Chapter 12

I Love…

~Loki~

After waiting a majority of the day, Loki saw Lucy's body move, not much, but just enough to tell him that she was slowly, but surely waking up.

~Erza~

"Look, I know that we still have a long way to go and it wouldn't be very wise, but could we stop here tonight?" Jellal asked.

Erza stopped and pondered for a bit, probably thinking about how it would affect them. "Sure." She said.

"Good," Jellal told her. "I have something to give to you tonight."

They turned down a little dirt road that led to a small hotel. While Erza went to secure a room for the night, Jellal drove the little wagon they were renting into a small parking spot. He then climbed out and went to the back to grab two small bags that had their overnight items in them.

Jellal patted his pocket, which had Erza's necklace in it, as he walked up to the main entrance. As planned, he would give Erza her Necklace tonight. He would make it romantic.

~Gray~

"You know, Juvia," Gray said as he put away the last of the gardening tools, "Just because we aren't dating, it doesn't mean we can't go out."

"Like a date?" Juvia asked.

"More like an outing." Gray corrected.

"Oh." Juvia said. "But we can still have fun, right? Like we had today."

Gray nodded his head. He stood up, and brushed off his pants. "Race you back to the guild!" he yelled. Within seconds he was far ahead of Juvia. "Ha ha, you're too slow," He said as turned his head back to see how far behind she was. That's when she slipped and fell.

"aaah!" She screamed as she fell in a puddle of cold, wet mud.

Gray stopped running and walked back over to Juvia and helped her up. Her clothes were completely brown and covered in mud. Juvia couldn't go back to the guild like that, especially when they were about to head back out of the force field around his garden that blocked all harsh weather, where it was snowing. They could stop by the girl's dorm, but that was too far away. The boy's dorm way only a block or two away; a very short distance compared to the long trek to the girl's dorm. "Juvia, why don't we stop by my dorm first?" Gray suggested. "You could take a nice hot shower there, and while I get your clothes washed, you could wear something of mine."

Juvia's eyes lit up. "Okay," She said, smiling happily.

It didn't take long to convince Juvia to get in the shower. Gray could hear her lightly humming to a tune he had never heard of before. It was slow and calming, like something someone would sing to their love.

Love. Gray thought about what had happened earlier that day. Juvia had been happy, just by the fact that he cared about her, even though he wasn't able to requite her feelings. Just what was love anyway? He had never really thought about it before. What was it that made people act so stupid? He would never know. He hadn't loved anyone before and couldn't really see loving anyone in the future. But, perhaps, if he did ever love someone, would it be Juvia? Gray shook his head, ridding the thought from his brain. He needed to be getting Juvia a change of clothes.

Gray looked through is clothes chest, which was actually pretty neat considering the fact that the rest of his bedroom was a complete mess. He couldn't have Juvia stay in here while she changed. He quickly cleaned the room and he even made his bed. And by the time Juvia was out of the shower, Gray had cleaned his entire dorm and laid out an old pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Yes, Gray actually had a shirt. He was surprised to know that he actually had one. It might be the only one, but he still had one.

While she changed, Gray went to the kitchen and made Juvia a mug of hot chocolate. He slowly carried it to his room and knocked on the door. "Juvia, are you finished getting dressed? I brought you some hot chocolate!"

"Um. Kind of…" Juvia replied, "I can't get the shorts to stay on."

"What? Are they too small?" They had been his smallest pair. He couldn't really wear them anymore.

"No, they are too big!"

"Oh," That was a problem. What else was there for her to wear?

"But it's okay, the shirt is so long that it goes down to my knees! Like a dress!" she exclaimed.

"So," Gray said, getting tired of having to talk through a door. "Do you still want your hot chocolate?"

"Oh, yes please! I love hot chocolate!" Juvia said as she opened the door.

Gray gave her the mug and headed back to the bathroom. "You stay in my room, I'm going to take a shower."

About twenty minutes later, after getting out of the shower, Gray walked to his room to get pants. When he entered, he saw Juvia, asleep on his bed. It had been the first time in a while that he has seen her sleeping. She looked cute, sweet, and innocent, like an angel. The mug of hot chocolate was half drunk, though still warm and giving off steam.

He quickly put something on and went near his bed to look at Juvia again. Everyone said that people look younger when they were sleeping. It must have been true because Juvia looked about fifteen or sixteen, not nineteen, about to turn twenty.

Not only did she look younger, but more beautiful, and a little cold. Gray grabbed a blanket from his closet and put it over her.

