Chapter 11: Paper Mache Part 1
A lone person stood in a room that had walls filled with Newspaper clippings.
And they were all of Spider-Man.
Good Press. Bad Press.
Even romance rumors of him being with one of the Powerpuff Girls or something outlandish like him having an affair with Susan Storm.
The person was very thin and the silhoutte showed to be a woman with pale skin, black hair and yellow eyes, while wearing a purple dress.
"Oh Spidey, nobody understands me." She said with a voice of longing.
She remembered a week ago, Spider-Man saved her from the path of Rhino as he was on a rampage before getting her to the police.
Since then she was obsessed with him.
She used to be obsessed with an actor named Bobby Carr, something that caused her to run away from home due to her family trying to drop her off at a Hospital to get her help, but this was better.
"I didn't think I was worth saving but you saved me." She said touching a picture.
Then she glared at the romance rumors papers before her fingers became blades and she sliced through them in anger.
"And you shouldn't let anyone lead you astray." She said remembering how she got these weird powers from some sort of black light. "But I'll show you what I mean."

Peter leaned over the back of the couch while Karou was watching sports and Momoko was reading a book.
What surprised Peter was the fact that it was a Chemistry book.
"I thought you liked Comics." Peter said in confusion.
Momoko chuckled. "I do, but I read other books to, how do you think I have straight A's?"
"... You have straight A's?" Peter asked in disbelief earning a glare from Momoko.
"Well with how she acts sometimes you wouldn't believe it." Karou agreed as Momoko turned from them with a huff.
"Just because I read comics doesn't make me an airhead." Momoko said to them.
"Could've fooled me." Karou quipped grinning to show she was kidding as Momoko gave her a mock glare.
Then Momoko looked over to see Miyako sitting in a corner away from them. "Hey Miyako, you want to go shopping later?"
"No thanks." Miyako said in a low voice as she kept to herself.
"What's with her?" Karou asked as she looked from the game worried.
Peter frowned remembering how she acted like that after they caught the Carnage Killer three days ago.
Out of all of them, Miyako was the most innocent and sees the good in everything.
It's not necessarily a bad thing, but in this line of work keeping that kind of outlook would be dangerous to everyone.
It was one of the reasons he didn't want the girls to face Cletus but there was no way around it.
"I think she's still in shock from meeting Cletus." Peter whispered gaining the undivided attention of Momoko and Karou.
"Of course, Miyako lives with her Grandmother." Momoko said with a snap of her fingers. "So hearing this guy's tale of killing his own Grandmother must've scared her."
"Stop talking like I'm not in the room." Miyako said showing some anger.
"Well you're not talking with us." Karou said trying to help her. "How do expect us to react?"
"Miyako, we're still scared of what happened as well." Momoko said not wanting an arguement to break out. "You, Karou and I barely did anything when we met the guy."
"Stop bringing him up." Miyako shouted surprising them before she ran out of the room.
"Miyako." Momoko tried to call out but the door slammed as Miyako ran out. "Come on, we better go-."
"I think she needs some time to process this." Karou said to Momoko.
"But we can't just leave her alone." Momoko argued, worried about her.
"Karou's right." Peter said remembering the first time he met Cletus, he was a wreck in interacting with people. "She does need some time, but that doesn't mean that we leave her alone for too long, how about we just not bring Cletus up for awhile?"
"That's a good idea." Professor Utonium walked into the room after seeing Miyako run out the front door. "You girls might be able to put what happened behind you but everyone handles a situation like this differently. So you can't just expect Miyako to put it behind her like you do."
Peter sighed before leaving the room as Prof. Utonium was talking to the girls before he saw Ken and Poochie messing with a machine. "What are you two up to?"
"Oh hey Peter." Ken greeted as he looked at his Cousin. "I'm trying to make something that could help with your superheroeing."
"Really?" Peter looked interested. "What is it?"
Poochie stood on his hind legs in excitement. "It's a backpack." He said causing Peter to blink.
"And how would a backpack help?" Peter asked in confusion before Ken pressed a button and two long metalic spider legs shot out. "Whoa."
"It's only halfway done and both Poochie and I have been working on it for awhile." Ken explained with a sheepish smile. "We kind of got the idea from seeing Octavius on the News."
"This is awesome." Peter said poking the legs before they retracted. "Thanks Ken. You too Poochie."
"Always happy to help." Poochie barked.
"It should be a week before we're finished and ready for a field test." Ken said as Peter gave a nod. "Hey, is Miyako okay?"
Peter winced. "She's still trying to get over what Cletus said and did."
"No surprise there." Ken said shaking his head. "She's more happy prone and innocent than I am and I'm eight."
Poochie's ears dropped as he thought about it. "I'm sure she'll be back to her bubbly self in no time." He said causing Peter to chuckle.
"Nice pun." Peter said referring to her hero name before he sighed. "I think I'm going to go on a patrol."
"Alright, oh and your Spider-Tracers and Cryo-Spiders are done, Dad finished them two days ago." Ken said causing Peter to grin.
"Sweet." Peter walked up to where his suit was and pulled it on before pocketing the Web Grenades, Cryo-Spiders and Spider-Tracers in his belt.
He was really feeling like a superhero now with all the toys he has.
... Uh Gadgets. He meant Gadgets.

