Chapter 14:

House of the Possessed Dolls Part 4

It was unusual for Jasmine to be the first one up out of their little group, but for some reason it seemed that she couldn't sleep in past six o'clock this morning. She had already taken a shower and came back to find that Sam had taken full control over the bed while the young woman had been gone. Biting back the laugh she wanted to let loose, Jasmine looked at the other three that were still sleeping and decided that while the others were out she would get breakfast. She decided because there was a bakery nearby that she would get them all Danishes and coffee to consume before they dove into the research once again. Jasmine didn't have to wait long for the lady at the counter to gather her order up and get the coffees ready and less then an half hour later she was ready to go back to the motel.

Before she could open the door to the room, it opened up in front of her and Jasmine almost dropped the breakfast she bought as Dean stepped out in front of her. Without a word he took the food and sat it on the table right inside the door and then turned around, fixing Jasmine with his intense green gaze. Jasmine could tell that there was something on Dean's mind as he closed the door behind him leaving the two of them outside the room in just each other's company. She didn't know why as she had never felt that way before, but the purple spiky haired female felt nervous in Dean's presence. She knew that Dean had that way about him to make people around him nervous though that had never applied to her before now.

Jasmine knew that no reason to be nervous, but standing here in front of Dean like this she was almost shaking from being nervous. There was no sane reason for her to be nervous and the tension between them seemed to fill the air surrounding the two. "What is wrong, Dean?" Her voice finally coming out. She didn't like the fact that Dean didn't answer her right out as the two of them were usually straight forward especially with both of their tempers sometimes. "Dean?" She prompted softly before going quiet at the glare that he sent her making her realize that the older male truly wasn't happy with Jasmine at all.

"We need to talk, Jasmine," Dean said simply, but the tone in his voice was like she had never heard before and it caused her to frown at the hardness to it. Instead of saying anything in return, Jasmine nodded at him and waited for him to speak again not wanting to make Dean anymore upset at her than he already was. Seeing that Jasmine wasn't going to speak and push his buttons, Dean spoke up again. "I wouldn't bring this up, but I need to know. Where were you the night I died?"

Any question that Jasmine had been expecting this wasn't it and her eyes went wide realizing just why Dean was asking this. "I am not sure that I am ready to talk about this…" There was a soft stutter in her voice and she turned to walk away when Dean grabbed her by the arm forcing her to look back at him again.

"I am ready to talk about it, Jazz." Dean's voice was close to sounding commanding to her. "I need to know. You can't leave me in the dark."

The spiky haired female looked like she was close to pulling free and making a run for it so she didn't have to spill whatever secret she was holding so close to her heart. Dean must have seen the fact that she was thinking about running in her eyes because his grip tightened momentarily over her arm in a silent warning not to try and run from him. "What are you so scared of? You have never hidden things from me before. Why start now, Jazzie?" He knew by the fact she hadn't answered already that it was something big or bad, maybe both.

Realizing that she wasn't going to be able to get away from Dean with his hand gripping at her arm, Jasmine sighed and finally gave in. Looking into the green eyes of her older brother figure she found that she couldn't refuse him what he wanted to know from her. "Well, you remember how my Dad sent me to gather some information for him that morning…"

Following the instructions of her father Jasmine had left for a little town nearby to their place that had in the past couple of days had started to shoe strange activity. She was using Bobby's pick up and only had the barest of equipment because her father only wanted her to gather information for him. He, like all four of the younger hunters knew what was going to happen that night to Dean and didn't want Jasmine not to be there. So she had left real early in the morning to make sure that she would be back way before the dreaded deadline that she was fearing so badly. Things in the small town were just starting to open up and she pulled into a gas station to fill up before she started to interview victims.

Five days ago three women disappeared from the town and didn't reappear on the grid until yesterday with no memory of what happened to them other than they remembered being in intense pain. That is what caught Bobby's attention and because it was so close he decided to send Jasmine in just to get an idea of what was going on there. Maybe if he knew what was going to happen he would have never ever let her go in the first place, but there was no turning back now.

Jasmine had easily gained access to the first woman's house who had surprisingly let her in without much fuss which started sending out warning signals to her. On top of it the woman started to tell Jasmine every little thing she could remember without much coaching which sent Jasmine's hunting instincts to tell her to flee. She figured that she would finish the interview though before taking off and calling her father to let him know something was terribly wrong. The young woman didn't even make it to the door before she felt a sharp pain in the back of her head and she knew no more.

When Jasmine came to all three woman that she was suppose to interview was standing in front of her with the most evil smirks that she had ever seen. She tried to move but soon figured out that she was tied to a chair with her hands tied behind her back and feet to the legs of the chair. Her head was throbbing from where she had been hit and the young hunter was cursing herself for letting herself get caught by these women. "What the hell is this? What are you bitches trying to pull?" She shrieked trying to free herself from the chair, only making the chair shake instead. Her capturers didn't answer her, but instead they only laughed at her like Jasmine was the funniest thing that they had ever run across.

