Hey there! Sorry this took so long; Some stuff went down. But here's the next chapter. Hope you enjoy it.
Taichi
Yamato's movie night got cancelled. Takeru's sick. He's pretty upset about it. He's sitting on the couch, small pout on his face, eyebrows furrowed.
"You know," I say, getting brave and sliding closer to him. He turns to look at me, eyebrow raised. "We could go."
"Could we?" He asks. There's a hidden question in it, and I'm surprised I caught it.
"Yea! I think it'd be fun." I tell him. He thinks about this for a minute, then smiles.
"Okay, if you want." He says. I open my mouth to respond with something cheesy like "It's a date," but Natsuko walks into the room then. I close my mouth.
"I'm sorry Yamato." She says. She doesn't look very happy about it, either.
"It's okay, mom. Me and Taichi are going to go instead."
"Like..a date?" She asks. Yamato's eyes go wide, and he looks over at me. I shrug.
"Why not?" I ask. Yamato seems unsure about the statement, but doesn't say anything. His mom seems more excited then he is. That's not very good. Yamato rises.
"I have to get ready." He tells us, before heading towards his bedroom.
"You look fine." I say.
"Absolutely gorgeous." His mother adds. Yamato ignores us both. I watch him disappear. He has a nice ass. And then I groan out loud as I realize what I've just thought. It is true though.
"Tai," Natsuko says. I jump, I forgot she was there. "you better not hurt him again." She threatens.
"I have no intentions of hurting Yamato." I tell her firmly, without looking at her. There's no answer, and I'm too scared to see if she's left, so I just stare at Yamato's closed bedroom door. Twenty minutes later, Yamato appears. He does look better, although I can't tell you what exactly it was he did to make himself look different, besides change his clothes. Natsuko walks towards him, and straightens out his clothes. He watches me over her shoulder, and winks when he notices he has my attention. I look away, blushing.
"I don't understand how you go outside all.." Natsuko is stilling talking under her breathe to Yamato, and I can't hear anymore then that.
"Hey, mom. I'm sixteen. I'm capable of getting myself ready to go out, thank you." Yamato says, pushing her hands away gently. "Besides, shouldn't you be getting back to Takeru?"
"Oh! Yes! Do you guys want a ride to the theater?"
"That'd be lovely, mom." Yamato says. I laugh at his word choice. He grins at me, before heading towards the door. I follow him. I slide my shoes on, then follow Yamato out the door. It must be weird to be left alone all the time after living with someone like Natsuko. Yamato sits in the back with me, instead of up front with his mom. I don't mind. The music's on, but Yamato stares out the window. He's quiet the entire time. I wonder what he's upset about..When we finally get to the theater, Yamato's mom passes him a debit card, or credit card. He thanks her for the ride, takes the card and climbs out, me a step behind. He doesn't look back as we enter.
"So.." I mutter, curious about the card. Yamato shows it to me, and I can clearly see his name on it. It's a bank card.
"What kinda movie do you want to see?" He asks, scanning the movies playing. I shrug.
"That's helpful." He tells me, slightly annoyed. I scan the movies, too.
"What about that scary one. It starts in ten minutes." I say. Yamato shrugs.
"Sure." He says, heading towards the counter. He pays, and I follow quietly. I hadn't even thought about money when I had agreed to go. I feel bad now. And I certainly noticed the strange look the cashier gave us.
"Do you want food?" Yamato asks, breaking into my scanning other peoples faces, trying to see what they see when they look at us.
"Uhm." I say. I do. I want popcorn so bad, but I can't..
"That was a silly question, wasn't?" He asks, more to himself then me. I chew on my lip. Is he mad? He looks back at me, and grins. It makes my heart leap. I grin back. I follow the blonde over to the little food counter, and he gets a whole bunch of stuff. Popcorn for me, nachos for himself, which he promises to share, and lots and lots of candy. The price makes me gasp aloud. Yamato just laughs, and uses his card, again.
"Bank of Yamato," He tells me with a smile. I smile back, but I don't feel like smiling. I help Yamato carry everything, but when we get near the bathroom, I suddenly have to go very badly.
"I have to use the bathroom." I tell the blonde. Yamato nods, and we throw the candy on a nearby table. Yamato sits, and I run back to the bathroom. When I leave the bathroom, a girl has taken my spot next to the blonde. A pout forms before I can stop it, and a pang of jealousy shoots through me when Yamato grins at her, and shakes his head. I steady my breathing, and walk towards them slowly.