Miyako was in the park by herself as she sat on a bench trying not to shake.
'"You mean about how you killed your own Grandmother?"
"Like I said, she was dying anyway."
She just couldn't believe that anyone could be so cruel.
Her Grandmother always taught her to see the good in everyone. To always be friendly with them.
But on meeting Carnage, she could only see madness and evil.
It scared her that there were people like that in the world.
Sure with the other villains they fought, they had some good in them that she could see.
But Carnage?
None.
Miyako's fists clenched on her knees.
Why couldn't she stop thinking about it?
Then Miyako stopped at hearing a rustle in a bush near her and she looked at it curiously before hearing a whimper in there.
Standing up, Miyako looked inside the bush only to gasp at what she saw.

Spider-Man landed on the roof the the NTPD (New Townsville Police Department) as he looked over the city.
"I just came up here for a smoke, I didn't expect to see you up here." Looking over his shoulder, Spider-Man smiled a bit as he saw Officer Makoto. "Anything wrong?"
"Not really." Spider-Man said before sighing. "Meeting Kassidy really affected Bubbles."
Makoto raised an eyebrow as he lit his cigarette. "I kind of expected that from all of the girls to be honest."
"Yeah." Spider-Man looked down to see people walking the streets again, no longer fearing that Carnage was out there. "I just don't know how to snap Bubbles out of it."
"Well I don't have any kids, so I can't help you there." Makoto said blowing some smoke out. "But she could just need a friend."
"... Thanks." Spider-Man said before chuckling. "You do know that might kill you right?"
Makoto shrugged. "Something has to." He said before they both saw a car speed by.
"You officers have it or should I?" Spider-Man asked not wanting to jepordize the relationship between him and the Police here.
"I'm sure we got it, but they won't say no to a little help." Makoto said and that was all that Spider-Man needed as he swung off to catch up.

"Hello, this is your friendly neighborhood windshield inspector." Spider-Man joked as he landed on the hood. "And I have to say this is a very filthy one so I'll have to give you an F-."
He was cut off by the windshield wipers spraying water at him and since it wasn't harming him his Spider-Sense didn't go off.
"Really?" Spider-Man broke the wiper off before he did a flip and shot a webline as he shot through the drivers window, knocking the driver into the passenger seat. "Wow this is really comfortable." Spidey said as he grabbed the wheel to avoid hitting anyone. "You really went all out in the comfort of this car didn't you?"
The thug went to raise a fist before Spider-Man slammed on the break causing the man to hit his face on the windshield knocking him out.
"And that is how we New Yorkers do it." Spider-Man chuckled since his adhesive ability kept him in place before climbing out the window to see the Police Officers. "He's all yours Officers."
As Spider-Man went to swing off, he stopped at feeling his Spider-Sense going off causing him to turn and look around seeing nothing.
"Spidey, you alright?" One of the Officers asked.
"Yeah, just thought I heard something." Spider-Man lied as he swung off.
He didn't notice the girl watching from the rooftops before she disappeared.

Inside the bush, Miyako found a purple dog with black spots shivering as he laid there looking a little injured from having scratches on him.
"Oh you poor thing." Miyako picked him up as the dog tensed before Miyako scratched his head between the long black ears causing him to relax. "You're a cute little fella aren't you?"
The dog looked at her curiously before Miyako saw a collar with a name on it.
"Courage?" Miyako asked causing the dog to blink. "That's a wonderful name for you."
Courage gave a grin at hearing that showing a big hole in one of his teeth although he was a bit wary.
Ever since a white light hit him two months ago, he's been in hiding because people freaked out about how much different he looked from being a normal dog. Especially with being able to stand on his hind legs and sometimes make human words come out of his mouth.
He used to have a nice family but they died of old age a week before the light happened.

