"So the one with red hair is your oldest sister and her name is Blossom and the other one is the second oldest named Buttercup. And you're the only one that's not named after a flower?" Boomer laughed and recapped. He and Bubbles had been getting along surprisingly well, making it easier to cope with their less than ideal situation.

Bubbles was the curious type, asking questions about anything and everything considering her new environment. Is the sun really so close that it could fry a person's skin to an angry sun burn? Was it common to wear swimsuits anywhere else besides the beach? What are those? What is this?

Boomer also tried to get to know her better too so they switch, asking questions about the other when it was their turn.

"Yes, but don't refer her as the 'other one', it rubs a sore spot and she'll certainly make your life hell for it." Bubbles warned.

"Note taken." He laughed. "So how is the sunburn?"

"No double questions, my turn." Bubbles pressed her lips together and adjusted the jacket over her head to block the sun. "What's going on?"

Boomer chuckled and shook his head.

"You know just as much as I do-"

"No I mean about you. And your brothers. You guys aren't breed the same way." She glanced over to him to see that he stopped, horrors struck in his steps. "You know what I'm talking about, don't you."

"I don't..."

"Boomer, my sisters and I have been conditioned to recognize certain subjects individually. Mine is people. Relations."

"That doesn't clear things up. I have no idea what you mean." He chuckled nervously and began to walk away briskly and kept his face aimed straight ahead.

"Boomer-"

"I think the carriage is this way." Boomer made a mad dash for it, looping around people and jumping over tables. Bubbles used a bit of cold air to push her body forward, catching up to him. People she passed wondered why they were suddenly glazed with frost though it melted quickly.

"I'm not trying to start anything." Bubbles drifted by his side even though it was obvious he was increasing his speed to avoid her stares. "But I need to know, what if it has to do with the shadow walkers. You can't deny that possibility!"

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Boomer turned to her, he could see his breath leaving his mouth. Since Bubbles had used her powers, the air around them was getting colder.

"But IF I did, I can assure you, that it has NOTHING and I mean NOTHING to do with it."

"Last time I checked a half brother means he has a different parent than you two have. Like it or not, every species except humans are particular about bloodlines races. Maybe the shadow walkers-"

"Stop it!" Boomer snapped. "That has nothing to do with those stupid shadow walkers. Look I don't know how you got this idea, I can't tell you about this certain thing, anything else I'll gladly say just not this!"

"Because it's not your secret to tell." Bubbles understood and Boomer paled and his clenched his jaw.

"...you can tell which one of us is..."

"Yes, I can tell." She nodded, placing a hand on his shoulder and moved him along. They continued walking in stiff silence, their beings shifted. She was alert with her head up and he was scowling at the sand. He didn't understand how this took such a disturbing turn or how she figured it out when it hasn't been a full day since she met them. Is it a Yuki-Onna thing?

"Does your sisters know?" He asked with bitterness dripping off his voice.

"No." She shook her head. "They don't notice these kind of things to often. I'm usually the only one to realize."

"...how?"

"I was trained to recognize genetic differences between people. Their relationships. Body language, speak patterns, emotion, phases, stuff like that. Though I wouldn't have thought you guys weren't triplets like my sisters and I; at least up until you guys acted strange in the carriage." She glanced up and echoed: "'We're brothers...just different'"

"So it was me that gave it away." Boomer slammed his hand onto his forehead. "How could I be so stupid? I practically gave him away! Bubbles please, don't tell your sisters!"

"Why? It's not a big deal, many clans have-"

"It's a big deal to us, ok? They'll treat him differently again, he worked hard so they would at least ignore him so they wouldn't give him or my Dad a hard time anymore! Our mom left us because of it all and it hurt him the most so just please don't tell anyone." Boomer begged, trying to keep his voice low as possible so no one but Bubbles could hear. She pressed her lips and her brows clustered towards the middle.

"The shadow walkers, Boomer what if-"

"He's not a threat!" Boomer replied quickly. "He would never be a part of anything that would hurt vampires."

He clutched her upper arm desperately in a attempt to imprint his words into her mind. They kept walking to blend in with their surroundings but when Bubbles glanced at his hand and trailed her vision to his shoulders, he was shaking.

He was terrified about this, he did not want this to be known outside his clan. He was scared for his brother, he didn't want to repeat what had happened when they were children.

Bubbles was sorry for putting him on the spot when all he had done was welcome her and had been kind to her but she did not regret asking. Now that she asked, according to his words and behavior this issue had less too do with having enemy blood in the royal clan and had more to do with being 'a bastards child'. Which surprised Bubbles considering most clans don't care about it just as long as they have any royal blood in thier system to began with.

