Butch isn't having a very nice day at all so that's why he's so tense and Buttercup isn't doing anything to ease his nerves, in fact, she's making them worse! XD Yeah there are humans in this universe but not many anymore because there was this big war and many were lost until human accepted that they had to share their world and the few remaining humans co-exist with monster but no longer govern any land. "You're going to have to pay for all this!" An angry aged man yelled at the boys and two out of three of the girls. "Do you realize how much damage you all caused? I could go out of business!" His face was brown and wrinkled like an apple that has been left out in the sun for too long.
Bubbles sat quietly on the round smoothie shack, under the shade of the hay roof which somehow escape the wrath of a runaway wagon. Her sisters were a sorry sight but she couldn't help but smile a little.
Scratches on their arms and faces, their bathing suits were dripping and slathered with sand and tiny splinters. Blossom had thick chunks of wood tangled in her hair, which made it look like she could be hiding an animal in there. If Buttercup even tried to sneak a glance at their older sister or even dare to snicker, She would have gotten a dark glare and an unladylike middle finger directed her way.
"We don't have much money on us, at the moment." Brick tried to explain. Early today he was in his room minding his own business until a mob of servants dragged him out of bed, dressed him and pushed him into a carriage where he was taken to Yuki-Onna territory against his will. So of course, he never had a chance to grab his wallet. This didn't sit well with the angry smoothie owner.
"Then how are you going to pay for the damages? I should call the police on you brats! You all destroy my shop!"
"No need for that, in fact contact the palace, sir." Blossom intervened quickly. "I'm sure it will ease your worries, trust me."
The owner squeezed a glare from his one good eye and stared down at Blossom's form. Before grunting under his breath, saying something around the lines of 'stupid kids these days'.
"Fine but if no one pays, I'm calling the police." He went to the kitchen landline phone.
"Don't have money in your own country? Nice going." Buttercup huffed but Blossom didn't relax her shoulders one bit. She didn't know if anyone would answer and pay for the damages considering it would seem unexpected to get a call saying that teenagers destroyed a smoothie shop and wants the palace to pay for it. As if reading her mind, Brick followed the man and took the phone from him. He dialed the number talked to someone on the other line.
"He didn't recognize you guys." Bubbles pointed out curiously. "I thought everyone would, since you're royalty."
"Not really, we don't get out much so no one sees our pictures in the news or magazines. Our school does a good job keeping out press too." Butch shrugged.
"Did your dad make you do political stuff at the palace at least?" Buttercup asked.
"No, he just let us do what we wanted and not worry about-... Um, did I say something?" Poor Boomer noticed all three girls glaring at him.
"Well lucky you, I guess. We had to go to all the meetings since we arrived at the main house." Buttercup huffed bitterly. "And you didn't? No wonder you guys are clueless about your own race being in danger."
"Guys we really don't have time for this," Bubbles said. "I spotted a shadow walker. We need to go."
"What?" Butch hissed, now in high alert. "Where?"
"At the bleach, underneath one of those bleach trees!"
"...you mean beach?"
"Yeah, oh! You knew what I meant!" Bubbles growled. "It isn't safe here we need to go!"
"WHAAAAAAAT? DAMN IT I WANTED TO STAY HERE LONGER!" Buttercup dropped to her knees and hit the floor with her fists "MY FIRST BEACH EXPERIENCE! RUINED!"
"Buttercup you're overact-"
"SHADDUP!" Buttercup crawled under a table and sulked like a child. She hugged her legs and pulled at her hair until all of it slipped under the table with her.
"Buttercup-"
"Nuuuuuuuuuuuu."
"Butte-"
"NUUUUUUUH."
"..."
"..."
"Buttercu-"
"NUUUUUU!"
"You're impossible!" Blossom massaged her temples. She felt a head ache coming. "I swear you do this just to spite me! Can't you just act like a regular person for once?"
"I'll act like myself, thank you very much Ms. Tight and Upright!" Buttercup moved to glare up at Blossom and stuck her tongue out.
"I'm serious!" She pulled at her leg but Buttercup help onto the center leg of the table.
"So am I!" The table tipped over and Blossom ended dragging her sister and her new pet table around the floor for a while without any indication that Buttercup was going to let go any time soon.
"This isn't going to be like last time, is it?" Boomer asked.
"No, she doesn't have a doorknob this time." Bubbles chuckled.
"Better it be cherry Princess than me," Butch dubbed Blossom a new nickname and rubbed his head where the doorknob left a bruise.
