Draco Malfoy stared out of the window in the train, contemplating his next moves to assassinate the Headmaster. Pansy Parkinson, Blaize Zabini, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle sat with him, discussing trivial things such their Christmas presents and which one of them is the best.
Don't they see that there are more things important than Christmas presents? He was lucky that the Dark Lord personally picked him to do a job. He was lucky that he had found someone that he wanted to share his life with after this whole thing was done and over with. Or, were they the ones that were lucky because their families weren't on the line like his was? That they don't have to worry about getting their significant other getting threatened and killed?
Yes, he had realized it over break. Draco had realized that he wanted the green-eyed beauty to be by his side after this war was over. He planned on wooing her once more (and correctly this time) then marry her and maybe have a male heir or two.
"Draco?" a voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He looked up to see his Slytherin friends staring at him expectantly.
He slightly frowned in annoyance for disturbing him before he stood up. "Excuse me," he said and walked out of the door.
He only got a few steps before he heard a familiar voice behind him. "Two Cauldron Cakes, three Pumpkin Juices, five Chocolate Frogs and an All Flavor Jellybeans, please." His eyes widened before he slowly turned.
And there she was. The outfit she wore was plain: blue jeans, black knee-high boots with buckles on the side, red long-sleeved top and a white scarf hanging around her neck. But somehow, she managed to make it look stunning. He forgot to breath, his heart skipped a beat and everything around him disappeared. It was just he and she.
But that moment ended too soon, for she was turning her back on him and walking away without any indication that she had noticed him at all. No, he silently begged. Don't leave. Please, don't leave. Come back.
"Excuse me, can you please move out of the way?" a voice behind him said. Draco turned to see the one of the Slytherin transfer students looking at him irritatingly; Nico was his name he believed.
Nico looked past Draco to see the object of his heart walking away from them before frowning and looked again at him. Nico narrowed his eyes, "Let's get one thing straight alright? Stay away from Ariana, got it?"
Draco sneered and was about to retort back when Nico shoved past him and followed his girl. He felt his blood boil. He closed his eyes in an attempt to control his emotions. Now's not the time, he thought. Patience is a virtue.
Letting out a shaky breath, he stalked through the corridor back to his compartment.
" . . . I'm telling you. There's something fishy going on with those foreigners," a voice once again stopped Draco on his tracks. "I've looked at every wizarding school that I could find, and I've even looked at the muggle schools but none were called Camp Half-Blood." Now Draco recognized the voice, Hermione Granger, the wizard wannabe.
"Perhaps it's a code or something," suggested Ron. "Maybe it's short for Camp for Assassinating Half-Bloods and Muggleborns." At this, Draco rolled his eyes. This proves his theory of purebloods being superior above all other.
"Honestly, Ron," said Hermione. "Where do you come up with this kind of stuff?"
"Well," started Harry. "There could be a possibility that they could be spies for Voldemort." Draco flinched. "I mean, why else would a Gryffindor have contact with a Slytherin?" Draco froze. Had they noticed his feelings for Ariana?
"They could be," said Hermione. "And if they are spies for the Dark Lord, then they wouldn't be in any other houses aside from Slytherin and some of them are even in Hufflepuff."
Draco heard a chorus of agreement. "In any event, keep an eye out for them." He had heard enough. Draco turned and walked away from the 'Golden Trio's' compartment and into his own.
There was no way Ariana could be a half-blood, is there? Thought Draco. No, no way. She's too knowledgeable about magic to be a half-blood. Besides, she came with a pure white Pegasus and those creatures are picky with who they allow to ride.
"Greetings, fellow students and staffs," greeted Dumbledore from the head table. "I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas break. But before we start the feast there will be a slight change in the schedule for the rest of the year." A murmur rose from the students. "After classes on Friday, I would like for all of you to report to the Quidditch field for a little event that will carry on for the rest of the year. Be sure to dress comfortably for you will be moving a lot." I smirked along with the other demigods. Oh, this is going to be fun. "But for now, let the feast begin!"
Automatically, the other demigods and I got up and gave our offerings and the other students paid us no mind as it was becoming common.
"So," Percy started. "What were you guys up to during break?" He asked Harry, Hermione and Ron even though we knew Harry and Ron spent the break fixing their house.
The three exchanged glances. They were probably suspicious since we hardly talked to them all year round. I don't blame them. I would be the same if I were in their shoes. "I spent the time in Paris," answered Hermione cautiously. "And spent my time learning more about wizarding camps and schools around the world and studying for-"
"Hold it," I said. Hermione stopped. "You went on a vacation to Paris, France and you spent your time on books and papers?" She nodded. "You're so weird! You can't go on a vacation to Paris and study! That's like against the rules!"
