"What?" Roxas looked at him baffled beyond all reason. He shook off his confusion and began to get aggressive. "Who are you… and why do you look like me?" He yelled with his keyblade in hand.

It hit him. The sharp pain arose in Roxas's head. He grasped it firmly as he slowly remembered.

"V-Ven?"

"There you go!" Ven cheered raising his glass in a congratulatory manner. "I was beginning to think you forgot about your good old pal. We have so much to talk about! How are you? Have you seen someone about that anger…"

"What's going on?" He asked calmly as he paused. "Where am I? Why am I here? And why am I stuck…" He stopped talking and covered his mouth with his hand, realizing what he had just said. Roxas, full of rage, pointed his keyblade straight at Ven. "What's going on?" he yelled in anguish.

Roxas clenched his key tightly, practically shaking in the process. He was so enraged and confused that it made it hard for him to decide what to do next. All he wanted were some answers.

Ven smirked at Roxas, and pushed the key away from his face. "Sorry, I can't answer any of those questions. Well, at least not right now. I should tell you this though." He stopped his smirking and began to be serious for once. "Roxas, you've lived this life before, and you know exactly what happens at the very end. You lose a red headed friend, you abandon the organization, and you lose the one you cared about so deeply." He paused. "I know why you're willing to stay here instead of threatening me to take you back to wherever we came from. You want to change everything that happens here. You want to bring down the organization as soon as you can. You want to be able to call Axel a friend, not an enemy, but most importantly, you want to save her, don't you?"

Roxas's eye's widened at the question. He clenched his teeth together in rage, and closed his eyes, trying to suppress the only memory he ever wanted out of his mind.

"Never forget, that's the truth." She raised her hand and cupped his cheek, knowing that this was the last time she would see his face.

Roxas, still wondering what had happened, looked at her fading away. He felt something inside of him. A feeling that was familiar to him. He had felt this before with someone, but with who? He looked at her again and realized who she was, and what he had done.

Xion began to weaken, losing strength from her hand. It began to fall back to the ground, leaving the warmth she felt on Roxas's face.

"No…" He quickly reached for her hand, holding it as tight as he could with his. "Xion! Who else will I have ice cream with?"

She began to completely fade away, slowly leaving him and everything she ever knew behind.

Roxas, still grasping Xion's hand, couldn't bear the pain. He wanted her to stay. He held her hand tighter and tighter, hoping she would come back. It didn't work. Her hand began to disappear, leaving Roxas clenching his own hand. He closed his eyes in pain and sorrow. "Xi-"

"-on" He shed a few tears just thinking about her demise.

Roxas looked at Ven, who seemed to be showing a little sympathy towards him. "Roxas, you have to be careful." He warned. "You have the power to change anything you want, but you're going to find out that it'll only make things worse."

"Thanks, but I'm already being careful." Roxas wiped the tears from his eyes, and looked into Ven's eyes with determination. "I'm going to change things so that Axel, Xion and I can relax and eat ice cream together all the time. I'm going to make sure that the organization is destroyed, so don't worry because everything is going to turn out the way it should have."

Ven chuckled and shook his head in disbelief. "You're so naïve." He glanced at the graceful sky for a second. He looked back at Roxas and started to grin widely. "That's not what I meant." Ven gave him a quick wink and then began to float in the air, laughing his heart out.

Roxas watched as he ascended higher and higher into the heavens, wondering what he actually meant.

"Oh, and Roxas!" Ven screamed as he soared through the clouds. "Tomorrow's going to be a really bright day, but don't forget about the blackout!" He began to laugh even harder than before as he slowly disappeared out of sight, taking his repulsive cackle with him.

"A really bright day?" Roxas contemplated for a second as to what that might insinuate. "But it's always really bright…"

Day 26

Roxas walked into the mission room, rubbing his eyes awake. He looked around the area and saw that no one was around. He let out a big sigh. "Leave it to me to wake up so early."

Roxas walked up to a table. "These are new," he thought as he took a seat.

At that instant, a Moogle came rushing to his table, with a pencil and pad in hand. Arriving at his table, he placed the pencil on the notepad, ready to take his order. "What will you have, Kupo?"

Roxas was taken aback. Everything happened so fast he didn't know what was going on. For a second, he thought he was being attacked. "What?"

