Chapter 10: Robots and Killers
Ever since Peter saw the News about Carnage being in New Townsville, he's been out patrolling despite Prof. Utonium's protests.
'They don't know him like I do.' Spider-Man thought landing on the side of a building as he ran across it before jumping off and shooting a web line. 'I can't have the girls fight someone like him.'
Carnage was a monster.
No super powers.
No resources.
He just killed because he could.
Spider-Man sighed as he remembered something Carnage said when he caught him.

-Three Months Ago-
"Got you." Spider-Man was panting as his costume was torn while Cletus was tied up in a web cocoon.
"Ah the tricky spider." Cletus mocked with an insane laugh. "Oh did I ever tell you the first time I killed someone?"
"Tell that to your psychiatrist, not me." Spider-Man went to web his mouth shut but Cletus continued.
"It was my Grandmother."
That caused Spider-Man to pause. "What?" He asked sounding horrified.
"You see I once saw a dog die on the road." Cletus began. "And as I saw the light die I became entranced in how beautiful it was for one to realize that their time was up. So I needed to learn more."
"By killing your family member?!" Spider-Man shouted at him.
Cletus just smiled. "She was old, and was going to die anyways." He said chuckling. "All i did was speed the time up and pushed her down the stairs when I was nine." Now Cletus looked sad. "But by the time I got down there the light was already gone."
Having enough, Spider-Man just webbed his mouth shut.
"You're a real piece of work." He said as he swung off.

Coming out of his memories, Spider-Man grimaced as he saw a new crime scene with another body and he landed there as he saw Officer Makoto. "Another kill?" He asked as he saw the message. 'Carnage Rulez.'
"Yeah." Makoto looked sickened and Spider-Man saw why when he saw that the victim was a six year old girl.
"Damnit." Spider-Man clenched his fist. 'If I just found him, she would still be alive.'
"Spider-Man, is there anything you know about this?" Officer Makoto asked curiously. "You've caught the Carnage Killer before."
"Because he wasn't prepared for me." Spider-Man said with a sigh. "This time he's daring me to find him... It's my fault."
"How is this your fault?" Officer Makoto asked with a weird look.
"If I never came to New Townsville, Cletus would still be in New York." Spider-Man said as he looked back at the message.
"The way I see it, the one who's at fault is this Cletus." Officer Makoto said to him. "Stop by the precint when you have the chance, we're trying to find a pattern-."
"Pattern?" Spider-Man shook his head. "Cassidy has no pattern, he's random like that-." Then he stopped. "Where was the first kill?"
"A few blocks from here." Officer Makoto answered.
"Yes in the same neighborhood." Spider-Man looked to the Officer. "And there's a manhole cover in both this alley and the first one."
"The sewers?" Officer Makoto's eyes widened. "No wonder nobody's seen him."
"I'll go look for him." Spider-Man said as he lifted the manhole cover. "Think you can get SWAT ready?"
"Got it."

