Alrighty, now that we have just a little bit of background on the OC, we'll start with the story. This is going to be a SpockxOC story. For a better visual image, I imagine Marley, the OC, to look similar so Karen Gillian.
Chapter 1
A redhead at the height of 5'10, wearing black acid wash skinny jeans, black midcalf boots, and a white, of the shoulder, long sleeve lace top, with a white camisole underneath it, walked into Riverside Shipyard Bar in Iowa with a friend of hers. Her friend was dark skinned, dark straight hair pulled into a ponytail, and warm brown eyes. She was wearing a simple black dress and heels.
Marley Davidson and Nyota Uhura were recruited into Starfleet together, and by the same recruiter.
As the duo walks through the bar, they share hellos with various others, smiling and waving, a nod here an there until they reach the bar top.
"Hey," Nyota says addressing the bartender with a smile. "I'd like a Klavnian fire tea, uhh… three Budweiser classics, two Cardassian sunrises, and a…" she trails off.
"Try the Slusho, it's good," the bartender suggest. Nyota nods in agreement before looking at Marley, drawing the bartender's gaze to her. "Anything for you?"
"Three mudslides, Jack Daniels, green label, and classic coke, probably come back for me," Marley answers with a smile. The redhead a soft spot for chocolate, red velvet specifically.
"That's a lot of drink for just two girl," said a blonde man to their right.
"And a shot of Jack straight up for the both us," Nyota said.
"Make that three shot, on me."
"Her shots on her," Nyota told the bartender. "Thanks, but no thanks," she said the male.
"Do you at least want to know my name before you completely reject me?"
"Fine without it," Nyota remarked, rolling her eyes. Marley, cocking her head to the side curiously.
"You are fine without it. It's Jim, Jim Kirk. If you don't tell me your name, I'm gonna have to make one up," said Jim with a smirk.
"It's Uhura."
"Uhura, no way. That's the name I was going to make up for ya."
"I'm sure you were," Marley said with an eye roll. Nyota couldn't but smile at the Cerisian. She was so innocent, but sarcastic at the same time.
Jim decided to ignore the small remark and asked, "Uhura what?"
"Just Uhura."
"They don't have last names on your world?"
"Uhura is my last name," said Nyota.
"Then they don't have first names on your world?" Jim turned his eyes to Marley and said, "what about you Little Red?" Marley made a face at the nickname and went to giver her name when Nyota interrupted.
"No," looking at Marley, she continued, "We don't give our name out to strange men." Despite having only known each other for a handful of weeks, Nyota thought of the redhead as a sister she needed to protect. Jim looked between the two girls for a second as he stepped closer to them, then spoke.
"I feel like I should be offended."
"You probably should," Marley said with a one shoulder shrug.
"So, you're cadets?" Jim paused to think of something else. "What are your majors?"
"Battle Tactics," Marley said with another shrug. Jim raised an eyebrow in question at her.
"Xenolinguistics. I bet you have what that is," Nyota said.
"The study of alien languages, morphology, phonology, syntax. It means you've got a talented tongue."
"I'm impressed. For a moment there, I thought you were just a dumb hick who had sex with farm animals."
"Well, not only." Marley scrunched up her nose at the thought, as Nyota laughed.
"Why would you do that with animals? I know there is some approval of interspecies relations, but I think that crosses a line," Marley said, not realizing they were joking. Nyota smiled at innocent Cerisian, as Jim's eyes widened in realization. Nyota's actions since he first spoke to them all made sense. She was more or less protecting Marley. Before anything else could be said, a voice interrupted.
"This townie isn't bothering you ladies, is he?" The trio looked over spotting a man about Jim's height, broader, and with darker hair.
"Oh, beyond belief, but it's nothing I can't handle," Nyota responded.
"You could handle me, if that's an invitation," Jim said with wink. He glanced at Marley and smirked. "Teach Little Red a thing or two." Said girl had a look of confusion on her face, trying to figure out what he meant while Nyota glared at Jim.
"Hey, you better mind your manners!"
"Oh, relax cupcake, it was just a joke," Jim says as puts his arm around the man.
"Hey, farm boy, maybe you can't count, but there are four of us, and one of you." A fight breaks out, Nyota starts yelling for everybody to stop. Marley steps in front of a guy going for Jim from behind and punches him in the throat, causing the man to start choking. A look of surprise spreads across her face as well as Nyota's.
"Huh, that actually worked."
"You mean you just randomly punched someone not knowing if it would work or not!?" Nyota yelled at the redhead.
"I've never been in a fight before," Marley said with a shrug. Nyota rolled her eyes, grabbed the girl's hand and lead them out of the bar.