"Your order, Kupo? What will you have to eat? Today's special is Kupo's Sushi Surprise. A plate of the best sushi ever created with a side of soy sauce and wasabi, and your choice of a side salad with ranch topping, or more sushi delight!"

Roxas, still somewhat dazed and confused, looked at the Moogle. "Yea… I'll have one of those."

"Ok! Coming right up, Kupo!"

As the little moogle was flying away, Roxas remembered something. "Are there California rolls in that dish?" He asked.

Moogle stopped in his tracks. "Silly Kupo. Why would there be? A California roll isn't real sushi." He slowly turned to face Roxas, to explain why it wasn't real sushi only to realize who he was talking to.

"You!" He yelled, remembering exactly who Roxas was. "You're the Kupo who left me standing alone with those Kupo Pancakes!"

Roxas had remembered that day and began to apologize. "I'm sorry, Mr. Moogle, I didn't mean it. I just had to go to my mission. It wasn't because I don't like your pancakes. Can you forgive me?"

The Moogle looked at Roxas for a moment. He put his face next to his and examined his eyes closely. "I'm watching you, Kupo," he warned, hurrying back to make the dish.

As everything quieted down, Roxas began to hear voices heading for the grey room. One was definitely Saix, so the other had to be Xion.

"That's right," Roxas thought to himself, "I have another mission with Xion. How could I forget?"

Roxas began to smile, but stopped when he started to feel something build up inside of him. He put his hand to his chest and wondered what this odd sensation was. "What's been up with my chest lately? I keep feeling something weird in there… am I sick?"

Breaking away from his thoughts, he noticed that the two were finally walking inside. Excited, Roxas stood up and grinned widely. He began to wave and shouted at both of them. "Hey! You ready for our mission Xi…"

He stopped his shouting as "Xion" turned around to look at him. It was Xigbar.

Roxas stopped his waving and slowly put his hand down. He sat back down on his chair, and began to look disappointed instead of ecstatic.

Xigbar started walking towards Roxas as Saix left the room. "Why the sudden mood change, Kiddo?" He asked as he approached him. "You were so happy to see me, but then I turn around and suddenly I'm the bad guy? Talk about being subtle."

Roxas looked at him, not knowing what to say. "Sorry, I thought you were someone else."

"Oh, now I see what's going on. Kiddo has a little crush on Poppet, is that it?" Xigbar asked, pinching Roxas's cheek.

"What?" He said horrified and confused. "I don't want to crush Xion! Why would you even say that?"

Xigbar laughed and shook his head in disbelief. "That's right, I forgot. You don't know a thing about love." He continued his snickering as he opened a portal. "Come on rosy cheeks, your mission's with me today."

"Love? Is that something that hurts?" Roxas asked, eager to learn more.

"Well," Xigbar explained, "To some people, y'know if they're into that kinda stuff." He began to chuckle, knowing that Roxas had no idea what he was talking about.

Xigbar started for the portal only to be stopped by Roxas. "Oh, wait!" he said, remembering something. He turned around and began to yell at the top of his lungs. "Hey Mr. Moogle! I'll take that food to go!"

Xigbar put his fingers to his chin, thinking. "Y'know, that aint a bad idea at all. Yo, Moogle dude!" He said, beginning to yell, "Make that two to go will ya?"

The moogle gave them a thumbs up, and tried to finish their orders as fast as he could, leaving Roxas and Xigbar to wait a while.

Walking through the sandy streets of Agrabah, the two warriors looked around for heartless to destroy until they reached quota, so in other words, an easy day. The only hard part was finding them.

"All right," Xigbar said, "Let's find these heartless and finish this mission, so we can go home."

Roxas nodded, as he looked left and right for them. The heartless, however, were nowhere to be found.

It took the duo a few minutes until a few started to appear before them, but it wasn't enough.

"Geez, where are the little critters?" Xigbar wondered.

A couple of hours had passed and both Roxas and Xigbar weren't even close to their quota yet.

"Well, I guess it's lunchtime then." Xigbar took out his food from earlier, found a shady area and sat down to enjoy his sushi.

Roxas watched him and decided to do the same, sitting next to Xigbar.

"Xigbar?" Roxas said as he was eating his food. "What happens if we don't find enough heartless today? Will we get in trouble?"

"Heh, We'll find them." He responded. "We just have to look a lot harder."

Once Xigbar had said that, a huge crowd of heartless began to appear, surrounding the two.

"You see, we found them," Xigbar said, laughing, "And all it took was a little hard work."

