St. Katherine, Capital of Venthara Republic (ever since it's reformed from monarchy to republic)

It is very bizarre that a place like here, where the sky has no celestial bodies (permanent dark), can maintain a precise timekeeping (and with a 24-hour-a-day system), the republic must rely on advanced cesium atomic clocks, quantum clocks and supercomputers to avoid losing track in time. It is even more bizarre Gregorian Calendar is being used here despite this sovereignty is not on Earth and doesn't have a sun to mark a Solar Calendar.

Now it's "morning", despite there's no sun rising. Ventharan government once proposed to create an artificial sun by utilizing fusion plasma concealed in magnetic field, even had a detailed plan of imitating sunrise, sunset and seasonal change of angle of height, however most of citizens voted against it, lead to cancellation of artificial sun project.

Anyways, time is morning so everyone (except those work as night shifts), including Sauron who rules this nation in title of president, are waking up to resume their posts.

Presidential Mansion, where Sauron and her inner circle live. Rosalinda and Grimm, as well as Demona and Damon have already started having breakfast in dining room, with Makoto Ito serving them tea and chocolate cookies. Thanks to nuclear winters and economic depressions throughout multiverse, tea and cocoa products had become very scarce among many civilizations. Seizing this chance, Venthara Republic utilizes advanced technologies to successfully cultivate them in greenhouses with artificial sunlight, renders this nation a major exporter of such rare commodities. Venthara Republic blackmails many sovereignties throughout multiverse by restricting exports of tea and cocoa, successfully expands its influences over them. What good is freedom and independence if living standard degenerates? That's why many Scotches willing to give up chances of breaking away from United Kingdom because if they do so, there won't be any pandas for them in local zoos.

"Mistress, good morning." Rosalinda and Grimm greets as Sauron enters. "Papa!" The twins run to her for a hug. Makoto just raises a hand to give a morning gesture.

"Morning people." Sauron crouches down to give kids a hug. "And good morning to you all." She greets back to others.

"What's wrong with you, kiddo? You look like just seen a Xenomorph." Makoto finds Sauron is a little pale on face.

"What's a Xenomorph?" Asks Damon.

Makoto: "Deadly extraterrestrial species, drafted by two writers Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett, illustrated by an artist Hans Rudolf Giger, finally introduced in a sci-fi horror film directed by Ridley Scott."

"Wow! I'd like to know the details." Damon beams.

Makoto: "You got it, but not now and not here."

"It's only a dream. I met Hitler actually." Sauron finds her seat and sits down: "He treated me for a meal and confessed his ambition of world domination, then we watched a Schutzstaffel parade together, heads on bayonets."

"Who's Hitler?" Demona asks.

Makoto: "Some major ambitious schemer in Homo Sapiens' history on Earth. Same tier as Darth Vader and Palpatine."

"Cool!" Demona beams.

Rosalinda and Grimm: "Sorry to hear that, Mistress."

Sauron: "That's fine, only a dream. Can you pass me cookies?" She looks to Makoto.

Ventharan Time Coordinated: 13:00, February 21st

Sauron and Makoto just finished attending opening ceremony of a new medical institute, now they're eating contents in lunchboxes: stirred fry made by rice, chicken, mushroom, onion, pepper and extra BBQ sauce, plus a bottle of Coca-Cola. Simple but satisfying, standard configuration of working meal.

Makoto drives Sauron to parliament building for afternoon's schedule. The supreme leaders of Venthara Republic are actually using worst private transportation and worst residences available, a gesture of "Govern for the People".

"Have you ever dreamt about historical figures?" Sauron asks.

"Genghis Khan for once or twice." Makoto answers.

"What did you do with him?"

"Supplying latest military technologies and equipment to him, train modern armies for him to conquer the world, marrying one of his daughters, assuming emperor of Global Mongol Empire."

"Good for you." Sauron says: "If I have to dream about celebrities of past, I rather dream about anyone but Hitler."