"Gray," He heard her whisper.

"Yeah?" He said back. She didn't reply. She must have been talking in her sleep. He turned to leave the room when she whispered something again.

"Your pants…"

Gray looked down. Where did his pants go? He looked back at his clothes chest and realized he had never even put them on. He had been too focused on Juvia that he had only put on a pair of boxers. Whatever, he walked around in boxers all the time. No one cared.

He turned again to walk out the door when Juvia whispered, "I love you… Gray Fullbuster…"

~Lisanna~

Lisanna couldn't believe what she had heard. Natsu was a dragon, and if that wasn't enough, the grandson of Julius Dragon. She couldn't imagine how Natsu felt, though he was still sitting in the restaurant in awe, so she could imagine that he was still pretty amazed.

"Lisanna, do you mind if I go back to the guild with you and Natsu?" Elina asked.

"No, I don't mind at all!" Lisanna exclaimed.

"Well, we will need to be going soon, I would like to talk to Master Marakov about having permission to take Natsu away for those six months. I know that he is a pretty important guild member."

"Oh, yes, and we need to go tell everyone about Lucy and Loki." Then she remembered. "Oh, no, Natsu! Lucy and Loki have probably been waiting for hours! We need to go right away!"

"Okay, I guess," He replied, still in a daze.

Did he not care about Lucy? Wasn't she his girlfriend? They seemed pretty close, so she had assumed. She had to admit that she was a little jealous of Lucy, but she had been dead for three years and Natsu had probably moved on.

"Natsu!" Lisanna yelled. "Don't you care about your girlfriend? She is wounded in a cave in the field. Could you possibly be more heartless?"

"Girlfriend? You think Lucy is my girlfriend?!" Natsu yelled, looking pained. "Why would Lucy ever possibly be my girlfriend? Ever since that day, when we made that promise to get married, I have thought of you. You, Lisanna are the only person who can fill my heart. Your smile makes my heart jump. The way you laugh, the way you make me feel is no equivalent to the way any other person makes me feel. Lisanna, I loved you then, I love you now, and I always will." He grabbed her and hugged her tightly. "Lisanna, I love you."

~Jellal~

Jellal was really getting excited about tonight. He couldn't wait to see Erza's smiling faced when she saw the necklace. He had taken a shower and fixed himself up for a romantic candle light dinner. He checked himself in the bathroom mirror. His hair was okay. He didn't really know how to fix it anyway. His clothes were nicely ironed and had no stains. His shoes were nice and shiny, but his tie wasn't right. He didn't know how to tie a tie, even though the lady in the washroom, where he had gone to get his suit washed, had shown him. After attempting several times, he still couldn't get it right. He decided to take off the tie.

He walked out of the bathroom saying, "Erza, guess what I have planned tonight?"

"A whole night of action packed films!" Erza shouted holding up a bunch of DVDs. She was in her pajamas and looked like she was ready for a slumber party rather than a candlelight dinner. "Hey wait, why are you all dressed up?"

"Oh, these? I thought I was wearing pajamas. I'll get changed right away!" Jellal went back into the bathroom. His plan was ruined. He could probably do it tomorrow night though, so it wasn't a really big deal. Erza wanted to relax and he understood that. Besides, he liked action movies and you couldn't find TVs in Magnolia. They were expensive. After getting on his pajamas and hiding the necklace, Jellal headed back out of the bathroom. Erza was waiting, sitting on her bed and eating popcorn.

"Hurry up! The first movie is about to start!" She passed him a bowl of popcorn and continued to eat her own.

"Okay," Jellal didn't know what else to say.

They watched the movies, one by one, and with each movie, Jellal felt Erza getting closer and closer to him. By the time the last movie had started, Erza was sitting right beside him, practically cuddling with his arm. It was a little bold for Erza but he liked it so it didn't really matter. What happened next was the most unexpected of all. As the movie ended, Erza wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips against his. They were warm and soft and better than anything he could have ever imagined. When she pulled back, she whispered in his ear: "I love you, Jellal."

~Loki~

Though Lucy had shown signs of waking up, she still hadn't woken up. Loki was getting concerned. First she was in a coma for a month and now she was unconscious again, one day after she had woken up. Was this going to be a regular thing? He hoped not. He also hoped that she would wake up soon. "Don't leave me Lucy, please wake up. You are my love and my life; I wouldn't know what to do if you died! Lucy, I Love you."
