Jane sprinted after Maura, realizing that standing there and watching the love of her life run away from her was not the best idea all things considered. The mob will be after her, Frost will want her, and the police will want her. There was only one way that Jane could think of was to ensure that Maura remained safe. No matter how low Maura was in her actions, she wouldn't be safe.
She had to be gone.
"Maura!" Jane called out, placing a hand on the woman's shoulder, "do you not realize how dangerous it is for you? Everyone will be out looking for you. You aren't safe! Please, just stay with Korsak, it's –"
"No! I need to see Barry!" Maura retaliated.
"Maur, if you go in that hospital, everyone will know you're still alive. And you'll become a target. They know how to get to Frost. Through you. Please Maura. Please just do it for me." Jane begged.
"Oh? And why should I do it for you, of all people? You constantly throw me aside, you don't consider how your actions affect me, and I don't think you even care about me sometimes."
Jane was silent, some of what Maura said was true. "Damn it Maura! I love you!" Jane admitted, "I don't know if you feel the same anymore, but don't you see that I'm doing this for a safer place for you, everything I do is for you. I couldn't live without you Maura."
They stood in silence as Maura took in this information. Jane stared at the ground while Maura looked at the dark mask that covered the majority of Jane's face except her mouth. What felt like a natural movement, Maura leaned in and kissed Jane, "I'll always love you. I couldn't live without you either. I'll go to Vince's apartment now." Jane nodded.
"Ok, let's go."
At Korsak's apartment.
Jane came out of the shower and walked into the room with Maura and Korsak sitting in the living room, watching the TV intensely. Jane walked round the sofa and sat next to Maura.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we regret to inform you that we have just been sent a message from the joker that she requested we air right now. Beware that there is a high chance that some viewers may find the following scene disturbing.
… The camera changed onto a screen that showed the joker sitting in a chair with a light above her.
"Hello fellas, it turns out that even Boston's white knight can be vulnerable due to an awkward incident involving some gasoline. So I was told. But if this batman doesn't come forward with their true identity. I blow up a hospital. In fact, I'm probably half way through planting some c-four. Better hurry Batsie!"
… The film ended and the camera switched back to the host "I've just been informed that Boston's finest are doing their very best to evacuate every hospital in Boston."
"She's going to blow up the hospital Frost is at," Jane said out loud quickly getting ready into her suit.
Boston hospital north wing
A Boston police officer continued to check down the hall to inform the nurse that it was time to move the last patient, noting the back of the red headed nurse he stopped walking. "Excuse me mam, we're gonna have to- Eugh!" The sound of silenced bullets shot straight through the police officer.
Frost jumped up from his bed, was restrained by the belts across him.
"What the hell?!" He called out.
Removing the nurse mask, the joker awkwardly removed the wig and sat down. With a creepy smile she looked at Frost.
"Hi."
