Oh my god! She finally uploaded the last chapter! I am so so so so sorry that it took me so long to write and upload this. Really, I am. I got caught up with senior year and trying to come up with something for the last chapter. It was either right something short and crappy or something long and not as crappy. I hope this makes up for the long wait. Here you go the last chapter of Love And War.
Raising The Flag
Five years have passed and everyone is graduating from school. Some things have changed over time. The girls haven't contacted each other in three years. They would email every few months, but never made any effort to meet up anywhere. Everyone's been busy with college and other work. All four girls are doing well with their lives and are getting ready to start the new chapter in their lives.
Hanna finished her education at a beauty school while taking a couple classes at a community college on the side. She's done with both of her schooling and graduated last week. Her boyfriend Caleb through her a small graduation party along with a few of their friends that they met in college. Caleb studied technology in college and graduated a week before Hanna.
After Caleb graduated, he moved back in with Hanna in her two bedroom apartment. The two have stuck together for a long time. They had a fall out during their long distance relationship, but they worked through it.
Emily also graduated after four years in college. She also worked on getting a spot on the U.S. women's swim team. Her girlfriend, Maya ended up going to business school and opened up a small coffee shop in town. They moved into a little one bedroom apartment about a mile away from where Emily was going to school.
Aria is finished up her last semester at college. After she graduated she got a job working as a photographer for a magazine company. Things have been difficult for her and Ezra as he was over sea's being in the air force. Aria has been worried about his safety. Once when Ezra was out on a mission, his plane got struck and landed on an island where he was stranded for five days. Aria freaked out when she couldn't get a hold of him. Thankfully Ezra was found by a sail boat. Ezra wasn't badly hurt, but he did have a broken rib and his left arm was broken,
That happened about a year ago. Now Ezra is living with Aria in Kalamazoo. When Aria graduated, took her out for a nice fancy dinner. He ended up proposing to her by using the old putting the ring on the bread stick bit. Of course Aria said yes and they plan to get married in the spring. Aria sent out wedding invitations to all of her old high school friends and her new friends. She hopes that this will help bring the gang back together.
Spencer has been going to UPenn and will be graduating tomorrow. She's done a lot of studying in the art of interior design. During the summer, when she wasn't living on campus, she would live with her boyfriend who, believe it or not, is still Toby. Yes, they've stuck together all of these years. Toby spent two years taking classes at Hollis then got a job working for a contractor. He's making a good amount of money. Enough for him to move out of the tiny loft above the brew and into a two-bedroom apartment in Philly.
Spencer and Toby have had a rough patch pretty much every year they were together, but just like always they got through it. They don't fight as much as they did back then, which they guess is a good thing.
Spencer's POV
Today is my college graduation and Toby says he has a big surprise planned for me. Over the past four years, Toby has taken a liking to videotaping and photographing. He says he likes to capture beautiful moments in his life. He used that excuse when I caught him having over a hundred pictures of me on his phone and half of them were of me sleeping. Now here I am standing in our kitchen trying to make breakfast for the two of us. I keep getting distracted by Toby. He's coming this way with his video camera.
"And here she is, Spencer Hastings my little graduate about to graduate from college."
Spencer smiled at him.
"Toby, will you stop videotaping everything I do?"
"Sorry, I can't help it the camera loves you."
"I think it's the camera man that loves me."
Toby smiles and moves the camera. "Yes, that is true. The cameraman loves you very much."
Spencer smiled and cupped his face with her hands then pressed a soft kiss on his lips. Toby smiled back at her when they pulled away. Some people find it hard to believe that Spencer and Toby stuck together for so long. When they told people about their history, they wondered how they made it. I guess true love really does conquer all. Toby shuts off his camera and sets it down on the counter.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
She took a deep breath and said, "relieved. After many stressful years, I can't believe I'm finally graduation."
"I'm so proud of you." He kisses her forehead. "And hey, after graduation I'm taking you out to celebrate."
"Aw, Toby, you don't have to do that. I'm okay with just staying in tonight if that's what you want to do."
"Well, that's not what I want to do. I want to go out and celebrate with my little graduate."
She smiled and said, "okay."
Toby wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her against him. They both smile at how close they are.
"How much time do we have until your graduation?" He asked.
