Hello folks,
thanks for your amazing reviews again. I just watched the promo for the next episode in two weeks and damn, I'm so anxious about the whole Henry - Iona Pyne thing. Will they start dating ? And is she going to get killed coz it sure looks like it! Man, I'm excited, but for this little thing I've got going on here I sure as hell hope it's not gonna work out between these two because how am I gonna fit kisses into a plot line in which Henry's actually dating someone else? Anyway, here's the one for this week's episodes, I hope you like it.
01x15: The King of Columbus Circle
The meal's quite terrible. It just takes the smell for her to feel nauseous and she's getting sick of watching Hanson eat it.
Lucas looks equally disgusted and thank god, it doesn't take very long until Mike's finished.
"Hey Lucas, do you want me to take you home?", she asks the younger man, knowing he'd need to take the metro.
He nods happily. "Sure, that would be great." It's funny how Lucas seems to be so completely different in comparison to Henry.
"Come on then," she says, greeting Hanson goodbye, before leading the way to her car. Lucas gets in as well, looking a little disbelievingly.
"I think it smells a little like Henry and baby powder in here."
Jo laughs. "Yeah, well, I did take him and Lydia's son home."
She's turned on the engine by now and pulled out onto the street. They're stopped by a red light.
"So detective," Lucas suddenly starts, "I was wondering…we both didn't get to eat anything yet, so would you like to go somewhere?"
Instantly, she starts to panic, because is he actually asking…?
"Lucas, are you trying to ask me out?", she says.
"Well, if you need to ask, them I'm obviously doing something wrong," he answers drily, watching her thoughtfully.
Involuntarily, Jo has to laugh at that, but quickly bites her lip, not quite sure what to say to that. She isn't stupid, she knows he's been trying to hit on her from time to time, but it's never been anything serious or worth answering to. But now…
Taking a deep breath, she starts speaking, even if she doesn't know what she's going to say.
"Lucas, " she starts, but he instantly cuts her off.
"It's alright, I get it. Boss' girl and all."
Jo's mouth falls open and she can't help but blush as she stares at Lucas, speechless for a moment.
"I'm not…we're not," she stumbles over the words and Lucas holds up a hand.
"Look, I won't tell. I've had my suspicions for a while now. I mean your car smells like him. Don't worry, I doubt anybody's onto you. You've been quite sneaky." He keeps talking but Jo doesn't listen anymore because he's the second person today who thinks Henry and her are a couple and it kinda throws her for a loop because she has to admit she's been thinking about it and god, did he look sexy with that baby boy in his arms.
Mentally, she shakes her head at herself. It's probably just her biological clock ticking, but damn, the moment with the baby in the hospital…it was pretty nice.
"We're here, detective, thanks for the lift," Lucas suddenly says and she stops.
"Goodnight, Lucas," she says almost mechanically and Lucas grins. "You too. And tell the doc I'm happy for you both."
He vanishes before she can say anything in return and then she sits there, wondering why she feels so thrown. They both have corrected the nurse instantly and yet that moment felt so very intimate. She remembers how Henry looked at her when she had the boy in her arms. His gaze has made her feel funny things and if she's being honest, she's been having these feelings a lot lately. Oh god, does that mean she's falling in love with Henry Morgan?
He's still a little shaken by all that has happened today. In some way, he and Abe are actually related and he's not really brave enough to even think about what he's felt around Jo.
Henry still can't believe she wants to visit the Taj Mahal. It's been something he's always been wanting to as well, but Abigail had liked the Orient Express better. While he's loved his wife and wouldn't trade their time for anything, he's come to realize that he's done many things just for her, like he would have given her the child she's been asking for, if only she could have had children of her own.
He thinks of how seeing Jo with that baby has taken his breath away. She looked so at piece and he's felt that he wanted…well, what exactly? Honeymooning in India with her comes to his mind and he finds he is not as freaked out by that thought as he's supposed he would be. What does that mean? It's no secret that he likes her and he even thinks she's hot, but he's never felt the need he did when they were in the hospital. But how can he think about these things when he knows they won't work out. As long as Abigail was young, the "age difference" hasn't been difficult at all, but later when she was in her mid-fifties things became a lot more complicated. He doubts Jo would feel any different about that.
Then again, considering how Jo doesn't know about his condition yet and that they aren't even dating, he might be thinking too far ahead.
He sighs. He needs to talk to her.
The second she finds the courage to actually knock against his door, Henry opens it and for a moment they stare at each other, surprised.
"I was coming to see you," the say simultaneously and grin at each other.
Jo tries to ignore the pounding of her heart. So he was coming to see her, big deal.
"You go first," Henry says, always the gentleman, and smiles. He looks so handsome, ridiculously hot and it hits her in the gut.
"No, you," she says back weakly because she still doesn't know what to say to him. She still doesn't have a clue how she even ended up here.
He looks like he isn't going to say anything anytime soon, so she takes a deep breath and blurts the first words out that come to her mind.
"I think I have feelings for you."
For another second they both stare at each other and Jo can't believe it. Has she dreamt this or has he actually said the same thing? He has feelings for her?
Regarding Henry's facial expression, she realizes she hasn't dreamt this. While she is too puzzled to do anything but stare at him, Henry blushes a little, rubbing his neck shyly.
"I guess we're one the same page then," he says and takes a step forward.
Jo swallows when she feels him taking her hand in his. It's warm and gentle and damn it, she's definitely falling for him, judging by the funny feelings she's having.
"I don't know exactly how to proceed here, Jo," he tells her honestly. "I'm a little out of practice."
She bites her lip, forcing her wild beating heart to slow down so she can say something. "I…I guess we could start with a…date," she says, swallowing against the lump in her throat, upon realizing Henry's intensely staring at her lips.
"Yes, we could do that," he answers, still focused on her mouth and she nervously bites it again.
He swallows and she thinks she sees his pupils dilating a little. "Jo, you need to stop doing that. Even I am not that much of a gentleman," he says hoarsely and she blushes, realizing what he means.
"I should go," she whispers and he nods. "Yes, you definitely should."
Swallowing, she quickly leans up and presses her lips chastely against his before almost jumping away. "I'll see you tomorrow, " she says, her heart beat almost crushing her ribcage.
Henry nods. "Goodnight, Jo. Sweet dreams." His voice is still a bit rough and she bites her lip to keep in a smile. Wow, it's nice to know she's got that kind of power over him.
She waves a last time before quickly making her way to her car again.
Wow, she's got a date with Henry Morgan.
