Beca smiled as she sat on the couch in her fathers house. She and Jesse had come back to Barden for a Bella reunion performance and had decided to stay with her father and stepmother rather than paying for a hotel. Plus, in staying with her dad, they had a built in babysitter for their energetic three year old. Beca was just finishing up a story when Jesse came through the door with a squalling toddler. The little girl flung herself at her mother and Beca looked at Jesse confused.

"What happened?" Beca asked as she carried her daughter upstairs

"We got ice cream and as we were getting in the car to come home and Bumper walked up" Jesse replied

"What did he say?"

"He asked who my wife was, I told him it was you. He asked if you were the one that pushed me away freshman year. I told him yes and he asked if you had kind of left me once, how was I sure you wouldn't do it again. Then he started into how he couldn't remember you ever wanted children and how was I sure you wouldn't leave me with the little brat. His words, not mine"

"Oh no"

"Thus the screaming until she got home and saw you"

Beca gently ran her fingers through her daughters hair and smiled as the little girl looked at her, tears still streaming down her cheeks.

"Emily, are you ok now?" Beca asked softly

"No leave me" Emily sobbed softly

"Emily Jo Swanson. I will never, ever leave you or daddy. You two are my world and I could never walk away from that"

"Pinky swear"

"Pinky swear. Now, why doesn't mommy lay down with you and we can snuggled and take a nap."

The little girl nodded and Beca gently laid them down on the bed and smiled as her daughter curled into her body and fell asleep. Beca turned her head and smiled at Jesse. He leaned over the two of them and kissed Beca softly on the lips before kissing his daughters forehead. Beca smiled and handed Jesse the phone from her back pocket.

"Can you call Aubrey and tell her I can't make the Bella rehearsal. Em needs me right now" Beca said softly

"Sure" Jesse replied "I love you Beca. I know you would never leave us"

"You got that right! Love you too nerd"

Jesse smiled and walked out of the room. He came back up an hour later and smiled at Beca asleep with Emily. He snapped a quick picture with his phone before gently waking Beca up and guiding her out into the hall.

"I have a surprise for you" Jesse said softly

"What is it?" Beca asked

"I called Aubrey and told her the situation. She and the Bella's are coming over here to hang out and practice. I cleared it with you dad, and it's fine because he and Shelia are on the way out for their long weekend away"

"Awesome."

"They are brining pizza and non alcoholic drinks and will be here in about an hour"

"Very nice"

Beca smiled as she kissed Jesse softly before leading him down stairs.