"A few hours, why?"
He kissed her lips once and said, "I don't know, I thought we could get a little "us" time in. If you know what I mean."
He begins by kissing down her neck. Spencer tries hard to resist.
"Toby, I don't have time for this."
"Oh come on," he pleaded. "We'll make it a quick one. Maybe we can try to beat our fifteen-minute record."
He continued to kiss her neck to try turning her on. It is working, but she doesn't want him to know that. She has to start getting ready for her graduation.
"Toby," she moaned. "I-I have to take a shower, fix my hair and change my clothes."
"We can just shower together. We'll save water that way."
She giggled, "with the two of us in the shower we'll be using twice as much water."
Toby pulled back and looked her in the eyes.
"Are you telling me that you don't want to stand in the shower together with nothing but our bodies pressed together?"
Spencer bites down on her bottom lip.
"Actually the more I think about it the better the idea seems."
"Alright then, let's go."
Spencer giggled as he picked her up allowing her to wrap her legs around his waist and carried her off to the shower.
General POV
After their VERY steamy shower, the two got dressed for Spencer's graduation. Spencer got dressed in a simple plain black pencil skirt, a white blouse, a pair of silver strap high-heels, and a silver necklace with a crystal heart that Toby got her for her birthday one year. She put it on and slipped it around her neck. For her hair, she styled her brown locks in half curly/ half straight style. The top half of her hair was in thick curls and the bottom half was wavy and straight at the very bottom where the end of her hairline touched her back. For her makeup, she gave herself the smokey eye look and red lipstick. She applied a very light shade of blush on her cheekbones.
Toby settled on a button up, white shirt and a black suit jacket, not a tux, but it's a nice jacket. He put on a pair of black dress up pants that were the same shade of black as the jacket. He tightened his pants with a black belt and put on freshly polished, black shoes. He finished drying his hair with a towel, then combed his hair out evenly. After he did that, he used his comb and gel to style it. He kept the back of his hair smoothed down and the front layer sticking up. When he looked in the mirror, he noticed that he's getting a little stubble so, he decided to shave. After he shaved, he applied some aftershave and straightened out his jacket. Once he was satisfied with his appearance, he walked out into the living room to find Spencer waiting for him.
Spencer was facing the kitchen table trying to fix the strap on her purse when she heard him walk in. She turned around and her face brightened at the sight of him. Toby caught sight of her and smiled. She started walking towards him and he met her halfway.
"You clean up well," She said.
"After almost seven years, you should know that I clean up pretty nicely," he said.
She smiled, "yes, but it's not every day you dress like this."
"Well, I only dress up for special occasions."
"Oh," she chirped. "I must be pretty special then."
"Oh, you are alright," he stepped closer to her and wrapped an arm around her, pulling her to him, he whispered, "the reason I hardly ever dress up like this is because with the two of us around, we tend to lose our clothes and somehow always end up with nothing but skin and a thin sheet around us."
She blushed into his shoulder.
"Don't act you don't love it," she teased while pushing his chest. "And even sometimes we don't make it to the bedroom. I'd say last week on the kitchen table was the best we've had in months."
He kissed her roughly for a second and she kissed back. They stood there for a few minutes getting lost in each other again.
"Spence," Toby said in between kisses.
"Yeah?"
He kissed her once more then pulled away. He smiled and said, "if we don't stop this now, we'll end up having a repeat of last week and miss your graduation."
She sighed, "fine, let's go, but after," she tugged on his jacket. "I wouldn't mind coming back here and doing it all over the apartment."
"We're talking about cleaning right?" He teased.
"Oh," she looped her arms around his neck. "We'll keep it clean alright."
"Spence," his pants suddenly felt a little too tight.
"Okay," she pulled away. "I'm done teasing, let's go."
She strapped her purse over her shoulder. Toby held out his arm for her and she latched on. Together, they smiled and walked out to their car.
James Peet Galen... Heather Rene Galo... Joe Halloway... Matilda Green Haase... Johnathan Ben Habben... Rachel Drew Halbrock... Briana Z Handsworth... Spencer Corbin Haist... Maraya Jane Hasten... Spencer Jill Hastings.
