Chapter Six – Aftermath
Vasilisa West
22 June 2014
"WE NEED TO GO BACK TO YOUR SCHOOL IMMEDIATELY!"
I barely comprehended the words that Wistful shouted at me. I was still trying to make sense of what was happening around me.
"RAVEN GIRL! I MEAN RIGHT NOW! ACTIVATE THE PORTKEY!"
I stared numbly at the pile of bodies strewn about the room.
Is this even real?
One of the Fireflies appeared next to me. "We need to go, Miss. Our friend and your friend need medical attention." His voice was quiet, gentle, yet urgent. He nodded his head at the limp figure in an extremely buff guy's arms. Dark brown hair and a pale, blood covered face was all that was visible of the newly bitten man.
Greyback is dead. Wistful killed Greyback.
"Vasilisa, we need to go now."
"If you go back now," I start with a tight throat at the thought of Kerri, "Professor James will kill you. You are an unmarked Death Eater. He will destroy you for killing Alders. You are a dead man, Lefu Zorn."
His voice is tight with frustration. "I am not a spy. I have told you this many times, yet you do not listen. You will understand soon. Let us get back to Base first."
Another Firefly appeared in front of me to block a curse coming from one of the last remaining Death Eaters. After killing him swiftly, the Firefly turned around to face me. "Fucking stop it already. We need to go. We cannot handle any more injuries, West," he hissed at me. He spat my name like it was poison. His pale green eyes flashed with a slight panic.
In response, Lefu handed him his key…his portkey. "We will meet you there. Go."
With a tight nod, the Firefly strides to the tall guy holding the injured werewolf victim. He grabs onto them and they disappear immediately.
A pale Sasha appeared next to me. "I don't know what to do," she whispered. "There are dead Death Eaters everywhere. We need to leave before the Dark Lord arrives with more reinforcement."
An unbidden shiver travelled down my spine. "Maybe… Give two portkeys to two different Fireflies. Tell them to grab as many alive Death Eaters as they can for questioning."
As if on cue, two Fireflies arrived at our group. "Thank you. We will do as you ask and hurry back. We need to finish this fight and free the camp." Sasha handed them the portkeys and they ran off.
All who was left, was Wistful and one of her companions, and then Sasha, Lefu, and I…not counting the Death Eaters, of course.
A victory shout alerted me to the fact that the Death Eaters had been momentarily defeated. Wistful laughed and talked in rapid Afrikaans to her companion, who also sounded extremely pleased. After a moment, they leisurely walked to our little group. Wistful looked me up and down once. "Why did the daughter of such a prestigious group, the Jang Mii, not join in on the fight?"
My hackles raised and I was about to defend myself, but her next words made me pause.
"Did you even go back to check if your other friend is alive?"
There was a moment of shocked silence, which Lefu broke by cursing up a storm and sprinting to the two collapsed Ravens in the middle of the room. Without waiting for anything, he grabbed onto both Kerri and Kimaine and, with a pop, Apparated away.
"You know he's a traitor, right?" Wistful said incredulously, making no attempt to hide her words. "You just let a traitor Apparate away with your fellow wounded Ravens."
Her female companion snorted. "They are still learning, Wistful."
For some reason I was feeling defensive. "I know that he is a traitor, but I do not doubt his love for Kimaine James." It was true, in a sense. Zorn may have led us into a trap, but he would never let Kimaine die.
"Whatever you say," Wistful said off-handedly.
Sasha was wringing her hands nervously. "We need to leave before-"
A multitude of Apparation cracks interrupted her. Collectively, Sasha and Wistful paled. "We need to go. NOW, WEST!"
"But what about the Camp?" Sasha panicked.
I ignored Sasha and threw a portkey at Wistful. The Fireflies didn't hesitate and activated it immediately. I grabbed a protesting Sasha's arm and followed suite.
We landed in the middle of a chaotic Assembly Hall. Sasha let go a stream of curses at me, but I paid her no mind. "Our health is more important right now."
She shut up at that.
I heard a sorrowful and angst-ridden yell. I lifted my eyes and saw that Kimaine had awoken and was being held by her brother while Lefu looked on gravely.
To the right side, the Fireflies stood around their fallen companion as he was looked over by a team of Healers.
Running footsteps approached Sasha and I. "What happened? Nobody is talking to us!" It's one of the Ravens – Abby Jackson, if I wasn't mistaken.