The next morning, Peter was in class with his arms crossed, angry that they didn't find Carnage, but they found some blood stains down there showing that he has been using the sewers to get around.
After a second he gripped the sides of his desk.
"Peter?" Peter turned to see Miyako sitting next to him. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine." Peter said with a fake smile. "Why?"
Karou answered as she sat nearby. "Because the desk is cracking under your hands."
Peter blinked and looked down only to sigh. "Sorry, but Kassidy got another victim last night." He said clasping his hands. "A little kid."
"That tears it." Momoko said with a determined look. "We're looking for this guy-."
"You girls haven't faced anyone like him." Peter said with a look. "He's not like Mojo or Fuzzy! He's not out to take over the world, he's just killing."
'Mostly because he knows that it bothers me.' Peter thought.
At first it was because he was bored, but since Spider-Man stopped him, he wants to kill him, but first he wants to break him.
"He's a normal guy, we can take him." Karou said a little angry that Peter doesn't think they can handle it.
"What if he takes a hostage?" Peter asked with a glare. "Are you prepared for him to kill someone in front of you? To see him laugh as he does it?"
"Geez, you're making him sound like Joker." Momoko remarked.
"All he needs is a purple suit and he is." Peter answered. "I'm working with the Police on this one... Thankfully they don't shoot at me like the NYPD, but we found out that he's using the Sewers to get around."
They would've said more but someone else walked in.
It was a girl their age wearing a yellow crown and a pink royal dress.
"What the hell?" Peter whispered.
"Ah that's Princess Morbucks." Karou said with disdain. "Very rich and spoiled rotten."
"Good morning." Princess said only to narrow her eyes when nobody answered.
In fact, they had a magazine article with news in it.
"Did you guys see?"
"Oh you mean about Spidey and the Powerpuff Girls?"
"Yeah they stopped a giant Rhino a few days ago."
"Hey what about my dress?" Princess tried to get their attention. "You won't believe how much I paid for it."
"This article is all about them."
"Wow, so cool." A random girl said before smiling slyly. "And that spandex doesn't leave much to the imagination."
Peter found himself blushing as he heard that.
"They protect New Townsville everyday."
"They're great."
Princess frowned. "Stupid Powerpuff Girls and stupid Spider-Man."
"Good grief." Peter muttered before he saw Momoko and Karou grin. "What do you two have planned?"
"Nothing." Karou said as Momoko faked looking sleepy.
"Hey look Karou." Princess walked up to them. "Guess how much this dress caused me."
Karou looked at her before sneezing and wiping her nose on Princess's dress.
"GAH!" Princess screamed and pulled her dress back. "YOU'RE GOING TO GET MY CLEANING BILL FOR THAT!"
Peter's shoulders shook a bit.
"Hey Momoko, this dress cost a lot, probably more than your whole house." Princess said before Momoko faked snoring. "SHE'S ASLEEP?!"
"She was up late last night studying." Miyako played along to help with the joke. "Momoko is a pretty dedicated student."
Princess frowned before smiling. "What about you Peter?"
"Huh?" Peter took out headphones that he placed in his ears during the whole thing. "What?"
Princess's eyes twitched before Momoko faked a yawn. "Huh? Who are you?"
"Gah." Princess had wide eyes as she rapidly turned white.
Princess just left for her seat as the girls chuckled.
"That was wrong." Peter said with a chuckle.
"Didn't stop you from joining in." Karou said with a smile.
"True." Peter conceded.
"And it's nice to hear you laugh again." Miyako said happily. "You've been way too serious the last few days."
Peter frowned. "I-... I just want to get Kassidy back off the streets." He confessed looking down. "He could be killing someone right now and I'm not out there stopping him."
The girls went quiet at that thought.
"Which is why we should help." Momoko said looking down. "We have a responsibility to do this as well."
Peter looked at them.
He truly didn't want them to face someone like the Carnage Killer.
But they're superheroes as well and they'll need to face the reality of someone like this someday.
"... Alright." Peter conceded. "We'll keep looking tonight."

"What's the matter with everyone?!" Princess was stomping around in her room that night. "I buy the most expensive dress in the whole world and nobody even gives me a second glance. Obviously, nobody at school has any class."
She jumped on her couch as a white furred cat moved out of the way.
"It's those stupid Powerpuff Girls and that stupid web head that anybody cares about." Princess muttered as her cat crawled in her lap.
Then the clock rang.
"Ah movie time!" Princess ran out and came back with a bowl of Popcorn. "This will take my mind off the Powerpuff Girls."
As she sat down she looked at her cat before frowning. "I still wonder what that black light that hit us two months ago." She said before shrugging. "Ah well."
Pressing the remote a movie was starting up before a news show replaced it. "We interrupt our usual programming for this special report."
As it showed the Powerpuff Girls and Spider-Man, Princess froze with her eyes widening. "What the heck?! They're everywhere!"
"The day was saved yet again from a rampaging human in a Rhino suit by Spider-Man and the Powerpuff Girls, so please enjoy this two hour documentary showing their various deeds." The man on the screen said as it switched to different scenes that people picked out.
Princess glared. "T-They don't deserve that attention!" She said not noticing how her cat jumped into her lap again. "I do."
She slammed her fist onto her cats tail by mistake.
As the cat yowled, a dark aura surrounded Princess as her eyes changed from amythist to yellow and her hair grew longer and turned a blood red color as she gave an insane grin.
"You'll see, I'll be famous too." She said as she floated up. "I'll be more famous than all four of you put together."