Now Spider-Man was annoyed, everytime he stopped in an alley to take his mask off and change back, his Spider-Sense has been going off but there was nothing here.
"What's going on here, I don't get false alarms." Spider-Man said swinging up to a building as his Spider-Sense went on full blast. "Or do I? But still am I getting followed or-."
That was when Spider-Man saw movement in the shadows as he tensed.
"You might as well come out." Spider-Man said before he saw a girl walking towards him. "And you are?"
The girl smiled a bit shyly. "Piper Dali." She said in English.
Now Spider-Man blinked at that. "You on vacation in Japan?" He asked wondering why she was following him.
"Yeah." Piper answered not wanting to give out why she was really in Japan. "I also wanted to thank you."
"Thank me?" Spider-Man asked now feeling curious. "For what?"
Piper frowned for a second before remembering that Spider-Man saved people everday and he did have Rhino to deal with at the time. "You saved me from being crushed by that Rhino."
Now Spider-Man snapped his fingers. "Right." He said remembering that he was too focused on not dying but he did save someone. "It's what heroes do."
"I know." Piper said with a smile. "And I want to be one too."
"You do?" Spider-Man asked now feeling worried about her getting into more trouble before he saw her body become flat and she slitthered across the ground and turned back to normal in front of him. "Huh?!"
"Please teach me." Piper requested with a smile. "When I got my powers, I was inspired to use them to help people."
"Well that's good." Spider-Man said sounding a little relieved. "Well New Townsville could always use some heroes considering the villains that are popping up... You have a superhero name?"
"Paper Doll." Piper said causing Spider-Man to blink.
"Well that explains the flat body power." He said before giving a nod. "Well alright then welcome to Superheroing 101."
Piper squealed and gave Spider-Man a hug. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She said blushing a bit from hugging her idol.
"Um no problem?" Spider-Man said. "Now the best advice I can give is that with Great Power-."
"Comes Great Responsibility." Piper finished surprising Spider-Man.
"Uh yeah, how do you know that?" Spider-Man questioned causing Piper to blush again.
"You had an interview after catching Cassidy the first time." Piper explained. "When I decided to want to be a Superhero I looked up the others and saw the interview, it's one of the reasons I asked you to teach me."
"That's good to hear." Spider-Man said but on the inside he was a little worried due to his Spider-Sense screaming danger at him.
Her explanation made sense and he was willing to give her a chance unless she did something that warranted investigation.
A scream caused both of them to turn towards the direction it was coming from.
"Alright lesson two." Spider-Man said shooting a web line. "Catching criminals, lets see how you do in the field."
"Yes sir." Piper said jumping after him as her body became flat to ride the wind.

Poochie however was sniffing the air as he walked towards the girls.
"Something the matter, Poochie?" Momoko asked at seeing that.
"I don't know." Poochie remarked. "I think I smell Black Z-Rays but I'm not certain."
"Black Z-Rays?" Karou asked hoping for a fight. "You think it's Mojo, Fuzzy or Princess?"
"No, it's something new." Poochie said before frowning. "Now I'm smelling White Z-Rays-."
"I'm back." Miyako came in holding Courage.
"Um Miyako, why do you have a dog?" Momoko asked as Poochie walked up to Courage sniffing him causing Courage to be a little tense.
"I was hoping that Grandma will let me keep him." Miyako said with a smile. "Isn't he the cutest?"
"He looks weird." Karou said with a raised eyebrow. "I mean what dog is purple-?"
"He has White Z-Rays." Poochie said causing the girls to go silent as they looked at Courage inently before seeing a white aura surrounding him.
"I am definitely keeping him now." Miyako said hugging Courage causing him to smile.
"Hey does he have any powers?" Momoko asked with a smile. "If he does then we'll have our own Superdog for the team."
Courage now looked a bit pale before he frowned. "Team?" He asked causing everyone to look at him in surprise.
"You can talk?" Karou asked him.
Then Courage made a few dog noises in which Poochie translated. "He says he can say only a few words."
"That's still pretty cool." Miyako said causing Courage to smile again.
"Hey Poochie, you think the Black Z-Ray was perhaps a false alarm?" Momoko asked before Poochie shook his head.
"I can still smell it."
"Then let's go find out who it is." Karou said as they pressed their belts causing Courage to gape at seeing them change.