I ignored her (and the magically-exhausted Sasha who has collapsed in a dead faint) and walked to Professor Bulero. "Professor, this mission…" I trailed off at his look.
"We will discuss the mission tomorrow. Right now we focus on the Fireflies and healing the injured. Understood?"
I nodded. I understood perfectly.
Kimaine James
The next morning – Monday, 23 June
"…but they died, Wistful! Don't you get that? We killed…"
"We did not kill! We rid the world of…"
"Oh, that's what it is? What the fu.."
"Shut up, idiots! Stop arguing! You'll wake sleeping beauty over…"
"Beauty? Ha! More like Godzilla!"
"…want her to wake up. Her friend…"
"Shhhhhh! Merlin."
Distant voices, distant sentences with no definite meaning.
They are annoying. I just want to be alone.
"She is not sleeping," the quiet one said. This brings another bout of arguing. "You are annoying her," he tried again. "Just be quiet."
More useless arguing.
"Her friend died because she wasn't strong enough to protect her. It's pathetic."
"Be sensitive with what you say, she can hear you," the quiet one replied with a hard tone.
If you could ever see it up close
How could you ever forget
How senseless death
How precious life…
The Infirmary door opened and the Fireflies quieted down. Slow footsteps came up to my bed. A warm hand is placed on mine. "It's time for the meeting, Kimaine. Come on, I know you are awake."
I opened my eyes. My brother smiled down sadly at me and helped me to sit up. I don't glance in the Fireflies' direction as Adrian led me out of the Infirmary. "I don't want to go to the meeting," I told him quietly.
"I know you don't…but you have to. We need to get every single detail, from everyone involved."
I noticed distractedly that the Fireflies were following with a respectful distance between us. I already didn't like them. The stupid Fireflies with their stupid glamours. Their guarded nature was going to bring them nowhere. Why couldn't they just show their faces?
We reached the Assembly Hall without any difficulty. As I had expected, Ozymandias, Sasha and Lefu were waiting inside, along with about three Professors and two unfamiliar Aurors.
Professor Frost shot me an apprehensive look as Adrian led me to the seat next to Ozymandias. He sat down on my other side.
Apprehensive and skeptical, the Fireflies trickled in and took the only open seats left. I noticed that they were seven - a rather large number - and that the only person not disguised, was the girl with bleach blonde hair. She and Vasilisa exchanged a long, meanigful look.
Professor Bulero cleared his throat. "I think that we have postponed this unlikeable meeting for long enough. For the sake of our guests, can everyone please just state their first and last names. I am Auror (and Professor) Bulero."
"Auror Fryer." She was a nice and friendly-looking brunette.
"Professor Scarlet Frost."
"Professor Abraham Scott."
"Sasha Covington."
"Vasilisa West."
"Ozymandias Malkira."
"Kimaine James," I said quietly.
"Professor Adrian James."
"Auror Grobler." He looked like a former Quidditch player, if his muscles were anything to go by.
The Firefly seated next to the Auror removed his glamour. "I am Stellar." He was rather handsome, if not a touch too pale. He had long, straight dark auburn hair and bright green eyes. He politely nodded at the room in general.
Next to him, a quiet voice said, "I'm F.C." He also removed his glamour to reveal shoulder-length jetblack hair with a fringe hanging in his dark grey eyes. His pale skin made his eyes stand out beautifully. I recongised his voice as the one who constantly told the others to be careful about what they said since I could hear them. His eyes met mine suddenly, and I smiled weakly.
The beach-blonde girl smirked at the group and dipped her head in greeting. "I'm Wistful. Pleased to make your aquaintance."
Murmurs broke out at this, but the next Firefly spoke up over them. "I'm Mayfly." Her voice was playful and, with the snap of her fingers, the glamour faded away. Gorgeous elbow-length brown curls appeared, framing an oval shaped face. Dark lashes accentuated chocolate-coloured eyes.
I felt Malkira stiffen unexplainably next to me. I glanced at him and saw that his jaw was clenched and there was a swirl of confusion, shock and hurt in his eyes. However, before I could dwell further on his strange behaviour, the introductions went on.
A high voice happily chirrurped, "I'm Copy Cat Ken." Bright blonde hair, slightly tanned skin, sky blue eyes, and a wide grin. He looked to be ten yers old, much to the shock of everyone in the room.