Makoto: "You can actually choose who you want to meet during dreaming yourself, if you know the trick."

Sauron: "How?"

"Dreams are brain activities of processing recent experiences in background mode, they're essentially reflections of latest information received by braining." Makoto explains.

"So does it mean I can dream of Confucius if I spend hours on studying Confucianism?"

"No guarantee kiddo, but there's a success rate."

So after work, Sauron accesses internet and absorbs vast amount of knowledge of Confucianism via online Chinese culture electives. Aware, headlines of media subsequently change to "President of Venthara Republic Suddenly Interests in Chinese Culture, an Omen of Diplomatic Policies Change?"

Before sleep, Sauron takes special aromatherapy bath to make herself more "presentable" in front of Confucius.

In her dream, Sauron finds herself situated in a forest, she also finds a thatched cottage not far away. Thinking it must be Confucius' residence, she enters it and upon seeing a man.

"Confucius the Sage, I hereby to present myself as your student." Sauron humbly greets.

"Confucius the Sage?" The man is confused.

"And you are…"Sauron also realizes he's not Confucius, at least not the Confucius she saw on portraits supplied by online electives.

"The name is Wang Ching-wei." The man introduces himself. Sauron almost drops dead when acknowledging his identity.

Wang Ching-wei: "May I have the privilege of having dinner with you?"

Sauron dares not eat with one of the most infamous traitors in Chinese history, she's afraid of being infested.

Suddenly Wang Ching-wei pulls out a pistol and points at Sauron: "You don't want a dinner with me?!"

Sauron runs like hell and Wang Ching-wei pulls trigger.

Meanwhile, Makoto is telling bedtime story to Damon and Demona: "Ripley is recording audio log, calmly even a little excited, the cat is being held on her abdomen. 'Final report of the commercial starship Nostromo, third officer reporting. The other members of the crew…Kane, Lambert, Parker, Brett, Ash and Captain Dallas…are dead, cargo and ship destroyed. I should reach the frontier in about six weeks, with a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off.' She finishes recording and fondles cat, smiling: 'Come on, napping time.' Ripley and cat enter hypersleep, the life boat continues its seemly endless drift in the space."

Makoto: "That's the story of 'Alien', directed by Ridley Scott. End of a nightmare and beginning of another."

Damon: "Amazing! This is a great movie!"

Demona: "I'm both excited and scared, I'm afraid of dreaming about that alien monster tonight…"

Makoto: "In that case, sleep but don't dream. The script of Alien had been undergone numerous changes before final version is ascertained, the original one was even more interesting than the actual movie, tomorrow I'll tell you…" Suddenly they here a high-pitch scream from Sauron's bedroom.

Makoto runs to check out what's happening. Damon: "Papa must encounter a Xenomorph in bedroom."

Demona: "Or discovers a chestbuster is erupting from her chest." The two look at each other and smile, satisficing at each other's reaction.

Makoto rendezvous with Rosalinda and Grimm outside Sauron's bed room, as they enter, Sauron is lying on floor and is struggling under quilt. When they remove quilt, Sauron is still screaming, shouting she is a hero/heroine that she rather die than eating with a quisling.

Makoto: "Lemme take a wild guess, you dreamed about Chiang Kai-shek."

Sauron: "It was Wang Ching-wei."

Makoto: "Even worse."

Sauron frustrates: "Damn it!"

Makoto and Sauron are in a pub after work, drinking soft beverages.

Sauron throws her bottle on table: "I can't believe it!"

Makoto glances at her bottle's trademark: "You're drinking Coca-Cola."

Sauron: "I just want to emphasize my emotion. I rather get devoured by a Xenomorph in my dream than meeting the likes of Hitler and Wang Ching-wei!"

Makoto: "How 'bout this? You had seen my demonstration of the first practical FPS game Wolfenstein 3D, what B.J. Blazkowicz did in Episode 3 Floor 9?"

