The Alien Symbiote Made Me Do It
Chapter 7: Our first date
Peter's POV
I stood in front of my full sized mirror that evening, checking to see if I looked alright. I was wearing a brand new pair of blue jeans that hugged around my rear in the right places and a formal, button-up white shirt. To add onto it, I sprayed a little bit of cologne I bought not too long ago and put a little gel in my hair to make my bangs curve around my face.
I knew I looked good, but would Eddie think so too? He said that he would pick me up for our first date at seven. Right now, it was 6:45 p.m. and yes, you can say I have a hoard of butterflies taking over my stomach right now! Funny, I dealt with some of the meanest, toughest crooks in the city and I was scared of a little date! Sure, me and Eddie were always 'bros' and we knew each other for a long time, but we were going out on our first date! My first date! What should I say? How should I act? Does Eddie just want me to act the same or be different? I wish I had answers!
:We sense a joyous emotion from you, but also a new one that we strongly dislike. What is this feeling?:
I sighed at the symbiote that was still on my calf. Yes, despite all my worries, the positive emotion that it sensed from me was excitement. Why wouldn't I be? One of my greatest dreams (dating Eddie) was coming true! I really hoped that it would stay quiet for the evening.
'I'm just a bit worried, okay? That's the emotion, and no, it's not a positive one. But you're going to have to live with it because I might be feeling that way for the rest of the night!'I said inwardly to it.
:We are confused. Why worried? We sensed the male that you are spending the evening with has very intense feelings for our host. We felt it from him in the peculiar lip contact you two were sharing.:
I felt myself turn red. A bit of happiness bubbled into my chest after it confirmed Eddie's feelings for me. Maybe I shouldn't be so nervous.
'That lip contact was called a kiss. It's what humans do when they love each other.' I explained.
:Interesting, you bipedal organics are very unique.:
I couldn't help but to smile.
'Thanks, but do me one favor, okay? Don't telepathically talk to me for the rest of my date. I would like to focus on Eddie, if that's okay?' I asked.
:Very well, we will remain silent for your time spending with the other male.:
Good. That's all I ask.
Eddie's POV
I took in one breath as I stood at Peter's doorstep. I did this before, loads of times. Hey, when you're popular and once the quarterback, you're bound to be on a lot of dates. But I had never felt more nervous than I did for this one. This time, I was deeply in love. I couldn't screw this up.
I knocked lightly on the door, folding my arms and looking around. I got a little dressed up for the night once I got home. I had to look good for my crush, didn't I? It was just a new and simple black, skin tight muscle shirt that hugged my bulky figure, nothing more. I hoped Pete would like it. We were going to Pablo's Place. It was in between casual and formal, a little pricey but not that much. And besides, Peter was definitely worth it. Plus with good food, great music and even a dance floor, that place was a hot spot for first dates!
The door opened to reveal Aunt May, smiling that kind smile of hers.
"Hello Eddie." She greeted as she allowed me in. I smiled back and walked in.
"Peter! Eddie's here!" she called up the stairs and then walked back into the kitchen.
For the record, I never saw anything more incredible in my life once I saw Peter as he walked down the stairs.
He was dressed in new clothes I hadn't seen him wore before. But good god, they looked good on him! And that cute blush on his face as always, it was all too much to bear! My eyes widened and my mouth hung open.
"You're gonna catch a fly like that." He smiled. I instantly snapped it shut and blushed, chuckling a bit.
"You look amazing!" I whisper. That blush of his got darker.
"Thanks, you look great too." He said shyly. I put his hands on his shoulders and leaned down to kiss those succulent lips of his again, but he stopped me, giving me a remorseful look.
"Sorry, we can't. I haven't told Aunt May yet." He whispered quietly looking towards the kitchen. Oh, I see. Aunt May only thought we were going out as 'bros' like we used to.