"Samurai X," the slumping one said quitely. His glamour faded away. He was extremely pale. X was Japanese, looking to be around eighteen years old. He had dark caramel coloured hair and brown eyes. On his neck there was gauze wrapping. He noticed my stare and, scowling, lifted a hand to cover the wound.
The last one sighed a sigh of irritation. "Afrikaans," he said gruffly. His glamour faded away. My eyes widened at the sheer size of him – he couldn't be older than eighteen, yet he was extremely muscly. He had short, dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. I recongized him from numerous wizarding magazines – he was probably the number one duelist in the whole of South Africa who had disappeared off of the face of the eart about a year ago. Guess I now knew where he went.
"Please do excuse Afrikaans – and his name. He is not the most sociable wizard in the world." He shot a nasty glare at Wistful for her words. "What? It's true!"
"No need to be so boorish, Wistful," F.C. said pointedly.
Auror Grobler cleared his throat loudly. "This is not the time nor the place for this. We would like to hear your versions of the happenings of last night. We will now administer a modified version of the Truth Serum in the form of drinks. You will be able to only speak the truth, but you will be completely aware. Is this acceptable?"
After much grumbling, we had been dosed with the Serum.
There was a brief delay where Samurai X started complaining in Japanese, upon which Wistful snapped back at him and he quieted down. She also handed him a painkiller, which he promtly swallowed without any further fuss.
Auror Grobler turned to look at a worn out Sahsa. Her beatiful hair had been taken up in a messy bun, and she lacked the usual confidence she displayed. Her eyes appeared haunted. "Miss Covington, we shall start with you. Please state your full name, as well as the names and titles of both your parents," he said. The auror then took out a notebook as well as a Muggle pen, while Auror Fryer held on tightly to an ancient tape recorder, ready to capture our every word.
"Sasha 'Nix' Covington. Major General Frederick Covington is my father. Alana Covington is my mother." Her voice was dry and monotonous, but weirdly her eyes were bright and alert.
Huh, I guess they weren't kidding about us being completely aware.
"What happened in the few hours after your departure from this school last night?" he questioned.
"The Ravens went on a mission. It failed."
There was a round of snorts.
Auror Grobler paused to think this statement over. "Please use as many details as you are able to. Leave nothing out." He placed his pen to the notepad and watched her expectantly.
"Lefu Zorn, Ozymandias Malkira, Kimaine James, Kerri Alders and I, Sasha Covington, departed from Base at approximately midnight. We took a Portkey to the outskirts of the village named Hogsback. After that we…"
Without meaning to, my mind stared to drift. There wasn't a lot of time left before our joyrney into the past, where we will attempt to change life as we know it. It was going to be glorious.
But what if-
But what if the ritual failed? What would we do then? All the training, all the deaths would have been for naught. Kerri would have died in vain-
"I'm sorry, please repeat that?" Auror Grobler's stunned voice brought me back to the present.
"I imparted upon you that Emily Granger was in Hogsback. West and I saw her," Sasha uttered.
"Please explain exactly who she is, how she looks, what she was doing, and who she was with. Leave nothing out." There was an urgency in the Auror's voice that I was unable to understand. Auror Fryer looked equally anxious.
I was rather curious myself. Emily had saved my life all those years back, after all.
"Emily Granger is approximately twenty four years old. She is the younger sister of Hermione Riddle nee Granger. She played a rather important role in the last ten years of the war – she is the brains behind recruiting new Death Eaters, and slowly but surely corrupting South Africa. Emily was the one who came up with the ideas of Death Camps. She borrowed the idea from a Muggle named Adolf Hitler – a camp where Muggles and Muggleborns are placed, sometimes Half-bloods and Purebloods, too, depending on the situation. From what I have gathered, the young Granger girl was in Hogsback on a mission asssigned by her brother-in-law. She had to check up on the states of the Death Camps. She also had to deploy various High Social Standing witches to various provinces to start the Arranged Marriage process. Lastly, she had to meet with Lefu Zorn and Kimaine James. I suspect that she has to talk to Zorn about his allegiance to the Dark Lord."
What?
WHAT?
"Lefu Zorn is a traitor. I have waited until now to let everybody know. The fact that he hasn't fled is truly astounding," Vasilisa drawls. She shoots a nastly glare at Lefu for good measure. "It is also his fault that Kerri Alders was killed."