"So easy to catch, so easy to manipulate…" One of the women that Jasmine had not interviewed yet said smiling at her in a way that sent shivers down her spine.

The young woman was shocked by her words that for some reason this had been a trap and she had fallen right into it so easily, but who was the trap for? She realized with a start that one of the other women were talking again and she forced herself to focus on the words. "The girl was suppose to bring the other female with her. Mistress figured that the wouldn't want to come by herself." Jasmine realized that she was one of the intended victims of the trap, but the way it sounded they had been expecting Bella as well. She couldn't help but snicker at their thoughts that they would actually think Bella would leave Dean's side today.

For Jasmine's trouble for her snickering there was a sickening crack as the first woman slapped her across the face making Jasmine gasp from the pain as eh head jerked to the side. "Now, is that funny little girl?" The woman hissed out at her.

Jasmine glared back at the elder female, her violet eyes darkened to almost black. "You really think that Bella would leave Dean's side for anything?" Which wasn't exactly true because Bella had been torn between the two of them, but Jasmine wouldn't hear of Bella coming with her. She usually wouldn't mention names of the people that she was close to but she had a feeling these three already knew everything and she hoped to get information out of them faster this way.

"The Mistress will not be happy. She thought the other female would come with you. She wanted you both." The one that seemed to be the leader of the trio spoke glaring at Jasmine like it was her fault.

Jasmine couldn't help, but snarl back. "Who the hell is this Mistress you speak of? What exactly are you?"

For her trouble Jasmine was smacked again. "Don't you dare think of us as things. We are as human as you are. We are witches blessed by Lilith and do her bidding."

"Witches…" She muttered. "You are just idiots that sold your souls." Her eyes went wide with realizing exactly what the other females were saying. "Wait… Lilith?!" Jasmine didn't get to say much more as the witches had gotten angry enough to gag her to keep her quiet for awhile.

"Yes, my dear. Lilith…" The one with red hair hissed into her ear, venom lacing into her voice. "She wanted both of you foolish girls out of the way so that you wouldn't be there when she collected Dean's deal. Not only upset him at both of you right before his death, but also make little Sammy distrust you two as well." She pulled Jasmine's chin into her hand and forced the younger girl to look at her. "But you messed that up coming by yourself, little bitch…" She spit on Jasmine before backing away leaving her tied to the chair.

Jasmine was forced to stay there tied to the chair for the rest of the night as the witches threw insults and teased her bits of information about how Dean would be taken to Hell and the tortures he would be forced to endure. She didn't want to listen to all of this, it was breaking her heart that she was trapped here while the others needed her especially when it seemed that all the demons wanted to break up what was going to be left of her family once Dean was gone. She didn't know what the demons seemed to want with Sam, but they all seemed to enjoy watching him suffer which was her favorite opinion. But it wasn't just Sam they seemed to like watch suffer if everything that had been happening to Dean lately was any clue. Her and Bella were suffering as well in just seeing what the boys were going through and if felt like they were just there for the ride.

Then came the most horrible part of the night as the clock struck twelve as the witches taunts and insults increased during that time. Their laughter and words of how she couldn't save him echoing in her ears as she finally gave up struggling against the ropes that bound her. It wasn't until way after twelve thirty that the witches had left her go as they had orders not to kill but restrain during the midnight hour. They have immediately fled before Jasmine had the strength to get up and by the time she had finally gotten home Dean had been gone two hours already.

Jasmine had stopped looking at Dean halfway through the story, not wanting to see how disappointed that he would be letting herself get caught like that or that she couldn't free herself to get back to them. She was completely surprised when he jerked her to turn around to look at him and she froze seeing in his eyes that he might just believe her if she could straighten out just one more thing.

"Then why did Bobby get a phone call from you saying you got tied up and would be home later but still back before midnight?" Dean asked his voice not as harsh as it had been before Jasmine had started talking.

"Because they promised that if I didn't do it Lilith would kill everyone that was in the room with you at midnight. That they would join you in Hell." She bit her lip. "I couldn't chance loosing anyone else that night…"

Dean didn't have to ask if she was telling him the truth as Jasmine had never lied to him and deep down he didn't want to believe that she would betray him like that. It would be a hard pill for him to swallow if Jasmine would ever do something like that, it would be almost as bad as Sammy betraying him. And just like Sam or Bella anyone that thought they could get away with hurting Jasmine and holding her against her will would be leaving in a body bag. His eyes narrowed and a dangerous edge slipped into his tone as he spoke again. "Are they dead?" He had to know and seeing Sam and Bella's eyes looking back at him from their hiding spot where they had been listening that they wanted the witches to pay as well.

