It's Friday so that means, Update Day! Every Friday I will attempt to update one of my fanfics so today I shall update this one! I made it longer than the last one too! Comment and review after reading!
At first, the girls were excited, bouncing of the walls, loud as ever and just overjoyed that they can finally get to go to a real beach. Well until it started getting warmer the closer they got to Vampire territory. It was as if they were stuffed into an oven!
"If it's gets any warmer, I'm going to melt." Buttercup muttered. At some point, she stretched her body over her sisters' laps, no longer caring that she was in front of strangers.
"Are you kidding me?" Butch snorted. "It's great that's it's finally getting warmer. Yuki-Onna territory was freezing! How can you three live there?"
"We have ice powers," Bubbles explained. "I'm pretty sure we can handle a bit of freezing weather."
The girls felt like they were melting, it wasn't hot enough to make them sweat but the transition from freezing, way below zero weather to moderately warm but still chilly was enough to make their insides turn to goop.
If that was not enough, they were wearing big, heavy, multi-layered kimonos. Even if you try to rip those off, you won't get far because of all the knots and folds.
"Hey blonde," Buttercup muttered, glaring from her little sister's lap. "You're stepping on my hair."
"Oh sorry," Boomer apologized quickly and lifted his foot oh her black hair.
"Have you ever heard if a haircut?" Butch asked, annoyed. Since Buttercup was laying down, her long black hair literally coated the ground.
"Yes I have. Have you ever heard of manners?" Buttercup muttered back, not having enough energy to hiss or be mad. She felt like a puddle of goo and hair and fabric attached. How long will it be until she bursts into flames?
"It's a Yuki-Onna tradition for the next leaders of the Yuki-Onna clan to not cut their hair until they're thirty." Blossom explained.
"Sounds stupid." Butch commented, childishly. He can't wait until they're finally back on Vampire territory, where they have decent weather! He can't stand the cold!
"Shaddup," Buttercup said, slurring her words together sluggishly. The moment she's at the beach, she's taking this heat magnet of a kimono off and then going swimming in an actual, unfrozen ocean!
"Future leaders?" Boomer echoed. "Does that mean you all are going to take over Yuki-Onna territory?"
"Yup," Bubbles answered. "Usually the oldest gets to rule but since me and my sisters are triplets, we're going to rule together when we come of age."
"I see," Brick hummed. "So you three are really related; you guys look very different so I assumed you that at least two of you girls were adopted."
"Nah, look at our faces." Bubbles said. "We may have different hair and eye color but our faces are the same, see?"
Bubbles put her cheek next to Blossom's to show their eerily strong resemblance while Buttercup continued to act as if she's passed out on her sisters laps.
"Are you guys related?" Buttercup said sluggishly. "You guys don't look alike at all, not even your faces are similar."
"We're brothers," Boomer said, quickly. "Just... Different."
The girls could tell something was up but they were too warm and sluggish to care at that moment. How much more warm weather can they take?
The carriage started tilting a little, from what Buttercup could tell, staring at the ground with a blank expression. If she melted right then, does that mean she won't be able to go to the beach. It's not fair! They're so close! She can't melt now!
"We have arrived at Lopes Mendes." The driver said from the ceiling speaker.
"Loopy wah?" Buttercup confused.
"Lopes Mendes," Blossom correct.
"It's a beach on an island on the outskirts of Rio de Janiero." Brick informed them.
"Oh yeah!" Bubbles exclaimed. "I remember our private tutor said that vampire territory was in Brazil!"
"Yep, and we're there first non-vampire residents in Vampire territory since they claimed it in 1967."
"Blah blah blah!" Buttercup said, as she felt the carriage land. "Ok boys, get out!"
"Huh?" Boomer said, a little shock at her sudden recovery. She was sluggish until just a few seconds ago and now she just kicked opened a door and is pushing him and his brothers out.
"Hey watch it!" Butch yelled.
"Out! Go find some beach stuff your something!" Buttercup said, finally kicked them through the door. "We'll meet you on the beach later!"
She slammed the carriage door.
"Ow, if I didn't know any better I would have thought that Butch was the one who pushed us out!" Boomer said, rubbing his arm from where Buttercup had grabbed and tossed him out.
"Well, she is his-"
"Don't you even finish that sentence, Brick!" Butch hissed.
*5 minutes later*
"Freedom!" Buttercup yelled, as she stormed out of the carriage, wearing her bathing suit she had earlier that day.
"It's still too hot." Blossom complained, tying a red bow on her head so her red hair didn't drag. They spent the last 5 minutes striping their kimonos and braiding Bubbles hair.
"Where do you think the boys are?" Bubbles asked, shielding her eyes from the sun. She always wanted to see the sun, since Yuki-Onna is always either cloudy or snowing but now that she sees it, she discovered that it hurts to stare at it directly at it.
"Who cares? We're at a beach!" Buttercup exclaimed gleefully. "This place is incredible! I don't even care if it's hot here, seeing the beach with your own eyes is way better than looking at pictures of it online!"
"Remember why we're here in the first place Buttercup." Blossom wanted, fanning herself with her fan.
"Yeah I know," Buttercup sighed. "Hmmmm, maybe my dear 'fiancé' is drowning over there, I shall go swim and see!"
"Buttercup don-"
"See ya!" Buttercup yelled as she ran away, looking for a good place to dive into the ocean. As if some vampire is going to get in her way of enjoying the beach!
"Unbelievable!" Blossom huffed. "Bubbles, look for the boys while I go get Buttercup."
"M'kay."
Blossom chased after Buttercup, but it's a pity that Buttercup is faster. Bubbles started her search.