I felt my heart miss a beat and I immediately lifted my hand to my chest. It felt like someone was clutching my heart in a iron grip, twisting it around ever so slowly.
Betrayal was a bitter feeling.
One of my closest friends had indirectly killed my best friend.
In some twisted way I viewed Lefu as my brother.
He indirectly killed Kerri. He, in essence, killed me.
"How about you hear the full story before judging," Lefu said loudly over the uproar that Vasilisa's words have caused. "You do not know everything."
All the Professors and both Aurors had their wands trained on Lefu, who seemed eerily calm given the situation.
"Explain," my brother said tightly, "Explain what they are talking about, Lefu. Explain from the beginning."
"It started in July 2007…the day that Kimaine and her two friends were kidnapped. Adrian was in an urgent Auror meeting and had yet to do anything about the missing kids, so I decided to do something about it. I entered the forest and looked for the clearing I knew Kimaine liked to relax in. I figured that I may find some clues. After just a few minutes, I heard the crack of Apparation. A beautiful woman appeared before me. She smiled at me and asked if I was looking for my friends. She knew without me saying a word that Kimaine was my best friend, and that it was my duty to protect her. I was side-along Apparated to a house in an unknown location. Inside I met with Lord and Lady Riddle. They asked me what I was willing to do to protect Kimaine. I told them I would do anything."
My heart was racing, thumping loudly in my ears. I couldn't believe…what was happening?!
"I agreed to become a follower of the Dark Lord."
"Are you Marked?" Auror Fryer asked probed before he could continue.
"Yes, but not in the traditional way."
"How are you Marked, then?"
"It is one of my earrings. It is cursed in a way that ensures that I do not remove it."
"Tell us more about the deal you made," Grobler quizzed.
"I exchanged my loyalty for Kimaine's life. If I had not agreed, they would have killed both of us. I had thought that, in given time, I could go to Adrian and beg his help to rid me of the Dark Lord's influence. However, like she read my mind, Lady Riddle explained that they have counter-measures for that. They placed a curse on Kimaine – I saw them do it. With a certain phrase and wand movement, they could inflict the Dark Lord's modified Crucio onto her, no matter how far away they are from each other. They said that if I even thought about betraying them or telling anyone about this, they would torture her into insanity so that she would be nothing more than a vegetable. I cared too much about her to ever let that happen. So I swore allegiance to the Dark Lord and all that he stands for."
"Did you kill in their names?" Fryer demanded.
"Yes."
"At what age was your first kill?" Grobler inquired, repulsion clear in his tone.
"Twelve."
"Why?" It was my brother.
Lefu's knuckles tightened – the first reaction I've seen from him in all this time. "Look, I did what I had to do. I was only trying to do what was best for your sister. The Dark Lord promised me her life in exchange for my unwavering loyalty. I did what I had to do to save Kimaine's life. Any argument you will ever be able to put forward will be invalid. I did it for her protection and nothing else. Protecting her has always been my top priority."
"How many did you kill with these thoughts in mid, Lefu Zorn?" Grobler probed with a certain edge to his voice.
Lefu met his eyes directly. "I have killed too many for ten lifetimes over, Auror Grobler. I have comitted unspeakabe crimes to insure Kimaine's safety, and to prove my loyalty. It had to be done."
"Do you regret any of there crimes and murders?"
"No, I do not regret murdering people."
"Not one?"
"Not a single one."
With those words, it seemed that Lefu had cemented his fate. While Auror Fryer placed Magic Blockage handcuffs on the large African, Auror Grobler read him his rights. When he was done, he called one of the lower level aurors from outside of the room to escort Lefu to the Ministry. They were gone immediately.
The rest of the interrogations passed by in a cloudy haze. I barely got the gist of what had happened.
The Prophecy girl and her brother were dead. They girl had had her body ripped in half by Greyback, and Vasilisa and Sasha had borne witness to it.
Many Death Eaters had been killed. Vasilisa showed no remorse, claiming that it had happened in battle. A test on her wand proved that not a single Killing Curse had been casted, so she was reluctantly let go by the Aurors.
Sasha admitted that Emily had been struck down by a Blasting Curse and she was unsure whether Granger survived it or not.
Vasilisa revealed that one of the Death Camps had been hit with Fiendyfire and the whole place had been burnt to the ground with the men inside.