"Alright, I won't tell them." Bubbles promised and Boomer visibly relax. "There is something I don't understand, who are 'they'-"

"No double questions, my turn." Boomer tried to stir the conversations to a lighter topic. "How's your sunburn?"

"I don't really think I have this 'sunburn' I mean, why would anyone go outside if the sun's rays could actually cause harm- YEOW!"

Boomer poked the tender red flesh on her shoulders then laughed.

"Sorry to break it to you but you have sunburn. Just wait till it starts peeling. And you scream like a kitten!"

"I do not!" Bubbles defended and huffed. "I don't understand why I got the 'sunburn' and you or anyone else didn't!"

"Probably because you are not use to the-woah wait, Bubbles what are you doing!?" She pulled him into a small red and white stripped changing tent which was meant for one person, not two. He began to panic more when she dragged him to the sand.

"Shhh." Bubbles whispered and muffled his words with her hand over his mouth. "I see him." She explained to him and looked through a ripped hole. In the same spot from before, he stayed under the shade of his hood and he hissed at every vampire that walked by. His with a long thin tongue slithering in the air.

"It's him! The one I saw from before, a shadow walker!"

"Hm!?" Boomer moved her hand away and sat up to see through the hole. "Bubbles, I don't see anyone suspicious."

"What? He's under that coconut tree, with a heavy robe, he sticks out like a sore thumb!"

"There is no one there!" He moved his head and let Bubbles look again. She pulled him foreword again with his face pushing against the cloth around the it.

"He's right there!" She growled in annoyance.

"There no one under that tree!"

"Yes there is! He's- wait..." Bubbles looked once again and she saw him, hissing at everyone but they didn't seem to be bothered by his freakish tongue at all, like they didn't notice it...

"Oh no... Vampires can't see him." Bubbles mummers and stood up.

"What?"

"Vampires can't see him!" She repeated herself.

"How is that even possible?"

"...wow you're really behind on politics aren't you?" Bubbles shook her head. "I'll explain it later but it's not safe if we stay here. We have to take a different route."

"But that'll take forever!" Boomer whined. "Why can't we walk right by him?"

"Are you kidding me?"

"No, listen he think vampires can't see him-"

"Because they can't."

"And what are the chances that he knows who I am or that I'm here?"

"...slim. But why is he here? He talked to me and somehow knew I wasn't a vampire. He could be looking for you for all you know."

"But how could he know we're here?" Boomer stood up.

"I really think this a bad idea," Bubbles stopped him from leaving by grabbing his arm.

"Relax, you can see him so we don't have anything to worry about." He said as he dragged her out the tent much to her annoyance, sand wasn't a steady ground to stand on. "Just keep you're eye on him."

"Boomer I can give you a million different reasons why- he's not there." She said mid glance when she noticed the slithery-tongued strangers absence.

"Maybe now you can see him anymore?"

"No I don't think that's possible-"

"AH!"

"BOOMER!" Bubbles yelled when the sand below them exploded. Her feet were burning, a painful countering to her cold skin. She groaned and gripped them to smother the pain, then looked up to see Boomer in the mouth of a giant deformed snake. It's eyes were enlarged and bloodshot like they were smacked onto the sides its swollen head, a heavy weight on its skinny neck and disgusting stick thin torso. Flames spiked on the head and trailed down its body like firecrackers on steroids.

"BUBBLES!" Boomer screamed, the creatures jaw tightening around his back and stomach.

"Boomer hold on!" Bubbles yelled her eyes immediately blazed blue. The activation of her powers triggered a blizzard to form around them, adding to the chaos the beach was already under.

"Drop. Him." The whirl wind of frosted air echoed her command. Ignoring the flames she grabbed its trail, feeling the heat before she overpowered it with ice. It screamed, letting Boomer fall from its mouth and slammed Bubbles away, breaking the block of ice against her ribs.

"BUBBLES!" Boomer yelled after her before screaming for himself when the slithering beast tried to recapture him in its mouth. In a throbbing haze, Bubbles threw a chunk of ice at Boomer's side that pushed him out of the way.

She blinked rapidly the spinning stars out of her eyes, trying to get her head focused but the annoying ringing in her ear was making it hard to do that.

"Boomer hide!" Bubbles yelled and stood on her blistered feet. "A giant beast snake made out of scales and fire...jeez isn't today my lucky day." She groaned, being a bodyguard for a vampire prince suddenly became more unappealing than it already was. "Hey ugly! Over here!"