Officer Makoto was drinking some coffee to keep himself awake as he stood on a roof.
"Was it Harvey Dent or Joker?" A dark voice asked before a smack resounded in the air. "Ow! Damnit Buttercup, you ruined the joke."
"It was a lame joke." Buttercup said as the girls landed while Spider-Man rubbed the back of his head.
"I thought it was funny." Bubbles said earning a nod from Spider-Man.
"See? She gets my humor."
Makoto coughed gaining their attention. "Thanks for coming Spider-Man, there's been a few developments on the case."
"How is it?" Spider-Man asked no longer joking around.
"We have officers and K9-Units all in the sewers to flush Kassidy out." Makoto answered. "I think we can handle this one, but I want you to be nearby just in case."
"Can do Officer!" Blossom had a grin. "The Powerpuff Girls are on it."
Officer Makoto raised an eyebrow at that.
Sure, he thinks that the girls do a good job, but he wasn't sure if they faced someone like this.
A loud stomp caused them to jump and turn as they saw a giant, dark robot with a yellow crown symbol on its chest, rampaging through the city.
"What the hell?" Spider-Man looked at Officer Makoto. "Seriously? What is with the Giant Robots and Japan?"
"No clue, but I'm beginning to think all the weirdness followed me from Endsville." Officer Makoto muttered as he pinched his nose in frustration.
"You're from Endsville?" Bubbles asked in confusion.
"Excuse me?" Spider-Man asked in confusion. "Endsville?"
"A small Japanese town that's an hour away from New Townsville." Officer Makoto answered. "After all the weirdness I moved to New Townsville, hoping to find some sense of normality."
"We'll take care of this." Blossom said as she and Buttercup took off.
"Bye Officer!" Bubbles grabbed Spider-Man and flew after them.
"We'll catch up!" Spider-Man promised.

"This robot cost me even more than my dress." Princess said as she had a controller in her hands while a small rocket launcher was on her back. "But it will be worth it."
She had images of people praising her for 'stopping' the robot.
"They'll forget all about the Powerpuff Girls and Spider-Man when I destroy the robot." Then Princess chuckled. "Of course they don't know that I'm the one controlling it."

"Alright, so how do we do this?" Spider-Man asked as they got closer.
"Just beat it until it goes down." Buttercup had electricity arcing through her fingers.
"Alright, Bubbles you use your Sonic Scream to-." Blossom began only for a voice to interrupt her.
"Attention Giant Robot!" They turned to see another girl flying in front of the Robot.
Spider-Man tilted his head to the side as he saw the same crown in her hair that was on the robot. 'The one controlling it?'
"Your reign of terror, is over!" With that the girl took a Rocket Launcher off her back and fired it at the robot.
As it disappeared into smoke, the girl turned to the crowd.
"Don't worry I saved the day-." Then she stopped as the robot continued on.
"Come on!" Blossom fired heat vision at the robot.
"Got it." Buttercup began harnessing electricity while Spider-Man grabbed a Web Grenade.
Bubbles breathed in only for the girl to get in front of them. "Hey hold it!" She said angrily. "I got here first so I have dibs on defeating the robot-."
"You mean the robot you control?" Spider-Man asked causing the girl to pale a bit while Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup looked at Spider-Man.
"What are you talking about?" Bubbles asked earning a deadpanned look.
"I'm not controlling the robot." Princess said looking away. "Stop throwing accusations around."
"Oh really?" Spider-Man gave her a look. "Then why does the robot have a crown emblem that suspiciously looks like the crown you're wearing?"
By that point, the Powerpuff Girls were glaring at Princess.
"He has good fashion sense?" Princess tried weakly.
"Why are you doing this?" Blossom asked in a tone that told Princess that she didn't buy it.
"... I wanted attention, so I built a giant robot and planned to save the city-." Princess began only for all four of them to look at her in disbelief.
"You- You did this for attention?" Spider-Man glared at her. "You endangered innocent people while there's a serial killer on the loose distracting us from catching him for some goddamn attention?!"
"I'm with Spidey on this one." Buttercup said clenching her fists. "That was stupid."
"We'll deal with you after the robot." Bubbles said showing some anger as they all headed for the robot.
"Oh no you don't!" Princess shot her rocket launcher at them and Spider-Man got out of Bubbles grip and shot a web line at the rocket before attatching another line on Princess. "Ewe-!"
"Here you can have this back!" Spider-Man joked as the missile slammed into Princess, sending her flying. "You girls handle the robot, I'll deal with Miss Attention here."
"Got it!" Blossom said as the girls took off while Princess shook her head.
"You little insect!"
"It's Arachnid." Spider-Man shot back.

