Hey guys,

thank you so much for your many amazing reviews and private messages. It's so nice to see that so many of you enjoy my stuff :)
So this week's one was difficult to write since the episode was rather perfect and there was only this little nice scene in the hospital which I thought I could use so here you go :)

PS: dear god, the finale is in two weeks, how am I supposed to cope? Please god, let it be renewed :)

01x21: The Night in Question

Damn it, she is so nervous. It's ridiculous really. She hasn't seen Henry since yesterday evening. Jo still can't exactly explain what happened. One second she's sitting in Isaac's car and the next she is with Henry, trying to tell him that she somehow…kind of…likes him. Not that she even got that far because Abe interrupted and once he started talking, Henry was completely focused on his friend. Still, when Hanson tells her Henry took a few days off, she panics because she's afraid that she's the reason. What if he understood more of her ramble than he let on and now he doesn't want to be her partner anymore because she's fallen in love with him and he doesn't reciprocate?

Oh god! Why the hell did she have to pay him a visit? She knows he's emotionally unavailable because he's still in love with Abigail and he even told her flat out that he wouldn't be hitting on her. The heart wants what it wants, they say and Jo figures she doesn't really have a choice.

Since Hanson can't tell her why Henry took some personal days, she goes to visit Lucas. She freaks out a little when he asks if there's anything going on between his boss and her because it's way too close to the truth for her to feel comfortable. Of course she vehemently denies it and she's unbelievably relieved when Lucas tells her the reason why Henry took some time off. It's got nothing to do with her and everything with Abraham's mother's vanishing.

Later, when they're at the hospital where Abe's mom has worked, she seems calm enough that she dares to comment on their awkward talk on the previous night.

"I didn't want to make you uncomfortable," she tells him, ridiculously nervous and her breath catches as Henry smiles his damned charming smile and tilts his head down.

"Believe me it would take a lot more to make me feel uncomfortable."

Her heart pounds crazily in her chest and she bites her lip. What does that mean? Swallowing and mentally cursing, she takes a step forward and Henry still smiles down at her and it's so enamoring that her knees turn into jelly.

"I'm really glad I chose not to go to Paris," she tells him quietly and to her delight, Henry slowly puts one on his hands on her hip and squeezes gently.

"Me too," he replies and oh god, it this really happening? She can't believe it and yet she knows it's real because Henry is pulling her close and starts leaning down.

"No matter what, my first choice will always be you," he says and she blushes while she's certain her heart is going to jump right out of her rip cage.

"Likewise," she whispers back and Henry's smile widens before he leans down and kisses her softly. Jo almost swoons because there's no way in hell that Henry Morgan is actually kissing her… oh god, he is, isn't he?
Despite her shock she manages to kiss him back, gently knotting her fingers into his dark thick hair and it's not a passionate, hot kiss. Instead it's loving and soft and when he pulls away, his eyes shine with adoration.

"This case might be a little difficult for me, but when it's done and I've had some time to process…would you consider going out with me?", he asks her formally and Jo blushes again. Damn it, it's like she's a fifteen-year-old school girl all over again. Get a grip, Mártinez!

"Like on a date?", she asks and he nods, his charming smile on full power again.

"Yes, like on a date."

"I'd like that," she replies, still giddy and Henry smiles beautifully.

"Great," he tells her and Jo really can't believe she's dating Henry Morgan. Oh god, she's kissed him and they are going to go out on a date! She sure as hell hopes the case will be wrapped up rather quickly, even though she has a feeling there's more to Abe's mom than Henry lets on.

The nurse calling her takes her mind off Henry. "Detective Mártinez?"