Darkened violet-blue eyes seemed intense and a harsh smirk appeared across Jasmine's face. "You Winchesters are not the only ones with rules about family." She chuckled. "I think Lilith abandoned them after that night because they were too easy for me and Father only a few weeks later. They didn't even bother to move from the town."

From the shadows of the alleyway beside the motel room Sam and Bella emerged and if Jasmine was surprised the spiky haired girl didn't look it as her eyes glanced over at the other two. "Why didn't you tell us?" Sam asked for the both of them.

"By the time that I got back that night and when you both ended up leaving neither of you was truly with me in the mental department being lost in so much grief and me too that I decided it would be a better story for later. I was never expecting that both of you would leave though and I am sorry if anyone of you felt abandoned that night." Jasmine spoke softly.

"But when we all got together why didn't you tell us then instead of us having to do it this way?" Bella asked looking a moment at her best friend accusingly.

Jasmine sighed. "Honestly, it was something I was trying to forget. Your mind blocked the memory of that night away because it was so horrible. I just buried it down deep, trying not to think about it." Seeing that the other three were still looking at her, Jasmine shook her head. "Well, you three… Are we good?"

Dean placed his hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze before Sam hugged her to him with Bella standing there smiling at her. Yeah, they were good… Somehow they always became good…

No… No… No… Shit! That hurt! Bella thought moments after her head hit the wall because a pissed off male spirit. She let out a groan as she slid down the wall and fell to the ground as she tried to catch her breath and watch for the spirit attacking her. "Why does this stuff always happen to me…" She looked around her and squeaked trying to stand up and get her footing seeing a doll floating toward her.

Suddenly the doll was flung in her direction and Bella dodged at the last moment and the doll shattered against the wall where she was just moments before. Taking off down the hall, Bella knew she had to keep ahead of whatever spirit was trying to kill her with the dolls as the brunette grabbed for her gun. Oh, why did I think splitting up was a good idea? Their team was already split in half in the first place as Sam and Jasmine were in the graveyard digging up the bodies of the mother and daughter to salt and burn them. This left Dean and Bella to explore the house and grounds for the third body that they knew was there after the extra research the group had done that day.

It had taken most the morning and part of the afternoon to get the information they needed to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Learning through other older reports and family backgrounds they had learned a whole lot that sickened them like nothing else could. Mr. Murray had been hospitalized many times when he was younger because he attacked his family and had been deemed at the time mentally unstable. When he hit the age of being a young adult his one uncle had a court's decision thrown out and he had been let out. Everything went well for awhile as he got married and had his daughter and became a successful businessman.

Now, the thing about him being hospitalized was sending off warning bells in the hunter's instincts but it was the article that Sam dug up right after the fire that killed Mrs. Murray and her daughter that caught their attention. "Listen to this…"

"Mr. Walter Murray's brother stated today

That Mrs. Murray had a long time fear of her

Husband who she claimed beat her on several

Occasions while claiming she was having an affair

and even bound their daughter to a

Bed and gagged at night because she had a habit

Of sleep walking. When asked why he never told

This to the police or someone that could help he

Explained that he never had any proof and that

Mrs. Murray would never back him up. And

Strangely enough since the death of his wife and

Daughter in the fire a week ago Mr. Murray has

Yet to return to town."

The group figured that Mr. Murray just might be the stalker Mrs. Murray claimed to see when he was away on business and that by using the trips as an excuse to try and catch her wife cheating. The article also explained the bedroom Dean and Sam had found on the first floor as it was meant to keep the daughter bound, which made the girls peculiarly sick about it. Something had to have happened that night that caused Mr. Murray to stalk back into the house and kill his family before getting caught in the fire as well. It didn't matter how exactly it happened Bella knew, but it had to be stopped before someone else died… Like maybe her… She ducked another flinging doll and heard it crash behind her.

"Definitely not a good idea to split up. Stupid dolls!" Bella growled ducking into a spare room closing the door before a third doll crashed into the door. "Where are all these dolls coming from?" She sighed sliding down the door to sit on the floor. "Why did I think having Dean check the first floor and me the second floor to save time was a good idea?" Bella murmured to herself. Her eyes slowly began to adjust to the dark room and she gulped seeing she had hopped out of the frying pan and directly into the fire. She could see all the tiny red eyes watching her and she realized that she was among at least fifty dolls in this spare room.

"I am never teasing Jasmine about her fear of dolls with the song 'Barbie Girl' ever again." Bella muttered slowly standing up watching the dolls watch her. Though the moment she reached for the door several were throwing themselves and she ducked out of the way firing at a few hoping to make them back off. She heard the pounding of footsteps up the staircase and figured Dean had heard the shots from downstairs.

