GLaDOS POV:
I activate the assembly machines and they begin to assemble Blue and Orange, after the assembly machine finishes putting them together, I explain their mission
"Listen to me, the mission I am about to send you on is extremely important. If you fail this mission, we may lose everything" I explain, I then bring a computer monitor down and display Mitchell's face "This is Jason Mitchell, he was one of the test subjects you uncovered underground, recently, he somehow escaped from the test chambers and is now roaming freely through this facility, your job is to find him… and kill him" After I explain their mission to them, the floor opens up from underneath them and they fall down their tubes.
Jason Mitchell POV:
There has to be a way out of here. There has to be! If been wandering around this place for nearly an hour and I've found nothing! If I didn't know any better, I'd almost think I've been going in a circle. I'm starting to wonder why GLaDOS hasn't tried to stop me yet, I mean, I would have expected turrets, crushers and neurotoxin by now, maybe this is a trap. But it doesn't matter, I have to keep going. I eventually come across a room with a computer in it, that computer might have a map or something which might help me find a way out, I enter the room and start typing on the computer. The first thing I come across is the security cameras, I check them and I see all the other test subjects fighting for their lives in the test chambers, one test subject ends up walking in front of a turret and gets shot to death, another tries to get one of those cubes but ends up falling into the acid, GLaDOS is slaughtering these people! The next thing I come across are profiles, I see the files of all the other test subjects but then I come across something a bit different; a woman called Chell. Apparently, she was GLaDOS's first test subject and when she tried to incinerate Chell, she survived and ended up shutting GLaDOS down. She then went back into cryosleep for… I don't know, the file doesn't say before being woken up by a Personality Core called Wheatley who ended up reactivating GLaDOS and eventually took control of the facility and went mad with power. Chell and GLaDOS managed to disconnect him and GLaDOS released Chell to the surface.
Chell might be useful, if I can get to the surface and find Chell, she can come back down with me and help me shut of GLaDOS again and free the test subjects. I'm about to search for a map to an escape elevator but before I can; a red portal opens underneath me and I fall through it into another room where I see two robots, one looks like a turret with arms and legs and the other looks like a core with arms and legs and they both have a portal gun. The one that looks like a core picks up an actual turret with its portal gun and points it at me but just before it can fire, I jump back through the portal. I run down the platform but then a purple portal opens in front of me and a bomb flies out of it, but I manage to duck under it and open a yellow portal over the purple one, stopping the bombs. I continue across the platform until a laser nearly takes my head off, I duck underneath it and that it's coming from the circular robot that is using one of those laser redirecting cubes to aim the laser towards me. I open a portal behind the sphere robot and one next to me and sneak up on it, pulling the cube out of its hands with my portal gun and the robot runs away towards the turret shaped robot. I'm about to direct the laser towards them with the cube when something odd happens; the two robots hug… and they're shaking, almost as if they're scared. Did… did GLaDOS program these two robots so they can feel… emotions? If they do, then I just might be able to reason with them. I put down the cube which gets their attention.
"Um… hello… robots" I say. Ugh, this is so stupid, but if I convince these robots to help me, they might be able to guide me to an escape elevator. "Listen, my name is Jason and I'm in a situation here, I need to get out of this place. Can you two help me do that?" I ask them, they shake their hands with a frightened demeanour, obviously indicating that they can't "Why not?" I ask, they point towards a faraway security camera "GLaDOS? You're afraid of her?" I ask they nod their heads, which I interpret as yes. "Listen, you two don't have to beckon to her every will, you are living beings which can choose for yourself, and so, are you going to help GLaDOS or are you going to fight against her and help me escape?" I ask. The robots both do a thumbs up "Excellent, do you know a way to an escape elevator" I ask, the turret robot does a follow me gesture and the two run off and I follow.
I follow the two robots until we eventually arrive at an escape elevator. "Ha! Now I can get to the surface and find that Chell girl" I say as I start to inspect the elevator "There aren't any controls, do either of you know how to operate it?" I ask, they both look at each other and shrug "Oh, great. We came this far and now we can't even operate the elevator, what are we going to do now?!" I ask. Suddenly, the elevator door opens. "Did you do that?" The robots once again shrug "This is weird, think about it; I'm doing GLaDOS's tests when all of a sudden, I'm removed from the testing chambers and into outer facility, then when I finally find an escape elevator, it magically works. I think there might be a second AI in control of the facility without GLaDOS knowing, but if its helping me then I'm hardly going to complain" I say as I get into the elevator "Listen, I'm going to head to the surface and find Chell, then we'll come back down and the four of us will find out who's helping us through the facility, shut down GLaDOS and get the rest of the test subjects out" I say as the elevator goes up and the robots wave to me.
Once I get up there, I need to find Chell
