Hi! I'm back and here to stay! Thank you to all of you who favorite, review and/or PM me to come back! I love you all and here is a new chapter of A snowflake's Rose! Comment and review after you finished reading!
The ride to vampire territory was painfully silent to say the least for everyone.
Butch was glaring at the window with new bumps on his head, and a red scratch mark on his cheek in all its glory. Not to mention the bite marks on his shoulder and a bruise on his leg where his dear 'fiancée' kicked him when he shoved her in the carriage.
Buttercup hadn't escaped untouched like she's use to when people tried to pick a fight with her. Her waist was sore from where Butch had pulled her away from the door, her hair was messy and her arms where a little bruised from when Butch had to shove her into the carriage. She didn't look so cheery either. To make matters worse, her doorknob had a dent on it!
Her poor doorknob, it was so young!
Brick seemed calm, for the most part but wasn't sure how to react with their whole 'fiancé' business; he doesn't even remember his 'fiancée's name! What the moment, she only seemed to be staring at him through blank eyes. He made it clear that he knew that she was staring at him by waving hello, but that didn't waver her solid expression at all. In fact, even though she's staring, she didn't seem interested in him at all; it was as if she was watching paint dry on a wall.
Blossom knew that this was only temporary and becoming allies with the vampire clan could be very useful in the future. However, no matter how much she tried to reason with herself logically that this was a good idea; she still couldn't stop herself from being annoyed about the situation.
The day started out fine, good even, but by this afternoon, she and her sisters were sucked into a civil war between the vampire clan and the unknown shadow walkers. Not exactly where she pictures herself being part of when she's only 17.
Boomer seemed to understand how everyone was feeling. Butch and his fiancée were anger hot heads, Brick probably felt a headache coming -he never been good with girls after all- and his fiancée had a great poker face so it took him a while to realize that she was annoyed about the whole thing.
As for him, he wasn't that upset. They all knew that it just temporary so they can't do all the things real fiancés do together, which was fine! Nevertheless, he kind of felt bad looking at his heavily dressed and decorated 'fiancée'. She looked scared out of her mind!
Bubbles was on edge. She wasn't mentally prepared to leave her home. If Buttercup hadn't caused a scene and gripped onto the doorknob of the home they grew up in for a good chunk of their life, she certainly would have. To make matters worse, SHE FORGOT OCTI! What if they don't pack him with the rest of her things? What if a vampire dog got him? NO! Octi is too classy to be raped by a vampire dog!
"Hey,"
Bubbles glanced up for the first time since getting into the carriage to see a gentle face leaning towards her, whispering.
She moved her hair behind her ear shyly and leaned in too, to hear his whispers clearer.
"Y-yes?" Adorable Bubbles whispered out nervously. If she had to confess it, she was glad to be paired up with Boomer, even though she forgot his name. She knew it was temporary but it felt a little more at ease that her 'fiancé' didn't look mean or strict like his brothers but looked very nice!
"You must be a little on edge about all this," he whispered. "But it's ok. I've been raised to be a gentlemen so you don't need to worry about me, um, you know, 'doing stuff' that you don't like. Ok?"
She nodded.
"I'm glad," she whispered. "I guess my sisters and I are a little on edge because we never went aboard before."
"Never?"
"Nope," Bubbles shook her head. "Yuki-Onna territory is really big. So we never had to go anywhere outside our ruling area."
"Now I can see why you're so tense." Boomer whispered back. "Don't worry, stick with me, malady, and I will show you a good time during you time abroad! My name is Boomer by the way."
"I'm Bubbles."
"What are you blondes talking about?" Buttercup cut in, looking suspiciously at the pair whom the only ones were talking. The carriage isn't exactly spacious enough to fit six people and their personal space, so it was noticed when the two started whispering together like middle-aged gossiping women.
"Nothing!" Bubbles yelped, and sat straight up. Of course, her sisters didn't believe her and Boomer's was looking at their brother suspiciously.
"We were just talking," Bubbles insisted. "I mean, ok we're all either annoyed or nervous or confused about the whole situation. It would really be helpful that we all talk it out. Just to clear things up."