Sauron: "So?"

Makoto: "If he can do it, you can do the same or similar."

Sauron: "Understood."

So Sauron spends hours for drawing up a plan of assassinating Hitler. Since she is not B.J. Blazkowicz, she chooses to use poison instead of gunpowder.

In her dream, Sauron finds herself is outside a giant mansion, with armed guards.

There's no way to bypass so many men with guns. However Sauron sees a maid recruitment notice posted on outer walls of the mansion. She recommends herself to be an applicant and successfully infiltrates into kitchen, spikes foods with poison she's carrying. Initially, Sauron feels disgraced for approaching target as a maid, but soon feels relived since she is luckier than those assassinators who must pretend to be consorts.

Butler orders Sauron to serve their master foods. Upon on seeing the man, Sauron is shocked: He is not Hitler, even not Hideki Tojo.

Before she can identify who he is, he ingests the spiked food and dies.

At the funeral, Sauron acknowledges the identity of the man she just poisoned: The name is Alexandre Dumas, author of world-renowned The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers, also father of La Dame aux Camelias' author.

"I killed Alexandre Dumas!" Sauron bursts in tears upon waking up.

"You killed who?" Makoto doesn't get it.

Sauron: "Alexandre Dumas! That famous French litterateur!"

"Now I get it. Well, happens to like his The Count of Monte Cristo." Makoto shrugs shoulders: "Just a dream, no need to be bothered."

Sauron: "You don't get it! You don't understand how torturing it can be!"

From that day on, Sauron develops a fear of sleeping, because every time she sleeps, she will have bad experiences with historical figures. As the fear grows deeper, the bad experiences worsen.

Sauron once watches Edison and Einstein are scuffling over ownership of an iPhone in one of her dreams. Seeing two greatest scientific minds are fighting over a tiny percentage, she feels so guilty.

In another dream, Sauron finds herself is taking bath with Jiang Qing in same hot spring. After confirming her identity, Sauron attempts to choke Jiang Qing and drown her in hot water. But Jiang Qing calls for help and summons bodyguards to subdue Sauron. After waking up, Sauron accuses herself for losing the chance of eliminating one of the most infamous female villains throughout Chinese history.

As a tradition, a New Year speech is going to be given by supreme leader via media to population, as a review of past achievements and an expectation to future advancements.

Makoto: "Good evening and happy new year, my fellow citizens of Venthara Republic. Many of you are surprised president is not the one who gives this speech, well, an unfortunate news is president herself is suffering a mental disorder, days of continuous hardwork had destabilized her mind. Before she can recover and resume her post, I will temporally take over her authority as the acting president. Time flows fast, in a blink of eye it's New Year's eve again. As we reach threshold of a new annual cycle, I hereby to present greetings from central government to people and governments at all levels. The past year is exciting and memorable, when many other sovereignties' economies are shrinking in general recession, we manage to maintain a growth rate of eight percent approximately. We also improve our infrastructure constructions and subsequently increase the living standards, especially realization of universal free medical care and free education coverage from elementary school to high school, when other civilizations' citizens are griping over increasingly unaffordable expenses on medication and education, our people is enjoying privileges of being relived from such dilemmas. That's a ferocious slap on faces of those self-righteous 'justicial fanatics' who accuse us as 'evil', 'tyranny'. We also implemented accomplishments on military and diplomacy aspects…to achieve some many successes, our governments really devote into hardwork, of course without supports from every citizen, such achievements will never come true, so I hereby to present my gratitude to everyone, kudos are all yours…"

One more step on his plan. With Sauron out of commission and authorize Makoto to execute her power, all military strength of political, economic and military might of this vicious nation now are de facto under his disposal, and he is going to use them against the multiverse. After New Year's speech, Makoto issues his first Presidential Decree: Resume construction of the Chandelier-class para-doomsday weapon.