"That's an awful lot of candy for just one person. Are you here with your girlfriend?" She asks. Yamato shakes his head again.
"Even better. I'm here with my boyfriend." Yamato grins, his eyes jumping to me, which causes me to blush. So he did notice me. Stupid Yamato. The girl, whose eyes have gone wide and round turns to look at me, too. She smiles.
"I see." She says. "Well, enjoy your movie." She says, only directing her words at Yamato. She gives me a glare as she rises. Yamato laughs as she walks away.
"I hate girls." He mutters under his breathe. I don't think I was supposed to hear it, so I don't say anything. Yamato pushes my candy back towards me, and we head to our screen.
Yamato
Yes, I was terribly upset my brother got sick before movie night. I miss him. I don't mind going with Taichi though. Date or not, which technically, I don't think it is, but whatever. It doesn't matter. I still get my movie, and I get to spend time with Taichi. It's a win-win situation for me. Even if we're going to watch a scary movie. I wouldn't say they scare me. Actually, the opposite, most of them bore me. Most movies bore me, if I'm honest. I don't have a long enough attention span to understand the entire movie. I zone out, and wonder what would happen if this person and that person did that. And then I lose track of the story line. Then again, most scary movies now a days are sex, tits, naked chicks, and lots of blood. And the scary bad guy that never runs but can always fucking walk faster then you. Because that shit is certainly possible! Not. Right, right, I'm supposed to be happy. Sugar highs and Taichi. I glance over at the brunette at my side. His cheeks still hold a tint of pink from when he had heard me refer to him as my boyfriend, and as I realize he never denied it, my heart flutters.
"Where should we sit?" He asks, scanning the crowd of people. I shrug.
"Honestly, Tai, I hardly ever watch the whole movie. I get distracted."
"Well, I'm going to quiz you, so don't get distracted. Plus, I need you to insist it's not real, and point out all the stupid mistakes like you used to." Did I use to do that? I think I did. I know I did it for someone.
"Yea, alright. I'll try." I promise. Taichi's eyes scan me, but he looks away quickly. Then he points to some seats somewhere in the middle of the room. "Okay, sure." I say. He leads the way.
We sit down, and Taichi stares at the candy in his hand then dumps it in my lap.
"I didn't buy it for me, Taichi. Look at my skin, do you really think I eat candy?"
"You didn't buy all of this for me, did you?" He sounds offended.
"No, not all of it. Don't be greedy." I say, winking at him. He blushes and looks away. I laugh, then the lights go dim to the start of the movie. I lower myself in my chair, and end up eating whatever it was my hands touch first. Skittles. I'm not even paying attention to the movie, it's just colors and sounds, and then Taichi jumps.
"Oh, God!" He whisper shouts, bumping into me. His popcorn dumps onto me. I frown.
"What happened? I was looking at my nachos." I whisper to him. Which is obviously a lie, but hey, he's not getting mad at me.
"This guy just jumped out from behind something." Taichi whines.
"Oh." I say. There's no way to inform him that can't happen, because it does happen. All the time. Although normally the person doesn't have intentions of killing you, but whatever. A few minutes later, something else scary happens, apparently.
"Yama!" Taichi squeaks. I glance over at him. I can't help it, I laugh. He glares at me, but then smiles.
"Here," I say, offering him my hand. He takes it, and squeezes it tightly, which I return.
An hour later, we're standing outside, waiting for my dad.
"So," Taichi says quietly, immediately receiving my whole attention. "I don't think we should go to any more scary movies." He tells me. I laugh.
"Sure, Tai, whatever you want." I tell him. Taichi is standing unusually close, his fingers touch mine when his hand moves. I wonder if it was done on purpose. And then his fingers lace through mine. I look up and find the girl that had been trying to flirt with me earlier looking at us. I smile.
"Jealous, Taichi?" I ask. He smacks my leg with our joined hands.
"Yes," He admits, though.
"Don't be." I tell him. He glances at me, confusion evident in his features.
"I did call you my boyfriend." I point out. He blushes. "And you didn't deny it." I add.
Taichi's eyes go wide, and his mouth opens. And then he closes it, and says nothing, looking away from me. I can tell he's blushing. When my father shows up a few minutes later, I climb into the car with a feeling of satisfaction.