Toby stood up from his seat and yelled like a wild animal. Spencer made her way across the stage to accept her degree. She looked out at Toby and caught him cheering and clapping like a wild animal. She smiled and hid her red cheeks with the sleeves of her graduation gown. Toby continued to clap as she exited the stage. The ceremony went on for another hour. Afterwards, Spencer searched the crowd for Toby.
"Hey, college grad! Show me your boobs!"
Spencer smirked and turned around at the voice behind her. Just like she thought. All of her friends were standing together smiling at her. Hanna was obviously the one who called for her attention. Her smirk turned into a wide smile as she made her way over to them.
"Hey, I can't believe you guys are here," she said while hugging them one by one. After she hugged them all, she took a step back. "I thought you guys couldn't come."
"Toby wanted us to surprise you. We sat in the way back hoping you wouldn't see us until after," Aria explained. "So, now we're here!"
"Surprise!" Caleb quietly exclaimed.
"Thank you guys so much for coming," she said.
"Like we would miss this," Emily said.
"You!" Spencer spun around and playfully hit Toby's chest. "This has been the surprise you've been keeping from me these last two weeks? Whenever I asked you what you had planned, you would try to seduce me so I would forget about it."
He smirked and wrapped an arm around her, "well, it worked, didn't it?"
"You're an idiot," she muttered.
"Aw, you two still fight like a married couple," Hanna said.
"We don't fight as much as we use to," Spencer said. "But when we do it's like wrestle mania."
"Yeah," Toby smirked. "When we're in bed, things can get real physical."
"Okay!" Hanna shouted. "That's enough information for now."
The two laughed and soon the others joined in. The group left the building and ended up partying at the beach house that Toby rented for them. There was food, games, music, dancing, lots of fun, and of course they played their favorite classic game, Truth or Dare. Just like the old days, they sat around in a circle and challenged each other with dare after dare and truth after truth.
"Did it ever occur to you all that we're a little too old for this game?" Spencer said while taking another sip of her vodka.
"Oh, you're just saying that because Aria just dared you to take off your bra in front of everyone," Hanna said.
Spencer finished taking off her bra from underneath her shirt then tossed it to Toby just like she was dared to do. Toby happily took it and held on to it. Spencer took yet another sip of her drink then smiled at Emily.
"Em, it's been awhile since you've had a dare," she said. "I dare you stuff your face with as many cherries as you can fit in your mouth."
"Oh boy," Emily sighed.
Aria handed her the bowl of cherries and everyone else sat back and watched her. Thirty, Emily managed to fit thirty cherries in her mouth. Maya handed her a napkin so she could spit out all those cherries. After she cleaned herself up, she looked at Caleb.
"Caleb," she started. "I dare you to give Hanna a hickey on her neck."
Caleb smiled and rubbed his hands together, "gladly."
Hanna moaned while Caleb kissed, shocked, and nibbled on her neck. It only took a couple minutes for him to leave a mark. Hanna was smiling from ear to ear when the pulled away. She kissed him once on the lips when he was done.
"Now," Caleb said to Toby. "I dare you take off Spencer's underwear without taking off her skirt."
Toby grinned and said, "one of my many talents."
Spencer smirked as Toby guided his hands underneath her black skirt and up her long, creamy legs. He let his fingers tease her a bit when he found her pant line. While looking her in the eye, he pulls her red lace panties down her legs. He then slips them off her feet and holds them up for everyone to see. Spencer continued to smirk at him and wiggled back to her Chris-crossed position. It's Toby's turn to ask truth or dare. His next target is Spencer. This will surely be a dare that she won't ever forget. He takes a moment to calm her nervous.
"Okay Spencer," Toby started. "Truth or dare."
"Dare," she said.
Toby scooted out so he was kneeling on both knees in front of her.
"I dare you to marry me," he said.
"What?" She didn't understand at first.
This time he held up a box with a three carrot diamond ring, with a gold band. Spencer felt her throat catch inside her throat. Toby took her hand into his trembling one.
He cleared his throat and said, "Spencer, I love you. So much. You have made my life a nightmare and a dream come true. Ever since I met you, you have taken hold of me and we went on a crazy roller coaster, me and you. To this day, we're still on that roller coaster, but that's okay because there's no one else in this world that I rather be on that roller coaster with. Like I said, I love you and I want to continue riding that roller coaster with you. So, will you marry me?"