I reaccounted that I had helped kill someone who had tried to kill me. I reaccounted each and every death that happened.
I explained how I had awoken and met Balthazar, who I later recognised as my original kidnapper. How his sister came and brought Kerri along. How they killed Kerri, and how I had been overcome by grief and fury and hollowness. I explained that my magic had lashed out, and that was all I remembered.
The Fireflies were questioned in another room. They did not want to reveal their secrets to the Ravens. However the Aurors seemed to nearly hero-worship them when it was over.
We were dismissed shortly after that.
I felt numb.
Rumours about the death of Kerri spread through the school faster than a bad case of Dragonpox. Some of the theories were so outrageous that I would have laughed if it hadn't involved the death of my dearest friend.
Nobody was willing to share the truth of what had happened.
People dismissed Lefu's absense as grieving, however that made the student body question what the hell is wrong with Kimaine James? Why isn't she hiding away to mourn the death of two of her friends? Oh, NOW she's hiding away! Why wouldn't she speak to anyone? Does she think she's better than us now?
Malkira had gone back to the Middle East for a short break, under the guise of family matters he needed to attend to. I strongly suspected, however, that he wanted to hide from that Mayfly girl. They obviously had some bad history. It was kind of humerous – I had thought that Ozymandias feared nothing, but it turned out he feared a fricking girl. How…disheartening.
Sasha retreated to the Library to our own little Restricted Section, where she read about Grindewald's war. She projected an aura to everyone else that she wanted to be left alone. Not even Dominic Orsino, who I suspected to be her best friend (if not boyfriend) managed to come within five feet of her.
Vasilisa had gone to Cape Town for a brief visit to her family. She had left me a short note explaining that it was to do with familial matters and that she would see me on Wednesday.
And me? I was sitting in our little clearing – the one that Kerri and I would always sit in. This clearing was filled with so many memories, both good and bad, and it was extreme torture to be constantly reminded of a friend that I no longer had…but I prefered the pain than losing myself in some mundane thing. The pain reminded me that it was real; that I had a best friend, one with whom I had wonderful memories, but that she had been killed right in front of me.
She died for me.
And I missed her terribly.
Kerri left a hollowness in my chest; a wound that I doubted would ever heal.
And I was sort of okay with that.
Saturday 28 June
Kerri's funeral was beautiful, yet it did not justify her. The stiffness of her Pureblood parents ensured that her friends – those of us who truly cared for her – could not completely show our sorrow, nor could we share our stories, our memories of the fiery girl we had known.
We were restricted at the funeral of a wild girl. It was not supposed to be that way.
I wished that we could do more.
But then again, at least we were allowed to attend.
A selfish part of me bemoaned the fact that I was alone at her funeral – I was surrounded by wizards and witches of all shapes and sizes, yet I was completely and utterly alone. I was filled with self-pity. Adrian didn't attend. Lefu was in a holding cell until his hearing next week. Vasilisa refused, as had Sasha and every other Raven.
I was alone. I did not know Kerri's friends from overseas.
I only knew myself.
And I hated myself for this embarrassing self-pity.
I was better than this.
She deserved better than this.
Sunday 10 August
"Being so melancholy all the time is damaging to your health, Kimaine." The slight Australian accent sent a pang into my heart. His accent never ceased to make me feel better.
I sighed, glanced sideways and met Dominic Orsino's worried blue eyes. I noticed that his blonde hair was longer than ever, giving him a slightly shaggy appearance. "What are you doing here, Dom? Shouldn't you be with Sasha?"
"Nix is training with that Dark Arts professor. He's teaching her all the counters." Dom pulled a face that let me know exactly what he thought of this development. "I could have taught her everything she needs to know."
I allowed a small smile at that. I had met Dom on the Thursday after the whole failed mission, and I've known him for three weeks now. If I was honest with myself – if I had not met Dominic, I would have hit rock bottom with my depression long ago. I owed him a lot.
"I've noticed that other guy staring at you," he said casually, with a playful smile on his lips.
I was confused, however. "What guy, Dom? Are you drunk? Guys don't stare at me."
"Stellar is not a normal guy…and guys do stare, Kim, you just don't deem them important enough to notice."
I frowned at the slight jab, though my thoughts stayed locked onto Stellar. "You mean that Firefly dude keeps staring at me? Why would he? Do you think he's some creeper?" I was actually starting to feel concerned for my wellbeing.
