AN: sorry for the long wait well here is the next chapter of it all started with a gift sorry it's so short

After the rest of the passing teams had made it to the tower and were checked in. Naruto followed Anko to where the preliminaries would be held. Anko walked off and stood next to the Hokage and Hayate while Naruto went to talk to team ten. "Yo Kiba nice to see you made it" Naruto said as Hataru went to play with Akamaru.

"yeah just barely I mean if Shikamaru hadn't come up with a plan to set up a trap to capture a team with both scrolls we probably wouldn't have passed" Kiba replied. The Sandaime then called everyone's attention and all the genin turned to listen. Sarutobi soon began his speech about how the exams were to test the genin and also show off a nations power once he was finished Hayate stepped forward.

"these are the preliminary (cough) the panels on the board will show (cough cough) who will be fighting when your name is shown please (cough) step into the arena and wait till (cough) I say begin (cough cough cough)" the board begin to flash through names and soon landed on Kiba's "Yahooo I get to go first" Kiba shouted and Akamaru barked in agreement before the next panel lit up with a name and Kiba groaned "Oh come on" Shikamaru put a comforting hand on Kiba's shoulder as he read the name … Naruto Uzumaki Inuzuka.

Naruto walked into the Arena and heard Shikamaru wish Kiba luck before walking out of the arena. "Hey Kiba I think we should leave Hataru and Akamaru out of this fight because they'll only wind up fighting each other anyway" Naruto said and Kiba nodded in agreement as Hataru and Akamaru went to the sidelines and sat down.

"I'm not gonna go easy on you Naruto" Kiba yelled as he dropped to all fours. "I hope not" Naruto responded as he got into a stance he had come up with over his training trip. As soon as Hayate yelled "BEGIN" Kiba jumped at Naruto and tried to hit him in the face but Naruto raised his hand quickly and caught Kiba's arm before bringing his foot around to kick Kiba in the side but to Naruto's surprise Kiba jumped and flipped over his body making him let go of his arm. Naruto quickly turned towards Kiba and jumped backwards just in time to dodge a punch aimed for his spine before he did a single hand seal and mist begins to form around the arena while Naruto stepped back into it. "Naruto you forget I can still smell you" Kiba said as he followed Naruto's scent but quickly learned that it was being spread out by the mist.

"I know that's why I made sure that the mist would carry my scent so you couldn't get the specific location" Naruto replied from somewhere in the mist and Kiba jumped towards the voice only for nothing to be there. Naruto watched Kiba through the mist but soon saw Kiba do a few one handed seals he didn't recognize.

Up in the stands Haku was grinning her head off she felt so proud of her boyfriend while Zabuza who was sitting next to her simply said "you taught the boy how to use ice didn't you" and Haku nodded as Zabuza sighed.

Kiba began to slowly condense the water into ice and noticed Naruto's presence in the mist and quickly turned to him "got cha thousand needles of death" He said as ice senbon rose from the ground all aiming at Naruto. Naruto widened his eyes and quickly drew his sword and made a clone and stood back to back with it. As the needles begin to rain down on him and his clone they worked in complete synch blocking the senbon they could and dodging others but unluckily Naruto got hit by some of them before they were done "Hey Kiba what you trying to do kill me" Naruto yelled.

"no they were all aimed at pressure points on your body but you made him go into different spots" Kiba replied as he pulled out a kunai. Naruto simply turned around and made a few hand signs as his clone dispersed and made another clone before vanishing into the mist. The clone ran at Kiba and Kiba no knowing the danger the clone presented simply stabbed the kunai through it. The clone turned into a fog like substance which Kiba accidentally inhaled. As soon as it entered his lungs it began to slowly turn into water and Kiba dropped to his knees as he was essentially being drowned. Naruto walked up behind Kiba and put his sword to the back of Kiba's neck "surrender Kiba" Naruto said and Kiba raised his hands signaling he surrendered and the water in his lungs turned back into a vapor form and left his body. "Winner Naruto" Hayate called and Naruto grabbed Kiba's hand and helped him up.

"Naruto what was that" Kiba asked and Naruto Grinned a bit. "it was an idea I got when a clone of mine managed to destroy one of Zabuza's water clones and I saw the shadow clone seem to absorb the water. I call it the Fog Bunshin it's not that strong on its own but if someone inhales it I can condense it to turn it back into a water state and evaporate it to turn it back into a vapor state" Naruto explained and Kiba along with a lot of the Jonin looked at Naruto wide eyed even Sarutobi was surprised.

"you really are the number one unpredictable ninja Naruto" Kiba said chuckling a bit as he picked Akamaru up and placed him on his head "well now that you beat me you better not lose".

"I don't plan on it" Naruto said as he held out his hand and Kiba shook it before they walked up into the stands as the next matches were called neither really paying attention to them. Naruto was about to begin watching The matches when he felt a pair of arms wrap around him "hey since you already won your match can we go get something to eat together" Anko asked from behind Naruto. "sure where would you like to go" Naruto asked and Anko Replied with "how about the Dango shop". "alright Anko-chan" Naruto said with a smile and they left while Kakashi who had been next to them and heard the conversation thought "Naruto you have no idea what you have just got yourself into"