The whole room was either in tears or close to tears. Spencer held a hand over her gaping mouth trying to hold back a sob that may or may not be working it's way out. Her brown eyes started watering and her hands were shaking. When the thought finally registered to her brain, she slowly at first started bobbing her head up and down. Then quickly as the tears started coming out.
"Yes," she gasped in a half laugh/ half sob. "Yes," she repeated in case it wasn't clear the first time.
Toby smiled and slid the ring on her finger. He kissed her ring finger then cupped her face for a long passionate kiss. Their friends started cheering and throwing popcorn and skittles at them. They didn't have anything else to through, so they just threw food items. But, Spencer and Toby didn't care. They just continued on making out until their friends got sick of watching them.
"Yay, now you'll be a real married couple arguing," Hanna said. Everyone laughed.
Spencer gasped as Toby pushed them through the door of their apartment. She kicked the door shut behind them with her foot as Toby captured her lips with his. Once the door was shut, he shoved her back against it and started kissing her more roughly. She lifted her arms above her head and allowed him to remove her blouse and throw it somewhere in the room. Spencer jumped up and wrapped her legs around his waist and arms around his neck. Toby moves his kisses and nibbles down the right side of her neck. She tilts her head to the left and moans while he worked his magic. They've been doing this for so long they're practical experts.
They continued their little love fest in the bedroom. Since Spencer already had her bra and panties off from the party early that evening, all Toby had left to take off her were her shoes. His shirt was ripped off sometime during their trip back to the bedroom. His jeans laid on the floor and his boxers came flying across the room, landing on the dresser top. They barely managed to get the sheet wrapped around them before they started getting really heated.
Toby is above her making slow, hard thrusts. His lips traveled all over her body from her lips to her neck, down the curve of her breasts, all the way down to the mid section of her stomach. Pretty much anywhere that he could reach while still managing to stay inside her. Half way through, Spencer flipped them over, so she was straddling him and started planting kisses down his body. Toby's mouth gaped open as she pressed open mouth kisses all the way down to his abdomen. Grabbing her hips, he flips them back over. Spencer lifts her arms up above her head and grips the pillows as he goes harder and slightly faster. Her mouth hangs open and her eyes are halfway shut. He returns to pleasuring her body by open mouth kisses.
Missing the feel of his lips, she grips at the back of his head, getting her fingers tangled up in his hair and pulls his head up to meet her lips. He slips his tongue in her mouth before covering her lips with his. They kiss like that for awhile. One of Spencer's hands was gripping on his arm and the other was running up the back of his neck and landed on her pillow. Toby ran his left hand up to her free hand and laced their fingers together as he finished her off.
Afterwards, they laid snuggled up together with Spencer's head on Toby's chest and his arm wrapped around her body. He had one hand running through her now loose curls. She pressed a short kiss upon his chest and laced her hand with his. Toby looked at her and noticed she was looking at the ring on her finger.
"Are you having second thoughts?" He asked.
"No," she shook her head. "I'm just admiring my ring, that's all."
"Look, Spencer, I get it if you only said yes because we had an audience."
She playfully slapped his chest and said, "shut up." She smiled at him, "I'm happy to be engaged to you. Honestly, I've been waiting you to ask me for awhile now. I'm too excited for words to tell."
"Oh, I think you've shown me just how excited you are just seconds ago," he smirked.
She giggled and pressed a chaste kiss on his lips. She re-adjusted herself in his arms and his arm tightened around her waist.
"Are you having second thoughts?" she asked after awhile.
"No," he kissed her. "Not at all."
"Good, because I'd kick your ass."
He chuckled into her hair.
"I love you," he said.
She looked at him, "I love you too."
6 Months later
There clawed in her big, white dress and sequin, white gloves, a bouquet of flowers between her gloved hands, Spencer slowly made her way down the aisle. Since her dad couldn't make it, her brother Jason, offered to walk her down. Hanna, Emily, and Aria stood up front holding bouquets similar to the one Spencer was holding. They were clawed in their lilac bridesmaid dresses. The front part of their dresses stopped about mid-thigh, but the back half of their dressed went down passed the knees. A cute little ribbon is wrapped above the waist of the dress. Aria is Spencer's maid of honor, so her dress is a little different. The front and back of her dress meet at her knees, then the back of her dress flows down to her ankles. Each of the girls have a pair of high-heels that are the same color as the dresses.
