Sakura sat up slowly, afraid her back would seize again while Itachi got to his feet quickly and helped her up. Sasuke didn't even bother to hide his grin from his mother. "What's this I hear about you being Katashi's daughter?" Mikoto asked pleasantly. "I just found out myself so I don't know any more than you do." Sakura replied. Mikoto nodded sagely. "I'll bring Katashi to clear this up. Don't worry. He's a lot more mellow than he was in his youth." She said. Sakura shrugged. "I'm not too worried. I can deal with violence quite efficiently." Sakura replied.

Katashi's eyes widened when he saw Sakura for the first time. "S-Sakuya?" He stuttered. Sakura looked away. "She was my mother." She replied quietly. "Was?" Katashi echoed. "Yeah. Was. She's dead now." Sakura replied curtly. "What happened?" Katashi demanded. "Why do you care all of a sudden?" Sakura demanded back. "As a young man I was a fool. Marrying my wife and raising my son mellowed me out. I just want to know what happened to your mother. I understand that you're angry." Katashi replied. "Do you? Do you have any idea what I'm feeling right now? Any idea at all?" Sakura asked as she glared at the floor. "No. I guess I don't. Please tell me what happened to your mother." Katashi replied. "She died in a car accident with my little half-brother. I was only a kid." Sakura replied.

"I can't believe you didn't look for her Father. I'm disappointed in you. All this time she could have been raised here in this family where she belongs and instead she had to live with some man that wasn't even her father." Shisui scolded his father. "I didn't know about her. Sakuya didn't tell me." Katashi protested. "That's a lie. She did tell you and you tried to kill her." Sakura spat. "I didn't think it was true." Katashi said. "If you're worried about me wanting money, then don't. I have plenty of my own. I don't really expect anything from you and I won't make you try to include me in your life. Don't worry about anything. I'm perfectly content with what I have now." Sakura said politely. Katashi shook his head. "No I wasn't worried about you wanting money. I do want to know you though. You're my child too. I want to make up for not being there. I am completely at fault. I want to be in your life and I want you in mine." He said earnestly.

"Sakura are you still planning on staying the night?" Sai asked curiously. Sakura nodded. "Yeah. The guest room is set up for me and Tenten right?" She asked. "Yeah. I just finished it before you arrived." Sai agreed. "Then it's settled. You and your friend will stay the night and you can begin to get to know Katashi and vice versa." Mikoto said cheerfully. Sakura sighed silently. "I suppose it's only fair that I don't pulverize Sasuke for sticking his stupid nose into my business because he actually did me a favor." She said. Mikoto chuckled. "Katashi, Shisui I guess you'll be staying for dinner then?" She asked. "Yeah." Shisui agreed as Katashi nodded.

Dinner began tensely as Mikoto kept trying to seat Katashi, Shisui, and Sakura together while the pinkette kept trying to sit with Itachi, Sai, and Tenten. "Ok this isn't working." Tenten said finally. "You're right. Perhaps I'm pushing too hard." Mikoto agreed. "You are. Sakura absolutely hates being forced to do something she's not comfortable with and you are trying to do just that. Let her do it on her own please." Tenten said. Mikoto nodded. "You're right. I apologize. I'm used to bullying my sons." She sighed. Sakura smiled. "It's fine." She said. "How's your back?" Sai asked. "It's fine. Just a flare up after all." Sakura replied. "You have back problems?" Katashi asked curiously. "Yes. You could say that." Sakura replied evasively. "Sorry." Sai ducked his head. "Everyone will find out eventually." Sakura replied reassuringly.