I felt hurt at that. I kinda hoped that Peter told her already. After all, I told my foster parents a while ago that I was gay and had a crush on him, and they were perfectly fine with it. Hell, my mom hugged me, smiled and said she just wanted me to be happy, and my dad, being the football father he is after adopting me, coached me into winning Peter's heart. But back then I told him that, one, I could handle it myself, and two, he probably won't feel the same. Well, I'm ecstatic to find out he does. (Thank you Gwen!) And they were too when I told them he did. They even teased me about having Peter as their ideal son-in-law!
I thought Peter would do the same and tell Aunt May by now, but I guess not. Once again, I knew my hurt was showing in my face but I tried to hide it.
"I'm sorry, bro. I haven't got around to telling her yet. I will, promise." Peter swore. I sighed, that helped a bit, and smiled at him.
"Well, we should get going." I said putting an arm around his shoulders and guiding him out.
"Bye Aunt May!" he called.
"Have a good time dear!" she called back.
Peter's POV
I hated seeing that heartbroken expression on Eddie's face. It was bad enough at the formal, now when we were dating? I knew Aunt May was understanding and loving, so why didn't I tell her yet? I should. I mean, it shouldn't be as bad as my other secret of being Spiderman! As soon as I get back home, I will.
Eddie led me to his bike. I blushed when I was reminded of the formal, when I hung onto his waist tightly and he laughed it off. I wondered if he enjoyed it too back then. He mounted on it and gestured me to get on, that look on his face.
"By the way, I insist you hang onto my waist again." He smirked. Well, that answers my question! I smile and nod as I hesitatingly got on. He handed me a helmet and started it up. This time, I wasn't so bashful and hung onto his waist welcomingly as we drove throughout the city. Wow, this really did feel like heaven! I wonder where we were going.
Eventually, he drove us to a restaurant I haven't been at before. It was called 'Pablo's Place'. I let my opinion be heard.
"I haven't heard of this place before." I said. Eddie took off his helmet and smiled at me.
"You haven't? Oh, you'll love it!" he guaranteed as I got off the bike. My stupid blush returned when I felt him wrap an arm around my shoulders and walked me to the entrance. I once again smiled, I could get used to this!
As soon as we walked in it was like a collage of bright colors and lights jumped and danced in front of my eyes! Wow! I looked around. This place was so cool! They even had a dance floor with a D.J. and everything! I heard Eddie laugh at my surprised expression.
"Told you, you would love it!" he said clamping a hand on my shoulder. The waiter showed us to our booth and gave Eddie and I our menus. I looked at the prices of these meals and winced. Man, they were so high! I can't believe Eddie took me to a place this expensive! I sighed.
"You didn't have to take me where the food is this pricey." I told him. He only smiled.
"It's no problem, really. This was my idea anyway." He waved it off. I smiled and nodded as I looked back down at the menu.
Eventually we ordered. I ordered the least expensive thing I could find, a cheeseburger and fries, and it still cost thirty bucks! (I could've gotten the same meal from a Burger joint for like ten bucks!) And Eddie ordered the biggest thing on the menu, a 32 ounce steak! As soon as the waiter took our menus I looked at him dumbfounded.
"What? Guy's gotta eat!" he shrugged and grinned. I couldn't help but to laugh.
Eddie's POV
Okay, so far so good. God he looked so adorable when he laughed! I knew the food would take a while so I sat back a bit, before the fast, upbeat song they were once playing turned into a slow and romantic one. The lights dimmed and couples were beginning to come from their tables and booths and start slow dancing. Some same sex couples weren't too shy and did so as well. A smirk came to my face. Maybe there's something else we can do while we wait on the food. I stood up from the booth and held out my hand to Peter.
"Come on." I said lovingly. He blushed and hesitatingly took it. Man, his hand was sweating so much!
"Uh, just so you know, I have two left feet when it comes to a slow song." He mumbled. I smiled and led him out to the dance floor.
"It's okay. I'll lead, you just follow." I whispered. I wrap my arms tightly around his waist while he did the same around my neck as we began to dance. He was trying to avoid my gaze for a while, stealing a few glances but turning away instantly afterwards. I laughed a bit.