Spencer's brown hair is styled in really thick curls. Her hair is actually divided into parts. Part of her hair is in real thick curls, another part is in skinny, but thick curls and another part of her hair is in loose fitting curls. Then, all of her hair is clipped together and hanging over her left shoulder. For her makeup, she has on mascara, eyeliner and gray eye shadow to make her eyes pop out. Her lips are covered in a light shade of glossy pink. Her nails are even painted sapphire.
Toby stood up at the altar dressed in a very nice looking tux. His hair is combed out nicely and Isn't sticking up like it normally is. Instead, it's combed back. Caleb, his best man stood beside him in his tux. Next, stood Ezra then, an old friend of Toby's that he met at work and seemed to get along really well with. Toby stood with his hands folded up in front of him watching Spencer walk down the aisle. Her brown eyes were gleaming brighter than ever. Toby couldn't catch his breath as she came within a foot of him. Jason removed Spencer from his arm and allowed Toby to take her. Spencer accepted Toby's hand and he helped her step up. The wedding ceremony was nice. They shared their vows and said their I do's. As expected, they went in for the kiss before the preacher could finish the famous line "you may kiss the bride."
Two Years Later
"Hey!" Spencer yelled.
Spencer and Toby were out at dinner tonight. Their night started out nicely until a fight broke out. They argued over who would be paying. Toby said he would, but Spencer argued that he always paid, so she would. Then it all went downhill from there. They bickered the whole way home and through the front door of their two-story, light gray house. Spencer was in the middle of saying something when Toby got out of the car and stormed into their house. Spencer not far behind him.
"This conversation Isn't over!" She argued.
"It is over Spencer!" He shouted back.
"You should've let me pay tonight."
"The man should be the one to pay for dinner!"
"And just what is so wrong of a girl paying every once in awhile?"
"Like I said, It's the manly thing to do."
"A women can pay for dinner too sometimes!" She argued. "It's part of the split agreement in a marriage. We both pay the bills, we both earn money, we both cook and clean, and we both pay for stuff including when we go out."
"Wish I would've known that before getting married," he scuffled.
Spencer flinched.
"Ar...are you saying that you regret marrying me?"
He turned to look at her for the first time that night. His face immediately softened. He walked over to her and enveloped her into his arms.
"No," he said calmly. "God, no. I loved that I married you. I-I love you."
She tried putting some distance between them, but he still held her.
"Then why did you say that?" She whimpered. Her eyes glistening in the light from her tears.
"I-I don't know," he sighed. "I didn't mean it, I was just heated up at the moment. I'm sorry."
She broke free from him and hugged her body then turned away from him.
"Maybe being married Isn't for us."
"No, baby," he turned her back around and whips her tears away. "It is for us. I know we have problems every couple does, but we can work them out. I love you, Spencer, and I want to stay with you. I'm really sorry. I love you." He kissed her cheek.
"I love you too," she whispered and leaned her forehead on his chest. "I'm sorry too."
He shook his head, "no, you have nothing to be sorry for. You're right, it's nice when the women want to pay every once in awhile."
She smiled, "boy, do I love it when you tell me I'm right."
He smiled and kissed her forehead.
"All is forgiven?"
She nodded, "all is forgiven."
"Good," he kissed her. "Now, let's go to bed."
She yawned, "you read my mind."
4 Months later
Spencer stood in the bathroom with her pregnancy test that had a little pink plus sign glowing on it. She set that down and held up the two other tests she used just to make sure. She grinned. Today is fathers day and what better present for Toby then this right here? The door to their house opened and closed. That meant Toby's back from the store. This morning Spencer woke up feeling nauseous and asked Toby to get her some stuff from the store. For the past two days, Spencer was feeling awful, so the other night she went to the store and picked up a few tests. Spencer walked out of the bathroom and found him already starting to unpack the groceries.
"Hey," she greeted him with a kiss.
"Hi," He smiled.
Spencer held up a little blue bag that she stuck the test in. She waved it around in front of his face.
"I got something for you."
His smile widens as he takes the bag from her.
