"What the frick frack patty whack give a dog a bone?" he wondered.
"Uh? Nii-chan, daijoubu desu ka?" she asked, giving him a concerned look.
"I'm okay, bun-bun. Just a bit confused," he answered.
"Oh, okay, Poppy," she replied, reverting back to English.
He reread the email before noticing- it was a code. After translating it with what he thought was rather impressive speed, he announced, "Hot dang. This is… the most pathetic code I've ever seen."
"Code?" she asked. "What code?"
"Dani sent us a poorly encrypted message."
"What does it say?"
"'Akatsuki,' or Aka tsuki, I'm not sure, but if it were the second one it wouldn't be right since the proper form would be 'akai tsuki'-"
"Poppy?" she interrupted.
"Right. Okay. Sorry. 'Akatsuki real, play dumb.'"
"What does that mean?"
"Not sure. Judging from the message I can assume that this 'Akatsuki' is something we think may be fake-"
"It's a criminal organ- ora… group. Of people. Uh… like a gang?"
"Organization?"
"Yes, that one."
"So they're being held captive by a mafia? A Japanese mafia, by the sound of their name. 'Daybreak' is kind of a lame name, though."
"Well, they're a fictional or-gan-i-za-tion. From Naruto."
"Oh, that Akatsuki. I almost forgot. I haven't seen that anime in a while."
"Yeah."
"So, what, they're caught in a fanfiction?"
"It seems so, Nii-chan."
"..."
"..."
"... Seems kinda serious."
"Un."
"Seems kinda dangerous, too."
"Yes."
"Like Dani and Savvy are in a hostage situation."
"Yes."
"... Wanna still go on the trip?"
"Oh, heavens yes."
Poptart laughed and closed his laptop.
"Better get packing, then, Naiyomi. We're gonna go have us a crackfic."
A/N: Haha, yeah, sorry about dropping off the face of the planet. And for crushing your hopes and dreams, for all of you hoping this was an update. This isn't even a proper chapter. Also, in case you haven't noticed, this is now officially a crackfic. HISBI! and For the Benefit of the World are my only serious ones, besides the ones I have one Quotev that I haven't updated in nearly a year and a half. *coughs* So, um, yeah. Poptart and Naiyomi's first appearance and not even in a proper chapter. This is all still canon, though. I'm just here to break the news to followers of this story that, yes, this is going on a hiatus. I am going to finish this story some day- just not today. Again, my apologies.