"Bells!" She heard him yell as he hit the top of the stairs. She looked at the now motionless dolls and made for the door. Just as she opened it and dashed out she collided with a hard body. "Easy, Bells." She heard Dean's voice whisper as she clung to him not knowing she was shaking.

"Remind me to apologize to Jasmine later… She is right. I hate dolls!" Bella told him without looking up.

"I think it is about time to go back downstairs baby girl." Dean was watching the open door behind Bella and could see all the dolls just staring at him. He slowly started backing them up toward the staircase. "How many are in that room, Bells?"

Bella started backing up with him shaking her head. "Enough that you need a machine gun or flame thrower to handle…" She remarked. "And they are the only things up here. No bodies."

"And there is no bodies on the first floor." Dean replied back as they turned around and ran down the staircase. "The only thing left in here is the basement."

"Wonderful," Bella muttered sarcastically earning one of Dean's famous smirks in return as they hit the bottom of the stairs. The bottom of the house was strangely quiet unlike Bella's trip upstairs and they made it to the basement door without any interfere. Bella held the flashlight for Dean as they made their way down into the basement and then they began their search for the body. Dean was moving boxes and looking anywhere a body could be hidden and then that is when Bella spotted it standing in a corner surrounded by a lot of junk. It was a huge old wardrobe that certainly was big enough to hide a body in. "Dean, over in the left corner."

Dean nodded now also seeing wardrobe and started moving things out of the way to get to it. "Good job, Baby Girl. Let's hope this thing holds the corpse we are looking for." He got everything out of the way with some help from Bella and was finally able to get the door open. It revealed a skeleton that had been stuffed in the bottom. "Someone didn't want this guy to be found. Now, the fun part. Salt, please…"

Rolling her eyes, Bella handed the salt to Dean. "What is with you and liking to salt and burn things… Between you and Jasmine and her homemade bombs me and Sam will never get any peace and -" Whatever else she was going to say what suddenly stopped as Dean was roughly shoved aside right before he could light the corpse and Bella was flung into a wall. Dean growled and grabbed at his pistol shooting the spirit of Mr. Murray barely hearing the words about how he hated his wife's dolls. Then he dropped the match he just lit and threw it on the corpse watching it burn for a moment before walking toward Bella.

"Baby Girl? You okay?" Bella nodded and let Dean help her out of the basement and out of the house letting the flames destroy everything so there would be nothing to cling to for any of the three spirits. Once they were standing by the impala Dean checked her head to find that Bella had a nice bump but it didn't look like she had a concussion so Charlie wouldn't kill him. "And what was the bid idea of shoving me out of the way anyway?"

Bella rolled her eyes again. "What you prefer to have your ass slammed into a wall by a pissed of ghost?"

A sigh came from Dean, "Damn it, I owe Sam ten bucks. You did learn how to cuss from me…"

While Bella had been dodging murderous dolls, Jasmine and Sam were up to their waists in a grave or technically Sam was. He was digging the grave at the moment with Jasmine acting as spotter in case cops came or a mad spirit decided to make an entrance. For them it seemed they were getting the boring part of the deal having to sneak into a graveyard at night and dig up a grave to burn it but only if they knew what was happening at the mansion. "Do you want to switch?" Jasmine asked after several minutes feeling foolish standing there with the shotgun.

"No, I am good. I think I am almost at the grave." Was Sam's reply from the hole he was digging.

"Alright." Jasmine spoke running a hair through her spiky hair and that is when they heard it. An unearthly scream that sent shivers down Jasmine's back. "What the-" She froze seeing the doll that was suddenly there in front of her. She narrowed her eyes and pulled the trigger busting the doll to pieces. "Sam, dolls… How are dolls getting here?"

"Hang on!" He replied feeling the shovel hit the top of the casket. "I am almost through." He started hitting the shovel against the casket to break it open hearing shots from Jasmine's shotgun and then her scream. He looked up and saw that Jasmine was several feet from where she had been original positioned and that she was drawing her pistol on two floating dolls. He fired taking out the one while Jasmine took out the other just like how they use to be able to handle things. Sam didn't delay on dumping the salt into the now open grave of mother and daughter who seemed despite the fact that they had protected the group in the beginning they weren't quite ready to leave their house yet. He lit a match and watched it catch fire until it burned to nothing.

Him and Jasmine left the graveyard together making their way toward her mustang, Jasmine entwining their hands on the path as the fire slowly died behind them and another case done. They would meet Dean and Bella back at the motel and from there it would be back to Forks where they would meet the famous Cullens and the Wolf Pack. And knowing the Winchesters (especially Dean) and Jasmine there was bound to be trouble.

AN2: And the conclusion to The House of the Possessed Dolls case. I hope you liked! Next is the start of the return to Forks and the beginning of Edward and the Cullens meeting the Winchesters. muhahahaha Also sometime this week I hope to have the next chapter of A Hunters Strength up.