"Is it that new sexy bra with the matching panties that we saw online?" He wondered.
"Nope," she said popping the P. "Even better."
Toby even more curious, he opened the bag and found a thick white tube with a pink plus sign. He took it out of the bag and held it up.
"Happy father's day!" She beamed.
He smiled and said, "wait, are you saying what I think you're saying?"
She nodded.
"Alright, we're finally getting a dog!" He cheered.
"Toby," she swats at his chest.
"I'm kidding," he chuckled while wrapping her up. "We're having a baby."
"Well, took you long enough," she teased.
"I love you," he laughed then ran four fingers over her belly and said, "and I love you too."
7 Years Later
"Drew Phillip Cavanaugh!" Spencer called up the stairs.
The sound of loud footsteps thumped down the stairs. A little boy with wavy, honey colored hair, toned skin like his fathers, and blue eyes ran into the kitchen. He's wearing blue jean shorts, a gray t-shirt with a picture of Lighting on it, and black and white tied up shoes. His white socks are pulled up just below his knees. He stands before his mother and the vase all shattered across the tile floor. Spencer stands there with her hands on her hips and taps her left foot on the floor. The six-year-old not being able to look her in the eye looks down at his shirt that's in his hands instead.
"Well," Spencer said. "Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
"I sorry mommy," the little boy said not being able to look at his mommy.
Spencer sighed and knelt down in front of him. She gently turned him to face her.
"What happened?" She asked.
"I-I was playing with my soccer ball and I accidently kicked it at the vase."
"Now, you know not to play soccer in the house."
Drew looks up at her with tears in his blue eyes, "I'm sorry, mommy, it was an accident. I'll never do it again."
Spencer smiled sadly at him. Drew looks so much like his father. He even has the same cry face as his fathers. The way the corners of his eyes get a little red and his blue eyes glisten with tears. Spencer doesn't know why, but he always seemed to look like a sad puppy when he cries.
"I forgive you," she wraps the little boy up in her arms. "But, you know now not to play soccer in the house, right?"
"Right," the little boy nodded.
"Can you do me a favor and bring mommy the broom and dust pan? Afterwards you, me, your sister, and your father can go out for ice cream."
"Okay!"
And just like that, Drew was off on his feet. A few seconds later their little three-year-old came down the stairs rubbing her eyes. The little girls light brown hair was messed up and her pink summer dress was ruffled. The little girl yawns as she made her way into the kitchen.
"Mawme," the little girl said.
Spencer knelt down to catch her in her arms. She picks her up and holds her on her hip.
"What's up sleepy head?"
"Where daddy?"
"Daddy's at work, but he'll be home soon."
"I'm hungry," she whined.
"When your daddy gets home, we'll go get ice cream. You like ice cream?"
The little girl nodded.
"What's your favorite flavor?" Spencer asked.
"I like starberry."
Spencer laughed, "you mean strawberry." She corrected.
"That's what I said, starberry."
Spencer laughed and set the little girl down. As soon as she was on her feet, she grabbed her hand and lead her back upstairs.
"Let's get you cleaned up," Spencer said while setting her on the bathroom counter.
Spencer wiped the dried up slobber on the corner of her mouth, then brushed her hair. She then took her hair and styled it in a fish braid. After she got done doing that, she kissed the little girl's forehead then set her back down on the ground. The little girl looks up with her coffee brown eyes. The front door from downstairs opened and closed. The little girl jumps up and runs out of the room. Her brother running down the stairs behind her.
"Daddy!"
The little girl runs up to her daddy. Toby smiled when he saw his two kids coming at him. He knelt down on the carpet floor and held out his arms for his two kids.
"Gracie," Toby beamed.
Gracie fell into her daddy's left arm and Drew in the other.
"Drewster," Toby kissed both of their heads.
"Mommy said we can get ice cream," Gracie said. "Are you coming too, daddy?"
"Are you kidding? Like I'd miss a chance to spend time with my two rugrats," he said while roughing up their hair.
"Get your shoes on Drew, so we can go," Spencer called out from over their shoulder.
The two kids ran off to finish getting ready. Toby stood up and walked over to his wife. He wrapped an arm around her and pulled her against his hip.
"Hello, beautiful," he kissed her.