"You don't have to be so shy around me, you know. We've known each other for how long?" I asked. He blushed and looked down.
"Sorry, I just…don't want to screw up or anything." He said. I cupped his jaw to make him look at me.
"Pete, we're still bros, just with special benefits. We already know we love each other. And nothing will change that, okay?" I asked. He slowly smiled.
Right then and there, we stopped slow dancing and just stared into each other's eyes for a long moment. Time seemed to freeze around me. I didn't even know I was leaning forward, as was he, until I felt a billion fireworks shoot off inside me when our lips touched again. I cupped the back of his head, while he wrapped his arms tighter around my neck and ran his fingers through my hair, and pulled him closer as the kiss got more passionate, but not too passionate since we were in public. And the best part? No one to interrupt us this time!
Finally, the sound of a new fast song coming up brought us out of it and we pulled back. We looked at each other wide-eyed; a dead silence came over us for a second, before we began laughing!
"I don't know what came over me!" he said.
"Me neither. But I liked it!" I said, being a bit playful and winking at him. He chuckled.
"I did too." He said. We danced to a few fast songs before our food finally arrived.
About an hour later I sat back in the booth and sighed in contentment, putting a hand to my full belly, ugh, I ate too much! I looked over at Peter to find him done with his meal as well. I paid the bill, left a tip, and held hands with Peter back to my motorcycle. I didn't think it would feel so right to hold hands with someone. We hopped back on my bike and cruised around the city for a bit, before we had to go back to his place sooner than I hoped. I walked him up to his front step, waiting for what he might say now.
Peter's POV
I had such a great time! Better than I ever dreamed! I really hope that this will happen again! I will die happy if it does! I looked up at him and smiled.
"So…does this mean we're…boyfriends now?" I asked lamely. He laughed softly and pulled me close.
"I'd really love that. But would you?" he asked. I nodded excitably and hugged him back.
"A million times yes!" I said a little too eagerly. He laughed again and held me closer, before dragging my head up into another heated kiss. This time, it felt so good I began to moan.
"Peter?" A voice interrupted us. My eyes snapped open and I pulled away to see Aunt May with the door opened looking at me with shock.
Okay, this was so not what I had in mind for when I told her I was gay!
I was baffled for words. How could I explain this? Where would I begin?
"Uh, Aunt May, there's something I've gotta….Me and Eddie are…" I tried to say, but she held up and hand and smiled warmly. She laughed a bit.
"I had a feeling something was going on between you two. Peter never dresses up or wears cologne for going out to dinner! Let alone with one of his friends!" she said to Eddie. Oh man, I could just die right now! But at least she's not angry or upset. She looks at me.
"Peter, are you happy with Eddie?" she asked me. I was a bit confused, but I nodded.
"Yes Aunt May. I love him, actually." I smiled warmly at him. He smiled back.
"Then that's all I ever want. It doesn't matter to me who you fall in love with, as long as they make you happy and loved." She says. God, I could just squeeze her to death in a hug right now! I knew she would understand! Then she gets all serious and points to Eddie.
"And you, young man, better treat my nephew right." She smirks. Eddie laughed.
"Will do, trust me." He promised. She grins.
"Okay, I'll give you two a few more minutes." She said as she closes the door. Eddie and I looked up at each other.
"That was easier than I thought!" I laughed.
"Told you!" Eddie smirked. He leans down and kisses me one more time.
"See you tomorrow at the lab?" he asked. I nodded.
"Goodnight." He said as he walked back towards his bike. I smile and turn towards my door and opened it.
"Pete?" he calls. I look back.
"I love you too." He smiles affectionately. I beamed and went inside. I leaned against the door for a bit, the smile not going away. For once in my life, I couldn't feel happier!
Eddie's POV
I never felt giddier! So much, I felt like doing back flips to my motorcycle and revved it up high. I sped down the road, building up enough speed to pop a wheelie! There are no words explaining how I felt right now!
"Woohoo! I'm in love!" I yell out into the night, not caring who would hear me. I wanted to whole world to know how happy I was!
