Chapter eight: The Storm Passes

Sakura was released from the hospital a week after she was admitted. Dr. Senju was impressed with Sakura's overall condition. "Being dead didn't do a thing to harm you apparently. You're free to go." She said as she signed the papers to discharge the pinkette. Sakura snorted as she signed her papers. "I'm not surprised. I've survived a lot. Seems fitting I'd survive strangulation too." She replied. Dr. Senju laughed and patted Sakura on the head. "Good luck." She said.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Temari asked. "Yes. I'm fine. Honestly." Sakura replied as she stretched her arms and legs after being in a bed for a week. The pink haired teen grinned. "I'm starving. Let's have a cookout in the backyard!" Sakura said. "Alright." Temari replied. She was still wary of Sakura being up and around by herself but she seemed ok so the blonde would let it go.
"Shino, Neji will you guys cook?" Sakura asked. "Sure. No problem." The two agreed, Shino's bright eyes trained on her as she wobbled a little. Shino quit wearing his sunglasses when he wasn't in public or at school. No one bothered him about his eyes and that made Shino much more comfortable about showing them. Akatsuki and Sai were a familiar group around Sakura's house. If someone needed them, they just had to look there. Which is why Uchiha Sasuke was banging on her front door.
Sakura opened the door and scowled. "What?" She asked. "Where are my brothers?" Sasuke demanded. "Out back. What do you want?" Sakura demanded back. Sasuke put on his haughtiest expression and waved his hand at her. "I wish to speak to my brothers commoner. Move out of my way." He replied. Sakura slammed the door in his face and walked away, smiling cheerfully. She sighed when the bell started ringing insistently. "What?" Sakura demanded again as she opened the door again. "I want to speak to my brothers. They aren't answering their cell phones and spend more time here with you than at their own home." Sasuke replied petulantly. "I can see why if they have to deal with a primadonna like you all the time. Seriously. Would it kill you to behave like a human being rather than a wanna-be king?" Sakura asked disdainfully.
"Itachi, Sai the brat is here to see you." Sakura said sullenly as she led Sasuke out back to the barbeque area. Itachi and Sai shared a sigh of oppression and looked at their brother. "Yeah?" They said in unison. "That's creepy." Deidara mentioned. Sakura sat down and closed her eyes. "Are you alright? We can cancel this if you're not up to it." Shino asked softly red eyes bright with concern. "No. I'm ok. Don't worry. I'm just a little tired from dealing with the prick." Sakura replied lightly. "Alright." Shino said. Dinner was ready shortly after Sasuke showed up and just to be polite, Sakura invited him to stay for dinner. "No thanks. I have a previous engagement." Sasuke said stiffly. Sakura shrugged and showed the stuck-up Uchiha out.