"What's against the rules?" asked Thalia as she sat in front of me after burning her meal.
I pointed my fork at Hermione. "She went vacationing in Paris and all she did was bury herself in books."
Thalia looked at Hermione and shook her head. "Your crazy. I'd spend my time sight seeing and eating authentic French cuisine." Percy and I nodded our heads in agreement.
"So, what di you guys do?" asked Ron with food in his mouth. I wrinkled my nose in distaste.
"I spent the time by going to a seven day retreat with my 'Girl Scout' troops," answered Thalia.
Really sexist Girls Scouts, I scoffed mentally. "Percy and I were with some extended eternally messed up relatives."
"You know you love us, Ariana," said Thalia, 'hurt.'
"You three are related?" asked Harry.
"Yup," said Percy. "Nico, Thalia, Ariana and I are cousins through our fathers."
"You're related to that Slytherin?" asked a very much-shocked Ron.
I narrowed my eyes. "Is there anything wrong with that?" I asked, challenging him to say yes.
Thalia, Percy, Harry and Hermione paled, sensing the danger. "No!" Answered Hermione for him as Harry shoved an apple into his mouth. "Nothing's wrong with that."
I smiled satisfied. "Good!" And I went back to eating. My friends began to breathe again.
"What do you guy's think of the change of schedule?" asked Hermione.
I shrugged and made the 'I-don't-really-care' look. Seriously, what was I going to say: I'm looking forward to beating you wizards up? Hades, no. I really don't want to explain why. It's too bothersome.
"Honestly, I find it annoying," replied Thalia.
I grabbed a muffin from a plate and chew it to hide my smile when Hermione had a look of understanding appear on her face. I had a feeling that Hermione thought that Thalia doesn't want too lose time studying for the O.W.L.s.
Thalia doesn't even care for school. Had Lady Artemis not made her come to this quest, she wouldn't even be here right now. Knowing Thalia, she's probably annoyed with being stuck on teaching boys how to shoot an arrow.
"I think that it'll be interesting," said Percy.
He, like me, is also looking forward to making these wizards sweat and work. Seriously, if we demigods didn't have our weekly workout, we would have been out of shape by November. They rather ate too much everyday and they don't do any physical activities aside from Quidditch. But, that doesn't even count since all they do was sit on their brooms the whole time. The most they got was walking from their dorms to their classes.
I tuned my friends out for the rest of the feast and let my eyes wandered around the Great Hall. The professors were talking amiably with themselves while the rest of the student body were chattering among themselves about how great their vacation was and what presents they received from friends and family.
I heard one of my fellow Gryffindors said that he got the latest fastest broomstick, which was the Nimbus 2006. Another claimed that they went to Romania and saw dragons. A 5th year muggleborn wizard stated that she got the latest iPad, to which her other muggleborn friends gushed over in excitement and her other pureblooded wizard friends stared in confusion.
It was then that I felt like someone was watching me. I let my eyes roamed around the Great Hall trying to find the culprit as casually as I can. It wasn't long before my eyes caught the culprit. It was none other than Draco Malfoy. I locked eyes with him from across the hall and tensed, not knowing whether I should be angry, sad or hopeful of seeing him so soon. I decided to go for the neutral and remained poker faced.
I wasn't sure how much time had passed but fingers snapping under my nose snapped me out of my little staring contest with him.
"Welcome back to the land of the living," I turned to see Thalia looking impatient. "Come on, dinner's over." That's when I noticed that students are getting up from their table to go to their respective houses. When I looked back to where Draco was sitting, he was gone.
"Right," I said, pushing up my seat and left the Great Hall and to our house. This is going to be an interesting Friday, I thought, looking forward to teaching wizards a thing or two about fighting without their wands.
Well guys, here's chapter 11. Yay. In my opinion, this was more of a filler chapter than anything else because I have no clue as to how to integrate the characters back together to continue the story the way I wanted it to. And by far, this has been the most boring chapter that I've written in my opinion. I've actually written this back in July but I was trying to make better and less boring, which took a long time to do (even now, it's not.) Keyword: trying. Anyways, thank you for all of your patience.
I don't own Percy Jackson nor Harry Potter. No flamers please, just constructive criticism and/or reviews. If you have any ideas at all, I'm open to suggestions. Just PM me, and depending on how I want this to go on, I may (or may not) borrow/take ideas. P Ciao!
