself from the melt down, and found the nearest phone. She wasn't going to lose Arizona, but if she did it would have to be after this. Quickly dialing an all too familiar number she held the phone up to her ear impatiently. Tapping her foot till she heard a click on the other end, her heart dropped at the sound of a smooth hello.

"Barbara? It's Callie… I think it's time you and Daniel come and visit Miami."

The conversation was short, but to the point. This is what Arizona needed, that comfort and safety back in her life. If Callie couldn't be that comfort then she would find someone to make that happen, and her parents were the best choice. She took a deep breath and let her head fall back onto her shoulders. As she was slowly exhaling she could feel eyes on her.

Snapping her head back her eyes went dark. "What do you want?"

The smaller woman took a couple steps toward Callie, and smiled. "Now I know that is not how I raised you to talk to me, Calliope." Her soft voice was barely audible but it sent Callie straight to the edge.

"You know you're right." She said while nodding, "But since I've been here for what? Eight hours, and you just now decide to come talk to me when Arizona is out there alone. I think my approach was appropriate." She turned around to lean against one of the counters, taking more than just one deep breath.

Lucia linked her fingers behind her back and tried to keep calm. "Calliope this isn't you…" She started but was quickly interrupted.

"Isn't me? You don't even know me. You didn't show up to my wedding because you couldn't get over the fact that the person I was marrying was a woman. You wouldn't hold my child because you figured she was a bastard child. I hate to break it to you, but I am still incredibly in love with that woman I married. And I am trying with all of my power to make her feel safe and wanted, but its soo damn hard with voices like yours screaming in my head…" Callie was shaking at this point, but her voice was beginning to fail her. "Arizona's parents will be here tomorrow, I would appreciate it if you didn't make a big deal about it. For Arizona's sake."

The older woman shook her head in disbelief that her own daughter was talking to her like this. "What I don't appreciate is you inviting unwanted people into my home. I think it may be best if I just don't come down at all."

Callie started laughing and wiping away the tears that came rolling down her cheeks. "You know what Mama, I don't care what you do… I just… I just need to get Arizona back, that's all I care about right now. Not this bull crap." She ended by waving her hand in between her and her mother.

Callie opened the front door and stepped out for some fresh air. The night sky twinkled brightly, with a light breeze tickling her nose. She closed her eyes and sat down on one of the steps. This wasn't how tonight was supposed to play out. All she wanted was to mold her body into Arizona and kiss her till they fell asleep. The reunion went so well, actually the entire day was perfect. Then everything took a left turn into disaster. Now the love of her life was roaming the streets of Miami by herself, alone. It killed Callie knowing she was the reason causing Arizona all this pain and destruction. Arizona really did trust her, and she abused her power. Of course Callie had the right intentions but Arizona really did needed to know everything, and she lied. She couldn't get ice cold blue eyes out of her mind, they were engraving themselves into her brain. It was that same cold stare the blonde gave her when she lost her leg. Callie wanted to rip her heart out and let someone else have it, because she didn't deserve to have one. She put her face in the palm of her hands and sighed heavily. No more tears would come, but quiet sobs were interrupting the peaceful night.

"Calliope come sit next to me."

Callie jumped at the sudden voice, and when she looked over there she was. Arizona was sitting there on the porch swing with her legs brought up to her chest wrapped in her arms. Callie felt a wave of relief wash through her veins as she slowly made her way over to her wife. She didn't really know what to say or even do. She knew what she wanted to say and do, but didn't know how Arizona would react so she kept to herself. Callie sat on the far end of the swing and pushed off with her feet, making it gently glide through the air.

"Arizona…" Callie began but didn't know how to finish.

The blonde put her legs down and propped her elbow on the arm rest, setting her chin on her palm. Sighing deeply, "I still trust you… Just not like I did."

Callie closed her eyes and clenched her teeth. She let the swing come to a stop before she worked up what to say next, "I deserve that…I called them. They'll be here tomorrow morning." She braced herself for the explosion that was ready to erupt.

Arizona tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and stood up folding her arm's across her chest. "Then we should probably get some sleep."

Callie shook her head and stood up next to Arizona, "We need to talk about this." She tried to lace their fingers together, but the blonde pulled away and turned her body out towards the street. "Arizona, talk to me." She pleaded.