"Stop being such a baby!" Blossom growled and let go of her sister's leg. "You have a job to do! I'm going to protect whatever-his-name-is, Bubble you takes yours to the outer beach way, Buttercup go through the forestry path and I'll go through the shopping center. We'll meet at the carriage in ten minutes, maximum twenty."
"Sure." Buttercup let go of table and got up dusting the sand of her back and butt. "Come on shorty." She pulled Butch by his collar.
"HEY LET GO AND IM NOT A SHOrty..." Butch slapped her hand away but he froze when he took his first, actually good look at his to-be-fake-wed bodyguard. She was beautiful with nicely framed eyes and muscular toned body but that wasn't what he was focusing on. What bothered him was that she IS taller than he was. She smirked at him.
"I'm six foot two~ looks like I beat you by a good, hmmm, 5 to 6 inches?" Buttercup laughed, what she enjoyed the most is the satisfaction of people having to look up at her. Even though it meant the showerhead were never above her own head.
"You don't mind the height difference do you?" Bubbles asked Boomer though not as a big difference as Buttercup and Butch, but Bubbles was still two inches taller than him.
"Not really, you make it work into your cuteness factor." Boomer smiled, genuinely meaning what he said but still too thick skulled to realize the red spreading all over Bubble's face wasn't because of sunburn.
"Let's go before you burn to a crisp." Boomer gingerly took his jacket off his soaked self and put it over her head. "Sorry it's wet but try to block the sun with it as we go, sunburns are not fun and I don't want your first time at the beach to end up painful."
"Um- ok. Thank you." Bubbles smiled and followed him. Buttercup marched behind them before Blossom yanked her back by her swimsuit. She let it go with a wet slap against her back.
"And where are you going?"
"Blossom! They're getting away!" Buttercup pointed to the blonde couple.
"He's not the enemy."
"DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT JUST HAPPENED? I saw sparks!" Buttercup freaked. "They are hitting it off waaaaaay too well! Come on, even a robot like you with a dark hole for a heart can see whats forming between them! HE COULD BE A HEATBREAKER WITH A RECORD!"
"He's not." Butch yawned. "Boomer doesn't even know how to flirt."
"But don't you see? SHE'S-"
"Buttercup, I'm sure Bubbles is mature enough not to fall for someone she just met."
"But-but-!"
"Go. Shadow walkers are here and we need to leave." Blossom warned
"Fine." Buttercup sighed and pulled Butch by his arm.
"Hey!"
"You have shorter legs, you won't be able to keep up if I don't hold your arm."
"I CAN KEEP UP JUST FINE!"
Blossom face palmed when those two began to argue as they left.
"I am so sorry your grace, I did not know it was you and I hope you accept my humble apologies." The shopkeeper told Brick. Apparently, the conflict was smoothed over but when he realized who Brick was, he had a lot of kissing up to do.
"It's fine. I hope you receive a sum for your shop." Blossom answered for Brick and held his arm. "Now we must be going now, it's the prince's big day."
"Ah yes, of course. Happy birthday my prince." He bowed as she pulled Brick out of there.
"You can stop hugging my arm now." Brick said but Blossom didn't let go but looked directly into his eyes, they were the same height.
"Shadows walkers are after you."
"Yeah nothing ne-"
"I mean right now."
"They're here?"
"Yeah my sister saw them; we need to get you out of here. And fast."
"Wait, my brothers!" Brik yanked his arm back to stop her from pulling him forward.
"They're fine, we split up."
"Doesn't that make us sitting ducks?" he completely lost it. "They'll pick us up one by one! We need to find them! If we don't they'll-"
Blossom slapped him across his cheek to snap him out of it, and then slapped him again with the back of her hand.
"OW! Was the second one was necessary?"
"I was angry." She said in complete monotone. "I understand that you have no faith in my sisters to protect your brothers, that you have no faith in me to keep you alive, but it pisses me off that you have no faith in your father's plan."
Brick casted his eyes down.
"You're his son; he doesn't want you to die. So for once, try having a little faith in all this crap." Blossom cupped her hands on the edges of his face and made him look at her and her warm, cherry petal pink eyes. "I'm going to keep you safe; no harm will come to your brothers. Bubbles looks sweet but she is strong, Buttercup is strange but she had more military training than you would think and I always keep my word."
His anxiety still rattled in his stomach but breathed through it.
"Ok," Brick gingerly cupped his hands over hers and pulled them downward. "I- um, thank you."
He was awkward about it and quiet; she saw his sincerity and a smile reached her eyes.
"Let's get you to a safer ground."