"Stop being so…melodramatic," Dom chuckled. "He probably thinks you're pretty. And don't argue with me."
"Guys don't like girls with black hair," I reminded him. "They prefer blondes or brunettes."
"You'd be surprised, Kim," Dom said with a gentle smile.
Feeling my cheeks start to heat, I brush my hair behind my ears and clear my throat. "Um, I think it's going to rain soon."
Wow, I'm an idiot.
"Yeah… What is the last you heard of your friend Lefu's trail?"
Exactly what I did not want him to ask.
I did not want to think about him.
Especially about the fact that his trial had been postphoned until Monday, 11 August…which was tomorrow.
"His trial will be nine a.m. tomorrow," I said carefully. "During our Dark Arts class."
Dom seemed to realise that I was in no mood to talk about it. He nodded and pulled out his wand. I watched as he twirled the wand around slowly, a look of concentration on his face. After a few seconds, a flower appeared in the soft wet grass at his feet. He picked it and, with a small smile, offered it to me.
My heart warmed. Dominic truly is an amazing guy.
"Dude, come on. Your brother wants to see you." It had to be the tenth time in the last half an hour that Cornith Cook had said those exact words to me.
And it wsa irritating as hell.
"Tell Professor James that I'm busy." I flipped the page of the MetalWizards magazine and looked at the newest bands. There was one in particular that I liked – the bassist was hot as hell.
The raven-haired girl snorted rudely. "Oh, with what, exactly? Drooling over some dudes in make-up?" Corninth shook her head condescendingly. "Your brother isn't stupid, James. He knows you're avoiding him. Now go. I've already wasted like half an hour of my life on you."
"Why does he want to see me at five on a Sunday?" I grumbled as I reluctantly stood up. I thrust the magazine into Cornith's hands. "There, go find yourself some music sense."
I ignored her indignant spluttering as I walked out of the ladies' common room. I walked until I found the spot where I remembered Adrian using as a secret passageway, and followed it until I reached his office. I knocked on his door twice.
"Come in, Kimaine," he called.
I pushed open the door, ready to talk my way out of a confrontation, only to stop short when I saw how full his office was.
The two Aurors from last time were inside, as well as Wistful, Samurai X (who had been turned into a Werewolf, mind you), and Stellar.
Oh, and our Minister of Magic. Minister Thabang Naas was a tall and well-built African who was in his late fifties. His head was shaved clean.
All eyes were immediately on me.
"What's going on, Adrian?" I asked after closing the door behind me.
The weary looks on their faces told me that I wasn't going to like it.
"Don't be upset, Kimaine. It's not our fault, you know that."
I ignored him and continued packing. What would I need? Underwear, boots, a pair of skinny jeans, tank tops…
"If I had way of stopping this-"
"You still wouldn't do anything about it," I interrupted. I threw in two pairs of warm socks, as well as a formal black dress and matching silver formal robes.
"What would you have me do, Kimaine?" Adrian's voice as filled with a desperation I was unfamiliar with. "I can't just ignore them, you know I can't."
I stopped packing and turned around to face Adrian with my arms crossed over my chest. "You could have told them no."
"You knew that you were going to be summoned by Emily Granger sooner or later, Kimaine. She probably just wants to see you."
"See me and match me up with my future husband. Brilliant, brother. Of course I want to get married at such a young age."
In the last week or so, Emily Granger had started arranging the places where evaluations would take place, as well as the matching up. Seems like she had finally arranged the Eastern Cape, and that I was first to be evaluated.
"I do not know why she spesifically asked for you, Kimaine. She probably just wants to see you before anyone else. And, why exactly are you packing? You will be there for an hour – two at the most."
Wow, it sure took him a long time to catch on. "I'm going to stay with the Fireflies for a few days."
"You can't just leave in the middle of school, Kimaine. We barely know the Fireflies."
I shrugged and zipped up my feather-light duffle bag. "I don't care. Wistful extended me an invitation, and it's not an opportunity I would like to pass up. I'll see you by the end of the week, Adrian."
Adrian clearly wanted to argue, but I activated my specially made Portkey (courtesy of Dominic) and landed at a little villiage an hour outside of our school. With a grimace, I Apparated to one of the places I hated the most.
East London.
Where I was to meet up with Emily Granger for reasons I do not know.
