Chapter 21
As he watches Payson leave he feels a tug in his heart.
Even after everything she done and accomplished she was still the same Payson, and he wouldn't change a thing about her, she was beautiful and she'd grown into an even more beautiful woman, in his eyes she was perfect inside and out.
And it was nice to know she still needed him, and he'd meant it he'd do anything he could to help her, even if it was just reassurance and comfort, she trusted him and out of all of them he knew that she was the one he had the strongest bond with, he always had and hopefully always would.
He walks up to his office and flicks open the box he had in his draw, nestled inside was a small necklace with a star on it.
He'd told Rigo to get her something from the heart and he'd done the same, she'd know what this meant.
He closes the lid and places the box on the card; he'd give it to her tomorrow.

Payson heads home, as she opens the door she hears voices.
"Rigo" calls Payson.
"In here" he calls.
She walks into the living room and sees Lauren sat on the couch next to Rigo.
"Hey" she smiles.
"Hey what are you doing here I thought you left?" asks Payson as she hugs her friend.
"I did but then I remembered it's my best friend's birthday tomorrow and I just couldn't miss that" smiles Lauren.
"Where are you staying, with your dad?" asks Payson.
"Well I was kind of hoping to crash here?" asks Lauren.
"Anytime" smiles Payson.
"Great" smiles Lauren.
They settle on the couch taking about this and that, they order in for pizza and pig out on that.
Eventually Payson heads off to bed leaving Rigo and Lauren talking in the living room.
As she gets up to turn the lights out she hears something that makes her heart stop.
"She cannot know okay, this needs to stay between us or it'll ruin it" says Rigo.
"Agreed, she needs to stay in the dark for now, don't worry I'm an excellent secret keeper, trust me, and she's at the gym all day tomorrow so we have the place to ourselves" smiles Lauren.
"Perfect" smiles Rigo.
Payson shuts the door and leans against it her heart pounding a mile a minute.
It didn't mean what she thought it did, she was being paranoid about this Rigo loved her he'd picked her over Lauren before and Lauren had Jake, but when had that ever stopped Lauren.
She crawls into bed trying to talk herself into the fact she'd misunderstood the conversation.
She eventually fell asleep but it certainly wasn't restful.