"Bubbles, use your Sonic Scream, Buttercup fry its circuits." Blossom ordered as she shot her heat vision towards the arm, but the robot reached out and grabbed her. "Oh no you don't!"
Firing heat vision again, Blossom seared the hand off before catching it as it fell towards the streets.
"GO DOWN!" Bubbles screeched as the Robot took a few steps back its sensors fuzzing from the soundwave and that was before Buttercup came forward with her hands sparking.
"Take this!" She shot electricity at the robot causing it to stumble.
Seeing how Bubbles and Buttercup had it, Blossom checked on Spider-Man before flying towards him.

Shooting webs at each of the rockets that Princess fired, Spider-Man was getting annoyed. "How many does she have in there?!" He muttered as he threw a web grenade managing to catch the opening of the rocket launcher and the gun exploded since the rocket couldn't go anywhere.
"Do you know how expensive that rocket launcher was?!" Princess shouted before Spider-Man webbed her hand to a building.
"Not as expensive as your jail bail." Spider-Man taunted as he reared his fist back.
"You wouldn't hit a girl, would you?" Princess quickly asked as Spider-Man paused before seeing something that caused him to smile.
"No I wouldn't." Spider-Man said causing Princess to smirk. "She would though."
Blinking in confusion, Princess turned to be socked in the jaw by Blossom.
"Nice timing." Spider-Man said as Princess was unconscious.
"No problem." Blossom said turning back to the robot to see that Bubbles and Buttercup had it as scraps now. "Come on, let's get her to Prof. Utonium."

Prof. Utonium was using the gun he used earlier on Fuzzy on Princess. "Alright it's working this time, so she should be turning back to normal."
"Great." Poochie barked since Ken was still asleep.
Spider-Man grinned before he looked surprised as the girl turned to Princess Morbucks. "No way."
"Princess?!" Buttercup looked surprised.
"How did we not recognize her?" Bubbles asked in confusion before Spider-Man groaned.
"Of course, Chemical Z masks your girls identities so it must do the same for everyone else." Spider-Man explained as Prof. Utonium gave a nod.
"That would be the most logical explanation." Prof. Utonium said before picking Poochie up as he sniffed Princess. "There, now Poochie has her scent if she turns back again."
Then the computer screens turned on to show the Mayor. "Professor, the police found the Carnage Killer!"
"That's great-." Prof. Utonium began before the Mayor continued.
"He's holding a kid hostage and surrounded by Police!"
"We need to go!" Blossom said as they picked Princess up, knowing it would be bad if she woke up in the Professor's lab.

