Logan grunted as he dead squatted, trying to focus on his workout and not on the fact that Jasmine's scented lotion had almost made him lose control and actually kiss her neck. It had taken every ounce of his being to fight the urge to wrap his arms around her and just kiss her with reckless abandon. And then she had responded so readily and so quickly and that moan she let slip out…

He set the bar back onto the rack with a loud clang, gritting his teeth and closing his eyes to try to force the image out of his mind. But it only served to amplify the image of her flushed face.

He needed to work harder.

Which had been his initial purpose for coming to the gym in the first place. He'd been here since the morning, trying and failing to push his undeniable desire for Jasmine out of his mind.

Garrett had looked at him like he was crazy that morning when he said he wanted his workout regimen, but Garrett had supplied it to him anyway. Logan needed to burn off a lot of steam. He had a lot of thinking to do to plan his next step.

Yes, he had said he would figure out what The Incident was, but honestly, he didn't know where to go from there. He had pretended like he knew more than he let on to Jasmine, but it was honestly just a lucky guess. Everything else just seemed like a jumbled puzzle and he wasn't sure how to connect the pieces. All he knew was that Jasmine was involved somehow. And that she held the key to the reason why there was so much secretive stuff happening in their group.

If he tried to pinpoint the beginning of the secretive bullshit, he could honestly trace it back to that Sunday after he'd found the brush. Jasmine had been off the charts jittery. She had spit up her coffee and choked twice in a row and since that day, she'd been acting off. If he really thought about it, that was when things seemed to have taken a turn for the crazy. From there, things had just devolved and become downright insane with a capital I.

He settled at a free bench press bench and set the weight for the bar before laying down and commencing his reps, methodically pumping his arms in an attempt to drive his conflictions from his mind.

There were so many weird things happening and pieces that he couldn't connect. Jasmine's supposed Incident, JK the mystery girl, the fact that Jasmine didn't sleep with Garrett, how secretive his friends were being, the familiarity of the mystery girl. Because for some reason, he couldn't shake the feeling that everything was connected in some way. Were they? If they were at all, he couldn't think of any way that would make sense. And it only frustrated him more because the longer things became twisted and confusing, the more he felt himself slowly losing his mind.

But who was he kidding. He wasn't working out to work out the details of this convoluted mess. He was trying to get that damn image of that dumbass Luke drooling all over her out of his head.

Logan's original plan of seducing Jasmine wasn't supposed to be so direct. Honestly, he had been planning to go for a more subtle route, but Jasmine flirting with that douche bag had set his anger and jealousy off. Logan had been wondering why Jasmine had taken so long to just dry her shirt and went to go check on her to make sure she was okay. And when he'd gotten to the plank, he honestly hadn't expected to see that stupid guy trying to get with his Jasmine.

Logan paused mid lift and let out a sigh.

His Jasmine.

Shit.

"Listen to yourself Logan…" he laughed mirthlessly, "You're losing your damn mind."

Even his mind was starting to act crazy. Jasmine wasn't his girlfriend. He didn't have a claim to her, and honestly, she was entitled to date or screw anyone she wanted (not that he was particularly pleased about that).

But it was hard to think anything otherwise.

Undoubtedly, his friendship with Jasmine had changed. He wasn't even entirely sure they were just friends at this point. Clearly, they both were attracted to each other. He could say that with utmost certainty.

And he could also say with utmost certainty that he wanted her. He wanted to touch her. He wanted to make her squirm and moan and sigh breathlessly in his ear. He wanted to spend mornings with her just watching cartoons, afternoons mocking the people who came to classes hungover, and evenings just cuddling. He knew it was crazy. But the thought of any other guys putting their hands on her drove Logan nuts.

He set the bar back on the rack and sat up, sighing and rotating his shoulder. But all of his wishes didn't make a difference, because he wasn't even sure Jasmine wanted the same. It was hard to tell how she felt about him. Although after last night, he wouldn't be surprised if she wanted absolutely nothing to do with him anymore.

A pair of bare legs stepped directly in front of his bench. Before he could pick it up, a hand from the newcomer reached down and picked up his water bottle. The scent of sharp cinnamon invaded his senses, and Logan looked up to Tracy standing in front of him with a smug raised eyebrow.

"Hey Logie Bear."

"I already told you I'm not getting back together with you." He said, dismissing her. He didn't have time for her antics.

"I got that." she said, keeping his bottle away from him to keep his attention.

He sighed in annoyance, wiping his face with the raggedy towel. "What do you want?"

"You should be a lot nicer to me, Logan." She sassed, putting a hand on her hip. "You know I know something interesting that involves you…"

He frowned, "What is it?"

"Wouldn't you like to know?" she singsonged, "I'll tell you eventually…"

"Why do I feel like there's a catch if you tell me?"

"Because there is." She said simply, her eyes glittering in mischief. It was hard for Logan to believe he had ever been attracted to her once upon a time. The more he watched her, the more diabolical he could tell she was.

"Oh yeah? What's the catch?" he finally said, laying back down and picking up the bar to continue his reps.

"You have to go on a date with me today."

"That's it?" he grunted in disinterest.

"No. One night with me. Tonight. And you have to tell your friends we slept together. And you'll do it too."

"What?" he asked incredulously, temporarily pausing and looking up at her like she'd lost her mind, "Why the hell would I do that?"

"Because I know who your mystery girl is."

That stopped him cold.

Logan's eyes widened, and he set the bar back onto the holder, sitting up in alarm. How the hell could she know? There was no way she could know. Not even he nor Jasmine knew. Nobody knew. But she didn't seem to be lying, and she was passively watching him, waiting for the information she told him to sink in.

"You know who the mystery girl is? How?" He'd been looking for her for a week. How the hell did Tracy figure it out that quickly?

"Let's just say that a little birdie told me when she chirped a bit too loudly."

"Who is it?" he asked, trepidation rising.

"Uh uh uh. You'll have to carry out your side of the deal first." She grinned maliciously, "I'll give you until 3 to make up your mind. Think about it Logie Bear. I'd say it's a pretty fair exchange."

She set his bottle down slowly. Then she sauntered out of the gym, swinging her hips and ignoring all of the looks other guys were giving her. As she left out the door, she gave Logan a poignant look over her shoulder and winked before saucily walking off.

Logan stared off into space dumbfounded for a few moments. He wasn't sure what to think. On one hand, he had absolutely no interest in sleeping with Tracy ever again, but on the other: he really wanted to figure out who the mystery girl was and why she had taken over his mind for a while. Finding the mystery girl could be one of the keys to solving this twisted puzzle that had been plaguing them all the past week. And with hundreds of people to still find, the fast and easy method was starting to look more alluring.

But was it worth hooking up with Tracy?

Tracy was arguably good in bed, and a quick hook up wouldn't be such a big deal. And telling his friends was one thing… but telling Jasmine was a whole other. He didn't want to tell Jasmine. He didn't know why, but he had a feeling that sleeping with Tracy would piss Jasmine off. Their friendship was already hanging by strings. He honestly didn't want to jeopardize it any further.

And there was the fact that he felt like he would be betraying Jasmine.

But finding this mystery girl could help them move past some of this awkwardness that had settled in their friendship.

"What the hell do I choose…" he muttered, rubbing his face tiredly.
