Chapter 17

Kelly walks to where Sasha is stood eyeing Payson and Rigo.

"If looks could kill" she says.

"From what I hear some of yours do" replies Sasha.

"Oh well thanks, but seriously could you look more obvious at least hide your feelings better" says Kelly.

Sasha turns to look at her, "Kelly, will you stop meddling, I'm not a fan of boyfriends in general and I don't want the girls to get any encouragement" replies Sasha.

"Really, oh look there goes a flying pig" retorts Kelly.

"If all your going to do is talk about something you know nothing about then please leave me in peace" he snaps.

"I know what I'm talking about you're the stubborn bonehead, I mean I'd heard you Brits had a stiff upper lip or something but seriously this is ridiculous, deal with it, either resign yourself to the fact you can't have her and move on or tell her and see what happens, but really stop with this angry brooding it really isn't healthy" says Kelly before turning and walking off.

Sasha stares after her and he realises she's right, he needs to move on, Rigo treated Payson right, she was happy and she glowed when he was around her, he'd come to try and understand her world he couldn't ask for anything more than that for her, he needed to move on.

Yeah because he'd tried that with Summer and look how well that had turned out, and despite what he'd said at the TC when he'd kissed her he knew there wasn't a spark there and it wouldn't have been fair to lead her on, that and her personality really grated on him at times.

What was it with him in and blondes, well MJ hadn't been blonde but then that hadn't really done well either maybe he just didn't work with women.

As the day drew to a close the gymnasts filtered out leaving Kelly and Payson who had to dash outside to grab a couple of things leaving Sasha alone with Rigo.

"So Payson tells me you're trying to understand gymnastics better" says Sasha.

"Yeah I want to at least understand what she means when she talks as opposed to just nodding and having no idea what's going on with her and this matters to her so it matters to me, even if it is kind of hard to get my head around, but she's totally and completely worth it, I knew that from the second I met her, even if Lauren did assume it was her I was interested in, I tell you that girl is scary, but then again you know that" chuckles Rigo.

"Yes Lauren is quite something" agrees Sasha.

"But Payson loves her, I saw that when we went to find Dr Walker even if it was a great way for me and Payson to bond, and the way Payson was so hurt when Lauren got angry with her for telling McIntire about her heart problem, but they worked it out and now Lauren is taking the credit for our entire relationship which as I understand is quite normal" says Rigo.

"Like I say definitely something" repeats Sasha.

"I'm just glad to be back, hey since you've been Payson's coach for so long you know he pretty well right?" asks Rigo.

"I like to think so" replies Sasha wondering where this was going.

"Well her birthday is coming up and I want to get her something but she isn't really the kind of girl who wears lots of jewellery, or perfume, so I'm a bit stumped and Kelly well if I'm honest she kind of scares me a bit" admits Rigo.

"She scares lots of people, and as for Payson get her something personal, from the heart something that reminds you of a special moment" says Sasha.

"Thanks, I will I know just what to get her now" smiles Rigo.

"You really seem to love Payson which is good, but if you ever, ever hurt her in anyway, I will make it my personal mission in life to destroy you, understood?" asks Sasha with a smile.

Rigo pales and nods, "yes sir" he replies quickly.

"Good, just so we understand each other" smiles Sasha.

Just then the door opens and Payson and Kelly walk back in.

Rigo looks relieved and almost runs into Payson's arms.

"You set to go?" he asks.

"Sure, give me a second" she says.

"Great I'll wait in the car" he says and almost runs out of the gym.

Sasha watches him go with a satisfied smirk, he really shouldn't enjoy scaring people as much as he did, but it was fun, just like he had with Carter.

"Maria would like to stay late with tomorrow night, is that okay?" asks Payson.

"Of course, I trust you" he smiles.

"Okay, see you tomorrow Sasha" smiles Payson as she skips down the stairs and grabbing her bag she walks out of the gym.

Kelly narrows her eyes at him, "what now?" he asks exasperated.

"What did you say to Rigo?" she asks.

"We talked why does it matter what I said?" asks Sasha.

"Because I know the look of a guy running scared trust me, you said something that scared him, was it something on the lines of you hurt Payson I'll hurt you?" asks Kelly.

"I did exactly what I did with Carter, if you feel left out when you get a boyfriend you can bring him by and I'll scare him too" offers Sasha.

"Ha as I told Payson I'm more than scary enough, she's not your gymnast anymore so why are you still acting like you need to protect her?" asks Kelly.

"Just because she isn't my gymnast doesn't mean I stopped caring Kelly, having seen what arses some guys turn out to be I'm airing on the side of caution" he replies.

"Whatever" replies Kelly as she walks out.

A/N Hehe protective Sasha got to love him, so as I am being very horrible about the Payson/Rigo so as well as this I will also upload the next chapter which as promised will tide you over for Payson/Sasha love.