After making a quick stop to break into Princess's house and toss her onto her own bed, the girls and Spidey rushed to the meeting spot that Makoto wanted them in only to see Kletus holding another kid hostage.
"That's him?" Blossom asked as Spider-Man landed next to Makoto.
"It is." Spider-Man said with a nod.
On seeing Spider-Man, Kletus grinned widely. "Spidey, how good to see you again, you know you never let me finish my story I was telling you."
"You mean about how you killed your own Grandmother?" Spider-Man asked causing Bubbles to gasp considering how she lived with her Grandmother.
"Like I said, she was dying anyway." Kletus said holding a knife to the kids neck.
"You have no options Kletus!" Officer Makoto said through a Megaphone. "Put the kid down and surrender."
"Why?" Kletus asked with a grin, the blade never leaving the kids throat. "So we all can go back to pretending to be what we are? To hide our true selves? I'm saving you."
"You're just a criminal!" Buttercup shouted.
Kletus laughed at that. "Oh aren't we all?" He asked pressing the knife against the kids throat cutting it a bit as some blood leaked. "We hide behind the lies of morality and law. But I see the truth. I see what we are truly capable of. That's why life is nothing more than a game."
Spider-Man saw the fear in the kids eyes, he knew that if he tried to console the kid, Kletus slide the knife, killing the kid.
'How?' Spider-Man thought before his eyes widened. 'Of course.'
"If life is like a game, then why are you ending it too soon?" He questioned causing everyone to look at him in confusion.
"Spidey?" Bubbles asked wondering what he was doing.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Kassidy asked curiously.
"You're saying that you see the truth? What if that truth is but another lie?" Spider-Man was bullshitting his way through this, trying to keep Kletus distracted. "What if there's an even greater truth?"
"What are you doing?" Officer Makoto whispered.
"Trust me." Spider-Man whispered back.
"You said that you wanted to see a light die, but how can you do that when you never truly witnessed it?" Spider-Man asked with his arms crossed but he was pulling something out of one of the new pockets on his arms that the Professor suggested. 'Alright, there's no time to get the kid free, so I have to try something else. And pray that it works.'
"That's true-." Kletus began only for the knife to slide forward, away from the kids neck to his surprise. "Wha?!"
Spider-Man shot a web line taking the knife away as he shot forward, kicking Kletus back. "Too bad you'll never find out."
"How?!" Kletus looked shocked as the officers surged towards him, putting handcuffs on him. "How did you get the knife to move?"
Spider-Man held a small trigger device in his hands. "My Anti-Magnetic device." He said proudly. "I designed it when I first fought the Vulture and I just realized that it could be used as a magnet as well, while not powerful enough to make you let go of the knife, it was powerful enough to pull it away from the kids throat."
"Nice one." Blossom complimented as the police loaded Cletus into the car while the kid was being taken to paramedics to get the small cut on his throat checked out.
"You've had that for how long?" Buttercup asked curiously.
"Like I said, the first time I fought Vulture, he managed to beat me until I realized his suit harnassed magnetic power, so I made it." Spider-Man said. "Me talking was to just keep him distracted while I went for it."
"It was risky." Officer Makoto told him.
"I know." Spider-Man gave a nod. "But it was the only thing I could think of that could get the kid out alive."
"And it worked." Bubbles told him.
"At least that maniac is off the streets." Officer Makoto gave a small grin. "Good job."
"It was nothing." Spider-Man still wasn't used to the Police being nice to him and a lot of the officers were giving him nods of thanks and had a look of respect.
"Come on, we should get home." Blossom said as they flew off while Spider-Man swung after them, happy that Carnage was locked up again.

Alright, sorry for only having a short scene with Carnage, but I couldn't really think of a good way to portray him without his powers realistically in this setting.
Oh and I used some traits from the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Game because I liked how they portrayed Kassidy a bit.
And I hope you enjoyed Morbuck's cameo and the device Spidey used... It actually appeared in Spider-Man Issue 2 and made a small reappearance in Issue 7, but Vulture countered it so it never made another appearance.
But I liked it and I figured that if it works to counter magnetic effects, then it could act like a magnet as well considering how two magnets cancel each other out.
Now sorry for the long wait on this story and I hope chapter made up for it.

Coldblue: Thanks and I hope you liked how I had Spidey use his brain to save the hostage from Carnage in this one. Sorry for the lack of civilian lives, I'm a little at lost for how to do them considering they rarely show it in the PPGZ show. The most I know is that Momoko has a little sister that is obsessed with heroes liker her named Casey, Miyako lives with her Grandma and Karou's Dad is a masked wrestler along with living with two brothers. Now for your questions. 1) Well not really, they'll be their own team, not the Avengers and I have a name picked out for them and it will be revealed when the time comes. 2) They will. 3) Prison first, Carnage won't come for awhile. 4) Magneto. 5) Oh she will. 6) It will overtime. 7) I did and I'm happy it's getting more reviews already. 8) That will be revealed later on. 9) No, but I may have Toxin join them in the future, not sure about that.
Phantom Fan: Thanks and I hoped you liked how I did the scene with Carnage as well as what could happen if the Police worked with Spider-Man instead of shooting him on sight.
KirbyManiac2: Sorry for not showing much of him, until he gets his powers he won't really be much of a threat to the girls.
Ddragon21: He is in the beginning, but as time goes on he'll get better. He actually did teach a class one time after going off on Yellow Jacket that he was the original teen hero while he was asking Beast to teach a class of teenagers who had troubled pasts... Spidey did regret teaching them a bit. And more criminals will overtime. Right now it's being kept all hush-hush.
S.R.J.S Fangirl from PL: Sorry but this is one story without Danny Phantom, I've done a lot of stories with him already and I want to try one without him in it.
