Have now heard back from ReeseHolden, the author of Little moments, so I'm posting Fire meet Gasoline: Our life as we know it, within the next few weeks, I wanna get as many chapters out of it as I can before posting it.. Now, on with the story.
September 14th 2011.
It's the day after when the wedding between Eric Forrester Jr and Lannie Jaks was supposed to happen, due to things happening in their life though, they had decided to postpone their wedding. Lannie walks out of the shower to find her fiance sitting on a chair in the nursery holding a stuffed lion crying his eyes out.
"Hey honey, what's wrong?" Rick looks up, has a hick up and then lays it all on the line.
"I just can't believe someone would do such a thing, I mean, cutting holes in the wires that transports break fluids to stop the car, meaning the people in the car could end up dead, and what's worse, it could kill people in other cars too, what would've happened had Layla been driving in the city and not on the freeway? On the free way she could have just kept going until she ran out of fuel and then hoped she'd hit a hill or something to stop it, but right in the middle of the city it would've been totally impossible to stop the car had she'd come to a crossing, she could have been hit herself or someone else and caused a car crash involving multiple cars. I could have lost you Lannie and I don't think I could have survived that! We were lucky that you only had a concussion and a broken arm." Rick then remembers something.
"So I hear you're in need of a ultrasound so should we take a look at that little one inside you, check so that everything is okey?" Both of the parents to be nodded their heads and the machine was rolled up along side of the bed. "Now, you've probably done this before so you know it's gonna be cold" He then put some gel on Lannies belly and put the wand against her skin and started to search for a heartbeat, when he couldn't find one, both Rick and Lannie started getting a little bit nervous.
A minute or so later there was a noise that filled their hearts with joy. Thump, thump, thump. "Well, we have a heartbeat so I'd say that baby is a survivor, do you want to know the sex now? Or do you still want to wait till the baby is born?" Rick and Lannie looked at each other and responded in unison. "We want to know." With Rick continuing. "To pick the perfect name for our baby is now really important."
"Lannie, we could have lost the baby because of that jackass. We could have lost our baby girl." Lannie walks over from the doorway and takes the stuffed animal which she now sees is a fox and then sits down on Ricks lap. "Yes, but we didn't loose her and we gained a friend from the entire experience. It all worked out for the best, both Carole and Christian is going to be spending time in prison and they won't be bothering any of us from this moment on." As she's talking she's stroking his back with one hand and her bump with the other one. "Now, I need you to help me get my pants on, and maybe a pair of socks. Oh, and could you please help me get up from here."
Lannie was such a petite girl that the bump, even at 7½ months was huge and she wasn't comfortable anywhere, she had started turning down her usual ballet flats in favor of flip flops about a month ago and it all went down hill from there, she couldn't sit down on their couch unless someone held against her going down or she'd have painful bursts down her back into her pelvis, the same with the bed. This pregnancy wasn't really treating Lannie as good as Abby's had Abby and it was making Lannie feel a little depressed. Just 1½ month left and then it would be over and they couldn't wait.
Suddenly in the middle of Rick putting Lannies socks on, there's a knock on the door and when he opens it to see a gorgeous girl about to knock on the door again.
"Hi Layla! How's it going?" Rick goes to kiss Layla on the cheek and as Layla is about to answer someone decides to make their presence known.
"Hey Layla! I'll be out when I finally figure out a way to get off the bed on my own."
Rick puts up his finger so that Layla would know he'd be back in a minute or so, runs to the bedroom to help his fiance to get out of bed. The two of them then walks out, although Lannie looks more like a waddling duck.
"Hi Lannie! How's baby?" Lannie makes a thumbs up motion to indicate that baby is fine. "Me on the other hand not so much, she's so big I don't even know how I'm not bended backwards, I can't sit down without spreading my legs open and have someone help hold me up on the way down, last time I tried going at it alone Rick found me semi curled up on the couch crying my eyes out in pain and then we have all the stretching and soccershots at my bladder, going out in public and having to pee every half hour really isn't my idea of fun. I called my mother a week or so ago though and she said that she'd have the same issue with all three of her pregnancies so this is what I have to expect during the next ones too." Lannie ends her rant with one of the most beautiful smiles she could muster. "How are you doing with all of this? You know, finding out that Carole and Christian had been plotting this together and all of that mess?"
"I'm coming to terms with it. You all have been such an amazing help and Carter has been amazing during the trial and everything since." She ends up blushing and Lannie has that glint in her eye again, Rick's getting a little scared. "I'm thinking of asking him to come over for dinner one of these nights." Rick feels Lannie poke his side and says. "I was actually thinking of inviting everyone over for a barbeque and was wondering if you, your father and little sister would mind coming over to meet the rest of the family? I mean, you'd have to do it some time anyways. In this family it's like this, if you're friends with one, you get everyone!"
Layla thinks about it for a moment and then tells them she'd have to talk with the family first and sends of a text to both Emily and her father. The texts comes back almost instantly. She looks up and says.
"Yeah, we'd love to come. When would this event take place anyways and where?"

A little while later, Rick is helping Lannie out of the car in front of his fathers house, rings the doorbell, waits for someone to open the door and breaths a sigh of relief when it's his father that opens.
"Hi dad! How are you? Iinvitedeveryoneoverforabarbequetonightifthat'sokej?" Eric looks at his youngest son and bewilderment is all over his face.
"Hi Rick, I'm good, you? Say what?" Rick looks guilty and then asks his father again.
"I invited everyone over for a barbeque if that's okey?" Now it makes a little more sense. "Sure it is, who's coming?"
"Well, everyone as well as Layla, her father and sister. Moms coming too. They're all bringing food too so we don't have to worry about all that." Eric looks really proud of his son and then Lannie makes her presence know.
"Uhm, could I come in please, I need to pee. Come on Rick!" The waddling whirlwind waddled past them as Stephanie came down the stairs.
"Well, isn't this a surprise, to what do we owe the pleasure?" At the end of the question Rick just made his current signature one finger in the air indicating he'd be back soon and Eric just shrugged his shoulders leaving the explanation to his son. When Rick came back with Lannie waddling behind him he explained and Stephanie was on board when the word barbeque left his mouth. Stephanie being the hostess professional that she is shows Rick where to find the cutlery, china and glasses used during barbeques at the Forrester Mansion, she had sent Eric away to get some meat and vegetarian options if the need should occur.