"Hi," she smiled. "Good day at work?"
"Yeah," he pulled away and started heading towards their bedroom to put his tool belt in the closet. "My team just got signed on for a new project, so I should be bringing in some extra cash these next few weeks."
"That's great," Spencer said.
"I have more good news," he said.
She leaned against the door frame of their bedroom.
"What?"
"The house my team was hired to work on need an interior designer and I thought maybe you would like to help them out, so I gave them your number so, they should be calling anytime soon."
She smiled, "oh my gosh, really?"
"Yeah."
"Thank you," she walked over to him and hugged him. "I love you."
"I love you too," he smiled then kissed her.
Their romantic moment was interrupted by hushed giggling coming from the doorway. Toby pulled his lips away from Spencer's and kept his hands on her hips. Spencer turned around and caught their two little rascals standing together by the door. Drew and Gracie stood there with wide grins on their faces.
"Ew you guys were kissing," Drew sneered.
"You may think it's gross now buddy," Toby said. "But when you get older you won't think it's so gross."
The little boy shook his head so fast the hairs on his head ruffled back and forth.
"Never," the little boy promised.
"Mawmy I want starberry ice cream," Gracie whined.
"Okay," Spencer nodded. "Let's go."
The family of four left the house and drove to the ice cream shop down the street. They each got an ice cream cone to go and hung out at the park. Gracie got her strawberry ice cream, Drew got double dipped chocolate ice cream, Toby got a swirl cone, and Spencer got the mint chocolate chip.
"Mammy look!"
Gracie looked up at her mother and Spencer and Toby chuckled. Their daughter had strawberry ice cream smeared all over her face. Toby took a napkin and wiped the ice cream off the little girls face. Gracie giggled and wiggled under her daddy's touch.
"Mommy I'm done with my ice cream," Drew said. "Can I go play now?"
"Yes," Spencer nodded. "Watch out for your sister, please."
"Okay."
Drew took Gracie's hand and together they ran towards the playground. Spencer watched her two kids play and sighed. Toby wrapped his arm around his wife's shoulder.
"Did you tell them yet?" He asked.
She sighed and said, "no."
"Spencer, when are you going to tell them?"
"I don't know. What if they don't like what we have to tell them."
"The kids will be fine. Remember the last time we told Drew?"
"Yes, he wasn't too happy at first."
"Yeah, but look at him now."
They look up and see Drew playing nicely with his sister. Right now, Gracie is going down the slide and Drew is watching her closely to make sure she doesn't fall. Drew is a lot like his father. He likes to build things and he has the same protective nature Toby has. Drew is a little like his mother too. He's the top student in his 1st-grade class and is good at making friends. Gracie is like her mother with her need to do things on her own. She likes to be independent and her parents try to allow her to have as much independence until they feel the need to give her a helping hand. Spencer smiled at the sight of her kids.
"Okay," she agreed. "We can tell them."
"Drew, Gracie, come over here for a minute, please," Toby called out.
Drew took his sister's hand and lead her over to them. They stopped in front of them at the bench.
"What is it, daddy?" Drew asked.
Toby rubbed a hand up and down Spencer's arm and said, "your mother and I have some news to tell you."
Drew looked at Spencer, "what, mommy?"
Spencer smiled and said, "I'm going to have a baby."
"A baby!" Drew smiled.
"What does that mean?" Gracie asked.
"It means that a new member will be added to the family," Toby said.
"A new member like a puppy?" The little girl asked.
"No," Drew interjected, "A baby is another human being. We're going to have a little sister or brother."
Gracie clapped her hands together and jumped up and down, "you mean I'm going to be a big sibling like Drew!"
"That's right," Spencer smiled.
"Yay! I can't wait to get our new sister!"
"It could be a boy," Drew argued. "I want a brother. Mommie can we get a brother instead."
Spencer laughed, "well that's up to your father and we won't know if the baby is a girl or boy for a while."
"Daddy get a sister," Gracie said.
Toby laughed and said, "I'll try my best."
"Do you guys have any questions?" Spencer asked.
"Where do babies come from?" Gracie asked.
The End. Again, sorry for the long wait. This is THE LAST chapter. There's no more after this. Keep a look out for new stories over the summer and thanks for reading. (:
