Not so sure how I feel about this chapter... Meh...

Enjoy this chapter as a sort of a "downtime" filler. Sorry, I know you were expecting a better, more fulfilling chapter, but I needed this chapter for undisclosed purposes. (Also sorry because it's unrevised LOL) Plus I just wanted to write another semi-long conversation :) Don't worry. I'll stop goofing off next chapter. The story will really start to pick up speed after this.

If you're wondering about Jasmine's AU fringe, it's because I always imagine Jasmine having really cute bangs. I think Piper Curda could really rock that look!

Also, warning for something pretty gross that's discussed later in the chapter. It's not too too disgusting and doesn't last too long, but just prepare.

Thank you for reviewing everyone! :)

Disclaimer: I don't own IDDI and I'm only using the characters to entertain!

Jasmine sped walked home, trying to control her breathing and gripping her cup of hot chocolate tighter. She avoided the idiots on their bikes who were taking up more than their share of half of the sidewalk and growled at the people who had stopped in the middle, chatting with their friends and blocking the route. She didn't have time for this. She had to get home.

"I don't… I don't really know. There's just something about her. I feel like I've met her… Or like I've known her my entire life or something…"

"That's because you have known her your entire life…" Jasmine muttered, clutching her bag tighter.

Why did Logan have to be so perceptive at an awful time like this?! Jasmine was doing the best she could to steer Logan off her trail, but it was like his mind was forcing him to remember what had transpired and who was his partner.

Not to mention the fact that he was having those dreams. When he had told Jasmine, she had gotten nervous, not just because it was a recollection dream, but also because she'd been having fairly similar naughty dreams. The only difference was that she could recognize the guy was Logan in her dreams. It was only a matter of time before Logan discovered it was her in his dreams as well. And when that happened, she would be royally screwed.

At least one good thing was that she could tell that Logan was seemingly starting to get fed up with the whole 'let's look for the mystery girl' spiel. The fact that he was getting exasperated was a good sign. A step in the right direction. As long as she kept him occupied looking for those girls, he would eventually lose his patience, and he would give up. Then she could try to steal the brush and end this charade once and for all.

It was flattering that he felt such a connection to her for sleeping with him, but Jasmine knew that once he found out it was her, things would get awkward between them. She couldn't have that. Especially when Logan was the one guy she talked to about anything. The kind of awesome, supportive best friend who even bought her tampons and heat pads when she was on her period, despite how grossed out he was. Garrett absolutely refused to go anywhere near the girls when they were on their cycle. Especially after an incident where he had gotten stuck in their apartment one afternoon and they all had bitched at him for a good few hours. He had left mentally scarred and now avoided them like the plague when they were on. The point was, Jasmine didn't want to lose Logan from something stupid like a drunken hookup.

Jasmine pulled her keys out of her pocket and unlocked the door, shoving her racing thoughts about Logan to the back of her mind. She had a huge Comp Pol exam she needed to study for. It wouldn't do if she failed it because she was too focused on her tumultuous "love" life. Or rather, hookup life.

Lindy ambushed her almost as soon as she walked into the apartment foyer.

"What did you do Jasmine?!"

Jasmine frowned, setting her shoes off to the side, and dropping her keys in the dinosaur bowl on the table near the front door. "Well hello to you too Lindy. How was your day?"

"Zip it." She snapped, "Why did Logan come over today telling us that you slept with Garrett?! When the hell did you sleep with Garrett?!"

Jasmine choked on her drink and set it rapidly down on the kitchen table, coughing in earnest to clear her throat.

"You sure were busy this weekend…" Delia drawled, watching Jasmine in amusement as she mixed batter for the cupcakes she was about to make.

"He said what?!" Jasmine exclaimed, wiping her mouth on her sleeve.

"This morning, Logan came over. You'd already gone to class by then, but he told us to keep it a secret that you slept with Garrett on Saturday."

"Hence our question." Delia continued for Lindy, "When did you sleep with Garrett?"

"I never slept with Garrett!" she cried indignantly, shuddering, "That's just gross!"

Lindy frowned, "Wait… You didn't tell him you slept with Garrett?"

"No! I don't know how he came to that conclusion, but Logan must have been mistaken! You know how he misunderstands stuff."

Delia tapped her chin in thought, "Well… He did say Saturday night you slept with Garrett… But that coincides with what happened between you and Logan."

Lindy nodded, "Maybe he got mixed up and assumed you slept with Garrett?"

Jasmine groaned and slumped on the stool in front of the kitchen island, "I don't have time for this crap… How the hell did he come to that conclusion? Now I have to set him straight."

"Well… do you really need to?" Delia asked, dipping in her finger in the bowl and scooping out a fingerful of goopy chocolate gunk and popping it in between her lips. Lindy scrunched her nose in disgust.

"What do you mean, Deels?" Jasmine asked.

"Think of this as a blessing in disguise." Delia replied, pouring little bits of batter into the cupcake holes, "You don't want Logan to know you guys slept together, right? Well, if he believes you slept with someone else, won't he be less likely to think you two hooked up then?"

"She's got a point Jasmine." Lindy said.

"But then he's going to act weird when I'm with Garrett, and he might think I like him or something!" Now that she thought about, that might explain his whole 'I support you' crap a couple days ago…

"So?" Lindy shrugged, "Isn't the whole point of this list business trying to divert his attention from the fact that it was you he slept with? So then isn't this the best way? He thinks you slept with someone else. Knowing my brother, he's probably already convinced himself you are not one of the options."

"But I don't like Garrett… I like Logan." Jasmine looked down, sighing, "I don't know… This seems like adding unnecessary complications to my plan…"

"I mean what did you expect? You're the one who decided to keep your weekend affair a secret from him no matter what. Things have gotten kind of crazy because you made them that way."

Delia set the oven to the proper heat, wiping her hands of remaining flour after she finished, "Does Garrett even know that Logan suspects you and he hooked up? Didn't you say Garrett knows the truth about Saturday night? What happens if he accidentally reveals you?"

"He won't." Jasmine muttered dangerously. "Not unless he wants his social life ended."

Delia shrugged, "Garrett's a loose card is all I'm saying."

Jasmine sighed in annoyance and stood up, grabbing her bag, "This is really starting to not be worth all the trouble."

"You could always just tell Logan the truth."

"Not a chance in hell." She waved as she left the kitchen and living room, "If you need me, I'll be studying in my room."

~.~.~

Jasmine yawned mightily and set her notes on her dresser. At this point, she either knew the material or she didn't. There was no point in losing so much sleep over this. She didn't have her first lecture until 10, but she definitely needed her rest. If she went to bed earlier, she might be able to wake up earlier and get some more studying in before her exam at five.

She checked her agenda, making sure she had rewritten all her notes and finished all the homework that was due the next day. Her phone's catchy ring tone rang out, and she checked the caller ID. For some reason, Logan was calling her. Unconsciously, she flattened her hair and tucked the flyaway strands behind her ear, even though she knew he wasn't watching her.

"Hello?"

"Hey. Is this a bad time?"

It was never a bad time.

"You've got a couple of minutes. What's up?"

"I just wanted to let you know I found a few more girls on the list."

"Don't you have a philosophy essay due tomorrow that you should be working on?"

"Not everyone is a studious nerd like you, Jaz."

She scoffed, rolling her eyes, "I'm sorry. Whose GPA is a 2.7? This isn't me being a nerd. This is me saying you need to get your butt in gear."

"Can't be bothered with school." She heard him yawn, "Besides, how can I focus on school when I've got too much to worry about in finding her?"

"Your priorities are all mixed up Logan." Jasmine snorted, "Anyway, who'd you find? I'll make a mental note of it so I don't look for those people on Thursday."

"Numbers 240, 124, and 190."

"Why'd you skip around so much?" Jasmine was sure they hadn't been that far in the list.

"All three of them were eating dinner together. I happened to catch them at The Grill before heading on my way back to our apartment."

Her eyes narrowed, "Let me guess. You flirted and got their numbers?"

"Are you still sore about that?" He laughed, "And no. For your information, I did not get their numbers."

"Uh huh. Sure. Tell the truth."

"… I didn't keep their numbers."

She rolled her eyes, "Must you always flirt with everybody you come into contact with? You're like an animal in heat."

"What do you expect? I'm a hot blooded male. With a lot of blood constantly going south."

"You know, Logan? Just because I asked about your gross dream this afternoon doesn't mean it was an invitation for you to say perverted crap all the time."

"Just being honest, Jaz."

She groaned, "You're hopeless! Would you like it if I frequently talked about bloody, gruesome periods? Particularly mine?"

She could just imagine his repulsed expression and burst out laughing at his shocked silence.

"Alright. Point taken."

"Glad we've come to an agreement. I was thinking I would have to start delving into the reminder story of how Delia left a bloody tampon in your basement back in middle school."

"Holy shit. You promised never to bring that up again! I was scarred for life! That's not for the eyes of a thirteen year old boy to see!"

"There's plenty more where that came from Logan…" she singsonged.

"Truce! Truce, dammit! I call a truce. I already said I got the point."

"Just checking~ Cuz just last week, I soiled–"

"So anyway, what's the plan for Thursday?" He cut in, quickly changing the subject.

She chuckled. "Plan?"

"Looking for the girls."

"Oh. Well, I've got a class in the evening, so I'll only be free in the afternoon."

"Cool. Wanna get lunch then? We can start looking after class?"

"Sure why not. Anything to get me away from Lindy. She has another date tomorrow night. I can't afford to be late to class."

"You know, I was thinking…" he started, then tapered off quietly.

"Don't strain your brain." She teased.

"Very funny. I was just thinking since most people will be going out or partying on Friday it'll be harder to find anyone. So why waste our time, you know?"

"Good point. So what do you want to do on Friday?"

She heard him smile through the phone, "So you just assume we're going to be hanging out, eh Jasmine?"

She mentally cursed in her mind, "No! I was just thinking that it's been a long time since we've done anything without the group. You know? Just chilled and stuff. Had fun?" She swallowed thickly, holding her breath when he didn't respond immediately. Shit. I probably made him suspicious!

"I did want to catch a movie at the dollar theater. This weekend is 90s classic comedies. I'm sure they've got something interesting. I know how much you like your 90s movies." He finally said.

Jasmine released the breath with a whoosh, her face lighting up. "That sounds awesome! And then we can go to Johnny's nearby and make fun of the super drunk people getting pizza at 2 AM."

"Let me guess: I'm buying?"

"Think of it as compensation for helping you find the mystery gal. But just letting you know, Logan. Once you cash in this payment, I'll complain again." She warned him playfully, expecting him to respond with some kind of teasing.

"I know… But it's worth it." He said softly.

Jasmine's face burned red and her eyebrows rose. The tone of his voice when he responded was making her heart race.

"Besides," he added, "I can always just promise to take you out again, right?"

"Take me out?" She clarified, unsure of what he meant. Their overall relationship implied something casual, but his tone… it sounded a little too loaded with some hidden meaning in her ears. Then again, she could have been wishfully thinking since she had such a huge crush on him in the first place.

"Yeah. Another friendly date."

"Oh really?" she responded after a short pause, just a little disappointed, "Are you going to be paying still?"

"You're gonna run my wallet dry, you know?"

Even though it was a bit sad that she wasn't going on a real date between lovers with him, she could still pretend at least. He was quite the gentleman. And with him paying for the meal and the movie, it was almost like she was his girlfriend going on a date with him.

"That's the whole point of a girlfriend." She scoffed, not quite paying attention to what she had said.

"Girlfriend, Jasmine?"

Her cheeks heated up as soon as she realized what she had let slip. Shit! I thought the word girlfriend and it just slipped out! She could just hear his smug ass grin on the other side of the phone.

"You're lucky your face isn't in my fist's range, Logan." She rolled her eyes, trying to sound in control, "I meant a friend that's a girl and you know that!"

"Yeah. Whatever you say Jaz." He chuckled, "You know, you're cute when you get flustered."

She bit her lip to keep her grin from growing too widely, "Oh yeah? You think I'm cute?" she said coyly, unconsciously twirling a strand of hair around her finger.

"Ewww! Get a room!" Lindy suddenly yelled poking her head through the crack of the door while Delia made kissy noises.

"Oh Logan! Your voice turns me on, and I use your picture to get off!" Delia moaned in a high pitched voice.

"Get bent!" Jasmine yelled, away from the phone.

They cackled with laughter, and Lindy jerked her head out of the doorway just as Jasmine chucked a pillow at them with a snarl. They laughed even harder when she missed.

"Was that Lindy and Delia?"

"Yeah. They're just being stupid. Don't worry about it. Anyway. I should probably head to bed. Big exam and all tomorrow."

"Alright. Goodnight Jasmine."

"Night Logan." She swooned. She loved how soft and breathy his voice would get on the phone when he was ending a conversation. Definitely the perfect tone of voice to fuel her inappropriate dreams for the night.

She ended the call and sat on her bed with her knees to her chest, smiling absentmindedly. Logan had the perfect voice to help lull her to sleep. Her phone beeped, signifying a new text message.

Don't have too much fun with my picture. :P

Jasmine's smile fell right off her face, and her eyes narrowed. She typed one quick message, jabbing the send button harshly.

Oh you think that's funny huh? I'll see you in a couple days. Say it to my face why dontcha and we'll see how funny you think it is then }:[

Yikes. I better avoid you.

That's a smart idea bub. Well. At least until Friday anyway

What is that face even supposed to be? A unibrow man or st?

No! It's an angry face! He looks angry!

... No. I dont think so

Shaddup! Goodnight and good riddance!

Night Jaz. See you soon ;)

Delia crept into Jasmine's room, "You've got a clean white cami, right?"

"In my dresser." Jasmine replied, setting her alarm for the morning and setting her phone on her nightstand.

"Thanks." Delia went to the wardrobe. She had an annoying little amused smirk on her face and Jasmine frowned, her eyebrows furrowing in suspicion.

"What? What's with your facial expression?"

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you got asked out by Logan."

"Yeah." Jasmine could feel her cheeks starting to rouge. "What of it? It's as friends, and anyway, it's payment for me helping him find his lost girl."

"Alright." She replied breezily, rummaging through Jasmine's dresser. "Just make sure to use condoms at the end of the night."

Without a word, Jasmine picked up a pillow and bashed it against Delia's cackling face. Delia dissolved into giggles and grabbed the cami, bounding away when Jasmine tried to hit her again.

Jasmine rolled her eyes. Her friends were so annoying!

She yanked on her bedside lamp light and cut the lights off in her room. She slipped under her covers and yanked the comforter up to her ear, her mouth turned down into a frown.

She wasn't planning on hooking up with Logan at the end of the night.

Besides, even if she wanted to–which she didn't–there was no way anything would happen on Friday. Logan didn't think about her that way. Still though… She did have a date. Even if it was a friendly one. Better than nothing...