The first ones to arrive was Layla and her family with Carter in a tow. Liam and Steffy were next and they had Lillie and Wyatt with them. As Brooke Logan walked through the door though, she almost had to sit herself down and catch her breath. She started waving her arm around and the only one to catch it was Steffy so she went over to Brooke and asked what was wrong.
"Who is that man over there? The one talking to Stephanie." Steffy looked towards where Brooke is pointing and realizes who she's talking about. "Well, that's Logan Ericsson, he's Layla's father, oh right, you've never met him before right?" Brooke then shocks Steffy when she says. "Oh, I've met him before in passing, a long long time ago. He's one of the kids that helped my mother with her catering. He was supposed to be here when I first met your father, but he got sick or something and didn't make it." As she says this, Logan turns around and his eyes catches Brooke and recognition ignites in his eyes. He starts walking over to where Brooke is having her little panic attack and practically kisses her senseless. She feels her knees go weak and so she holds on to him so hard it looked like she was holding on for dear life. Then she starts kissing him back and all of a sudden the sounds surrounding them comes through their little bubble, what they hear are applause and cheers. Brooke then lets out a breath, says his name and then starts to touch his face as if to try to place it in a memory.
A few moments later Ridge comes walking through the door with Thomas, Abby and a woman that Steffy recognizes from before Bridget's wedding. She sends a picture to Bridget and asks her if she recognizes the woman that just walked in on her fathers arm. Luckily Bridget, Zach, their kids and Jackie, Taylor, Nick and their three kids walks through the door at the same time. Bridget shows Jackie the picture and then they search for Steffy who they see is lounging on one of the couches with her legs over Liams. They walk up behind them and then whispers "Yes, I believe we do." Steffy jumps and then lightly slaps Bridgets shoulder. "See, I told her she'd be perfect for my father and there she is!" Jackie, Bridget and Steffy then walk up behind the woman and whisper. "Peyton" Ridge is really surprised at this and looks curiously at the four women. "How do you know her name?" And Steffy just says. "Honeymoon lingerie!" And almost laughs her head off, the other three women joining in pretty soon after. Its almost like a light switches on in Ridge's head as he hear this. "She's the one you told me about? Now that's a coincidence."
"Oh daddy, you wanna hear a coincidence? See Brooke and that man over there?" Ridge nods and beckons Steffy to continue. "Well, Brooke had a minor panic attack when she saw him and then when he saw her, he walked over real manly and started kissing her senseless. You know why? Because they have been longing for each other for over 30 years and Lannies car was struck by his daughters car. It's an amazing story don't you think? 32 years in the making. A grand love story." Steffy smiled brightly and her dad was amazed.
The rest of the get together went down without any hitches, incidents or anything and everyone was tiredly happy when they left.

They had met at night school for what ever reason, taking two classes, one in economics and the other one in design, since both were a little lonely and had felt the need to do something productive with their time.
Ridge was already sitting down when the gorgeous redhead walked through the door. He'd never seen a woman so beautiful before and when he first heard her speak, he was completely mesmerized.
"Hi, I'm Peyton Edwards, is it okey that I sit here? I mean, you are the only other one here that's about my age." Ridge nodded and as the class started he had some trouble concentrating. Her ivory skin, freckles and big curly red hair had him completely under her spell. When the class ended he mustered up the courage to ask her a simple question.
"Would you like to go on a date with me?" To his big surprise she accepted and they made plans for the Friday of that week.
That was three weeks ago and they had been going out at least three times a week since. Coffee dates, dinner, lunch, some time even an hour before class to get an ice cream or something. It wasn't long until he met her kids for the first time, although that wasn't really supposed to be a meeting between them. They were running a bit late, or, their father was, so Peyton had brought both her son and daughter with her to class that night. Her daughter had an interest in designing clothes and so she came with for that reason and her son just tagged along so that his father wouldn't have to stop at two places. Sure, he was going off to collage soon and wanted to spend a little more time with his mother before leaving, but he also kind of wanted to see who this man that put a smile on his mothers face was.
The divorce had taken it's toll on everyone, but they had pulled through and the routine they had now worked really well. All of them seemed happier because Peyton and Michael had divorced. Ridge meeting the kids was a success though, the three of them clicked really well and it wasn't because of the ice cream that he had treated them with, but because they connected and the two kids could see that their mother was happy again.
They hadn't talked about what they were to each other, but it was only three weeks old, Ridge knew he wanted to take things slow, based on his other relationships it might be a good idea and since Peytons divorce was final just a few months ago, she felt like it was a good idea too.
Laura Marie was with her father at the time of the barbeque and Patrick was settling in in his dorm room and getting the routine in place for how to get to class the fastest way, therefore the rest of the clan hasn't met either of Peytons kids, but boy were they in for it when Thanksgiving came that year. Especially two of our beloved Forrester kids. Someone is going to fall head over heels in love with one of the Edwards kids and the heartache it's going to bring is overwhelming.
AN:
So, Logan and Brooke was not going to meet like that originally, but it just wanted to come out that way. Ricnies baby survived and you might have noticed that I borrowed that moment from OTH.
Also, did you notice the wordplay on Logan Ericssons name?
