Nal's spearhead pierced the creature's flesh. It let out a bloodcurdling screech. It and The Doctor fell to the ground, its fingers still resting inside The Doctor's abdomen. Nal pulled her spear out and began to choke and pull the pale beast by the throat with the shaft. "Get it away from The Doctor!" Nal shouted to Laura.

"Right!" Laura ran up to the monster and kicked it several times in the head and then began to stomp down on its arms in hope that it would let go of The Doctor. The pale white thing recoiled in pain, pulling its fingers from the The Doctor. Slowly Nal's spear drained the consciousness from the monster.

"Get me into The TARDIS." The Doctor wheezed, faintly. Nal and Laura start to gently lift The Doctor into The TARDIS. "Take that thing with us". The Doctor gestured weakly toward the creature.

"Why Doctor? It might kill us!"

"Do it!"

"Fine! Nal, grab it. I'll help The Doctor."

Laura, with The Doctor leaning on her, and Nal, dragging the beast behind her, made it into the TARDIS.

Nal looked around, baffled. "Where is this place? This is magic..."

"It's the TARDIS. It's still new to me too." Laura said, softly laying The Doctor down by the console.

"The scanner." The Doctor pointed to the screen on the console. "Bring it here."

Laura grabbed the scanner and pulled it closer to the Doctor. He flipped a switch and there was, what seemed like an x-ray of him on the screen.

"You have two hearts..." Laura said, confused.

"That's normal...What about the rest?"

"I don't see any rest."

"That isn't normal...Pull the tall pale fellow over here."

Nal tossed the creature toward The Doctor in one quick motion.

"Thank you Nal."

"No problem, thief."

The Doctor moved the scanner over the creature. "What do you see Laura?" The Doctor's words were growing fainter.

"It's all bones...I don't understand...why steal the organs if they don't have any? I mean I suppose it might need some or something, but it seemed to be moving fine without them."

"We'll worry about that in a moment. First, I need you to do something. See a set of numbers there?"

"Yes."

"Read them to me."

"1-88-154. What are they Doctor?"

"A temporal frequency...be a dear and reach into my pocket and pull out my screwdriver?" The Doctor said, grimacing with pain.

"Is that the thing that buzzes and glows green?"

"That's the one."

Laura fished around in the Doctor's inside breast pocket. She could feel his breath growing slower. "Here!"

"Give it to me." Laura placed it gently in the The Doctor's cold, shaking hand. The Doctor slowly fiddled with the screwdriver and then weakly pointed it at the crooked, white monster. With a brilliant green the screwdriver buzzed. Suddenly, The Doctor took a deep breath and jumped to his feet. "Much better!"

"Doctor! You're okay!" Laura hugged him.

"Right as rain!" The Doctor grinned.

"I'm glad you are fine, thief." Nal said with a brief smile.

"What did you do?" Laura said, relief all over her face.

"Mr. white, tall and handsome still had the temporal link connected between himself and my organs. I figured that if I broke the link they'd return to me...that or they'd fall uselessly to the floor in front of us and I'd die...About forty percent chance of that...Now! Let's have a look at this beastly thing!" The Doctor bent down to take a look at the creature through the scanner.

"Well, Doctor? What do you see?" Laura asked.

"You were right. It's all bones...bones and teeth...I have a feeling we've only dealt with the help and not the master...Hmm?"

"What is it?"

"This thing is also temporally displaced..."

"Thief, can you please just tell us what is going on?" Nal said, gruffly.

"Yes. Sorry. It seems that this creature is time traveling..."

"That makes sense. I mean, if the organs are time traveling, it wouldn't be a stretch to think that the ones stealing them would be too." Laura said.

"No. Well, yes. That makes sense. Yes, but that's not what I mean. I mean that this creature is displaced temporally and spatially...in several places. At once."

"Wait...so there are multiple versions of the same creature running around?"

"Yes. All through out this planet, all through its history. Someone is playing a very dangerous game with the laws of time." The Doctor's concern filled each breath.

"So what exactly does that mean Doctor? How many of these things are there?"

"It means that not just Nal's people are in trouble. Thousands, even maybe millions of people, all throughout time, are in trouble."

"What do we do?"

"We help them of course!"

The Doctor and Laura smiled to each other.

"Hold on Nal! We're going for a ride!" The Doctor said, flipping the switches on the TARDIS console. The TARDIS shook and wheezed through time.
