The Doctor sat, leaning against the TARDIS console with his arms crossed. Laura looked at him, unsure on how to feel about this strange alien man she foolishly decided to run away with. All this was the sake of travel and adventure and self discovery and so far all she's found was distrust, confusion and near death for the whole of human history.

"Stop staring at me." The Doctor said, staring off and away from Laura.

"Look, I'm sorry I upset you, Doctor. I'm new here..."

The Doctor turned to face Laura. "That's right you are! I could be traveling with anyone right now, but I chose you! No more questioning me! I don't travel to be questioned! Do you understand me, young lady?!"

Laura quietly nodded her head.

"Good! Now we've landed. Let's see where we are." The doctor strolled over and opened the TARDIS door wide.

Laura muttered utter her breath. "I could be home with my mom if I wanted to be yelled at for speaking my mind..."

The Doctor quietly made his way out into a huge Governmental building. It was all white marble and rich, dark woods. Laura quickly followed behind him. They stood at the edge of a balcony and looked down at the proceedings.

"Where are we Doctor?" Laura said quietly.

The Doctor put his finger to his lip to silence Laura. He then pointed to the floor where arguments were being given on the floor.

"This can not stand! Every day more and more innocent people are killed! Shot dead by radicals and criminals! We must escalate measures to protect our children and our way of life! Lambda Prime needs peace!"

The gavel slammed down and a recess was called. The Doctor wandered down from the balcony with Laura in tow. "Hello gentleman! Fascinating speech! "

. The speaker, a tall, thinner elderly man with stern eyes turned to face The Doctor. "Well, thank you. Who are you?"

The Doctor flashed his psychic paper.

"Oh! Off planet press!" The speaker said, his face grew a insincere smile. "Welcome! And who is this beautiful creature?" He said gesturing toward Laura.

"This is my assistant, Laura and I'm The Doctor."

"Well, it's a pleasant surprise to have such a high ranking member of the media on our tiny little planet. It's tough living here these days, but I assure you we will pull through."

Laura spoke up. "Well, we're a bit unclear what your obstacles are. We're so caught up in our own issues. But we've heard about your problems and were sent to see what we can do and see if we can get more people to listen to your voice."

The Doctor gave Laura a little wink and a nod. "That's right. Now why don't you give us a little more information? Who are these radicals you were talking about?"

"Let us walk and talk about this shall we? We'll go to my office."

The Doctor walked next to the speaker while Laura and his aides and guards followed.

"They've tried to attack nearly every politician. They've bombed four offices all across our settlement. And some have attack us personally by trying to assassinate us during rallies. This is such a dangerous time, Doctor."

The speaker and The Doctor made their way through the busy courtyard, while Laura listened in, filled with concern. The guards were on high alert. Laura looked around and noticed that nearly every person there had with them a personal attendant. Personal alien attendants. Humanoid creatures with rich dark orange skin and blue hair. They all wore similar outfits and were ordered around by the humans around them.

Laura quickly made her way next to the Doctor. "Doctor look around you. Doesn't this seem odd?" She whispered.

The Doctor looked around and change came over his face. He turned to face the Speaker when suddenly a shot rang out. The speaker collapsed. He was dead before he reached the ground. "Run Laura!" The Doctor shouted, while the aides and guards bent down to check on the speaker.

Laura and the Doctor ran through a panicked crowd and ducked into an office building. "Is he dead, Doctor?!"

"Yes."

"What's happening? He died right in front of me!"

"I know..." The Doctor wiped the sweat from his brow.

"Who's doing this?!"

A figure stepped out of the shadows with a loaded rifle. "That'd be me." Their orange finger gripped the trigger. "Let's take a walk."