"That's a good idea," Brick chipped in. "However, I don't think we'll be able to help you girls understand what's going on since we are barely grasping it ourselves. We weren't aware that anything was wrong until an hour ago."
"Alright then tell us what you do know." Buttercup joined in. "Listen, I hate depending on strangers, but my sisters and I are now your bodyguards, like it or not, disguised as your fiancées too. However, in order to make this work, you're going have to cooperate with us. We're going to protect you guys but we need more information than we have to do our job correctly."
"Don't make us out as weaklings." Butch hissed, obviously still in a bad mood. "We're not weak as you guys make us out to be. Our clan has super strength on our side; we could crush skulls between our fingers if we wanted to."
"And that is the only difference between your clan and the rest if the vampire population." Blossom pointed out as she pulled out a notebook from one of the many folds of her kimono. "But you lack skills. Vampires have lighter bone mass and tougher muscles and skin tissue. I'm surprised Buttercup managed to rip the skin of your cheeks earlier." She was looking at Butch, mirroring the placement of the scratch as if it was in her face.
"What about it?" Butch asked rather impatiently. He didn't like the fact that his claw mark was singled out.
"Don't sulk, it'll heal quickly considering vampires antibodies and white blood cells are quick to do their jobs." Blossom said, reading her notebook. "The main reason Buttercup was able to scratch you is because she had Yuki-Onna strength plus her military, and martial arts training she received as a child."
"What's she's trying to say is yes, you are strong but that won't be enough anymore." Bubbles summarized it. She glanced over Blossom's shoulder and saw that she had a notebook full of notes about the vampire race. She wasn't surprised. Blossom has a notebook for almost every race of monster plus a notebook about humans.
"You guys have potential since birth apparently." Buttercup pointed out. "But if your dad didn't think it was enough that he had to hire a Yuki-Onna as your bodyguard, then he realizes that you guys are in danger."
"Well that's a real downer, isn't it?" Boomer chuckled nervously.
"Don't worry, we can protect you." Bubbles reassured him. The guys didn't feel that much relieved. These girls didn't look very strong to begin with after all.
"Do guys know anything about these shadow walker guys?" Brick asked.
"No," Bubbles answered. "At least, I didn't. Blossom have you?"
"No, I only know what Mother told us about them."
"Well if you have been paying attention," Buttercup chipped in. "We recently have been receiving gifts and letters asking for our clan to join them in their fight between them and the vampire race."
"What!?" Butch exclaimed. "If they tried to recruiting your clan so that means they tried to recruit others too."
"Then we're in trouble. If things go wrong, we'll have a world war 3 in her hands."
"That's and 'IF' statement."
"Got a plan?"
"Well duh. We're two powerful clans so combining our military forces; we have a strong offense and defense."
"But that should only be put to use if we can't be helped."
"Of course."
"So we need establish strong allies now, sending good words out there to destroy the vampire people's bad reputation."
"Hold up!" Blossom cut in. "Are you two... Getting along?"
"I think they are." Brick chipped in.
"They hated each other since minute one." Boomer stated.
"I'm so happy they found they're equal! When should I be expecting my first niece or nephew?" Bubbles teased.
"SHUT UP!" The second-in-command paired yelled in complete unison.
"We're not getting along!"
"Not at all!"
"She's crazy!"
"He's a brute!"
"Who are you calling a brute?"
"You! You dented my precious doorknob!"
"You were hitting me with it!"
"Sorry to interrupt." The carriage driving voiced sounded through the speaker on the ceiling. "It would seem that the palace is closed at the moment, preparing for the young princes birthday party. Is there anywhere else you would like to go before then?"
"Well," Brick said, thinking. "Since it's you guys' first time in Vampire territory, you can choose. Consider it a peace offering."
The girls seemed interested at the offer. They looked at each other with similar Cheshire cat grins, the same idea bouncing in their minds.
"Driver," Bubbles said as she pressed the button to talk. "Take us to the beach!"
I know it short (I mean come on, five pages aren't enough!) but please comment and review!
