Chapter 10
Hearbreak
~Gray~
"Gray, would you like to go out with me?" Juvia stammered.
"Heck, no!" Gray yelled,"You're crazy annoying!"
Juvia's eyes filled with tears. "Just when I finally get enough courage to ask you out, you reject me! Stupid Gray!"
She ran out of his dorm room sobbing. For some reason it made him sad. He had made her cry. He wasn't going to go after her or anything, for that would create false hope, and that would just make things worse.
~Lisanna~
Lisanna gave a relieved sigh when she saw Natsu. He must have seen her because he was running towards her. "Natsu!" she called out. He stopped and she noticed he was staring right into her eyes.
"Lisanna…"
"Natsu, I think this girl needs help."
Natsu looked down, noticing Lucy for the first time. Concern replaced the happiness he had just felt. "Is Lucy okay?"
"I don't know," she confessed, "but she said she was friends with you."
"Yeah," Natsu said, "This is her second year at the guild."
"Two years?" Lisanna was confused. "Wouldn't I have met her by then? I know everyone in the guild."
"Lisanna," Natsu began, "you've been dead for three years."
~Juvia~
"Stupid, stupid Gray!" Juvia yelled as she ran back to her dorm. She threw herself on her bed and began to sob. She felt as if she could melt into her bed spread and disappear.
~Wendy~
Wendy set by her bedroom window, wondering when Jellal would come back. He might not have been the one to save her, but he was still important to her. He was kind, sweet, and she could very well understand why Erza cared for him as much as she did. She also wondered if he was born with that strange mark on his face or if it was a symbol or something he got. Mistgun had the same mark and he was Jellal's Edolas counterpart, so she assumed he was born with it.
She also had another question: where did Jellal and Erza go? Master wouldn't tell anyone, so it must either be really important or a surprise. Maybe they were going on a special quest together. Wendy wished she would've been able to go with them. Or maybe they were going for some special time together. They were childhood friends, afterall. Or maybe-
"Buuuuuuuuurp!"
"Gross!" Charle commented, "Why do you have to make such gross noises, Happy!"
"I was only showing thanks for all that delicious fish you got me," Happy replied.
"Honestly, I don't understand how you could like fish. It's so slimy and gross!"
"It's yummy!" Happy burped again.
"Happy, how many times have I told you not to make grotesque sounds at the table?"
"I'm a boy," Happy stated, "Aren't they supposed to make those sounds at the table?"
"No!" Charle shouted. "I hope that a miracle happens and Natsu comes back because I cannot stand another moment with you! You are gross, dirty, and have absolutely no manners!"
Charle and Happy had interrupted her thoughts, once again. Charle was always commenting on his behavior and going on about how he should act properly. It's not that it was annoying, because it wasn't. Charle and Happy grew up learning two totally different lifestyles. So it was understandable that Charle would act this way.
The two continued to bicker until Charle decided it she could stand it no more and left. A few moments later the door burst open and levy ran into the room. She looked angry and her eyes were bloodshot from crying.
"If Gajeel comes around, tell him I'm not here!" And with that, she went into the other room and hid.
A few moments later Gajeel knocked on the door. Wendy opened it. "Hello," She greeted him.
"Ah, hello Wendy, have you seen Bookworm by any chance?"
"My name is not Bookworm!" Levy called from the other room.
"So she is here with you," Gajeel concluded. "Do you know why she is so mad? All I did was play her a song I wrote!" Gajeel dragged Wendy into the hallway. "You want to hear it?" He pulled his guitar off his back and began singing.
"I have some friends
Sha-de-do-ba
they are really awesome
sha-de-do-ba
Mira can sing too
Sha-de-do-ba
And reminds me of my ma
Sha-de-do-ba
Natsu and Wendy are cool
Sha-de-do-ba
They have flying cats
Sha-de-do-ba
I want one too
Sha-de-do-ba
Bookworm makes me food
Sha-de-do-ba
It's really good
Sha-de-do-ba
Yeah."
Wendy had never heard such horrible singing in her life, but she didn't want to tell Gajeel that. It would be too mean. "It was… um, very nice…" Wendy told him, "Keep up the good work!"
"Will Bookworm be alright?" Gajeel asked Wendy.
"She will be fine," Wendy assured him. "I'll talk to her."
~Loki~
Lucy was still unconscious and Loki was beginning to get concerned. Would she ever wake up? How could he live without her in his life? He was totally devoted to her. He was going to stay with her until she woke up; if she woke up.
~Natsu~
Natsu was enjoying his time with Lisanna. He was glad to have her to himself even if it was only a short walk back to the guild to let everyone know their whereabouts; having left Lucy back in the cave with Loki and all.
"Lisanna?" Nastu asked.
But she wasn't paying attention to him, she was staring at the Lady running toward them, waving her arms, trying to get their attention.
"Do you know this person, Natsu?" Lisanna asked.
"No." he replied, "I've never seen her before in my life."
"Nastu!" the lady called. She ran up to him and gave him a tight hug. "Oh my, look how much you have grown!"
Natsu pushed her away, but disturbed and surprised. "Who are you?!"
"Oh, Natsu, you really don't remember?" She asked. "I'm your mother."
Sorry I am a day late. Someone from my family died and my dad dragged me along so I could meet my extended family. Dead people are creepy.
Anyways, thank you: guest, lolperson2, Xilentblade1125, Adorable Reader, melosic, and AshK1980 for reviewing. Your reviews are well appreciated. I love to know what people think of my story/writing.
I promise to be on time next week. With lots of love,