"I don't want to talk anymore. We've done enough of that today." Her voice was low and distant. Her mind somewhere else. "I just want to go to bed Callie."

The use of her nickname made her heart drop. Arizona didn't really use it very much unless she was upset, and right now only proved to Callie how distraught this woman was. "Okay." She walked to the door and held it open for her wife, but when she walked up to Callie she wouldn't look at her and brushed right past her.

The bedroom was cold, and dark. The blonde changed in the bathroom and got into the bed instantly turning her body away from the Latina. She tucked both hands under head and closed her eyes. Callie lied in the bed like a dead person, looking up at the white ceiling. This bed was bigger than the one they had at home, so Arizona felt miles away. She hated it. Callie didn't want it this way, but she knew that the best way for Arizona to come back to her was to give her space.

The morning came agonizingly slow for Callie, and when she woke up Arizona wasn't in the bed. She wished she could roll over and see that the blonde was in the shower singing into a bar of soap, but that wasn't the case. The bathroom door was wide open, and her bag had been gone through. Callie sleepily got up and out of bed in one swift move and made her way to Sofia's room. She got butterflies when she peeked in seeing her wife on the floor dressing up Barbie dolls with her daughter. She figured this would be good for Arizona before her parents came, letting her get familiar with one piece of her life before another.

As soon as Callie reached the bottom of the steps the doorbell rang. The house went quiet when she unlocked the door and opened it to two very tired but excited people. Not even two seconds after opening the door did Barbara wait to take the brunette into her arms in a loving embrace. Callie smiled and opened her eyes to see Daniel nodding and reaching out for Callie's hand to quickly hold. They didn't have a close relationship, but it was enough to make an actual family.

Callie let go of the smaller woman and looked at her with sad eyes, "She's upstairs with Sofia." Swallowing hard, "I don't know how she's going to react, but she did well with our daughter so… I'm going to assume the best." She finished with a weak smile and a nod of her head.

Barbara cupped Callie's cheek and spoke softly, "You did the right thing." After Callie's call last night she could tell by the tone in the woman's voice that Arizona had hurt her, but could tell that she hurt herself even more.

Callie leaned into the loving hold of her mother-in-law. She felt more at home when this woman was around, then she did with her own mother. Callie took their bags and told them to wait in the living room, having her father lead them away. She stood at the end of the steps staring up into crystal blue eyes. Her throat went dry at the sight of her wife. Her hair was straight, showing off every naturally white highlight. She never noticed how long her hair was getting, but she liked it and wanted to twist her hands in it. She had on the outfit she had picked out the first day she came back, Callie's favorite outfit. Arizona slowly walked down the stairs until she came face to face with a star struck Latina.

Standing on the bottom step made the blonde just a tad taller than Callie, which made what she was about to do a lot easier. She tangled her fingers in messy black hair and ran her eyes all over that beautiful face. A soft thumb moved down to trace over a slightly pouting bottom lip, as dark blue locked onto brown. Callie dropped the bags and settled her hands on Arizona's hips bringing her closer. The blonde tilted her head to the side and captured Callie's wanting lips. It was hard but they didn't explore, they just locked lips and stayed there.

When Arizona pulled away she placed her forehead on Callie's and inhaled. Callie rubbed their noses together and smiled, "Are you ready?"

Arizona didn't open her eyes because she didn't want the moment to end just yet, but nodded her head against Callie's. The Latina took a nervous hand into hers, and led them into the living room. Arizona hid behind Callie almost childlike, she didn't think she would be this nervous. When they rounded the corner she saw an older blonde flip around and cover her mouth with a fragile hand. The man standing next to her stuck his hands in his pockets and rocked back and forth with a smile spreading like wild fire across his face. Callie winked at Arizona and stepped aside for Barbara to look at her daughter better.

"Arizona…" was all the woman was able to say. The last time she saw her daughter she was in a hospital bed with tubes coming out of her mouth. It wasn't a site a mother ever wanted to see their child in, and that had been the second time it happened.

Arizona cleared her throat but nothing came out, so she just smiled. Suddenly the darker blonde couldn't take it anymore and swept Arizona up in her arms, crying into her hair. Arizona just stood there. When Sofia did this, she hugged the little girl right back but this time she couldn't even manage to wrap one arm around this woman. Her mother. She tried really hard to convince herself that this was her mother, but it wasn't convincing enough.