"Hi I'm out of arch-enemies, would you mind being mine?" Spider-Man asked as he jumped down there in a group of five men kicking one into the wall as he webbed them there. "On second thought I think that may be a bit out of your capabilities."
"It's the bug-!" One of them shouted before Piper landed behind them and sliced through one of their guns with her finger.
"And the Paper Doll." Piper said with a grin as she wrapped around one of them leaving Spider-Man to web the last three up as he approached the person they were robbing to see it was an unconcious man.
"Well they didn't kill him so that's good-." Spider-Man turned to see the guy Piper was wrapped around flat on the ground and when he says flat, he means literally. "What did you do to him?!"
"I left enough room for air to get to his lungs." Piper said with a grin. "He'll turn back to normal in a few moments, enough time for the police to get here."
"That's..." Spider-Man didn't want to say creepy. "Some power."
"Thank you." Piper said before Spider-Man's phone rang and he answered it.
"Welcome to the Web Head Pizza Place, you order and I'll get it to you in thirty minutes or less." Spider-Man said in a cheap italian accent as Piper laughed.
"Spidey, Poochie detected Black Z-Rays." Blossom's voice came through the phone causing Peter to stop joking around. "Meet up with us."
Spider-Man gave a nod. "It's probably Mojo, sure I'll meet you girls there." He said not noticing how Piper tensed at that. "Oh and I think I found someone to join the team as well."
Again he wasn't sure about this but he'd rather keep an eye on Piper, plus maybe the girls could get a better reading on her.
"Really?" Blossom sounded happy.
"Yeah, I just saw how she did in the field and she has some power." Spider-Man said causing Piper to smile. "Where do we meet up at?"
"Townsville Tower."
"Alright, I'll be there in a sec." Spider-Man said before looking at Piper. "You ready?"
Piper gave a nod.

It only took a few minutes to get there and Spider-Man was surprised to find Bubbles there. "Sorry I'm late." He said before Piper landed next to him. "Girls this is Paper Doll. Paper Doll this is Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup."
"It's nice to meet you-." Blossom said before she tensed at seeing a black aura surrounding Piper.
"Thanks." Piper said not noticing her tense and Bubbles and Buttercup did the same.
"So what's-?" Spider-Man noticed them tensing. "Girls?"
"Hey Paper Doll, out of curiosity how did you get your powers?" Buttercup asked as electricity arched around her fingers.
"A black light hit me why?" Piper asked as Spider-Man's eyes widened behind his mask.
'Oh crap.'
"No reason." Spider-Man interjected before a fight could break out as he gave the girls a look. "It's just that you remember Mojo and Fuzzy as well as the girl with the robot?"
Piper gave a nod.
"They got their powers from a Black Light as well-." Spider-Man said and Piper backed up.
"B-But I'm not like them." She said sounding hurt.
"I didn't say that." Spider-Man said quickly. "We just need to scan you to make sure there were no side-effects, you could be dying for all we know."
That right there was a lie, they wanted to scan her psyche but it might make it worse if they did.
"We just want to help." Bubbles said hoping to help her.
"You said that you wanted to be a hero?" Spider-Man remembering how she asked him to train her and Piper gave a nod. "Then trust us."
After a second, Piper gave a sigh. "Alright."

Well what do you think? I bet you weren't expecting the Paper Doll to appear right? I always liked her as a villain and more of her past will be revealed in the next chapter.
Plus we also have Courage in the story now and he'll have more of a spotlight soon.
And sorry for leaving this story for four months.

Coldblue: Thanks and I'm happy I did Carnage pretty well for a first attempt, it was hard to do his character. And I hope you enjoyed how I've portrayed Paper Doll in this story as well as the small appearance of Courage... I also need to add Poochie and Ken to more scenes. Now for your questions. 1) Eventually yes. 2) Oh yes that would be a great fight scene to type. 3) Yes. 4) Pretty likely considering how I liked Toxin but hated how they made him a villain now with Brock being him. 5) Yes. 6) Thanks, I'm happy I did good on the foreshadowing and yes they will. 7) Eventually. 8) Yes they will but it'll be a slow one. 9) They will and the combined attacks would be used for the extremely dangerous villains like Thanos, Loki and HIM. 10) A little of both. 11) Yes.