Looking around, she had found that the white sanded beach was occupied with many people; vampires to be more accurate. Obviously, the rumor that vampires burst into flames when they are exposed to sunlight is a lie.
With so many people around, it'll be hard to spot the boys in the crowd. It would be so much easier if the boys were carrying a neon sign with dancing moneys around them. However, the likelihood of that happening is very low.
She received a few stares and points from people the longer she searched. At first she thought it was because she was a Yuki-Onna and they were wondering why she was there. There hasn't ever been immigration into vampire territory so she couldn't blame them for staring. That is, until she realized that there was no way they could have known that she wasn't a vampire! The only physical difference between a Yuki-Onna and a vampire was that vampires had impressive fangs and she hasn't even opened her mouth!
She felt a sudden tug at her hair.
"I knew it! It is really real!" A girl said, holding Bubbles's long braided hair in her arms. Oh, now it all makes sense. People were staring and pointing at her freakishly long hair!
"I'm sorry about that," the girl's mom said as she rushed over to them. "She's always been curious and likes to touch things."
"It's alright." Bubbles reassured her.
"You must be a tourist." The woman pointed out. "Considering you don't have fangs and the only people who live in Brazil are vampires."
"Um, sorta." Bubbles said, lamely. She didn't want to lie, especially since this woman was being so nice.
"Momma look! Her hair is so long!" The girl said, using Bubbles's hair as an imaginary scarf. "I'm Rosa Gonzales and I look fabulous~!" She said and posed in front of an imaginary camera.
"Sorry about that." The woman laughed and apologized again, unwrapping Bubbles's hair. "You know, you have so much hair. If you ever consider cutting it, you can donate it and put it to good use!"
"Yeah, you can donate it to kids like me!" Rosa said as she moved and took her wig off, revealing her nearly naked head with patches of hair here and there. "See, I'm blonde too! But I picked this wig because it's brown and chocolate is yummy. I wanted a pink wig because it looked like cotton candy but momma said no."
"Is that so?" Bubbles said politely but the woman could see the confused look.
"Cancer can't bring down this kid's cheer." The woman explained. "She reached a stable point that she can go out."
The realization was a hit over the head. The kid was so cheerful! She wouldn't have guessed!
A man called for his wife.
"Well, we have to go. Say bye Rosa."
"Bye pretty lady! Have fun during your stay in Brazil!" The girl waved goodbye and dashed to her where her dad and her brothers were.
Bubbles waved and then continued to walk along the beach, completely forgetting that she was supposed to look for the boys.
Cancer is such a heavy word. The girl was so happy and cheerful that Bubbles wouldn't have known what was going on just by looking at her. If cancer can happen in your homeland and of course, it can happen here too, then maybe there isn't that much of a difference between vampires and Yuki-Onnas. She realized that learning things about different places isn't the same as meeting the people that live in them. If she couldn't see that until now, what else doesn't she see with other places?
"Would you like to hear your fortune, missssssssssss?" A voice said, hissing like a snake from a nearby shadow. Bubbles looked over to see someone dressed as a fortuneteller underneath the shade of a few trees.
"Um no thank," Bubbles said. "I don't have any money on me." Well she wasn't lying, she was pretty sure that money was different here then it was in Yuki-Onna territory.
"It'sssssss free, for a lovely young lady asssssssssss yoursssssssself." The fortuneteller pressed, holding out his green hand.
"Ok then..." Bubbles hesitantly stretched her palm out to him.
"I ssssssee many good luck in your future," he said, looking at her palm. The more he talked, the more Bubbles could tell that he was foreigner but obviously wasn't a tourist.
"Is that so?"
"Yesssssss, but I alssssso sssssee terror." He warned darkly.
"Terror?"
"Yessssss," he said. "You're in vampire territory, and you aren't vampire. It would not be long until they ssssssshall begin to oppossse you?"
"Huh?"
"The vampiressss!" He hissed snakily. "They have no moralssss, assssss sssoon assss you leave your guard down, they will ssstrike!"
"I don't like what you're saying." Bubbles warned.
"Hear my warning child, the vampires will take over and they will not be kind to thosssse aren't them."
Bubbles yanked her hand away.
"Thank you for the reading, but I'm going to look for my friends now." Bubbles walked briskly away.
She wasn't stupid; she knew that he was part of the Shadow Walkers. The part she couldn't figure out was how they knew they were here. Blossom can figure that out later but right now, she had to find the boys before-
"LOOK OUT BELOW!" Buttercup yelled. Bubbles looked up and saw Buttercup, Blossom and the boys riding a speeding wagon down her directions. They were covered in hay, broken wood pieces and a neon sign that read "loco smoothies" hovered over them loosely. Wait... Was that a monkey with a tutu hugging Brick's head for dear life?
"BUTTERCUP IF WE DIE, I BLAME YOU!" Blossom screamed in terror.
"GET THIS MONEKY OFF!"
"BUTCH SHE'S CRAZY! PROBABLY BECAUSE SHE'S YOUR-"
"DONT YOU EVEN FINISH THAT SENTENCE!"
Bubbles jumped and rolled out of the way before the wagon could hit her, as well did the people around her. The wagon hit the water at full speed and everyone was tossed out of it and landed into the ocean with a solid splash.
"Oh my gosh!" Bubbles exclaimed and ran over to them and into the water. By the time, she got there, everyone surfaced above the water.
"Is everyone ok?"
"Yeah," Boomer said, spitting out water.
"Super..." Butch said sarcastically.
"Get this thing off!" Brick was still trying to get the monkey off him but the monkey kept kicking his face under the water so it would be able to stand on Brick's hand and not touch the water.
"I had better days." Blossom murmured.
"That was great!" Buttercup yelled, splashing around. "Let's do that again!"
"NO!"