When Barbara released her daughter, Arizona took a step back and looked at Callie. She noticed she never let go of the Latina's hand while her mother embraced her, and didn't plan on letting go after either. "This is hard for me." Finally able to get her voice going.

Barbara gave her a sympathetic smile, "We know darling, we're just glad you're okay Arizona."

The blonde tightened her grip on Callie's hand and moved even closer to her. "No. You don't know." She didn't want this to come out harsh, so she kept her voice as soft as possible. "I thought you were dead. I can still feel the pain and sorrow that I felt when it happened… And now.." Her voice began failing again, but she wanted to push through. For Callie. "It's going to take me some time to get used to this. I'm here… but I need time."

Callie pulled her wife closer and gripped Arizona's forearm, assuring her that this was good. Arizona gave a faint smile and sat them down onto the couch. She was there, and was willing to listen to what they had to tell her. Callie had put herself through hell, only for Arizona to say she was basically giving up on them. She wasn't doing this for her or for her parents, she would do this for Callie. She would at least try.

Today went much like it did yesterday, but without the connections she felt towards Sofia. She listened, laughed and really actually tried. A couple hours of spending time with them she realized that they wouldn't be her trigger either, it made her heart sink and she was quickly losing any hope she had left. They ate an incredible dinner and drank a few glasses of wine before calling it a night. Her parents insisted that they should get a hotel room, but Carlos wouldn't have it. So they stayed in the downstairs guest bedroom, a couple doors down from Sofia's. It warmed her heart a little though, seeing how much of a family they all really were. She wanted that feeling back, that feeling of being a part in something so wonderful. Looking at Callie she could tell that that feeling would come very soon, because Callie was home.

Callie had taken a quick shower before they went to bed. Arizona sat up in bed reading some home décor magazine she found in the night stand next to her. She giggled when she remembered what she had found in Callie's night stand at home. Then she wondered if they ever used it one each other, it kind of turned her on. She didn't know what their sex life was like before, would it be different now? It probably was amazing if Callie was willing to give up everything for her, she thought. A devious grin grazed her lips, she was really tempted to find out tonight but knew she wasn't ready. There was just something she needed before that final wall could come down. She didn't know what that was, but she knew she needed it.

Callie walked into the room with just boy shorts and a sports bra on, making a deep moan rumble in her dry throat. The Latina's body was mesmerizing, and she wanted to see more. "Callie?" she asked.

The brunette sat onto the bed and began putting lotion on her smooth tan legs. "Hmm?" Not even looking up to the blonde who basically drooling over her.

Arizona bit her bottom lip and tossed the magazine on the floor next to her. "Can we go on a date tomorrow?" Callie's head shot up and looked at her confused. "I mean only if you want to. I know that was kind of out of nowhere. And we're married, so it's not like we have to go on dates. I want to spend time away from this mansion, and have some fun. But you know if you don't want to, I totally understand. It's not a bid deal or anything, I just thought I'd ask…"

Callie's smile was from ear to ear hearing her wife ramble on about nothing. It made her heart skip a beat when Arizona asked to go on a date with her, and made her want to jump her bones when she admitted that they were married. The only thing she could do was hold her stomach and laugh till tears started streaming down her face.

Arizona shifted awkwardly in the bed, feeling a little embarrassed by her question. "Oookaayyy… I guess that's a no?"

Callie calmed down a little and moved to the middle of the bed, sitting up on her knees she took Arizona's hand in hers and lightly caressed the back of it with her thumb. "Arizona I would love to go on a date with you." Her chuckling dissipated and her eyes turned three shades darker. "Whatever you want, I will make happen."

Arizona swallowed hard and a wide smile smacked her face. She swiftly removed the covers, and tackled Callie into the bed kissing her everywhere and nowhere. After their fit of kisses and giggling, Arizona lifted her head and looked deep into brown eyes. Stilling her body and hardening her face, she became as serious as she could let herself be. Lifting one eyebrow she stated firmly, "I want you… In a bikini."

Callie threw her head back in another fit of laughter, that was definitely not what she was expecting. Tightening her grip around the thin frame she smiled, "Whatever you want."