The team stood up and summoned their weapons as fast as they could, ready for their fight.

Xigbar disappeared onto a high building nearby and decided to snipe the enemy. He looked closely into his scope and aimed for them. "I gotcha." He would say, before he destroyed a heartless.

Roxas saw this and quickly hit the shadows with his key, distracting them from attacking Xigbar. Then it hit him; an idea to get rid of the heartless in one blow.

"Xigbar!" Roxas screamed, "Shoot me!"

"Roxas, I think that fish is getting to your head!"

"Just do it!" Roxas yelled impatiently.

Xigbar chuckled and aimed straight at Roxas. "You don't have to ask me twice." He said to himself.

He fired his strongest bullet at him, and watched as Roxas's plan unfolded.

Roxas quickly angled his key slightly and waited. As the bullet reached the key, he deflected it towards the heartless, destroying each and every shadow in its way.

The battle was over, and the team had reached quota in less than 2 minutes. A new organization record!

Xigbar came down from the building and regrouped with Roxas. "Not bad, Kiddo," He praised.

"Thanks." Roxas responded.

"Well, we just finished our mission, so let's go home." Xigbar opened a portal back to base and began to walk towards it.

"Hey Xigbar?"

Xigbar stopped in his tracks. "Hm?"

"What would've happened if the bullet hit me?"

He turned to face him and answered. "What do you think would've happened?" He looked at Roxas, who seemed to be lost in the whole idea of dying. Xigbar let out a sigh. "You would fade away, leaving nothing behind, not even that body of yours." He then turned back around, and walked towards the portal again.

Roxas stood there watching the sky, imagining himself fading away. Imagining what would happen once he fully disappeared. Wondering if anyone would even remember him.

As these thoughts ran through his head, Roxas started to notice the sun and how bright it was.

"Tomorrow's going to be a really bright day…"

About to walk in, Xigbar noticed that Roxas was still in place. "You comin'?" He asked, trying to get his attention.

Roxas looked at Xigbar, and realized he had zoned out for a second. He started to walk towards him, feeling a small sting in his head.

"But don't forget about the blackout!"

Roxas stopped walking. He now understood exactly what Ven was talking about. The coma he was about to fall into right now, but what could he do now? It was too late.

He began to fall slowly to the ground, having lost the strength from his arms and legs. How could he have forgotten this was going to happen?

Roxas hit the ground hard as he slowly closed his eyes, entering a deep slumber. One he would not wake up from for the longest time.

Day 29

Having finished her mission for the day, Xion began to wonder where her friend might be. She hadn't seen him in a while. Was he all right?

As she returned back to the castle, she began her search for him. She checked the moogle kitchen, his room, the clock tower, but he was in neither of those places. Where was he?

Having passed Saix earlier, she decided to ask him what had happened to Roxas.

"Roxas has fallen into a deep slumber," Saix explained, "This need not concern you Xion. You should be focusing more on your missions than this petty 'Friendship'?" Saix gave her a look of disgust and walked away.

Roxas had fallen into a deep slumber? Xion was now very concerned. She quickly made her way to the health room, where if you were ill, the dusks would heal you back to perfection.

There he was, asleep. What had happened? Xion took a seat next to his bedside and looked at him. "Roxas," she began, "how did this happen to you? I was looking all over for you, but I never thought you would end up here." She sat there as she watched her friend start to groan quietly in pain. Xion watched in grief, not knowing what to do. She then looked at his hands and remembered when he had grasped her hand. How happy it made her feel, and how comforting it was. Then it hit her. Maybe if she held his hand, Roxas would feel better. She reached out and intertwined her fingers with his. It felt nice, but Roxas was still aching. Worried, Xion decided to hold his hand with both hands as tight as she could, to let him know that everything was all right, and that she was right there with him.

Roxas began to calm down. He stopped his groaning and started to breathe normally. Xion was relieved that Roxas was feeling a little better. She brought his hand to her lap and stared at Roxas's eyes. "Roxas," she spoke quietly, "please get better soon, ok? So we can visit other worlds together, and eat our Sea Salts on the clock tower like always." She paused and put a smile on her face. "I miss you, Roxas, so please… wake up soon."

She sat there, still holding his hand, not wanting to let go. Not wanting to leave his side. Not wanting the warm feeling in her chest to leave. So she sat there, until she couldn't stay awake any longer.
